Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a retaining system comprising a sleeve having a retaining member formed internally and a rod having a retaining profile formed externally. The rod is securely and axially engaged in the sleeve, while the retaining profile engages with the retaining member, such that the rod is fixed to move axially together with the sleeve.
[0002] This holding system is specifically used in pumps at the actuator rod, which is equipped with a push rod that the user can actuate by pressing the push rod with their finger. Background Technology
[0003] exist Figure 1 In the known configuration shown, the actuating rod can move axially back and forth within the pump body 5a against a spring 4a. The actuating rod includes an upper portion on which a push rod is mounted and a lower portion on which a piston 3a is mounted. A pump chamber C is formed below the lower portion and the piston 3a. The upper portion forms a sleeve 1a, and the lower portion forms a rod 2a that is securely engaged within the sleeve 1a. The piston 3a can slide around the rod 2a and within the sleeve 1a to open and close an outlet orifice that communicates with an internal channel 14a formed within the sleeve 1a. The piston 3a includes a sealing lip 31a that is engaged and slides sealingly within the sleeve 1a. The piston 3a also includes a contact edge 32a that is pushed by the spring 4a to form a sealing contact with a collar 26a of the rod 2a. The spring 4a and the piston 3a associated with the actuating rod form the pump's outlet valve.
[0004] More precisely, the upper sleeve 1a forms a retaining member 13a on its inner side, while the lower rod 2a forms a retaining profile 23a on its outer side. The retaining member 13a of the sleeve 1a is formed by shoulder regions separated by channels for fluid products. The retaining profile 23a of the rod is formed by an annular shoulder formed below the plug portion 21a, which is substantially pointed or arched in shape.
[0005] During assembly, the connector portion 21a engages within the sleeve 1a until it contacts the shoulder region 13a of the sleeve 1a. A very strong axial thrust must then be applied to pass the connector portion 21a between the shoulder regions 13a. This causes temporary and / or permanent deformation of both the shoulder region and the connector portion 21a. This press-fit assembly requires extremely high dimensional accuracy to ensure both tightness and mechanical strength. Typically, the rod 2a is not secured within the sleeve 1a: a radial clearance exists, which can cause the rod 2a to shift relative to the sleeve 1a. This is because the connector portion 21a must be large enough to ensure axial connection, but this size is insufficient to ensure radial contact between the shoulder region 13a and the rod 2a beneath the annular shoulder 23a.
[0006] In addition, the flow cross-section of fluid products between the shoulder areas is limited because axial attachment must be ensured.
[0007] During aging, the plastic's sensitivity to the solvent in the dispersion formulation can lead to a decrease in its strength, potentially causing stress cracking and dimensional changes. This limits the choice of plastics: low-sensitivity PBT resins are often used, but this can interfere with the recycling process.
[0008] Solutions envisioned based on existing technologies (such as...) Figure 1 As shown, an axial window 27a is provided on the connector portion 21a to enhance its elastic deformation capacity. However, this axial window 27a weakens the rod 2a, which may cause the rod to be damaged during assembly and / or use.
[0009] Such retaining systems with rod-sleeve engagement can be found in other configurations, particularly in pumps, for example, for attaching push rods to actuator rods or movable valve bodies. Summary of the Invention
[0010] The objective of this invention is to overcome the deficiencies of the prior art by proposing a novel retaining system that requires less axial thrust when assembling the rod into the sleeve. Another objective is to generate elastic deformation and minimize or even eliminate permanent deformation. Yet another objective is to increase the flow cross-section. Finally, this invention also aims to avoid the forced use of specific types of plastics (such as PBT), allowing the sleeve and rod to be made of easily recyclable plastics (such as PE or PP).
[0011] Therefore, the present invention proposes a holding system that defines a longitudinal axis X and includes:
[0012] - A sleeve, which forms at least one shoulder region internally, and
[0013] - A rod that forms at least one retaining profile on the outside.
[0014] The rod is axially engaged in the sleeve along the longitudinal axis X, while maintaining axial engagement between the profile and the shoulder area.
[0015] The retaining system is characterized in that at least one of the retaining member and the shoulder region is formed by a flexible latch that extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X and is capable of radial deformation in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X.
[0016] Therefore, there are three possible scenarios:
[0017] Scenario 1: Only the sleeve forms a flexible latch.
[0018] Scenario 2: Only the rod forms a flexible latch, or
[0019] Scenario 3: Both the sleeve and the rod form flexible latches.
[0020] In cases 1 and 3, the insert portion pushes the flexible latch of the sleeve outward without any significant or perceptible permanent deformation. After the insert portion has passed, the flexible latch of the sleeve elastically relaxes to return to its resting state.
[0021] In cases 2 and 3, the shoulder region of the sleeve elastically pushes the flexible latch of the rod inward without any significant or perceptible permanent deformation. After passing through the shoulder region of the sleeve, the flexible latch of the rod elastically relaxes to return to its resting state.
[0022] The flexible latch extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. If the longitudinal axis X can be described as vertical, then the flexible latch extends horizontally. Therefore, the flexible latch can deform in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. The movement of the flexible latch can be compared to the movement of a sheet in a diaphragm: the sheet moves in a horizontal plane to change the opening of the diaphragm. This also applies to a flexible latch that moves in a horizontal plane relative to the vertical axis X to change the channel opening of the sleeve and / or reduce the channel diameter of the rod. It can also be considered that the flexible latch is capable of radial deformation without any axial component.
[0023] According to another possible definition, each flexible latch may include a radially movable free end and a fixed connecting end, the free end and the fixed end being substantially located at the same axial level, such that the flexible latch can deform only in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X.
[0024] In cases 1 or 3, the flexible latch is formed by a sleeve, and the rod may include a connector portion and a neck. The connector portion is connected to the neck by forming an annular shoulder that maintains the profile, extending radially outward from the neck. When the rod is inserted into the sleeve, the connector portion causes the flexible latch of the sleeve to deform radially outward, and the flexible latch (13) of the sleeve forms radial contact with the neck and axial contact with the annular shoulder. Advantageously, the entire flexible latch of the sleeve forms a supporting radial contact with the neck.
[0025] In case 2 or 3, the rod may include a connector portion, a flexible latch formed therefrom, which deforms radially inward when the rod is inserted into the sleeve, and the flexible latch of the rod at least partially forms a retaining profile that makes axial contact with the shoulder region of the sleeve, the retaining profile being formed by the flexible latch or a conventional profile of the prior art.
[0026] In scenario 3, the sleeve and rod form a flexible latch in axial contact. The flexible latch of the sleeve has a curvature opposite to that of the flexible latch of the rod, and vice versa. Therefore, this ensures that the flexible latches will never be axially misaligned. The latches intersect each other, thus guaranteeing axial contact.
[0027] According to another feature of the invention, the rod may have a truncated conical section formed below the neck, and the flexible latch of the sleeve forms a truncated conical lower surface that engages with the truncated conical section of the rod. Advantageously, the flexible latch of the sleeve simultaneously contacts the annular shoulder, the neck, and the truncated conical section of the rod. Therefore, the rod is fixed while the sleeve has no axial clearance.
[0028] According to one embodiment, the sleeve can form a fluid product channel around the rod and between the flexible latch. This is the case with the actuating rod of a pump. Advantageously, the rod forms a collar that can form a sealing contact with the contact edge, thereby forming a valve.
[0029] In another implementation, the rod can form a fluid product channel internally. This is the case with the push rod of a pump or valve.
[0030] The present invention also defines a fluid product dispenser, the dispenser including a holding system through which fluid flows.
[0031] The scope of this invention is based on the fact that the system primarily (if not exclusively) undergoes elastic deformation, preferably purely radial deformation, to reduce axial thrust during insertion while ensuring precise axial alignment. Attached Figure Description
[0032] The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings, which illustrate three embodiments of the invention by way of non-limiting example.

[0042] Figure 9 It is a schematic vertical cross-sectional view of a push rod mounted on the actuator rod of a pump or valve. Detailed Implementation
[0043] In the three embodiments described below, the retaining system includes a sleeve and a rod inserted into and held in place within the sleeve, such that the two parts subsequently become integral with each other and form a solid. Advantageously, there is no axial clearance between the sleeve and the rod. However, axial clearance is still possible, as described below.
[0044] exist Figures 2 to 5 In the first embodiment, sleeve 1b and rod 2b can be formed with Figure 1 A portion of an actuator rod similar to an actuator rod. Figure 1 The actuating rod has been used to illustrate the prior art. Sleeve 1b is formed from the upper part of the actuating rod, and rod 2b forms the lower part of the actuating rod.
[0045] Sleeve 1b includes a cylindrical portion 10 that defines a longitudinal axis X and forms a predominantly cylindrical inner wall 11. The cylindricity of the wall 11 is broken by a number of vertical ribs 12 that may extend over the entire height or part of the height of the cylindrical portion 10. These vertical ribs 12 project radially inward. Between these vertical ribs 12, several channel sections for fluid products are defined extending inside sleeve 1b. It should be noted that the flow cross-section is larger than the horizontal cross-section of the vertical ribs 12.
[0046] According to the invention, the sleeve 1b forms a plurality of elastically deformable flexible latches 13. Advantageously, the flexible latches 13 are formed at the vertical ribs 12. In other words, each vertical rib 12 is provided with a flexible latch 13, which is preferably located near the lower end of the vertical rib 12. The flexible latches 13 extend substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. Each flexible latch 13 includes a radially movable free end 132 and a fixed connecting end 131 connected to its corresponding rib 12. The free end 132 and the fixed end 131 are substantially located at the same axial level, such that the flexible latches 13 can deform in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. The free end 132 does not move axially, but moves only horizontally or perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X.
[0047] refer to Figure 4 As can be seen, the flexible latch 13 extends substantially along the extension of the rib 12 toward the interior of the sleeve 1b, but in a non-radial manner. In fact, the flexible latch 13 has a curvature that deviates from the fully radial direction in a comma-like manner. The fixed connection end 131 merges with the rib 12, and the free end 132 extends to the center of the sleeve 1b.
[0048] It can be seen that the flexible latch 13 forms a contact area 133 oriented toward the center of the sleeve. This contact area 133 defines a cylindrical segment centered on the axis X, such that all contact areas 133 of each flexible latch 13 define an imaginary cylinder centered on the axis X.
[0049] Although the neck 24 is cylindrical, and the contact area 133 of the flexible latch 13 together defines an imaginary cylinder centered on axis X, it is possible to specify that the neck has a polygonal cross-section and the contact area 133 has complementary contours so that the rod is oriented at an angle within the sleeve. In some embodiments, such an angular orientation may be useful.
[0050] The flexible latch 13 defines an upper surface 134 and a lower surface 135, the upper surface preferably being planar and perpendicular to the axis X, and the lower surface preferably being truncated conical. In the context of the invention, the upper surface 134 forms a shoulder region that is intended to axially contact the annular shoulder 23 of the rod 2b.
[0051] The rod 2b is preferably solid, except for its bottom end, which forms a truncated conical collar 26. Above the collar 26, the rod 2b forms a body 20, which is cylindrical. Above the body 20, the rod 2b forms a truncated conical section 25, which reduces the diameter of the body 20. A neck 24 connects to the truncated conical section 25: the neck 24 is preferably cylindrical, but its diameter is smaller than that of the body 20. The truncated conical section 25 can be considered to achieve the connection between the cylindrical body 20 and the neck 24. Above the neck 24, the rod 2b forms a connector portion 21, which connects to the neck 24 by forming an annular shoulder 23 extending in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X. The maximum diameter of the head 21 is greater than the maximum diameter of the neck 24. The connector portion 21 defines an outer surface 22, which is shaped like a pointed arch or a truncated cone to facilitate insertion between the flexible latches 13 of the sleeve 1b. Figure 1 As shown, the collar 26 is expected to make sealing contact with the contact edge formed by the piston or stationary component.
[0052] Figure 5The diagram shows rod 2b axially engaged in sleeve 1b: only the head 21 of rod 2b is inserted into sleeve 1b. It should be readily understood that the head 21 of rod 2b makes contact with the flexible latch 13. More precisely, the outer surface 22 of the head 21 makes contact with the lower surface 135 of the flexible latch 13. The pointed arch or truncated cone shape of the outer surface 22 abutting against the truncated cone shape of the lower surface 135 induces a cam motion on the flexible latch 13, which deforms radially outward in a manner similar to a diaphragm sheet, as previously described. The free end 132 of the flexible latch 13 moves toward the inner wall 11 of sleeve 1b with little or no axial component. The deformation of the flexible latch 13 varies gradually depending on the configuration of the outer surface 22, until it reaches maximum deformation at its annular shoulder 23, which corresponds to the maximum diameter of the head 21. Once the annular shoulder 23 of the head 21 has reached above the upper surface 134 of the flexible latch 13, the flexible latch 13 can be elastically released. This elastic release can be referred to as a snap-lock fastening. The flexible latch 13 then fits around the neck 24: the curved contact area 133 advantageously abuts against the outer wall of the neck 24 to form a supporting contact. Additionally, the flat upper surface 134 of the flexible latch 13 advantageously contacts the annular shoulder 23 of the rod 2b, and the truncated conical lower surface 135 advantageously contacts the truncated conical section 25 of the rod 2b. Therefore, there is no longer any gap between the rod 2b and the sleeve 1b, neither in the axial nor radial direction. Figure 2 In the image, the flexible latch 13 can be seen to completely fill the space formed by the neck 24. However, the outer surface 22 of the head 21 remains positioned away from the vertical rib 12.
[0053] Figure 6a and Figure 6b A first variant embodiment is shown, wherein sleeve 1b is with Figures 2 to 5 The sleeves in the implementation schemes are the same or similar. Figure 6a and Figure 6b Rod 2c in the middle and Figures 2 to 5 The difference in the rod is that neck 24c is longer than neck 24, which means that the ring shoulder 23 is longer than neck 24. Figures 2 to 5 The first embodiment is further away from the truncated conical section 25. This is due to the flexible latch 13 of sleeve 1b and... Figures 2 to 5 The same conditions apply to the upper surface 134 and the lower surface 135, meaning that they cannot simultaneously make contact with the annular shoulder 23 and the truncated conical segment 25. A support contact between the flexible latch 13 and the neck 24c is preferred. Figure 6a In the middle, a space E1 is left between the lower surface 135 and the truncated conical segment 25, while the upper surface 134 contacts the annular shoulder 23. Figure 6bIn this configuration, a space E2 is provided between the upper surface 134 and the annular shoulder 23, while the lower surface 135 contacts the truncated conical section 25. Therefore, the rod 2c is fixed to the sleeve 1b, but it can move axially relative to the sleeve 1b over an axial travel corresponding to the space E2. This alternative embodiment is suitable for situations where the rod needs to move axially relative to the sleeve.
[0054] Figure 7a and Figure 7b A second variant implementation is shown, wherein sleeve 1b is with Figures 2 to 5 The sleeves in the implementation schemes are the same or similar. Figure 7a and Figure 7b Rod 2d and Figures 2 to 5 The difference in the rod is that the insertion portion 21d of the rod 2d forms flexible lugs 213, which can deform in the same way as the flexible lugs 13 of the sleeve 1b, that is, radially deform in a manner similar to a diaphragm. However, the flexible latch 13 can deform radially outward to open the channel of the head 21 or 21d, while the flexible latch 213 can deform radially inward to reduce the usable diameter of the head 21d.
[0055] More precisely, in this case, the flexible latches 213 are in the form of twists or spirals, extending over most of the height of the head 21d. The latches 213 together form an annular shoulder 214 at their lower ends adjacent to the neck 24, which contacts, preferably supports, the upper surface 134 of the latches 13 of the sleeve 1b. The latches 13 preferably form a supporting contact with the neck 24, and their lower surface 135 contacts the truncated conical segment 25. Figure 7b It is important to note that the latch 13 of sleeve 1b has a curvature opposite to that of the latch 213 of head 21d in order to ensure constant axial contact between latches 13 and 213.
[0056] When the head 21d is inserted into the sleeve 2b, the latch 13 of the sleeve 1b is pushed radially outward, and the latch 213 of the head 21d is pushed radially inward. This simultaneous dual deformation allows for a reduction in axial thrust without weakening the final axial attachment.
[0057] In variants not shown, it can be used with Figure 1 The similar or identical conventional non-deformable shoulder areas in the sleeve 1b replace the flexible latch 13.
[0058] Sleeve 1b and rods 2b, 2c and 2d can be made of any suitable plastic material with an efficient recycling process, and are preferably made of PE or PP.
[0059] Just referenced Figures 2 to 7bThe described retention system of the present invention can be used in various embodiments, in various devices, and specifically in fluid product dispensers equipped with pumps or valves. In the latter case, the fluid product is intended to flow through the retention system, either between the flexible latches 13 and / or 213 or inside the rod.
[0060] Figure 8 The present invention is shown with Figures 1 to 5 A similar implementation scheme is the controllable valve. Figure 1 In this configuration, collar 26a serves as a sealing support area for piston 3a, which is axially movable around rod 2a and within sleeve 1a. Figure 8 In the illustrated embodiment, sleeve 1e and rod 2e are axially movable against return spring 4. The collar 26 of rod 2e presses against the stationary sealing edge 32. The attachment of rod 2e to the interior of sleeve 1e is compatible with… Figures 2 to 5 The attachment of the first embodiment is strictly the same or similar, namely, the flexible latch 13 engages below the plug portion 21, forming an annular shoulder 23 and a narrowed neck 24. Movement of the integral assembly formed by the sleeve 1e and the rod 2e allows the collar 26 to be separated from the support edge 32 to open a channel for a fluid product, which then flows around the rod 2e and, in particular, around its plug portion 21 within the sleeve 1e.
[0061] Therefore, this second implementation scheme is similar to Figures 2 to 5 The first implementation scheme is very similar, except that it lacks a piston that can shift around rod 2e. It can also achieve, for example... Figure 7a and Figure 7b The retaining system shown.
[0062] exist Figure 9In this embodiment, the retaining system of the present invention is implemented for mounting a push rod P onto an actuating rod, specifically onto the free end of a sleeve 1f. The push rod P forms an outlet channel P1 that extends outward through a distribution hole P2. This outlet channel P1 connects upstream to a channel 27 formed within a rod 2f, which has a connector portion 21 at its lower end, similar to or identical to that in the aforementioned embodiment. Specifically, the head 21 forms a planar annular shoulder 23, which then extends by a narrowed neck 24 and a truncated conical section 25. The channel 27 extends through the entire rod 2f, extending outward at the lower end of the connector portion 21f. The sleeve 1f internally forms several flexible latches 13, which may be identical to or similar to the latches 13 in the first embodiment. However, it must be noted that there are no vertical ribs 12 in this embodiment: the flexible latches 13 are directly connected to the inner wall of the sleeve 1f. The latch 13 elastically snaps into the housing formed by the neck 24, advantageously contacting the annular shoulder 23 and the truncated conical section 25. To ensure that the rod 2f is sealed within the sleeve 1f, a sealing ring 28 is also provided, which projects radially outward and contacts the inner wall of the sleeve 1f.
[0063] By axially pressing the push rod P, the actuator rod is pushed into the pump body, which has the effect of opening the outlet valve, which can be connected to... Figure 1 The outlet valve is similar to or equivalent to that in the sleeve 1f, which forces a certain amount of fluid product into the sleeve 1f, then through the channel 27 and finally through the outlet channel P1 that extends outward at the distribution hole P2.
[0064] In this embodiment, the product flows through the holding system, and more specifically, through rod 2f, which differs from the case in the aforementioned embodiments.
[0065] Although the second and third embodiments have been briefly described, it must be understood that some or all of the characteristics of the first embodiment and these two variants (in particular the characteristics of the flexible latches 13 and / or 213) can be implemented in these second and third embodiments.
[0066] In any case, the retaining system of the present invention includes flexible latches that, during the process of being fitted into the rod connector via elastic relaxation and snap-fit at the neck, elastically bend radially outward or inward without any axial component, thereby creating a local narrowing of the rod. Contact with the annular shoulder and the truncated conical section is advantageous, but not necessary. Advantageously, the supporting contact of the flexible latches radially abuts against the outer wall of the neck, but this is not mandatory.
[0067] More generally, the present invention provides the use of a flexible latch that moves radially at the attachment of a rod in the insert sleeve in a manner similar to that of a diaphragm sheet without any axial component. This means that the flexible latch can be formed at the sleeve, as in all the figures, or the flexible latch can be formed at the rod, particularly at the insertion portion 21, as in... Figure 7a and Figure 7b The situation in the middle.
[0068] Regardless of whether the flexible latch is formed at the sleeve and / or the rod, the purpose of the invention remains unchanged, namely, that the insertion of the rod inside the sleeve produces only radially reversible elastic deformation without any axial component, and produces very little or no permanent deformation.
