Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to a water-soluble detergent sheet. The invention also relates to the use of this water-soluble detergent sheet in the cleaning of textiles, particularly in the cleaning of sportswear or functional clothing. Background Technology

[0002] Traditional detergents, whether in liquid or powder form, have many drawbacks, such as the need for precise measurement, the risk of spillage, and potential environmental pollution from packaging materials. These problems can lead to inefficient detergent use and unnecessary environmental pollution.

[0003] Water-soluble detergent sheets are known in the prior art, for example from German patent DE 10 2020 215 034A1. These are thin, soft sheets containing a precise amount of detergent that dissolves completely in water. This ensures easy, clean disposal, leaving no residue or packaging waste. The detergent sheets can be placed directly into the washing machine, where they quickly dissolve and evenly distribute the detergent.

[0004] Another advantage of water-soluble detergent sheets is their compact and lightweight form, making them easy to transport and store. Compared to conventional laundry detergents, they take up less space and can be packaged in more environmentally friendly ways. Furthermore, precise metering helps minimize detergent waste, thus reducing environmental pollution.

[0005] Due to the unique material composition and sensitive structure of sportswear and performance apparel, they require special cleaning. Conventional laundry detergents often fail to meet these needs, either because they are ineffective at cleaning or may damage the materials. In particular, using regular fabric softeners can cause numerous problems when cleaning sportswear and performance apparel.

[0006] The problem with using fabric softeners in sportswear and performance apparel is that they can impair the specific properties of these textiles. Sportswear and performance apparel are typically made of synthetic materials developed to wick away moisture, dry quickly, and provide high breathability. However, fabric softeners can leave a thin layer on the fibers, thus weakening these functions. This results in reduced moisture permeability, slower drying, and decreased breathability, significantly reducing the garment's comfort and performance. Summary of the Invention

[0007] Purpose of the invention

[0008] Therefore, the object of this invention is to provide a water-soluble detergent sheet that overcomes the shortcomings of existing technologies, building upon the prior art. Specifically, the object of this invention is to provide a water-soluble detergent sheet that effectively makes textiles cleaned using this water-soluble detergent sheet achieve a softness similar to that achieved with fabric softener. Furthermore, the object of this invention is also to provide a water-soluble detergent sheet that can be used as a fabric softener in the cleaning of sportswear and functional clothing without significantly reducing the comfort and performance of the garments.

[0009] Technical solution

[0010] This objective can be achieved according to the subject matter of the independent claims. Other embodiments are derived from the subject matter of the dependent claims and the following description of the invention.

[0011] This objective is achieved, in particular, by a water-soluble detergent tablet comprising:

[0012] Nonionic surfactants;

[0013] Triglycerides; and

[0014] Hydrolyzed protein.

[0015] Furthermore, this objective is achieved in particular by the use of the water-soluble detergent sheets according to the invention in the cleaning of textiles, wherein the textiles are sportswear or functional clothing.

[0016] Technical effect

[0017] Surprisingly, the washing sheets according to the invention can be used to wash textiles to improve their sweat cushioning, wearing comfort, and elasticity after washing. In particular, the washing sheets according to the invention can be used as fabric softeners, i.e., fabric softener sheets, for washing sportswear and functional garments without impairing (or only to an acceptable extent impairing) the beneficial properties of said sportswear and functional garments. [0063] Uses of detergent sheets in textile cleaning

[0064] Secondly, the present invention relates to the use of water-soluble detergent sheets according to the invention in the cleaning of textiles. Use in the cleaning of textiles particularly includes the use of the water-soluble detergent sheets as detergents (i.e., as water-soluble detergent sheets) or fabric softeners (i.e., as water-soluble fabric softener sheets).

[0065] According to the present invention, the textiles to be cleaned within the scope of use of the water-soluble detergent sheets according to the present invention can be sportswear or functional clothing.

[0066] Sportswear and performance apparel can be made from a combination of synthetic and / or natural textile materials. Synthetic materials include, for example, polyester, nylon, or spandex. Natural fibers include, for example, merino wool or cotton. If sportswear and performance apparel are made from natural fibers, they may be supplemented with special coatings and / or films to ensure properties such as breathability, water resistance, wind resistance, and elasticity. This type of clothing is designed to provide the wearer with optimal freedom of movement and comfort during sporting activities, and may integrate additional features such as UV protection and reflective elements. In other words, sportswear and performance apparel differ from other apparel primarily in their special material properties and specific functions designed to meet the needs of athletes and active individuals.

[0067] Sportswear and performance apparel can be made from synthetic materials, particularly polyester, nylon, or spandex. These synthetic materials are lightweight, durable, and elastic. Compared to conventional cotton or wool fabrics, they offer greater freedom of movement and durability.

[0068] Fibers used in the production of sportswear and functional clothing (including synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, or spandex) and (especially) natural fibers may be coated with one or more coating materials.

[0069] The corresponding coating materials are especially:

[0070] Polyurethane (PU): Polyurethane coatings are commonly used to improve the water resistance and breathability of textiles. They provide a soft and durable layer that is moisture-proof without compromising breathability.

[0071] Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE): PTFE, known by the trade name Gore-Tex®, is used to manufacture waterproof, windproof, and breathable membranes. This coating allows sweat to escape as water vapor while preventing moisture from seeping in.

[0072] Silicone: Silicone coatings are used to improve the water repellency and durability of textiles. They provide a smooth surface, effectively repelling water and stains, while remaining soft and durable.

[0073] Fluoropolymers: Fluoropolymers, such as fluorocarbon coatings, are used to improve the water and stain repellency of textiles. These coatings are particularly effective at repelling water, oil, and other liquids.

[0074] Antimicrobial coatings: These coatings contain antimicrobial active substances, such as silver ions or zinc pyrithione, which inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi that cause odors. This helps keep clothing fresh and reduces odors.

[0075] UV-protective coating: Some functional clothing features a UV-protective coating that protects the skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation. These coatings absorb or reflect UV rays, providing extra protection during outdoor activities.

[0076] Hydrophilic coatings: These coatings improve moisture absorption and wicking by distributing sweat across the surface of the textile, allowing it to evaporate more quickly. This helps keep the wearer dry and comfortable.

[0077] These coatings are crucial for optimizing the performance and functionality of sportswear and performance apparel, making them suitable for a wide range of applications and environments.

[0078] Washing sportswear and functional garments with conventional fabric softeners can impair their beneficial properties. Surprisingly, the washing sheets according to the invention can be used as fabric softeners, i.e., as fabric softener sheets, for washing sportswear and functional garments without impairing (or only to an acceptable extent impairing) their beneficial properties.

[0079] The use of the water-soluble detergent tablets according to the present invention is particularly a method comprising the following steps:

[0080] Provide textiles, particularly sportswear or functional clothing, together with the water-soluble detergent sheet according to the invention, in water or (preferably) an aqueous solution; and wash the textiles together with the water-soluble detergent sheet in water or an aqueous solution at a temperature of at least 20°C for at least 10 minutes.

[0081] Preferably, the textile is clothing, such as shirts, T-shirts, trousers, jackets, sweaters, socks, and ankle socks.

[0082] The preferred embodiments described in relation to the water-soluble detergent tablets according to the present invention are also preferred embodiments regarding the use of the present invention. Invention Details

[0084] The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to specific exemplary embodiments. This description is primarily intended to illustrate the invention. Those skilled in the art will understand that not all features mentioned in the exemplary embodiments are necessary to implement the invention. Rather, they will understand that individual features mentioned in the exemplary embodiments, in combination with the features listed in the general description of the invention, can also contribute to the implementation of the invention.

[0085] 1. A composition for the production of water-soluble detergent tablets.

[0086] A composition for producing water-soluble detergent sheets according to the present invention is produced by closely mixing the components listed in Table 1 below.

[0087] Table 1. Composition of the composition used in the production of water-soluble detergent sheets

[0088]

[0089] Weigh the powdered raw material. Dissolve the PVA in sufficient water by vigorous stirring on a mixing plate at 70°C. Once the PVA is completely dissolved, add all components except the essential oil and fragrance sac to the hot material and continue vigorous mixing. This will produce a viscous slurry; continue stirring accordingly. Cool the material while stirring. Once the temperature has dropped below 60°C, add the essential oil and fragrance sac to the hot material and continue vigorous mixing.

[0090] 2. Production of water-soluble detergent tablets (Example 1)

[0091] Water-soluble detergent sheets are produced by drying using a ceramic heating plate, a horizontal drying belt, or a drying drum. For this purpose, the desired amount / thickness / size of slurry is applied to one of these drying media. Drying is carried out at 60°C for 15 minutes. The dried water-soluble detergent sheets are then peeled off the drying media and cut to the desired size.

[0092] 3. Microstructure of textiles after washing with and without the water-soluble detergent sheets according to the present invention.

[0093] The microstructures of various textiles before and after cleaning with the water-soluble detergent sheet according to the present invention, as well as those not cleaned with the water-soluble detergent sheet, were compared and analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

[0094] Various textile samples were washed at 40°C with different products.

[0095] Textile samples:

[0096] 1. Wool

[0097] 2. Terry cloth

[0098] 3. T-shirt fabric

[0099] 4. Sports textiles (polyester blends / Lycra blends)

[0100] Washing products:

[0101] 1. Use commercially available laundry detergent to wash.

[0102] 2. Wash with a commercially available laundry detergent + water-soluble laundry detergent tablets (Example 1).

[0103] 3. Wash with commercially available laundry detergent and fabric softener.

[0104] 4. Control group (unwashed)

[0105] SEM

[0106] Surface characterization was performed at different locations using SEM (Quanta 3D FEG, FEI) at appropriate magnification. Before SEM observation, an ultrathin carbon film was coated on the sample surface to counteract surface charge accumulation during observation.

[0107] The results are as follows Figure 1 As shown. Figure 1 Rows 11 to 14 represent different textile samples (11: wool; 12: terry cloth; 13: T-shirt fabric; 14: sports textiles). Columns 21 to 24 represent different washing products (21: washed with commercially available detergent; 22: washed with commercially available detergent + water-soluble detergent tablets (Example 1); 23: washed with commercially available detergent and commercially available fabric softener; 24: control group (unwashed)).

[0108] For textile samples washed with the water-soluble detergent sheets according to the invention (column 22), a significant reduction in textile fiber surface residues can be observed compared to textile samples not washed with the water-soluble detergent sheets according to the invention.

[0109] The reduction in residue buildup achieved through the use of the water-soluble laundry detergent sheets according to the invention results in improved perspiration wicking because the textile fibers are not clogged by residue. The reduction in residue buildup also improves the elasticity of the textile fibers, thereby enhancing wearing comfort.

[0110] 4. Textile Performance Analysis

[0111] Sports textiles (samples 1 to 4) were washed with different washing products, and their various textile properties were then analyzed.

[0112] Washing products:

[0113] Sample 1: Washed with commercially available laundry detergent

[0114] Sample 2: Washing with commercially available laundry detergent + water-soluble laundry detergent tablets (Example 1) (according to the present invention)

[0124]

[0125] 4.2 Buffering effect of liquid sweat – Buffering index K f (-), sweat absorption (g)

[0126] For the physiological behavior of clothing and the wearing performance of textiles worn close to the skin, it depends not only on their steady-state thermophysiological properties, but also on their ability to buffer the increase in humidity in the microclimate near the skin and maintain humidity and temperature within a range that allows for subjective wearing comfort when the wearer experiences sweat pulses due to physical activity.

[0127] Buffer index K f This is used to record the degree of sweating and the appearance of liquid sweat on the wearer's skin. Under specific climatic conditions, the amount of liquid sweat (in grams) carried away from the skin by textiles per square meter per hour can be calculated.

[0128] Testing instrument: Human skin temperature regulation model (skin model)

[0129] Test conditions: According to EN 18534:2022 A Method A

[0130] Test environment: 35°C; 30% relative humidity

[0131] Test objective: The average of three separate measurements taken at three different locations for each sample.

[0132] The results are shown in Table 3.

[0133] Table 3
