A method for simultaneously degrading iodine source pollutants and adsorbing and removing iodine products by catalyzing PMS based on ferric chloride and biochar
By utilizing the ternary synergistic mechanism of ferric chloride and biochar to catalyze PMS, the problems of low removal efficiency of iopamidol and the risk of iodinated byproduct formation in existing technologies are solved, achieving efficient degradation and adsorption removal of iodine-source pollutants and ensuring water quality safety.

Abstract
This application relates to the field of water treatment technology, specifically a method for the simultaneous degradation of iodine-based pollutants and adsorption removal of iodine products using ferric chloride and biochar-catalyzed PMS. The method includes the following steps: S1, adding iodine-based pollutants to water, replenishing water, and adjusting the pH to obtain a simulated polluted water sample; S2, under stirring conditions, adding biochar, ferric chloride solution, and PMS solution to the simulated polluted water sample obtained in step S1 to obtain a reaction solution, allowing the mixture to react, standing to precipitate, and collecting the supernatant. This method achieves a removal rate of over 96% for iopamidol, and the content of iodide ions and iodates in the polluted water sample is extremely low.
