A spiral tube heat exchanger

Abstract

A wound tube heat exchanger includes: a shell-side cylinder; a first heat exchange tube assembly axially disposed in the upper space of the shell-side cylinder; a second heat exchange tube assembly axially disposed in the lower space of the shell-side cylinder; a manifold extending circumferentially along the shell-side cylinder and having an internal channel is provided between the first and second heat exchange tube assemblies within the shell-side cylinder; a central through-hole formed by the manifold connects the upper and lower spaces of the shell-side cylinder; the upper wall of the manifold supports the lower end of the first heat exchange tube assembly, and the lower wall of the manifold supports the upper end of the second heat exchange tube assembly; a separator is disposed within the channel of the manifold to divide the channel into an independent first channel and a second channel; the first channel connects to the lower end of the first heat exchange tube assembly and is connected to a first tube-side connector; the second channel connects to the upper end of the second heat exchange tube assembly and is connected to a second tube-side connector. This invention can improve the utilization rate of the internal space of the shell-side cylinder and reduce the equipment height.
