Abstract

The present invention describes a vehicle body frame (102) adapted for mounting a battery (120). A mounting structure (230) of the frame (102) connects the left front portion (224F) of a left lower tube (216L) to the right front portion (228F) of a right lower tube (216R). A left extended frame member (236L) and a right extended frame member (236R) extend rearward from a left upper tube (204L) and a right upper tube (204R), respectively, to a first crossmember (238). A first mounting bracket (256) extends rearward from the mounting structure (230) and is adapted for mounting the front mounting member (258) of the battery (120). A second mounting bracket (265) extends forward from the first crossbar (238) and is adapted to mount a rear mounting element (266) of the battery (120).
