Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a rear spoiler for a motor vehicle according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] JP 2011-105045 A discloses a rear spoiler for a motor vehicle, comprising an outer part and an inner part, the inner part being connected to a body structure by a frame via clip connections. Furthermore, DE 10 2008 036 283 A1 discloses a multi-part rear spoiler whose front part is integrated into a tailgate. Both rear spoiler designs are complex and therefore expensive to assemble.
[0003] The object of the invention is to provide a rear spoiler on a tailgate for a motor vehicle, which can be positioned relative to the vehicle roof and to the vehicle outer surface in a fixed connection to a tailgate frame.
[0004] This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Further advantageous features are contained in the subclaims.
[0005] The main advantages achieved by the invention are that a connection concept consisting of stationary receptacles and corresponding locking lugs on the spoiler ensures a precise positioning relative to the vehicle. This is achieved according to the invention by connecting the inner part to a continuous, transversely aligned retaining strip, which is attached to the upper side of a transversely extending upper tailgate frame. This strip has locally U-shaped insertion receptacles, into which protruding locking lugs on a front edge of the inner part of the rear spoiler engage in a connected position.
[0006] In particular, the invention provides that the locking lugs are arranged on the front edge of a rim on one leg of the inner part in the central region, as well as at the free ends of the inner part. They are located opposite the U-shaped insertion receptacles aligned in the vehicle's longitudinal direction and can be inserted into the receptacles for connection. The U-shaped receptacles in the retaining strip are fixed locally to the frame, ensuring precise alignment of the inner part and thus the rear spoiler. The locking lugs are inserted into the receptacles in a simple assembly process by pushing them from the rear in the vehicle's longitudinal direction.
[0007] To ensure the inner part's leg is flush with the frame, the U-shaped mounts are arranged in trough-shaped recesses in the frame. Sections of the retaining strip located between the mounts are positioned higher, supporting the leg sections located between the inner part's locking lugs. This ensures even support across the sections on the retaining strip.
[0008] According to the invention, the inner part of the rear spoiler is connected to the tailgate frame by connecting the inner part of the spoiler to the tailgate frame via a lateral screw connection aligned in the vehicle's longitudinal direction and via an angled screw connection. This creates a firm connection between the inner part of the rear spoiler and the tailgate frame.
[0009] The outer part of the rear spoiler is supported at the top of the tailgate frame in the front area (as seen in the direction of travel), and in the middle area is connected to a U-shaped, transversely extending, raised portion of the inner part. At the rear, the outer part is also connected to the inner part. The connection is preferably made by adhesives or similar means.
[0010] To ensure precise positioning of the spoiler on the vehicle or on the tailgate, the position of the rear spoiler on the tailgate frame in the x-direction is determined by the U-shaped mounts in the retaining strip and by the screw connection between the inner part and the tailgate frame.
[0011] The flush positioning of the outer section of the rear spoiler with the roof of the vehicle in the y-direction is determined by the height of the U-shaped mounts of the retaining strip and the locking lugs in the inner section. This fixation of the rear spoiler, on the one hand via the locking lugs that can be inserted into the U-shaped mounts and on the other hand via the screw connections, ensures an optimal position of the rear spoiler on the vehicle.
[0012] An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings and is described in more detail below.
[0013] They show: Fig. 1 a diagrammatic representation of a rear spoiler seen from above, Fig. 2 a view of a tailgate frame with attached retaining strip and U-shaped insertion receptacles, Fig. 3 an enlarged view of the frame with retaining strip as well as an x-screw connection and an angled screw connection of the inner part, Fig. 4 a view of the inner part of the rear spoiler with protruding locking lugs arranged on one leg and Fig. 5 a section along the line VV of the Fig. 1 or partly the Fig. 2 by a connection between the locking lug and the insertion receptacle.
[0014] A rear spoiler 1 for a motor vehicle is arranged on the upper side of a tailgate or rear end of a motor vehicle and is connected to the tailgate frame 2 or a body shell of the vehicle. The rear spoiler 1 consists of an outer part 3 with an air deflection surface 4 and an inner part 5. The outer and inner parts 3, 5 are attached to one another, for example, by adhesives or other types of connection. A rear window 9 is held in a sealed manner on the inner part 5 and is supported on the inside of the tailgate frame 2 via an elastic seal.
[0015] The inner part 5 of the rear spoiler 1 is connected to a transversely aligned retaining strip 10, for example, via rivets, although watertight screw connections are also possible. The inner part 5 is preferably made of a plastic part. In particular, the retaining strip 10 is attached to an upper side of the tailgate frame 2, which runs transversely to the vehicle.
[0016] The retaining strip 10 has U-shaped insertion receptacles 12 in cross-section, which extend in the vehicle's longitudinal direction L and are designed in the shape of a shoe. In a connecting position I, locking lugs 14 of the inner part 5 engage in these insertion receptacles 12, as shown in FIG. Fig. 5 shows in more detail.
[0017] The locking lugs 14 are arranged on a front edge 15 of a leg 16 of the inner part 5, which is aligned approximately in a horizontal plane, and extend freely and protrude in a recess 17. One locking lug 14 is arranged at the free lateral end of the inner part 5, and further locking lugs 14 are arranged in the central region of the inner part 5.
[0018] These locking lugs 14 are located opposite the U-shaped insertion receptacles 12 in the holding strip 10 and can be inserted into the insertion receptacles 12 from the rear in the direction of travel in order to take up the connection point I.
[0019] The U-shaped insertion receptacles 12 of the retaining strip 10 are each arranged in a trough-shaped recess 18 of the inner part 5. Sections 19 of the retaining strip 10 located between the receptacles 12 are designed to be elevated. Section 19a of the leg 16 rests on these sections 19.
[0020] The inner part 5 of the spoiler 1 is connected to the tailgate frame 2 via screw connections 20 aligned in the vehicle's longitudinal direction L, as well as via diagonal screw connections 21. The screw connections 20, 21 are surrounded by corresponding circles, which is shown in the Fig. 3 and Fig. 4 is shown in more detail.
[0021] The position of the rear spoiler 1 on the tailgate frame 2 is determined in the x-direction by the U-shaped insertion receptacles 12 in the retaining strip 10 and the inserted locking lugs 14 as well as by the screw connections 20 between the inner part 5 and the tailgate frame 2. Furthermore, a flush mounting of the outer part 3 of the rear spoiler 1 to the roof 23 of the vehicle in the y-direction is determined by the height of the U-shaped insertion receptacles 12 in the retaining strip and by the inserted locking lugs 14 on the inner part 5.
