Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a drainage device according to the preamble of claim 1 and to an arrangement of such a drainage device adjacent to a wall at least partially in a floor of a room.

[0002] Drainage devices that have a drain opening near the bottom edge of the wall are also called wall drains. Such wall drains are usually fully or partially integrated into the wall. Placing a drain device in the floor in front of the wall while retaining a drain opening on the wall is currently rare due to technical challenges.

[0003] The positioning of a drain with a wall-side drain opening in front of the wall has so far been poorly implemented, particularly in terms of quality, because the drain's accessibility is severely limited by the thickness of the walls and floors. At the time of drain installation, it is often not yet clear which tiles will be used in the future. It also happens that the tile design, size, and thickness are subject to change.

[0004] A subsequent increase in tile thickness proves particularly problematic, because a drain housing for the drainage system is usually already pre-installed in the screed. If a subsequent increase in tile thickness results in the distance between the trap opening and the wall becoming so small that there is an overlap between the wall-facing end of the trap and the horizontal bottom edge of the wall tile, the trap can no longer be removed for cleaning.

[0005] A drainage device of the type mentioned above is known from DE 601 15 636 T2. The drainage devices described therein can be mounted adjacent to a wall in the floor of a room. They comprise a channel with a horizontal flange for the installation of floor tiles and a vertical flange for the installation of wall tiles. A drain housing is arranged below the channel, into which an odor trap can be inserted.

[0006] DE 297 22 117 U1 discloses a drain device that can be mounted in the floor of a room. The drain device comprises a grate arranged on its upper side, through which water can enter the drain device. The drain device further comprises an eccentric ring that allows the grate to move horizontally to adapt its position to the tile pattern of the floor covering.

[0007] The problem underlying the present invention is to create a drainage device of the type mentioned above, which allows adaptation to the installation situation, in particular to different thicknesses of the wall tiles, with regard to the positioning of the odor trap. Furthermore, the aforementioned arrangement of the drainage device adjacent to a wall, at least partially in the floor of a room, is to be specified.

[0008] This is achieved with regard to the drainage device by a drainage device of the type mentioned at the outset with the characterizing features of claim 1, and with regard to the arrangement by an arrangement of the type mentioned at the outset with the characterizing features of claim 4. The subclaims relate to preferred embodiments of the invention.

[0009] According to claim 1, the drain device comprises a cover which, when the drain device is installed, is removably arranged horizontally next to the drainage channel and above the odor trap, the odor trap, when installed in the first position, has a different distance from the wall or parts of the wall than in the second position, and the receiving means comprise at least one receiving frame with an opening through which the odor trap protrudes at least partially when the drain device is installed, wherein the opening is not arranged symmetrically in the receiving frame, so that the at least one receiving frame can be positioned in two different positions relative to the drain housing, wherein a first position of the receiving frame corresponds to the first position of the odor trap and a second position of the receiving frame corresponds to the second position of the odor trap,or that the receiving means comprise at least two different receiving frames with an opening through which the odor trap can at least partially protrude, wherein the at least two different receiving frames differ in that an odor trap inserted into a first of the receiving frames can be in the first position and an odor trap inserted into a second of the receiving frames can be in the second position. The drainage device according to the invention thus offers the possibility of responding to changing tile thicknesses even subsequently.

[0010] The drain device can be positioned on the plaster in front of the wall and have a wall-side drain opening. The design according to the invention can nevertheless offer the possibility of positioning the odor trap in the drain housing in such a way that it can be removed for cleaning, especially when using thicker tiles and tile adhesives.

[0011] Even if the tile thickness becomes thinner than originally planned, the inventive design offers the possibility of flexible adaptation. In this case, the trap can be positioned closer to the wall. This has the advantage that a cover or drain grate placed over the trap, for example, can be positioned closer to the wall, creating a more visually appealing impression by reducing the drain gap.

[0012] By choosing the appropriate mounting frame or the position of the mounting frame, the position of the odor trap can be adjusted.

[0013] By positioning at least one support frame in two different positions relative to the drain body, two different positions of the odor trap can be achieved using a single support frame. A support frame designed in this way allows for a suitable position for the odor trap to be selected for different tile thicknesses.

[0014] By using different mounting frames, a suitable position for the trap can be found for a variety of tile thicknesses. During on-site installation, a suitable mounting frame can be selected from a variety of mounting frames, ensuring that the trap can be removed in the appropriate position.

[0015] Claim 4 provides that a drainage opening is arranged in the wall between the underside of at least one wall tile and the floor level, which drainage opening is designed, in particular, as a narrow gap between the cover and the underside of at least one wall tile. This results in an attractive appearance of the arrangement.

[0016] Further features and advantages of the present invention will become clear from the following description of preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. Fig. 1 is an exploded perspective view of a drainage device according to the invention; Fig. 2 a cross-section through a drainage device according to the invention in the installed state with a receiving frame in a first position; Fig. 2a a detailed enlargement of the Fig. 2; Fig. 3 a Fig. 2 corresponding view of the drain device with the receiving frame in a second position; Fig. 3a a detailed enlargement of the Fig. 3; Fig. 4 an enlarged perspective section through the device according to Fig. 2 with the mounting frame in the first position; Fig. 5 a schematic plan view of the drainage device according to Fig. 2; Fig. 6 a bottom view of two different receiving frames for a drainage device according to the invention; Fig. 7 a plan view of the two different mounting frames according to Fig. 6; Fig. 8 a section according to arrows VIII-VIII in Fig. 7.

[0017] In the figures, identical or functionally identical parts are provided with the same reference symbols.

[0018] Out of Fig. 1 shows that a drainage device according to the invention comprises a drain housing 1, which can be connected to an on-site drain pipe (not shown) via a drain connection 2. The drain housing 1 has a water inlet opening 3 on its upper side with a receiving part 4 surrounding this water inlet opening 3.

[0019] The receiving part 4 is firmly connected to the drain housing 1, for example, by adhesive bonding. It is entirely possible for the drain housing 1 and the receiving part 4 to be formed as a single piece, so that the receiving part 4 is designed as part of the drain housing 1. In this case, the drain housing 1 can, for example, have a support shoulder surrounding the water inlet opening 3.

[0020] In the embodiment shown in the figure, the upper end of the drain body 1 and the receiving part 4 is surrounded by an inlet collar 5 (see Fig. 1). The inlet collar 5 is a substantially flat part with a rectangular outline. Attached to the underside of the inlet collar 5 are four support feet 6, which are, in particular, height-adjustable. Furthermore, gratings 7 projecting outward from the inlet collar 5 are connected to the inlet collar 5 and surround the inlet collar 5. The gratings 7 serve to better anchor the drainage device in a floor structure, whereby, if necessary, an inclination of the floor tiles can be determined by an inclination of the gratings 7. When installed, the inlet collar 5 and the gratings 7 are located in the screed 8 (see Fig. 2 to Fig. 4).

[0021] It is certainly possible to omit the gratings 7 and / or the inlet collar 5 in a drainage device according to the invention.

[0022] The drainage device further comprises a drainage channel 9 through which the water can flow into the water inlet opening 3. The drainage channel 9 is open upwards and on the side facing away from the wall (see Fig. 4). The drainage channel 9 has a substantially L-shaped cross-section, with a vertical leg 9a, when installed, which projects upwards into the wall structure 10, and a horizontal leg 9b serving as the channel bottom in the area of the water inlet opening 3.

[0023] The horizontal leg is designed differently outside the area of the water inlet opening 3. There, it has a section 9c extending upwards in a quadrilateral shape and a horizontal section 9d extending under the floor tiles 20 (see Fig. 3a). The quadrilateral section 9c, which extends upwards in a quadrilateral shape, can prevent water from running out of the drainage channel 9 on the tile side. The horizontal section 9d, which extends beneath the floor tiles 20, serves to secure the drainage channel 9.

[0024] In the illustrated embodiment, the drainage channel 9 is integrated into the wall structure 10. In the illustrated embodiment, the wall structure comprises from left to right in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 or from the inside to the outside the brick wall 11, a plaster 12 applied thereon, a decoupling strip 13, a plurality of sealing tapes 14, a tile adhesive 15 and wall tiles 16 applied thereon.

[0025] The drainage channel 9 is located with its Fig. 2 to Fig. 4 left side or with its side facing the wall to the sealing strips 14, wherein the vertical leg 9a of the drainage channel 9 projects upwards behind the lowest wall tile 16 and is surrounded by two of the sealing strips 14. Alternatively, the vertical leg 9a can end below the lowest wall tile 16. The horizontal leg 9b of the drainage channel 9, which serves as the channel base, is arranged below the lowest wall tile 16 so that the drainage channel 9 does not protrude beyond the wall tile 16 into the room. In the illustrated embodiment, a tile finishing strip 17 is arranged below the lowest wall tile 16. Between the underside of the tile finishing strip 17 or between the underside of the lowest wall tile 16 and the horizontal leg 9b serving as the gutter base, a drainage opening 18 is formed through which water can flow into the drainage channel 9 integrated into the wall structure 10.

[0026] Next to the drainage channel 9, a cover 19 is arranged, the upper side of which, in the illustrated embodiment, is at the same height as the upper side of the floor tiles 20. Accordingly, the water to be drained off the floor tiles 20 can pass over the cover 19 through the drainage opening 18 into the drainage channel 9. In this case, the Fig. 2 to Fig. 4 left or wall side of the cover 19 essentially with the Fig. 2 to Fig. 4 right or wall-facing side of the wall tiles 16. This creates a drainage opening 18, which is arranged as a narrow gap in the wall at its lower end (see for example Fig. 2a and Fig. 4).

[0027] The one facing the wall or the one in Fig. 2 to Fig. 4 The left side of the cover 19 is beveled so that water in the drainage channel 9 can flow under the bevel 31 of the cover 19 to the water inlet opening 3. When installed, the cover 19 can rest loosely on parts of the drainage device or the floor, allowing it to be removed upwards.

[0028] In the illustrated embodiment, the cover 19 is formed by a surrounding frame 21 into which an insert 22 can be inserted. The insert 22 can be made of the same material as the floor tiles. However, the cover can also be designed differently, for example, as a one-piece metal part.

[0029] The drainage device further comprises a receiving frame 24 provided with an opening 23, which, when installed, is inserted into a recess of the receiving part 4. The receiving frame has an upper, circumferential collar 25 and a circumferential surface 26 extending downwards from this in the installed state (see Fig. 8).

[0030] In the illustrated embodiment, a circumferential seal 27 is arranged on the inside of the receiving part 4, which seals the receiving frame 24 against the receiving part 4. The seal 27 can be designed as a fixed or loose seal.

[0031] Alternatively, the receiving frame 24 can have a circumferential seal (not shown). This could be arranged on the underside of the collar 25 or on the outside of the surface 26. Alternatively, the receiving frame 24 can be glued into the receiving part 4. For this purpose, adhesive can be applied to the underside of the circumferential collar 25 and / or circumferentially to the vertical surface 26.

[0032] The drainage device further comprises an odor trap 28, which is held by its upper edge in the opening 23 of the receiving frame 24 when installed, with the remaining sections of the odor trap 28 projecting downwards through the receiving frame 24. To hold the odor trap 28, the receiving frame 24 has circumferential shoulders 32 projecting into the opening 23 and a central transverse web 33 (see Fig. 7). Matching the web 33, the odor trap 28 has a notch 34 (see Fig. 1), into which the web 33 can engage.

[0033] The opening 23 of the receiving frame 24 is elongated oval and delimited by lateral longitudinal sections 29, 30 (see for example Fig. 1 and Fig. 5). The opening 23 is preferably not arranged symmetrically in the receiving frame 24 (see Fig. 1). It can be seen that the first longitudinal section 29 has a greater width than the second longitudinal section 30 (see also Fig. 7 and Fig. 8).

[0034] Due to this design, the distance of the opening 23 to the wall can be changed by rotating the receiving frame 24 by 180° in the vertical direction. Fig. Figure 2a shows the first position of the receiving frame 24, in which the first, wider longitudinal section 29 is arranged on the side facing away from the wall and the second, narrower longitudinal section 30 is arranged on the wall side. In this first position, the opening 23 is thus comparatively close to the wall.

[0035] In particular, the distance a1 between the wall-side boundary of the opening 23 or the odor trap 28 located in the opening 23 and the decoupling strip 13, which represents the outer boundary of the wall at this height, is smaller than the distance a2 in the second position. Fig. In the second position shown in Figure 3a, the second, narrower longitudinal section 30 is arranged on the side facing away from the wall, and the first, wider longitudinal section 29 is arranged on the wall side. In this second position, the opening 23 is thus comparatively far away from the wall.

[0036] In the installation situation according to Fig. 2a shows a thinner wall tile than in the installation situation according to Fig. 3a. It can be seen that the different widths of the longitudinal sections 29, 30 and the different positions of the receiving frame 24 ensure that the distance b1, b2 between the wall-side boundary of the opening 23 and the Fig. 2 to Fig. 4 right or wall-facing side of the wall tiles 16 is sufficiently large in both cases to remove the odor trap 28 upwards after removing the cover 19.

[0037] Fig. 6 to Fig. 8 each show two different receiving frames 24, 24'. These receiving frames 24, 24' differ in the different widths of both the first longitudinal sections 29, 29' and the second longitudinal sections 30, 30'. Fig. 7 left-hand mounting frame 24 has the widest longitudinal section with the first longitudinal section 29, which can accordingly ensure a position of the opening 23 very far from the wall. Fig. 7 right receiving frame 24' has a slightly less wide first longitudinal section 29', which can ensure a position of the opening 23' slightly less far from the wall.

[0038] The Fig. 7 right-hand support frame 24' furthermore has a slightly narrower second longitudinal section 30', which can ensure a slightly closer position of the opening 23' to the wall. Fig. 7 left-hand receiving frame 24 also has the narrowest longitudinal section with the second longitudinal section 30, which can accordingly ensure a position of the opening 23 arranged very close to the wall.

[0039] By using different mounting frames 24, 24', the user is given the opportunity to adapt the distance a1, a2 of the opening 23, 23' or the odor trap 28 from the wall even better to the local conditions.

[0040] The installation of a drainage device according to the invention is carried out by mounting the drain housing 1 on the subfloor before applying the screed and connecting it to a drainpipe in a first process step. The screed is then applied to the subfloor so that the inlet collar and the gratings are at least partially surrounded by the screed. Subsequently, the entire floor and wall area, including the already installed drain components, are sealed.

[0041] The drainage channel 9 is mounted adjacent to the plastered wall together with the sealing strips 14. The wall tiles 16 are then applied, allowing the vertical leg 9a of the drainage channel 9 to be covered if necessary.

[0042] The receiving frame 24 is inserted such that the wall-facing end of the odor trap 28 to be inserted into the receiving frame 24 has a sufficient horizontal distance b1, b2 from the outside of the wall tile 16 so that it can still be removed upwards. Alternatively, a suitable receiving frame 24, 24' is selected from a plurality of receiving frames 24, 24', which, in the appropriate position, ensures the removability of the odor trap 28.

[0043] The mounting frame 24, 24' is then glued into the mounting part 4 or the top of the casserole housing 1 or secured using seals 27. The odor trap 28 is inserted, and the cover 19 is loosely placed on top of the odor trap 28. The floor tiles 20 can then be trimmed to fit the cover 19.

[0044] The design according to the invention ensures that the odor trap 28 can be removed and cleaned at any time after removing the cover 19, despite the drainage device being installed very close to the wall.
