Technical field

[0001] The present disclosure concerns the field of display technologies and relates in particular to a liquid crystal display array and a display device. background

[0002] A liquid crystal display (LCD) array generally comprises an array substrate and a counter-substrate positioned opposite the array substrate, as well as a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the array substrate and the counter-substrate. Typically, the LCD array is divided into a display area and a frame surrounding the display area, which houses peripheral circuitry. A frame sealant in the frame seals the liquid crystals within the display area. Generally, an image-related electric field is applied to and controlled by the display array to selectively transmit light rays through the display area, thus displaying an image. However, no light can pass through the frame. As the resolution of the liquid crystal display field decreases, a phenomenon called Mura (uneven display) occurs, in which black spots appear in a grayscale image on the liquid crystal display field, impairing the clarity of the image display.

[0003] DE 10 2011 056 830 A1 discloses a liquid crystal display device comprising: an array substrate having gate lines and data lines that intersect to define a pixel area, and a thin-film transistor and a pixel electrode in the pixel area; a counter-substrate opposite the array substrate having a black matrix corresponding to a boundary of the pixel area, and a color filter layer filling an area surrounded by the black matrix; a structured spacer on the black matrix having a rhombus shape in the plane; and a liquid crystal layer between the array substrate and the counter-substrate, wherein the structured spacer corresponds to an intersection area of the gate lines with the data lines, and corners of the rhombus shape of the structured spacer are located on the gate lines and the data lines.

[0004] CN 1 04 914 613 A describes a display device comprising a pixel display area with at least two pixels, which include a plurality of subpixels, and a color layer with a matrix section and a magnification section, wherein the magnification section is located at a junction between two adjacent subpixels and adjacent to the matrix section, and the matrix section defines the subpixels; the total area of the subpixels is a first area, and the ratio between the area of the magnification section and the first area is 1.5% to 6%.

[0005] From US patent 2015 / 0205160A1, a liquid crystal display is known which comprises: a plurality of red pixel areas, a plurality of green pixel areas, a plurality of blue pixel areas, and a light-blocking element that defines the plurality of red pixel areas, the plurality of green pixel areas, and the plurality of blue pixel areas therein, and an extension section that overlaps a spacer that maintains a cell spacing and is provided between the plurality of green pixel areas and the plurality of blue pixel areas and between the plurality of red pixel areas and the plurality of green pixel areas.

[0006] US Patent 2016 / 0103352A1 discloses the following: red pixels (R), blue pixels (B), and green pixels (G) are formed in parallel. First columnar spacers and second columnar spacers are formed on a first substrate. The distance between the first substrate and a second substrate in a normal state is determined by the first columnar spacers. The diameter of a light-blocking film corresponding to each first columnar spacer is larger than the diameter of a light-blocking film corresponding to each second columnar spacer. The first columnar spacer is not formed at a boundary between a green pixel (G) and a red pixel (R) or at a boundary between a green pixel (G) and a blue pixel (B). The second columnar spacer is formed at a boundary between pixels, regardless of pixel color. In this way, an appropriate color balance can easily be achieved without a drop in luminance. Summary

Detailed description of the embodiments

[0008] Embodiments of the disclosure provide a liquid crystal display field and a display device to address the Mura phenomenon in the existing liquid crystal display field.

[0009] One embodiment of the disclosure provides a liquid crystal display field comprising: an array substrate and an oppositely arranged supersubstrate, as well as a liquid crystal layer, a spacer layer and a black matrix layer covering the spacer layer, located between the array substrate and the supersubstrate. The display further comprises several sub-pixels between the array substrate and the top substrate, the sub-pixels comprising at least three variants: the red sub-pixels, the green sub-pixels, and the blue sub-pixels; the spacer layer comprises several primary spacers and several secondary spacers; and overlapping areas between the black matrix layer, at the positions of the primary spacers, and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate are equally overlapping areas between the black matrix element, at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers, and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate.

[0010] Accordingly, one embodiment of the disclosure further provides a display device comprising the liquid crystal display field described above. If there is a difference between an area of a sub-pixel belonging to a color that is overlapped by a black matrix at a position of a primary spacer black matrix element and the areas of the sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix element at corresponding positions of the secondary spacers, where there are larger placement areas of the primary spacers, then the brightness at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers may be lower than the brightness at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers.

[0011] In reality, however, the human eye is more sensitive to green light. Because the brightness difference is represented in a different color due to the area difference on the sub-pixels, the brightness difference may not be easily perceptible to the human eye, and only when the brightness difference is represented on the green sub-pixels is the visual brightness difference possibly apparent. Accordingly, in the technical solutions according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the overlapping areas between the black matrix element at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate are equal to the overlapping areas between the black matrix element at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate, that is, the areas of the green sub-pixels,The areas occupied by the black matrix element at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers are equal to the areas of the green sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix element at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers, thus addressing the visual brightness difference for the human eye resulting from the different placement areas between the primary and secondary spacers and therefore the Mura phenomenon in the existing liquid crystal display field.

[0012] To ensure a uniform thickness of the liquid crystal layer, spacers were arranged in a liquid crystal display panel to support the liquid crystal layer. These spacers comprised primary spacers as the main supports and secondary spacers as additional supports. The inventors of this disclosure, in their research on existing liquid crystal displays, found that the occurrence of dark spots in the Mura phenomenon corresponds to the placement distribution of primary spacers in the liquid crystal display panel. That is, the Mura phenomenon in the liquid crystal display panel is dependent on the arrangement of the spacers. Since it is necessary to place the spacers in the display panel, the Mura phenomenon cannot be addressed simply by removing the spacers.Further research has shown that a white image without dark spots is displayed when spacers are placed between red and blue subpixels. Uniform dark spots can therefore be masked by the brightness of the green subpixels, making them less visible in the white image due to the human eye's greater sensitivity to green. When a green, a red, and a blue image are displayed simultaneously, uniform dark spots are visible in descending order of intensity in the green, red, and blue images. The research has shown that uniform dark spots are more noticeable when the placement areas of the primary and secondary spacers differ significantly.Accordingly, the research above has shown that uniform dark spots appear on the existing liquid crystal display field both because of the different placement area between the primary and secondary spacers and because of the placement of the spacers.

[0013] Based on the research above, embodiments of the disclosure provide a liquid crystal display field and a display device in which the Mura phenomenon in the existing liquid crystal display field can be reduced by specifying the placement of spacers.

[0014] To better illustrate the tasks, technical solutions, and advantages of the disclosure, it is described in more detail below with reference to the drawings. The embodiments described below are clearly only a part and not all embodiments of the disclosure. Based on the embodiments of this disclosure, all other embodiments that a person skilled in the art could conceive without creative effort fall within the scope of protection of the claimed disclosure.

[0015] The shapes and sizes of the respective components in the drawings are not intended to represent their actual proportions, but are only meant to illustrate the content of the disclosure.

[0016] One embodiment of the disclosure presents a liquid crystal display field as in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 shown ready, whereby Fig. 1 a cross-sectional view of a schematic structural representation of a liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure, and Fig. 2 a top view of a schematic structural representation of a liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure; wherein the liquid crystal display field comprises an array substrate 01 and an oppositely arranged supersubstrate 02, as well as a liquid crystal layer 03, a spacer layer having several spacers supporting the liquid crystal layer, wherein the several spacers comprise several primary spacers (041) and several secondary spacers (042), as well as a black matrix layer with several black matrix elements 05 on the spacer layer (041 and 042), all of which are located between the array substrate 01 and the supersubstrate 02.

[0017] Furthermore, a sub-pixel layer with several sub-pixels 06 in at least red (R), green (G) and blue (B) color variants is arranged between the array substrate 01 and the upper substrate 02.

[0018] wherein an overlapping area between one of the several black matrix elements 05 and a green sub-pixel 06 near one of the several primary spacers 041 under said matrix element 05 forms a first overlapping area, and wherein an overlapping area between one of the several black matrix elements 05 and a green sub-pixel 06 near one of the several secondary spacers 042 under said matrix element 05 forms a second overlapping area, and the first overlapping area is equal to the second overlapping area.

[0019] Optionally, the overlapping area between each of the multiple black matrix elements 05 and a green sub-pixel 06 near one of the multiple primary spacers 041 under said matrix element 05 forms a first overlapping area, and the overlapping area between each of the multiple black matrix elements 05 and a green sub-pixel 06 near one of the multiple secondary spacers 042 under said matrix element 05 forms a second overlapping area, and the first overlapping area is equal to the second overlapping area.

[0020] The liquid crystal display field according to the embodiment of the disclosure comprises an array substrate and an oppositely arranged supersubstrate, as well as the liquid crystal layer, the spacers, and the black matrix elements covering the spacers, all located between the array substrate and the supersubstrate, wherein there are several sub-pixels arranged between the array substrate and the supersubstrate in at least red, green, and blue, and the spacers comprise the primary spacers and the secondary spacers. If there is a difference between the areas of the sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix elements above the primary spacers and the areas of the sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix elements above the secondary spacers, where there are larger placement areas of the primary spacers,Then the brightness at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers can be lower than the brightness at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers. In reality, however, the human eye is sensitive to green light, so if the brightness difference is rendered in a different color due to the area difference on the sub-pixels, the brightness difference may not be easily perceptible to the human eye, and only if the brightness difference is rendered on the green sub-pixels,The visual difference in brightness may be obvious. Accordingly, in the technical solution according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the overlapping areas between the black matrix elements above the primary spacers and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate are equal to the overlapping areas between the black matrix elements above the secondary spacers and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate; that is, the first overlapping area is equal to the second overlapping area, or in other words, an area of each green sub-pixel occupied by each black matrix element above a primary spacer is equal to an area of each green sub-pixel occupied by each black matrix element above a secondary spacer. This addresses the visual brightness difference for the human eye resulting from the different placement areas between the primary and secondary spacers, and thus the Mura phenomenon in the existing liquid crystal display field.

[0021] In particular, in the liquid crystal display field according to embodiments of the disclosure, the sub-pixels in at least red, green and blue refer to at least red sub-pixels, green sub-pixels and blue sub-pixels in the liquid crystal display field, whereby, depending on the requirements, there may also be sub-pixels in other colors in a construction, e.g. white sub-pixels or yellow sub-pixels, although the embodiment of the disclosure is not limited to this.

[0022] It should be noted that an overlapping area of two objects in a direction parallel to the array substrate, as referred to in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments disclosed, refers to an overlapping area of positive projections of these two objects onto the array substrate. For example, the overlapping areas of the black matrix elements at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers and the green sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate refer to overlapping areas of positive projections of the black matrix elements at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers onto the array substrate and positive projections of the green sub-pixels onto the array substrate.

[0023] Furthermore, it should be noted that all top views in the disclosure drawings are intended to illustrate only the relative positional relationships between the spacers, the black matrix elements and the sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the plane in which the array substrate lies, but not relative positional relationships between the spacers, the black matrix elements and the sub-pixels in a direction perpendicular to the plane in which the array substrate lies, the latter of which may be defined in reality as in the existing liquid crystal display field, depending on requirements.

[0024] In particular, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the sub-pixels generally each comprise a pixel electrode, a common electrode, a color filter film, etc., and as, for example, in Fig. As shown in Figure 1, the pixel electrode 061 and the common electrode 062 are generally arranged on the array substrate 01, and the color filter film 063 is generally arranged on the top substrate 02. Furthermore, the common electrodes 062 are generally arranged as a whole in a single layer; that is, the common electrodes 062 of all sub-pixels 06 are connected in the same layer. Of course, the common electrodes can alternatively be arranged on the top substrate, and the color filter films can alternatively be arranged on the array substrate (not shown), as required in a design, although the embodiments disclosed are not limited thereto.

[0025] In the liquid crystal display array, the spacers can influence the propagation of an electric field around them in such a way that an image cannot normally be displayed in a large area around the spacers. Therefore, the spacers, and the area around them, must be covered by the black matrix elements. As in Fig. Figure 3, which is a schematic representation of the size of a spacer area relative to a black matrix in a liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure, optionally extends in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure a black matrix 05 at the corresponding positions of a spacer 04 relative to the spacer 04 by a width w of 9 µm to 12 µm to the outside.

[0026] In particular, the spacer 04 can be used in Fig. 3 can be a primary spacer or a secondary spacer. The edge of the black matrix covering the primary spacer extends 9 µm to 12 µm beyond the edge of the primary spacer, and the edge of the black matrix covering the secondary spacer extends 9 µm to 12 µm beyond the edge of the secondary spacer, so that not only can an area around the spacer 04, where an image cannot normally be displayed, be shielded, but the area of the black matrix 05 can also be reduced, thus decreasing the impact on a pixel aperture ratio.

[0027] Optional features are available in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiment of the disclosure, as described in Fig. Figure 2 shows that the primary spacers 041 are arranged at the intersection of two adjacent rows of sub-pixels 06 and two adjacent columns of sub-pixels 06. Specifically, the multiple primary spacers 041 are each arranged at the intersection of two adjacent rows of sub-pixels 06 and two adjacent columns of sub-pixels 06, such that each of the multiple primary spacers 041, of a predetermined size, occupies fewer areas of the sub-pixels 06. This reduces the areas of the sub-pixels 06 occupied by the black matrix elements 05 covering the primary spacers 041, thereby improving the pixel aperture ratio of the liquid crystal display field.

[0028] Optionally, the liquid crystal display field can be configured according to the embodiment of the disclosure, as described in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the secondary spacers 042 are also arranged at the intersection of two adjacent rows of sub-pixels 06 and two adjacent columns of sub-pixels 06. Specifically, the multiple secondary spacers 042 are each arranged at the intersection of two adjacent rows of sub-pixels 06 and two adjacent columns of sub-pixels 06, such that each of the multiple secondary spacers 042, with a predetermined size, occupies fewer areas of the sub-pixels 06. This reduces the areas of the sub-pixels 06 occupied by the black matrix elements 05 covering the secondary spacers 042, thereby improving the pixel aperture ratio of the liquid crystal display field.

[0029] If the pixels in the liquid crystal display panel are as in Fig. If the subpixels are arranged as shown in Figure 2, then the same color can be displayed at each point (pixel) by mixing light at multiple subpixels. For example, each pixel comprises a red subpixel, a green subpixel, and a blue subpixel. To improve the visual effect, there is increasing interest in the resolution (the number of pixels in a unit area) of the display field, so the size of a subpixel must become smaller. However, due to a process limitation, the size of a subpixel cannot be reduced infinitely. To improve the resolution of a given subpixel size, a virtual display implementation using the Pentile method has been proposed. In this implementation, as shown in Figure 2, the subpixels are arranged in a way that allows for the same color to be displayed at each point (pixel). Fig. Figure 4, which shows a schematic structural representation of another liquid crystal display array according to an embodiment of the disclosure in a top view, shows several sub-pixels 06 arranged on the array substrate 01 in a matrix, wherein sub-pixels 06 are defined in three rows by three columns as a pixel group 10 in which three sub-pixels 06 in each row are red (R), green (G), and blue (B), respectively, and three sub-pixels 06 in each column are red (R), green (G), and blue (B), respectively. When an image is displayed in reality, two adjacent sub-pixels 06 are defined as one pixel, and the pixel "borrows" a sub-pixel of the remaining color from an adjacent pixel to define the three primary colors, so that each pixel shares with the adjacent pixel the sub-pixel of the color that is missing in the pixel in order to display white.

[0030] If the spacers are located at the intersections of two adjacent rows of sub-pixels and two adjacent columns of sub-pixels, then, specifically in the existing liquid crystal display field using the Pentile method, the spacers each occupy at least one green sub-pixel. Therefore, if there is a difference between the sub-pixel areas occupied by the black matrix elements above the primary spacers and the sub-pixel areas occupied by the black matrix elements above the secondary spacers, then unmistakably regular black spots will appear in both a white and a green image, leading to a severe Mura phenomenon. Accordingly, in the Fig. 4. In the liquid crystal display field illustrated in the Pentile method according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the overlapping areas of the black matrix elements 05 over the primary spacers 041 and the green sub-pixels 06 in a direction parallel to the array substrate 01 are equal to the overlapping areas of the black matrix elements 05 over the secondary spacers 042 and the green sub-pixels 06 in a direction parallel to the array substrate 01, so that regardless of at which intersections of which rows and at which columns the spacers are arranged, the brightness difference visible to the human eye due to the different areas of the green sub-pixels 06, which are occupied by the black matrix elements 04 belonging to the primary spacers 041 and by the black matrix elements 05 belonging to the secondary spacers 042, can be addressed.in order to treat the serious Mura phenomenon in the existing liquid crystal display field using the Pentile method.

[0031] Optionally, the liquid crystal display field can be configured according to the embodiments of the disclosure, as described in Fig. Figure 5 shows a top view of a schematic structural representation of another liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure, showing only one green sub-pixel 06 among four sub-pixels 06 adjacent to a primary spacer 041.Since the human eye is particularly sensitive to green light, smaller areas of the green sub-pixels 06 can be occupied by the black matrix elements 05 associated with the primary spacers 041. This results in a smaller difference between the aperture ratio of the green sub-pixels 061 that overlap with the black matrix elements 05 and the aperture ratio of the green sub-pixels 061 that do not overlap with the black matrix elements 05 in the liquid crystal display field, thereby improving the uniformity of brightness in the liquid crystal display field.

[0032] Optionally, the liquid crystal display field can be configured according to the embodiments of the disclosure, as described in Fig. Figure 5 shows that several secondary spacers 042 are arranged at the intersections of two adjacent rows of sub-pixels 06 and two adjacent columns of sub-pixels 06, and only one green sub-pixel 06 is arranged below four sub-pixels 06 adjacent to a secondary spacer 042.Since the human eye is particularly sensitive to green light, smaller areas of the green sub-pixels 06 can be occupied by the black matrix elements 05 associated with the secondary spacers 042.

[0033] Optionally, the liquid crystal display field can be configured according to the embodiments of the disclosure, as described in Fig. Figure 6, which shows a schematic structural representation of another liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure in a top view, shows no overlapping areas of the primary spacers 041 and the green sub-pixels 06 in the direction parallel to the array substrate. In particular, the overlapping areas of the primary spacers 041 and the green sub-pixels 06 in the direction parallel to the array substrate are reduced, also for the purpose of smaller areas of the green sub-pixels 06 that are occupied by the black matrix element 05 belonging to the primary spacers 041, in order to improve the uniformity of the brightness of the liquid crystal display field.

[0034] To ensure that there are no overlapping areas of the primary spacers 041 and the green sub-pixels 06 in a parallel direction to the array substrate 01, as in Fig. As shown in Figure 6, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the primary spacers 041 can be shifted upwards towards the sub-pixels in colors other than green. This means that the primary spacers 041 do not occupy the green sub-pixels 06, at the cost of a certain reduction in the aperture ratios of the sub-pixels 06 in the other colors. Although the aperture ratios of the sub-pixels 06 in the other colors are reduced compared to the existing liquid crystal display field, this will not be easily perceptible to the human eye, which is insensitive to light in these colors.

[0035] Optionally, the liquid crystal display field overlaps according to the embodiments of the disclosure, as described in Fig. Figure 6 illustrates that at least one of the several secondary spacers 042 does not overlap with the green sub-pixels 06 in a direction parallel to the array substrate. In particular, the overlapping areas of the secondary spacers 042 and the green sub-pixels 06 in a direction parallel to the array substrate are reduced, also for the purpose of smaller areas of the green sub-pixels 06 that are occupied by the black matrix element 05 belonging to the secondary spacers 042, in order to improve the uniformity of the brightness of the liquid crystal display field.

[0036] To ensure that there are no overlapping areas of the secondary spacers and the green sub-pixels parallel to the array substrate, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the secondary spacers can, in particular, be shifted upwards towards the sub-pixels in colors other than green. That is, the secondary spacers do not occupy the green sub-pixels, at the cost of a certain reduction in the aperture ratios of the sub-pixels in the other colors. Although the aperture ratios of the sub-pixels in the other colors are reduced compared to the existing liquid crystal display field, this will not be easily perceptible to the human eye, which is insensitive to light in these colors.

[0037] If there are large placement areas for the secondary spacers in the liquid crystal display array, then optionally at least one of the secondary spacers can have a cutout area to prevent overlap with adjacent green sub-pixels of the secondary spacers. Compared to the existing liquid crystal display array, those parts of the secondary spacers that overlap with the green sub-pixels are accordingly cut away, so that there are no overlapping areas of the secondary spacers and the green sub-pixels parallel to the array substrate, without compromising the aperture ratios of the sub-pixels in the other colors.

[0038] Although the aperture ratio of the green sub-pixels can be improved by reducing the overlapping areas of the spacers and the green sub-pixels, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the aperture ratios of the sub-pixels are still directly determined by the overlapping areas of the black matrix elements and the sub-pixels, and although the overlapping areas of the black matrix elements and the green sub-pixels can be reduced if there are no overlapping areas of the spacers and the green sub-pixels, the black matrix elements will not overlap with the green sub-pixels because the coverage areas of the black matrix elements are larger than those of the spacers.

[0039] Accordingly, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, there are optionally no overlapping areas of the black matrix elements 05 at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers 041 and the green sub-pixels 06 in a direction parallel to the array substrate, and no overlapping areas of the black matrix element 05 at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers 042 and the green sub-pixels 06 in a direction parallel to the array substrate, as shown in Fig. 8A to Fig. 8C illustrates where Fig. 8A is a schematic structural representation of a black matrix belonging to a primary spacer in a liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure, Fig. 8B is a schematic structural representation of a black matrix belonging to a primary spacer in another liquid crystal display field according to an embodiment of the disclosure, and Fig. Figure 8C is a schematic structural representation of a black matrix belonging to a primary spacer in another liquid crystal display array according to an embodiment of the disclosure. With regard to certain cross-sectional shapes of the black matrix elements belonging to the secondary spacers in the direction parallel to the array substrate, reference can be made to the shape of the black matrix elements as shown in Figure 8C. Fig. 8A to Fig. 8C is shown, reference is made.

[0040] Optionally, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the sub-pixels further comprise white sub-pixels, and overlapping areas of the black matrix elements at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers and the white sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate are equal to the overlapping areas of the black matrix elements at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers and the white sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate.

[0041] Since the light in the three primary colors, including green, blue, and red, is mixed to create white light, the difference in brightness due to the different areas is easily perceptible to the human eye when there is a difference between the area of a white sub-pixel covered by a black matrix at the corresponding position of a primary spacer and the area of a white sub-pixel covered by a black matrix at the corresponding position of a secondary spacer, because green light will contribute predominantly to the white light, especially if the color of a sub-pixel is white.Accordingly, in the technical solution according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the area of a white sub-pixel that is covered by a black matrix at the corresponding position of a primary spacer can be matched to the area of a white sub-pixel that is covered by a black matrix at the corresponding position of a secondary spacer, thereby addressing the visual brightness difference for the human eye that arises from the different placement of the primary spacer and the secondary spacer.

[0042] Optionally, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, there are no overlapping areas of the primary spacers and the white sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate and no overlapping areas of the secondary spacers and the white sub-pixels in a direction parallel to the array substrate.

[0043] Optionally, in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure, there are no overlapping areas of the black matrix elements at the corresponding positions of the primary spacers and the white sub-pixels in a parallel direction to the array substrate, and no overlapping areas of the black matrix elements at the corresponding positions of the secondary spacers and the white sub-pixels in a parallel direction to the array substrate.

[0044] In particular, the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure further comprises white sub-pixels, whereby with regard to a positional relationship between the spacers and the white sub-pixels, reference can be made to the arrangement of the spacers and the green sub-pixels in the embodiments above, which is why a repeated description of this is omitted here.

[0045] In particular, the array substrate in the liquid crystal display field according to the embodiments of the disclosure comprises a base substrate, thin-film transistors arranged on the base substrate and belonging to the respective pixel electrodes, and an insulating layer covering the thin-film transistors, wherein the pixel electrodes are electrically connected to the corresponding thin-film transistors via through-holes through the insulating layer. As in Fig. Figure 9, which is a schematic structural representation of another liquid crystal display array according to an embodiment of the disclosure in a cross-sectional view, includes, for example, a base substrate 010 and thin-film transistors 011 arranged on the base substrate 010 and associated with the respective pixel electrodes 061, wherein the pixel electrodes 061 are electrically connected to their associated thin-film transistors 011 via through holes.

[0046] In particular, according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the liquid crystal display field further comprises some additional essential film layers forming the liquid crystal display field, whereby reference can be made to the existing liquid crystal display field with regard to the arrangement of these film layers, which is why a repeated description of it is omitted here.

[0047] Based on the same inventive concept, one embodiment of the disclosure further presents a display device as in Fig.Figure 10 is shown as a schematic structural representation of a display device according to one embodiment of the disclosure, wherein the display device comprises the liquid crystal display field according to one of the embodiments above according to the disclosure. The display device can be a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a television, a monitor, a notebook computer, a digital picture frame, a navigation device, and any product or component with a display function. For an implementation of the display device, reference can be made to the embodiments of the aforementioned liquid crystal display field, and therefore a repeated description thereof is omitted here.

[0048] In the liquid crystal display field and the display device described above, the liquid crystal display field comprises the array substrate and the oppositely arranged supersubstrate, the liquid crystal layer and the spacer layer with multiple spacers supporting the liquid crystal layer, wherein the multiple spacers comprise multiple primary spacers and multiple secondary spacers, and a black matrix layer with multiple black matrix elements above the spacer layer, all arranged between the array substrate and the supersubstrate, further comprising a sub-pixel layer with multiple sub-pixels in at least red, green, and blue color variants arranged on the array substrate. If there is a difference between the areas of the sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix elements above the primary spacers and the areas of the sub-pixels,The difference in brightness between the primary spacers and the black matrix elements above the secondary spacers is due to larger placement areas. In such cases, the brightness at the corresponding primary spacer positions may be lower than at the corresponding secondary spacer positions. However, in reality, the human eye is sensitive to green light. Because the brightness difference is rendered in a different color due to the area difference on the sub-pixels, it may not be easily perceptible to the human eye, and only becomes noticeable when the brightness difference is rendered on the green sub-pixels.The visual difference in brightness may be obvious. Accordingly, in the technical solutions according to the embodiments of the disclosure, the overlapping area between one of the several black matrix elements and a green sub-pixel near one of the several primary spacers under said black matrix element constitutes the first overlapping area, wherein the overlapping area between one of the several black matrix elements and a green sub-pixel near one of the several secondary spacers under said black matrix element constitutes the second overlapping area, and the first overlapping area is equal to the second overlapping area, that is, the areas of the green sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix elements above the primary spacers are equal to the areas of the green sub-pixels occupied by the black matrix elements above the secondary spacers. This addresses the visual brightness difference for the human eye resulting from the different placement areas between the primary and secondary spacers, and thus the Mura phenomenon in the existing liquid crystal display field.

[0049] Obviously, experts can make various modifications and alterations to the disclosure without altering the scope of protection afforded by the original disclosure. Accordingly, the disclosure should also encompass these modifications and alterations, provided they remain within the scope of application of the claims appended to the disclosure and their equivalents.
