Description

[0001] The invention relates to a frame device for a vehicle, in particular for a motor vehicle, according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, with at least one such frame device.

[0002] US Patent 6,511,096 B1 discloses a chassis subframe for a vehicle, wherein the chassis subframe is attachable to a body of the vehicle.

[0003] Furthermore, the generic patent JP 2011-240 787 A discloses a frame structure for a vehicle body. Furthermore, DE 102 29 161 A1 discloses a suspension system as known, comprising a steering gear frame and a subframe having a plurality of longitudinal members arranged longitudinally within a vehicle frame.

[0004] The object of the present invention is to create a frame structure and a vehicle such that a particularly high stiffness can be achieved in a weight-saving and cost-effective manner.

[0005] This problem is solved according to the invention by a frame device with the features of claim 1 and by a vehicle with the features of claim 8. Advantageous embodiments with expedient further developments of the invention are specified in the remaining claims.

[0006] A first aspect of the invention relates to a frame assembly for a vehicle, which is preferably designed as a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle can be designed as a car, in particular as a passenger car. The frame assembly comprises at least one subframe that can be attached to a body of the vehicle and is thus designed separately from the body; this subframe is also referred to, for example, as a subframe, axle subframe, or axle carrier. The body is preferably a self-supporting body. The feature that the subframe is designed separately from the body, in particular from the body, is to be understood in particular as meaning that the subframe is not a component of the body or the body.

[0007] The subframe has at least or exactly two longitudinal members spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction of the subframe. In particular, when the subframe or frame assembly is installed, its transverse direction coincides with the transverse direction of the vehicle, with the subframe or frame assembly assuming its installed position when the vehicle is fully assembled. In this fully assembled state, the frame assembly, and thus the subframe, is mounted to the vehicle or body, meaning it is held or fastened in place.

[0008] The subframe also includes at least one crossmember, which extends at least substantially in the transverse direction, i.e., in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The longitudinal members are connected to each other via the crossmember. For this purpose, the crossmember is, for example, attached to the longitudinal members at both ends. In particular, it is conceivable that the subframe has the aforementioned crossmember and at least or exactly one further crossmember, so that the subframe comprises at least or exactly two crossmembers. Longitudinal members are connected to each other via the crossmembers, whereby the several crossmembers can be spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the subframe. In particular, when the frame assembly or the subframe is installed, the longitudinal direction of the subframe coincides with the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. Therefore, when the longitudinal direction is mentioned below, it is to be understood as the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and vice versa.Furthermore, when the transverse direction is mentioned below, this also refers to the transverse direction of the vehicle and vice versa.

[0009] In order to achieve particularly high rigidity, especially of the subframe itself and thus of the body, in a particularly cost-effective and weight-efficient manner, the invention provides that the frame assembly comprises at least one support element, designed separately from the subframe and the body, which has at least one connection element. At least one component of the vehicle, designed separately from the body, the subframe, and the support element, can be attached to or fastened to the support element by means of the connection element. Thus, the support element is a component or assembly carrier to which at least one component, and in particular several components, of the motor vehicle can be attached or fastened.

[0010] Furthermore, the frame assembly includes a steering gear for steering the vehicle, designed separately from the body, the subframe, the support element, and the component. This steering gear is provided in addition to the body, the subframe, the support element, and the component. In the fully assembled state of the vehicle, a steering handle located or arrangable within the vehicle's interior is coupled or can be coupled to the vehicle's wheels via the steering gear. This allows the vehicle's wheels to be steered or steered via the steering gear and thus pivoted relative to the body. The steering handle is, for example, a steering wheel that can be rotated around a steering wheel axis relative to the body to steer the vehicle's wheels via the steering gear. The vehicle wheels are ground contact elements that allow the vehicle to be supported downwards against the ground. When the vehicle is driven along the ground while supported by its wheels, the wheels roll along the ground.

[0011] Furthermore, according to the invention, both the steering gear and the support element are attached to the subframe by means of one and the same fastening element. The fastening element is thus assigned to both the steering gear and the support element and is used to attach both the steering gear and the support element to the subframe, in particular simultaneously. This allows the number of parts, and therefore the weight, costs, and installation space requirements, to be kept particularly low. In addition, this allows the subframe to be effectively stiffened by means of the support element, so that a particularly high stiffness of the subframe and thus of the structure can be achieved.

[0012] The frame assembly includes the component provided in addition to the steering gear, which is therefore an integral part of the frame assembly. This component is attached to the support element by means of the connecting element, in particular in a reversibly detachable manner, and is thus held in place on the support element.

[0013] The component is designed as a building element of an air conditioning system for the vehicle. For example, the building element is an air conditioning compressor, which compresses the refrigerant of the air conditioning system. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the component is designed as an energy storage device for storing electrical energy, which could be, for example, a battery, particularly a high-voltage battery (HV battery). The vehicle is, for example, a motor vehicle that can be driven by a drive motor. The drive motor can be an internal combustion engine. It is also conceivable that the drive motor is an electric machine that can be operated in motor mode and thus as an electric motor. Using the electric motor, the vehicle can, for example, be driven purely electrically. Thus, the vehicle can be designed as an electric vehicle, in particular as a battery-electric vehicle.

[0014] It has proven particularly advantageous if both the steering gear and the support element are attached to the subframe at a first mounting point or in a first mounting area using one and the same fastening element, i.e., the aforementioned fastening element. Furthermore, both the steering gear and the support element are attached to the subframe at a second mounting point or in a second mounting area spaced apart from the first mounting point, using one and the same fastening element. This means that at least one second fastening element is provided, which is also assigned to and used for both the support element and the steering gear, particularly simultaneously, to attach both the steering gear and the support element to the subframe, particularly simultaneously. In other words, at least two mounting points are provided at which the steering gear and the support element are attached to the subframe, with at least or exactly one fastening element provided at each mounting point by means of which both the steering gear and the support element are attached to the subframe at the respective mounting point, in particular simultaneously. This allows the number of parts, weight, and costs to be kept particularly low, while at the same time achieving particularly high rigidity.

[0015] Since the mounting points are spaced apart, it is preferably provided that an air gap or air space is arranged between them, so that the mounting points are spaced apart by this air space. The support element, which may be designed or functioning as a bridge, extends continuously from one mounting point to the other, thus bridging the gap between the mounting points. This allows the auxiliary frame to be stiffened or reinforced particularly effectively.

[0016] Another embodiment is characterized by the fact that the mounting points are spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction of the subframe. Thus, for example, the support element extends continuously in the transverse direction of the subframe from one mounting point to the other, so that the support element is designed, for example, as a transverse bridge. This ensures particularly high rigidity.

[0017] Preferably, the fastening points are arranged at the same height in the longitudinal direction of the subframe, so that particularly high rigidity can be ensured.

[0018] Another embodiment is characterized in that the fastening element comprises at least or exactly one screw element, which is partially arranged or received in a first opening of the steering gear and partially in a second opening of the support element. This allows both the steering gear and the support element to be attached to the subframe in a lightweight, cost-effective, and rigid manner.

[0019] It has proven particularly advantageous if the openings are designed as through-holes, each completely penetrated by the screw element. This allows the steering gear and the support element to be connected to the subframe with exceptional rigidity and strength.

[0020] The screw element is preferably a screw having a first thread. The first thread is preferably designed as an external thread.

[0021] It has proven particularly advantageous if the auxiliary frame has a third opening in which the screw element is received. Preferably, the first and second openings are unthreaded, especially without internal threads, so that the screw element can be easily and therefore quickly and cost-effectively inserted through the first and second openings.

[0022] The third opening can be designed as a threaded opening and therefore have a second thread corresponding to the first, which, for example, is an internal thread. It is conceivable that the screw element is screwed into or bolted to the second thread. This allows the support element and the steering gear to be attached to the subframe in a simple, time-saving, and cost-effective manner, while also being particularly lightweight and rigid.

[0023] Furthermore, it is conceivable that the third opening is designed as a third through-hole, which is completely penetrated by the screw element. It is preferably provided that the third opening is unthreaded, in particular without internal threads, so that the screw element can be inserted into or through the third opening particularly easily.

[0024] To achieve particularly high rigidity, a further embodiment of the invention provides that the fastening element has a second screw element to which the first screw element is screwed. The second screw element is, for example, a nut which has a second thread that corresponds, in particular, to the first thread. The second thread is, for example, an internal thread.

[0025] The invention is based in particular on the following findings: In vehicles such as electric vehicles, due to space constraints and the arrangement of fastening elements in an available installation space, particularly in the area of a front axle, it often results that a steering connection and a structure for a motor mounting, i.e., for holding a drive motor and / or components different from a drive motor, such as air conditioning systems, components, batteries, etc., are located in the same installation space, especially when the drive motor and / or components located above the drive motor are mounted on the subframe, designed, for example, as an axle carrier, in particular as a front axle carrier, for reasons of advantageous assembly.

[0026] According to the invention, the support element is provided as a structure supporting at least the aforementioned component, which can be arranged, for example, on or at an axle, particularly on or at a front axle, or in the region of an axle, particularly in the region of a front axle. For example, the support structure is arranged at the front or in a front region of the vehicle above the drive motor. Furthermore, it is conceivable that the support structure is arranged vertically below the drive motor and / or longitudinally behind the drive motor. The support structure is attached to the subframe together with the steering system or the steering gear, for example by bolting it to the subframe. This creates, for example, a bolted assembly that includes the steering gear, the subframe, and the support element, which may be designed or functioning as a crossmember. This bolted assembly can be a module that is particularly easy to handle and assemble. The support element, the subframe, and the steering system or steering gear are separate components of the steering assembly that are connected to each other. Depending on the design, the components can be configured to support each other. For example, a particularly advantageous design of the steering gear, especially its steering housing, can be demonstrated because, for instance, the upper mounting studs do not need to be angled. The steering gear is attached to the subframe via the aforementioned steering housing using the same fastening element.

[0027] The aforementioned mounting points each have a support or contact surface against which the steering gear, in particular the steering housing, or preferably the support element, is supported and thus rests. If the respective mounting element is designed, for example, as a screw element, so that the steering gear and the support element are screwed to or bolted to the subframe, then the respective support surface is a screw-on surface. Since the mounting points are spaced apart from one another, the support surfaces are also spaced apart from one another, so that a gap exists between the support surfaces, particularly in the transverse direction of the subframe. This gap is also referred to as the distance, which is bridged by the support element, which, for example, functions as a transverse structure. For example, a particularly advantageous design of the support element can be achieved, since a quasi-double-shear connection can be realized by using the steering gear.

[0028] Compared to conventional solutions, weight and cost savings can be achieved because the number of connecting elements for attaching the steering gear and the support element to the subframe can be kept to a minimum. Furthermore, a particularly simple and rigid subframe design can be implemented. Advantageously, the individual components can support each other in such a way that weight is saved and rigidity is increased compared to conventional solutions.

[0029] A second aspect of the invention relates to a vehicle, preferably designed as a motor vehicle, in particular as a motor car, and most especially as a passenger car, which comprises a body, for example designed as a self-supporting body, and at least or exactly one frame assembly according to the first aspect of the invention. The frame assembly comprises at least one subframe, designed separately from and attached to the body, which has two longitudinal members spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction of the vehicle. Furthermore, the subframe has at least one cross member by which the longitudinal members are connected to each other.

[0030] To achieve particularly high rigidity in a way that is especially weight- and cost-effective, the second aspect of the invention provides that the vehicle, in particular the frame assembly, comprises at least one support element that is designed separately from the subframe and separately from the body, and which has at least one connecting element. At least one component of the vehicle, designed separately from the body, separately from the subframe, and separately from the support element, is attached to and thus held on the support element by means of the connecting element.

[0031] Furthermore, the vehicle, in particular the frame assembly, comprises a steering gear for the vehicle's steering system, which is designed separately from the subframe, the support element, the body, and the component, and is additionally provided for this purpose, wherein both the steering gear and the support element are attached to the subframe by means of one and the same fastening element. Advantages and advantageous embodiments of the first aspect of the invention are to be regarded as advantages and advantageous embodiments of the second aspect of the invention, and vice versa.

[0032] The frame assembly includes the component provided in addition to the steering gear, which is attached to the support element by means of the connecting element. This component is designed either as a component of an air conditioning system for the vehicle or as an energy storage device for storing electrical energy.

[0033] The vehicle according to the invention is preferably designed as a motor vehicle, and more preferably as a motor car, in particular as a passenger car or truck, or as a passenger bus or motorcycle. The invention also includes combinations of the features of the described embodiments.

[0034] An embodiment of the invention is described below. The following is shown: Fig. 1 a schematic perspective view of a frame device according to the invention; Fig. 2. A schematic perspective view of the frame assembly (in part); and Fig. 3. A schematic sectional view of the frame assembly.

[0035] The embodiment described below is a preferred embodiment of the invention. In this embodiment, the described components each represent individual features of the invention, which can be considered independently of one another and each further develops the invention independently. Therefore, the disclosure is intended to include combinations of features of the embodiment other than those shown. Furthermore, the described embodiment can also be supplemented by further features of the invention already described.

[0036] In the figures, identical reference symbols denote functionally equivalent elements.

[0037] Fig. Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a frame assembly 10 for a vehicle, which is preferably a motor vehicle, for example a passenger car. This means that the vehicle, in its fully manufactured state, has the frame assembly 10. Furthermore, the vehicle, in its fully manufactured state, comprises a body, preferably designed as a self-supporting structure. The frame assembly 10 is separate from the body and, in the fully manufactured state of the vehicle, is mounted to and thus held against the body.

[0038] The frame assembly 10 comprises a subframe 12, which is separate from the body and can be attached to or is attached to the body. The subframe 12 has at least or exactly two longitudinal members 14, which are spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction of the subframe 12. The transverse direction of the subframe 12 is Fig. 1 is illustrated by a double arrow 16 and coincides with the vehicle's transverse direction in the fully assembled state of the motor vehicle. In this fully assembled state, the frame assembly 10 assumes its installation position in which the transverse direction of the subframe 12 coincides with the vehicle's transverse direction. Furthermore, in this fully assembled state, the subframe 12 assumes its installation position in which the transverse direction of the subframe 12 coincides with the vehicle's transverse direction.

[0039] The auxiliary frame 12 further comprises at least or exactly two crossbeams 18, which are spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the auxiliary frame 12. The longitudinal direction of the auxiliary frame 12 is in Fig. 1 is illustrated by a double arrow 20 and coincides with the longitudinal direction of the vehicle in the installed position and thus in the fully manufactured state of the vehicle. The longitudinal beams 14 are connected to each other via the crossbeams 18.

[0040] For example, the auxiliary frame 12 has coupling elements, of which in Fig. 1. A coupling element designated 22 is recognizable. By means of the respective coupling element, at least or exactly one wheel guide is pivotally held or held on the subframe 12 for guiding a respective vehicle wheel, such that the respective vehicle wheel is pivotally held on the subframe 12 via the respective wheel guide. By means of the respective wheel guide, the respective vehicle wheel is guided relative to the subframe 12 and relative to the body. The respective vehicle wheel is also simply referred to as a wheel and is a ground contact element by means of which the vehicle can be supported or is supported downwards on a ground in the vehicle's upward direction.

[0041] In order to achieve particularly high rigidity of the frame assembly 10 and the body in a particularly weight- and cost-effective manner, the frame assembly 10, and thus the vehicle, comprises at least one support element 24 designed separately from the subframe 12 and separately from the body, which, in the embodiment shown in the figures, is designed or functions as a transverse structure or crossbeam. The body is in Fig. 1 is shown particularly schematically and is designated by 26. The support element 24 has connection elements 28 by means of which at least one additional element, designed separately from the body 26, separately from the subframe 12 and separately from the support element 24, is provided and is in Fig. 1. Component 30 of the vehicle, shown in a particularly schematic way, can be attached to or is attached to the support element 24 and thus to the frame assembly 10. Component 30 is, for example, an energy storage device designed to store electrical energy, which can be a battery, in particular a high-voltage battery. Furthermore, component 30 can be a component of the vehicle's air conditioning system, for example, a refrigerant compressor. It is also conceivable that component 30 is an electric machine by means of which the aforementioned vehicle wheels, and thus the vehicle itself, can be electrically driven. Therefore, the support element 24 is, for example, an engine mount or engine bearing on which the electric machine 30 is held or mounted.

[0042] The frame assembly 10, and thus the vehicle, also includes a steering gear 32, which is designed separately from the body 26, the subframe 12, component 30, and the support element 24, and is additionally provided for steering the vehicle. By means of the steering system, the aforementioned vehicle wheels can, for example, be steered and thus pivoted about a respective steering axis relative to the body 26, in order to effect, for example, lane changes and cornering of the vehicle.

[0043] In its fully assembled state, the vehicle has a steering handle located inside, which can be moved relative to the body 26, for example, by the driver. The steering handle is, for example, a steering wheel that can be rotated about a steering wheel axis relative to the body 26. The steering handle is coupled to the vehicle wheels via the steering gear 32, so that the vehicle wheels can be steered via the steering gear 32 and thus via the steering handle. For this purpose, the steering handle is moved, for example, by the driver relative to the body 26, in particular rotated about the steering wheel axis. The steering gear 32 has a housing 34, which is also referred to as the steering housing or steering box.For example, the steering gear 32 is designed as a hydraulic, electric, electromechanical or electrohydraulic steering gear, so that, for example, the steering gear 32 can assist the driver electrically, hydraulically, electrohydraulically or electromechanically when steering the vehicle.

[0044] Furthermore, it is planned that – as seen in conjunction with Fig. 2 and Fig. As can be seen in Figure 3, both the steering gear 32 and the support element 24 are attached to the subframe 12 by means of one and the same fastening element 36 or 38. Both the steering gear 32 and the support element 24 are attached to the subframe 12 at a first fastening point S1 by means of one and the same fastening element 36. Furthermore, both the steering gear 32 and the support element 24 are attached to the subframe 12 at a second fastening point S2, which is spaced laterally from the first fastening point S1, by means of one and the same fastening element 38. The fastening points S1 and S2 are spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction of the subframe 12 such that an air gap, i.e., an air-filled space, is arranged between the fastening points S1 and S2 in the transverse direction of the subframe 12.Thus, the mounting points S1 and S2 are spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction by this gap, so that a distance, also referred to as a gap, exists between the mounting points S1 and S2 along the transverse direction. The support element 24, for example, which may be a single piece or a multi-piece, extends continuously in the transverse direction of the vehicle from the mounting point S1 to the mounting point S2 or vice versa, thereby bridging the aforementioned distance with the support element 24.

[0045] The auxiliary frame 12, for example, has two columns 40 spaced apart from each other in the transverse direction, which extend upwards from the longitudinal beams in the vertical direction of the auxiliary frame 12. The vertical direction is defined as follows: Fig. Figure 1 is illustrated by a double arrow 42, where the vertical direction in the installed position coincides with the vehicle's vertical direction. The mounting points S1 and S2 are formed by the columns 40. Thus, the steering gear 32 and the support element 24 are connected to the columns 40 by means of one and the same mounting elements 36 and 38 and are therefore attached to the subframe 12, thereby effectively stiffening the subframe 12.

[0046] How particularly good looks Fig. 2 and Fig. As can be seen in Figure 3, the respective fastening element 36 or 38 comprises a screw element in the form of a screw 44, which has a first thread in the form of an external thread 46. The external thread 46 is formed on a screw shank 48 of the screw 44, wherein the screw shank 48, also referred to simply as the shaft, is connected to a screw head 50 of the screw 44. In particular, the screw head 50, also referred to simply as the head, can be formed integrally with the screw shank 48. The screw 44 is supported along its longitudinal direction via the screw head 50, in particular directly, on the housing 34 and thus on the steering gear 32, wherein the longitudinal direction of the screw 44 coincides with the longitudinal direction of the subframe 12.In the longitudinal direction of the screw 44, the housing 34 is arranged between the support element 24 and the screw head 50, such that the screw head 50 is supported on the support element 24 in the longitudinal direction of the screw 44 by means of the housing 34. Furthermore, in the longitudinal direction of the screw 44, the support element 24 is arranged between the housing 34 and the respective column 40 or the auxiliary frame 12, such that in the longitudinal direction of the screw 44, the housing 34 is supported on the column 40 or the auxiliary frame 12 by means of the support element 24. Here, for example, the support element 24 is supported along the longitudinal direction of the screw 44, in particular directly, on the column 40, and in particular on a support surface 51 of the column 40 or the auxiliary frame 12.Thus, for example, the support element 24 lies directly against the support surface 51 along the longitudinal direction of the screw 44.

[0047] Furthermore, it is from Fig.It is evident that the housing 34 has a first opening 52 in the form of a first through-opening, the support element 24 has a second opening 54 in the form of a second through-opening, and the column 40 or the auxiliary frame 12 has a third opening 56 in the form of a third through-opening. The openings 52, 54, and 56 are unthreaded, so that the screw 44 can be inserted particularly easily through the through-openings along its longitudinal direction, especially until the screw head 50 comes into contact with the housing 34 along the longitudinal direction of the screw 44. In this case, the screw head 50 rests against the housing 34 along the longitudinal direction of the screw 44, in particular directly. The through-openings are each completely penetrated by the screw 44, in particular by the screw shank 48, such that the screw shank 48 protrudes from the opening 56 on a side 58 of the column 40 facing away from the support element 24 and the housing 34 in the longitudinal direction of the screw 44. In particular, the external thread 46 protrudes from the opening 56 on side 58.

[0048] The respective fastening element 36 or 38 comprises a second screw element, in this case in the form of a nut 60, which has a second thread in the form of an internal thread 62 corresponding to the external thread 46. The external thread 46 is screwed into the internal thread 62, so that the screw 44 is screwed to the nut 60. The nut 60 is supported along the longitudinal direction of the screw 44 on a second support surface 64 of the column 40 or the subframe 12, in particular directly, so that, for example, the nut 60 rests directly against the support surface 64. While the support surface 64 is located on side 58, the support surface 51 is located on a second side 66 of the column 40 or the subframe 12 facing away from the support surface 64 in the longitudinal direction of the screw 44. The side 66 of the nut 60 faces away from the longitudinal direction of the screw 44.Overall, it is evident that the housing 34, and thus the steering gear 32 and the support element 24, are clamped against the subframe 12 by means of the fastening element 36 or 38, and in this case by means of the screw 44 and the nut 60, and are thereby attached to the subframe 12, in a reversibly detachable manner. For this purpose, the external thread 46 and the internal thread 62 are screwed together.

[0049] Overall, it is evident that the support element 24 is a structure supporting component 30, which, together with the steering system, is bolted to the subframe 12. This creates a bolted assembly that includes the support element 24, designed as a cross member, the steering system or steering gear 32, and the subframe 12. Since the support element 24 and the steering gear 32 are attached to the subframe 12 by bolts, the respective support surface 51 and 64, respectively, is also referred to as a bolting surface. The respective bolting surface extends, for example, in a plane defined by the vehicle's transverse and vertical directions.By connecting the steering gear 32 and the support element 24 to the subframe 12 in this way, the number of fasteners and attachment points can be kept to a minimum, thus minimizing costs and weight. Furthermore, the subframe 12, and in particular the support element 24 and the steering gear 32, can be advantageously designed to achieve high rigidity and low weight.
