Description

BACKGROUND Technical area

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a musical instrument and a keyboard musical instrument to which a music stand can be attached. Description of the related technique

[0002] A music stand, for example, is positioned further back than the keyboard on a keyboard instrument. A musician performs a piece of music while simultaneously looking at a score placed on the music stand.

[0003] Recently, electronic scores have become increasingly common, replacing paper scores. The electronic score is stored on an electronic device such as a tablet. A performer gives a musical presentation while simultaneously viewing the electronic score and various performance information displayed on the screen of an electronic device placed on a music stand. Furthermore, an application is installed on the electronic device, allowing the performer to adjust various settings related to the electronic instrument. The performer can make these adjustments by operating the electronic device on the music stand.

[0004] On page 4 of the “INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF DIGITAL PIANO P-125 P-121”, which was published by Yamaha Corporation in January 2019, a music stand to be attached to an electronic keyboard musical instrument is shown as an accessory.

[0005] DE 102 01 305 A1 describes a musical instrument and in particular a built-in music stand which is built into a musical instrument for holding notes in front of a player, as well as a musical instrument which is equipped with the music stand.

[0006] JP 2001 337 669 A describes a music stand structure that is able to easily adjust the angle of a music stand of a keyboard instrument in a variety of steps.

[0007] JP 2000 163 046 A describes a music stand for a piano and in particular a music stand in which a torii attached to a music stand main body is locked in a locking groove of a main support beam, such as is provided in a grand piano. SUMMARY

[0008] A music stand is originally designed to hold a paper score. However, when an electronic device, such as a tablet, displays an electronic score, a more practical design is essential for a performer.

[0009] One purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a musical instrument and a keyboard musical instrument which have a structure suitable for use with an electronic terminal.

[0010] The present invention is defined by the attached claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION(1) Design of the musical instrument

[0012] A musical instrument according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is described in detail below with reference to the drawings. Fig. Figure 1 is a perspective view of an electronic keyboard musical instrument 1, which is the musical instrument according to the embodiment. Fig. Figure 2 is a top view of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. Fig. Figure 3 is a side view of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. In each of the diagrams, the front, back, top and bottom of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1 are each marked by reference symbols F, B, U and D.

[0013] As in Fig. 1 and Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1 has a housing 10. The housing 10 has a left and a right side panel 10S and a top panel 10U. A keyboard 11 is arranged in a front section of the housing 10. A panel 12 is located further back than the keyboard 11. The panel 12 functions as a display 12A, which shows information, and as a control unit 12B, which receives an operating command. As shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. In the present embodiment, as shown in Figure 2, the panel 12 extends in a left-and-right direction along the entire electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. The display 12A and the control unit 12B are arranged in a part of the panel 12 or in the entire panel 12.

[0014] A tone color setting, a music performance style, etc., is displayed on display 12A. Controls for making a tone color setting, a music performance style setting, a volume setting, a tempo setting, etc., are located in control unit 12B. A mechanical control knob, a rotary knob, and a touch-sensitive control are included in control unit 12B.

[0015] A music stand 2 is attached to the upper plate 10U of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. In the present embodiment, the music stand 2 is positioned further back than the panel 12 so that it is adjacent to the panel 12. A tablet 5 is placed on the music stand 2. A music performance utility program (hereinafter referred to as the utility) is installed on the tablet 5. By running the utility, the tablet 5 can display various music performance utility information on a touchscreen display of the tablet 5, in addition to an electronic score.

[0016] Furthermore, by running the utility program, the Tablet 5 can display a user interface for various settings of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 on its touchscreen. The Tablet 5 can communicate with the controller of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 via wired communication such as USB (Universal Serial Bus) or wireless communication such as BLUETOOTH (registered trademark) or a wireless LAN (Local Area Network). A player can make various settings related to the electronic keyboard instrument 1 by performing an input operation on the user interface displayed on the Tablet 5's touchscreen.

[0017] As in Fig. Figure 3 shows the music stand 2 being attached to extend backward and obliquely upward from a position further back than the sheet 12. In the present embodiment, the angle of inclination of the music stand 2 is essentially 45 degrees with respect to the upper plate 10U of the housing 10. Since the housing 10 is normally provided on a horizontal plane, such as a piano stand or a lectern, the upper plate 10U is essentially parallel to the horizontal plane. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the angle of inclination of the music stand 2 is essentially 45 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. That is to say, the angle of inclination of a score-providing surface 20 of the music stand 2 is essentially 45 degrees with respect to the upper plate 10U and the horizontal plane.

[0018] Furthermore, as in Fig. Figure 3 shows that the tilt angle of panel 12 is essentially 45 degrees with respect to the upper plate 10U of the housing 10. Therefore, the score-providing surface 20 of the music stand 2 is arranged to be essentially parallel to a surface of panel 12. As described above, panel 12 functions as the display 12A, which shows information, and as the control unit 12B, which receives an operating command. Since the player can view the information displayed on the display 12A and the touchscreen of the tablet 5 placed on the music stand 2 at a similar tilt angle, the visibility of the information is good. Furthermore, since the control unit 12B and the touchscreen of the tablet 5 are arranged at a similar tilt angle, the usability is good.

[0019] As in Fig. Figure 3 shows a support rod 25 provided at the rear of the music stand 2. The support rod 25 extends from the rear of the music stand 2 backward and diagonally downward and is supported on the upper plate 10U. The music stand 2 is reinforced against pressure in a front-and-back and an up-and-down direction by the support rod 25. When operating the tablet 5 placed on the music stand 2, the player must apply force to the music stand 2 in the front-and-back and up-and-down directions. Because the music stand 2 is reinforced by the support rod 25, it does not wobble or bend, even when the player operates the tablet 5, and its operability is good.

[0020] In the present embodiment, the music stand 2 is reinforced by providing the support rod 25 on the rear surface of the music stand 2. Furthermore, the music stand 2 can be reinforced, for example, by providing a rib on the rear surface of the music stand 2. (2) Design of the attachment section

[0021] Fig. Figure 4 is a top view of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1, with the music stand 2 detached. As shown in the diagram, a mounting section 13 and a guide 14 are provided in the upper plate 10U of the housing 10. The mounting section 13 has a groove that extends in the upper surface of the upper plate 10U in the left and right directions. The lower end of the music stand 2 is attached to the mounting section 13. The guide 14 has a groove that extends in the upper surface of the upper plate 10U substantially parallel to the mounting section 13 and in the left and right directions. The support rod 25 of the music stand 2 is mounted in the guide 14.

[0022] In Fig. Position 4 designates AP as the position of the rear end of the keyboard 11 in the front-and-back direction of the electronic keyboard instrument 1. Position BP designates the position of the rear end of the electronic keyboard instrument 1 in the front-and-back direction of the electronic keyboard instrument 1. Position MP designates the intermediate position between position AP and position BP in the front-and-back direction of the electronic keyboard instrument 1.In this way, in the electronic keyboard instrument 1 of the present embodiment, the mounting section 13 is arranged at a position further forward than position MP, which is the intermediate position between position AP (the position of the rear end of the keyboard 11) and position BP (the position of the rear end of the electronic keyboard instrument 1) in the front-to-back direction of the electronic keyboard instrument 1. Thus, the music stand 2 is arranged in a position close to the keyboard 11. When the tablet 5 is placed on the music stand 2, it is positioned relatively close to the player. Therefore, the player can easily operate the tablet 5.

[0023] In the present embodiment, the mounting section 13 is arranged to be adjacent to the rear end of the tablet 12. The mounting section 13 is located in the area further back than the tablet 12, at the position closest to the keyboard 11. This allows the player to easily operate the tablet 5. (3) Design of the music stand

[0024] Fig. Figure 5 is a top view of music stand 2. Fig. Figure 6 is a rear view of the music stand 2. The music stand 2 has a main body 21 and a connecting section 22. The front of the main body 21 is the score support surface 20. The connecting section 22 is connected to a lower section of the main body 21. In the present embodiment, the main body 21 and the connecting section 22 are formed in one piece. Although the music stand 2 is formed from resin in the present embodiment, it can equally be formed from wood, metal, etc.

[0025] In the present embodiment, an embossing process is carried out on the score display surface 20 of the music stand 2. The embossing process can be carried out on the entire score display surface 20 or on a portion of it. Since the embossing process is carried out on the score display surface 20, it provides an anti-slip effect. Thus, even when the tablet 5 is placed on the music stand 2 and an operation is performed on the tablet 5, the position of the tablet 5 is prevented from shifting, and usability is improved.

[0026] Fig. Figure 7 is a diagram illustrating an example of the score preparation area 20, on which the embossing process takes place. In the example from Fig. 7 lines are provided on score preparation area 20. Fig. Figure 8 is a diagram illustrating another example of a score preparation area 20 on which embossing processing takes place. In the example from Fig. 8 A large number of cavities are provided on the score preparation area 20.

[0027] As in the Fig. 5 and Fig. Figure 6 shows a left and a right projection 23, 23 formed in the connecting section 22. Engagement grooves 24, 24 are formed in the projections 23, 23. The projections 23, 23 and the engagement grooves 24, 24 are used when the music stand 2 is attached to the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1.

[0028] As in Fig. Figure 6 shows the support rod 25 attached to the rear surface of the main body 21. The support rod 25 is attached to a mounting element 26, which extends in the left and right directions on the rear surface of the main body 21. The support rod 25 is attached to be rotatable with respect to the mounting element 26, with the mounting element 26 serving as the axis of rotation (the axis extending in the left and right directions).

[0029] Fig. Figure 9 is a side view of the music stand 2, which is attached to the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. As shown in Fig. Figure 9 shows the main body 21 of the music stand 2 arranged to have an inclination angle of essentially 45 degrees with respect to the upper plate 10U of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. Furthermore, the main body 21 and the connecting section 22 of the music stand 2 are connected to each other to have an inclination angle of essentially 135 degrees in a side view. Therefore, the connecting section 22 is positioned to be perpendicular to the upper plate 10U, thus arranging the main body 21 to have an inclination angle of essentially 45 degrees with respect to the upper plate 10U.

[0030] As in Fig. Figure 9 shows the connecting section 22 of the music stand 2 adapted to the groove formed in the mounting section 13. Furthermore, the support rod 25 is adapted to the guide 14. The guide 14 is a shallow groove and can restrict movement of the support rod 25 in the forward and backward directions.

[0031] In the present embodiment, the score display surface 20 of the music stand 2 is arranged to have an angle of inclination of substantially 45 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. Because the score display surface 20 is arranged to have a relatively small angle of inclination, the player can easily operate the tablet 5 when it is placed on the music stand 2. In a conventional piano, an electronic piano, and the like, a music stand has a relatively large angle of inclination, such as 75 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. Although there is no problem viewing a paper score with such a music stand, it is not suitable for operating a tablet. In the present embodiment, the angle of inclination of the score display surface 20 of the music stand 2 is set at an angle suitable for operating the tablet 5.

[0032] Although the inclination angle of the score display surface 20 of the music stand 2 in the present embodiment is essentially 45 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane, this is merely an example. The inclination angle can be designed within a range suitable for operating the tablet 5. Regarding the angle range suitable for operating the tablet 5, the inclination angle of the score display surface 20 of the music stand 2 is desirable to be in a range of 35 degrees to 55 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. That is, the inclination angle between the main body 21 and the connecting section 22 is desirable to be in a range of 125 degrees to 145 degrees. If the angle of inclination of the score support surface 20 with respect to the horizontal plane exceeds 55 degrees, the angle of a hand operating the touchscreen display of the tablet 5 becomes uncomfortable, and usability is impaired. Furthermore, if the angle of inclination of the score support surface 20 with respect to the horizontal plane is less than 35 degrees, the visibility of the information displayed on the touchscreen display of the tablet 5 is impaired. The angle of inclination of the score support surface 20 of the music stand 2 with respect to the horizontal plane is ideally in the range of 40 to 50 degrees. That is, the angle of inclination between the main body 21 and the connecting section 22 is ideally set in the range of 130 to 140 degrees.

[0033] In the present embodiment, the score-providing surface 20 of the music stand 2 is arranged to have an angle of inclination of essentially 45 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. Furthermore, the table 12 is arranged to have an angle of inclination of essentially 45 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. Therefore, as in Fig. Figure 3 shows that panel 12 and the score display area 20 are arranged essentially parallel to each other. This allows the player to view the display 12A located on panel 12 and the touchscreen display of tablet 5, which is placed on music stand 2, at a similar angle of inclination. This makes it easy for the player to view the information displayed by panel 12 and tablet 5. Furthermore, the player can operate the control unit 12B located on panel 12 and the touchscreen display of tablet 5, which is placed on music stand 2, at a similar angle of inclination. This makes it easy for the player to perform adjustments to panel 12 and tablet 5. (4) Mounting structure

[0034] Fig. Figure 10 is an enlarged view of the mounting section 13 provided in the upper plate 10U. The mounting section 13 has an insertion groove 131 which extends in the left and right directions of the upper plate 10U. The connecting section 22 of the music stand 2 is inserted into the insertion groove 131. Furthermore, the mounting section 13 has an engagement claw 132 in the insertion groove 131. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 11, the connecting section 22 of the music stand 2 is inserted into the insertion groove 131, and then the music stand 2 is moved in the direction of the Fig. The arrow shown in Figure 11 moves. This brings the engagement claw 132 into engagement with the engagement groove 24. Thus, the music stand 2 is attached to the mounting section 13 of the upper plate 10U. (5) Effects of the embodiment

[0035] As described above, in the electronic keyboard instrument 1 according to the present embodiment, the mounting section 13 for attaching the music stand 2 is arranged in a position that is further back in the front-to-back direction than the rear end position AP of the keyboard 11 and further forward in the front-to-back direction than the intermediate position MP between the rear end position AP of the keyboard 11 and the rear end position BP of the electronic keyboard instrument 1. Furthermore, the score display surface 20 of the music stand 2 is fixed in the mounting section 13 to be inclined with respect to the horizontal plane in the range of 35 degrees to 55 degrees. Thus, the player can easily operate an electronic device placed on the music stand 2.

[0036] Furthermore, if the connecting section 22 provided at the lower end of the music stand 2 is attached to the mounting section 13, the main body 21 with the score display area 20 can be connected to an upper section of the connecting section 22 to create an angle of inclination such that the angle of inclination of the score display area 20 with respect to the horizontal plane is between 35 and 55 degrees. It is possible to adjust the angle of inclination of the score display area 20 to an angle suitable for operating an electronic device by attaching the connecting section 22 to the mounting section 13.

[0037] Furthermore, the angle of inclination of the score display surface 20 with respect to the horizontal plane can be in the range of 40 degrees to 50 degrees. Furthermore, the player can easily operate the electronic device placed on the music stand 2.

[0038] Furthermore, the display 12A, which shows information, and / or the control unit 12B, which receives an operating command, can be arranged in the front and back direction between the keyboard 11 and the mounting section 13. The visibility of the display 12A and / or the operability with respect to the control unit 12B can be ensured.

[0039] The mounting section 13 can be positioned adjacent to the rear end of the display 12A and / or the control unit 12B in the front and back directions. Since the mounting section 13 is located near the keyboard 11, the player can easily operate the electronic device placed on the music stand 2.

[0040] The score display area 20 can be arranged to be substantially parallel to the display 12A and / or the control unit 12B.

[0041] Since the display 12A and / or the control unit 12B and the screen of the electronic terminal placed on the music stand 2 are arranged to have an analogous tilt angle, the visibility of information and / or the operability of an adjustment process, etc., is improved.

[0042] Anti-shift processing can be implemented on the score display area 20. This prevents the electronic device placed on the music stand 2 from shifting and improves its usability.

[0043] An amplification device can be provided on the rear surface of the main body 21 with the score display area 20. Even when the electronic device placed on the music stand 2 is being operated, wobbling or bending of the music stand 2 is prevented and the usability of the electronic device is improved. (6) Modified example

[0044] Next, an electronic keyboard musical instrument 1A is described according to a modified example of the present disclosure with reference to the Fig. 12 and Fig. 13 described. Fig. Figure 12 is a side view of a music stand 3, which is to be attached to the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1A according to the modified example. Fig. Figure 13 is a side view of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1A, to which the music stand 3 is attached.

[0045] As in Fig. Figure 12 shows that the music stand 3 has a connecting section 32 in a lower section of a main body 31 and a connecting section 33 in an upper section of the main body 31. In the present embodiment, the connecting section 32 is connected to the main body 31 to provide an angle of inclination of 135 degrees (90 degrees + 45 degrees). Furthermore, in the present embodiment, the connecting section 33 is connected to the main body 31 to provide an angle of inclination of 165 degrees (90 degrees + 75 degrees).

[0046] Fig. Figure 13(A) is a side view of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1A, in which the connecting section 32 is attached to a mounting section 13. Since the connecting section 32 is connected to the main body 31 to have an angle of inclination of 135 degrees (90 degrees + 45 degrees), in a case where the connecting section 32 is attached to be perpendicular to the upper plate 10U, a score-providing surface 30 of the music stand 3 has an angle of inclination of substantially 45 degrees with respect to a horizontal plane. That is, the angle of inclination of the score-providing surface 30 is analogous to that of the one in Figure 13(A). Fig. 3 depicted electronic keyboard musical instrument 1. Therefore, the state is from Fig. 13(A) is suitable for a musical performance style in which the tablet 5 is placed on the music stand 3.

[0047] Fig. Figure 13(B) is a side view of the electronic keyboard musical instrument 1A in which the music stand 3 is placed upside down and the connecting section 33 is attached to the mounting section 13. Since the connecting section 33 is connected to the main body 31 to have an angle of inclination of 165 degrees (90 degrees + 75 degrees), in a case where the connecting section 33 is attached to be perpendicular to the upper plate 10U, the score-providing surface 30 of the music stand 3 has an angle of inclination of substantially 75 degrees with respect to the horizontal plane. In this way, in the state shown Fig. 13(B) the score support surface 30 the angle of inclination analogous to that of a music stand of a conventional keyboard musical instrument. Therefore, the state from Fig. 13(B) is suitable for a conventional musical performance style in which a paper score is viewed.

[0048] Although the angle of inclination of the score preparation area is 30° in the Fig. 12 and Fig. The fact that the angle of inclination between the connecting section 32 and the main body 31 is 45 degrees, as shown in Figure 13, is merely an example. For instance, the angle of inclination between the connecting section 32 and the main body 31 can be set within a range of 125 degrees to 145 degrees such that the angle of inclination of the score display surface 30 is between 35 degrees and 55 degrees. Furthermore, the fact that the angle of inclination of the score display surface is 75 degrees with the connecting section 33 attached to the mounting section 13 is merely an example. For instance, the angle of inclination between the connecting section 33 and the main body 31 can be set within a range of 145 degrees or greater such that the angle of inclination of the score display surface 30 is 55 degrees or greater. (7) Effects of the modified example

[0049] As described above, in the main body 31 of the music stand 3, the connecting section 33 is attached at a position different from that of the connecting section 32. When the connecting section 33 is attached to the mounting section 13, the connecting section 33 and the main body 31 are joined to each other at such an angle of inclination that the angle of inclination of the score-presenting surface 30 with respect to the horizontal plane is equal to or greater than 55 degrees. Thus, the connecting section 33 is attached to the mounting section 13, giving the music stand 3 a structure suitable for a musical performance style in which a conventional paper score is placed on the music stand 3.Furthermore, the connecting section 32 is attached to the mounting section 13, giving the music stand 3 the structure suitable for a musical performance style in which the tablet 5 is placed on the music stand 3. (8) Other embodiments

[0050] In the embodiment described above, the mounting section 13 is arranged to be adjacent to the rear end of the panel 12. That is, the mounting section 13 is arranged to be adjacent to the rear ends of the display 12A and the control unit 12B. In another embodiment, the mounting section 13 can be arranged to be adjacent to the rear end of the keyboard 11.

[0051] Although the tablet 5 in the embodiment described above is merely an example of an electronic device to be placed on the music stand 2, 3, this is only one example. For instance, a smartphone or a thin laptop computer could be placed on the music stand 2, 3 as an electronic device.

[0052] In the embodiment described above, the electronic keyboard musical instruments 1, 1A are described by way of example as embodiments of the musical instrument of the present disclosure. Additionally, the present disclosure can be applied to a keyboard musical instrument other than an electronic keyboard musical instrument. The keyboard musical instrument includes an acoustic piano, an organ, and the like. (9) Correspondences between components in the claims and parts in the preferred embodiments

[0053] In the following paragraphs, non-limiting examples of correspondences between various elements mentioned in the claims below and those described above are explained with respect to various preferred embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0054] In the embodiment described above, the keyboard 11 is an example of a performance control unit. In the embodiment described above, the support rod 25 is an example of a reinforcement device. In the embodiment described above, the connecting section 33 is an example of an additional connecting section. In the embodiment described above, the angle of inclination of the score-providing surface 20 or the score-providing surface 30 with respect to the horizontal plane, in a case where the connecting section 22 or the connecting section 32 is attached to the mounting section 13, is an example of a first angle. In the embodiment described above, the angle of inclination of the score-providing surface 30 with respect to the horizontal plane, in a case where the connecting section 33 is attached to the mounting section 13, is an example of a second angle.
