Abstract

Suspension system (101) for a vehicle (100), comprising: a controller (102) that is configured to: Determine (710) that the vehicle (100) is in a maintenance environment; and Setting (715) a height precision mode for the suspension system (101) based on the determination that the vehicle (100) is in the maintenance environment, wherein the height precision mode is a maintenance precision mode selected from a variety of height modes with different corresponding control tolerances, wherein the height modes further include a nominal precision mode, wherein in the maintenance precision mode changes to the ride height are made with a smaller control tolerance than in the nominal precision mode.

Claims

[1] Suspension system (101) for a vehicle (100), comprising: a controller (102) configured to: Determining (710) that the vehicle (100) is in a maintenance environment; and Setting (715) a height precision mode for the suspension system (101) based on determining that the vehicle (100) is in the service environment, wherein the height precision mode is a service precision mode selected from a plurality of height modes having different corresponding control tolerances, the height modes further comprising a nominal precision mode, wherein in the service precision mode, changes to the ride height are made with a smaller control tolerance than in the nominal precision mode. [2] The suspension system (101) of claim 1, wherein the controller is configured to modify the suspension system to be in the maintenance precision mode, wherein the controller (102) is further configured to disable an average axle control compensation of the vehicle (100) based on the determination that the vehicle (100) is in the maintenance environment. [3] The suspension system (101) of claim 1, wherein the controller (102) is further configured to determine whether the vehicle (100) is outside the service environment to set a height axle control mode, wherein the height axle control mode includes at least one average axle control methodology, wherein a height setting of the suspension is based on an average of two vehicle heights determined at a single axle of the vehicle. [4] The suspension system (101) of claim 1, wherein the controller (102) is further configured to determine whether the vehicle (100) is outside the service environment to set a height axle control mode, the height axle control mode further including an independent axle control methodology, wherein the first and second height adjustments are implemented independently on a first wheel of an axle of the vehicle and a second wheel of the axle. [5] The suspension system (101) of claim 4, wherein the controller (102) is configured to implement the independent axle control methodology in response to one of the following events: Detecting a height error; or Detecting an incomplete altitude correction. [6] Method (700) comprising: Determining (710) that a vehicle is in a maintenance environment; and Setting (715) a height precision mode for a suspension system of the vehicle based on determining that the vehicle is in the service environment, wherein the height precision mode is a service precision mode selected from a plurality of height modes having different corresponding control tolerances, the height modes further comprising a nominal precision mode, wherein in the service precision mode, changes to the ride height are made with a smaller control tolerance than in the nominal precision mode.
