Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a vehicle device for optimizing the storage space of a vehicle with at least one container which, in the mounted state and with respect to a vehicle coordinate system, is arranged behind a rear seat and has access from the vehicle cabin side.
[0002] Generic and prior-art vehicle equipment is known from US Pat. Nos. 3,951,446 and 4,479,675. These provide for a parcel shelf to have a flap that closes a container located below the lifting shelf. In both cases, the rear seats do not have headrests, as is typically found in modern vehicles. However, such headrests block access to the flaps located in the parcel shelves, which is why such vehicle equipment has not become established or widely accepted in modern vehicles.
[0003] According to JP 2010-116029 A, a first non-generic vehicle device with a pivoting rear seat and a pivoting accumulator is known, which is stored in the trunk of the vehicle.
[0004] A second non-generic vehicle device is disclosed in US 2014 / 012592 A1, which relates to an aircraft.
[0005] Based on a generic vehicle equipment, the object of the present invention is to optimize the available storage space in a vehicle. In particular, the storage space accessible from the vehicle cabin is to be increased.
[0006] This object is achieved by the vehicle device according to claim 1. According to the invention, the rear seat has at least one headrest, wherein the container and the headrest are arranged on a common axis aligned parallel to the x-axis of the vehicle coordinate system, and the headrest has a pivotable lid designed to open and close the container. As a result, access to the container and thus the expanded storage space is not blocked by a headrest, allowing convenient access to the container for depositing and / or removing objects.
[0007] Advantageous further developments of the invention are specified below and in the subclaims.
[0008] It is preferably provided that the pivot axis of the lid is aligned parallel to the y-axis of the vehicle coordinate system and is arranged such that the lid is pivoted upwards to open the lid. An open lid is then closed by pivoting the lid downwards about the pivot axis. The advantageous arrangement of the pivot axis prevents the lid from blocking or hindering access to the container. It is preferably provided that the lid is spring-loaded and mounted, whereby the lid can be pivoted from the open state to the closed state against the force of the spring. As a result, the lid is open when not loaded, which makes access to the container easier because the lid does not have to be held open with one hand.Irrespective of this, it is preferably provided that the lid can be locked in the closed state so that it is not automatically transferred into the open position.
[0009] According to an advantageous development of the invention, a backrest of the rear seat can be pivoted from a substantially upright position to a substantially horizontal position. When the backrest pivots, the headrest pivots simultaneously, completely exposing the container in the pivoted position.
[0010] The at least one container is preferably mounted detachably. This allows the container to be assembled or disassembled as needed to increase the remaining available storage space. A rail guide is preferably provided for detachably securing the container, in particular for guiding and holding the container. The rail guide is preferably lockable and, in particular, has two corresponding rails that are slidably connected to one another, with at least one rail being arranged on the container and at least one rail being arranged on the vehicle equipment.
[0011] According to an advantageous development of the invention, the vehicle equipment comprises a trunk with an underbody that conceals at least one recess designed to precisely accommodate the at least one container. If the container is removed, for example, to increase the otherwise available storage space, it can be precisely inserted into the provided recesses, which are then covered by the underbody of the trunk.
[0012] According to a further advantageous embodiment of the present invention, the container has a closable opening that allows access to the container from the trunk. Objects can therefore also be inserted into the container from the rear, for example, when shopping is being stowed in the trunk or when the trunk is being loaded with vacation luggage.
[0013] According to an advantageous development of the invention, the vehicle equipment can comprise several containers that can be mounted individually and in any number. The number of mountable containers is preferably equal to the number of headrests in the rear seat. In a conventional car with a rear seat with three seats and three headrests, three containers are detachably arranged, with each container being mounted with a headrest on a common axis that runs parallel to the x-axis of the vehicle coordinate system.
[0014] Specific embodiments of the present invention are explained below with reference to the figures. They show: Fig. 1-6 perspective views of a vehicle equipment, Fig. 7a, b Cross-sectional views of a headrest, Fig. 8 a cross-sectional view of a container in the assembled state and Fig. 9 a cross-sectional view of a trunk.
[0015] The Fig. 1 to 6 show perspective views of a vehicle device 100 designed to optimize the storage space of a (only partially shown) vehicle 10. For this purpose, the vehicle device 100 has three containers 11, which are arranged behind a rear seat 12 of the vehicle 10 with respect to a vehicle coordinate system, wherein the containers 11 have a vehicle-side access 13 or engagement for stowing, storing, and removing objects. The rear seat 12 has a backrest 14, which can be completely or partially separated from the Fig. 1 shown upright position into a Fig. 2 to 6. At the upper end, the backrest 14 has three headrests 15. When the backrests 14 are in the upright position, the containers 11 and the headrests 15 are arranged coaxially and thus on a common axis, so that the headrests 15 cover the access points 13 (or indentations) of the containers 11. The headrests 15 each have a cover 16 for opening and closing the containers 11, which can be pivoted about an axis aligned parallel to the y-axis of the vehicle coordinate system. The pivot axis is arranged such that the covers 16 are each pivoted upward.
[0016] The Fig. 7a, b show detailed views of a headrest 15 with a cover 16, each in a side view. According to this figure, the cover 16 is mounted in a spring-loaded manner, with a leaf spring 171 ( Fig. 7a) or a torsion spring 172 ( Fig. 7b). To prevent the lid 16 from closing without being held, the lid 16, in the illustrated embodiments, is closed against the force of the respective spring 17. To prevent the lid 16 from opening automatically in the closed state, a locking device 18 in the form of a safety bolt is provided.
[0017] The containers 11 are mounted detachably so that they can be moved according to the Fig. 4 to 6 can be removed from the vehicle equipment 100. For guiding and holding the containers 11, rail guides 19 and corresponding rails 191, 192 are provided, as shown in Fig. 8. Vehicle-side rails 191 are arranged thereafter, which each receive corresponding container-side rails 192 and fix them against falling or shifting.
[0018] According to a specific embodiment of the invention, the vehicle device 100 has a trunk 20 with a pivotable underbody 21, which limits further storage space upwards, as shown in Fig. 9. In the illustrated embodiment, the additional storage space comprises a recess 22 designed to precisely accommodate the containers 11, so that the containers 11 can be stowed safely and in a space-saving manner when they are not arranged as intended behind the headrests 15 of the rear benches 12. For this purpose, the containers 11 are moved from the position behind the headrests 14 into the recess 22 along the direction of the arrow 24.
[0019] The containers 11, as shown in Fig. 9, not only have access points 13 (or interventions) on the vehicle cabin side, but also closable openings 23 which, when the containers 11 are mounted, allow access to the containers 11 from the trunk side.
