Description

[0001] The invention relates to a prepackaging for a transported good, comprising at least one base element and at least three side elements and at least one cover element.

[0002] The invention also relates to a packaging system comprising a pre-packaging and an enveloping flat packaging.

[0003] The invention further relates to a method for providing a packaged transport item with pre-packaging.

[0004] Although the present invention is generally applicable to any transport goods, the present invention will be explained with reference to a substantially elongated, fragile transport goods.

[0005] Packaging systems have become known in a variety of forms. For example, long, fragile transport items such as bottles, carafes, drinking glasses, or the like are first wrapped in plastic film in the usual way and then placed in a transport container appropriately dimensioned for the transport item, such as a box. To prevent damage to the transport item, additional cushioning components such as bubble wrap, air cushions, paper or shredded cardboard, or the like are placed around the transport item in the transport container. Prefabricated cushioning inserts can also be arranged for insertion into the container, allowing for a cushioned arrangement of the transport item within the container. The transport container is then closed for transport.

[0006] The disadvantage of the known packaging systems is that, on the one hand, packaging of transported goods using the packaging systems is complex, and, on the other hand, the loose arrangement of prefabricated cushioning components results in either uneven padding or a high level of effort for the arrangement of suitable cushioning elements around the transported goods.

[0007] From EP 3 608 257 A1, a packaging system for a transported item, in particular in the form of sanitary products such as sinks and the like, has become known, wherein the transported item is at least partially provided with a pre-packaging comprising at least one floor damping device with a floor base essentially forming a plane and at least one floor damping element arranged protruding in a first direction from the floor base, and at least one ceiling damping device with a ceiling base essentially forming a plane and at least one ceiling damping element arranged protruding in a second direction from the ceiling base, wherein the floor damping device and the ceiling damping device are designed to receive the transported item between them, such that the damping elements arranged protruding in the first and second directions point in the direction of the transported goods and the pre-packaging is arranged at a distance from the respective base of the damping device by means of the protruding damping elements, in particular wherein the maximum extension of the respective damping device in the direction of the pre-packaging is different, in particular wherein the maximum extension of the floor damping device is greater than that of the ceiling damping device.

[0008] Disadvantages include the complicated structure of the damping devices and the lack of flexibility regarding the arrangement of various components and transport goods including additional components.

[0009] An object of the present invention is therefore to provide simple and sufficient damping for a particularly fragile transport item, optionally including additional components, to enable simple, sustainable and cost-effective production of a packaging and to provide a simple packaging and unpacking process for a user.

[0010] A further object of the present invention is to provide a pre-packaging, a packaging system and a method for providing a packaged transport item, which enable simple, sustainable and cost-effective packaging of transport items, if necessary including additional components, and enable easy disposal.

[0011] A further object of the present invention is to provide an alternative pre-packaging, an alternative packaging system and an alternative method for providing a packaged transport item.

[0012] In one embodiment, the present invention achieves the above-mentioned objects in a pre-packaging for a transport item, comprising at least one base element and at least three side elements and at least one cover element, wherein at least two of the elements can be fixed to one another, in particular by means of a detachable connection, in that the at least two elements, in the fixed state, are formed to one another by means of at least one connection in such a way that they completely envelop the transport item in the three spatial directions to form a transport space and space the transport item from the pre-packaging with respect to an enveloping flat packaging, in particular in at least two, in particular in all three spatial directions.

[0013] In one embodiment, the present invention achieves the above-mentioned objects by a packaging system comprising a prepack according to any one of claims 1-14 and an enveloping flat packaging which completely surrounds the prepack in the packaging position.

[0014] In one embodiment, the present invention achieves the above-mentioned objects by a method for providing a packaged transport item with a prepackaging according to one of claims 1-14, comprising the steps - Arranging the transported goods on the floor element, - Arranging the side elements in their respective packaging position, comprising securing the side elements to each other and to the base element, - Arranging the ceiling element and fixing the ceiling element to at least one side element, and in particular - Placing the pre-packaged goods in a flat, enveloping packaging.

[0015] One of the advantages achieved is that the transported goods, including any additional components, can be adequately secured against external damage, and simple and cost-effective production is enabled. Furthermore, easy disposal is possible. High user satisfaction is also ensured, as not only the packaging process but also the unpacking process is simplified by the user.

[0016] The term "transport position" in relation to the elements is to be understood in the broadest sense and refers, in particular in the claims, preferably in the description, to the position, arrangement or location of an element in which it is located during the transport of the goods with the pre-packaging.

[0017] The term “packaging position” in relation to the elements is to be understood in the broadest sense and refers, in particular in the claims, preferably in the description, to the position, arrangement or location of an element before or partly during the packaging of the transported goods.

[0018] The term "prepackaging" is to be understood in the broadest sense and refers, particularly in the claims, preferably in the description, to packaging, wrapping, or the like that completely or partially encloses the goods being transported, but which, due to its type, shape, material, and the like, is not suitable for shipping and / or carrying. In particular, prepackaging is only suitable for shipping if it is accompanied by additional outer packaging.

[0019] Further features, advantages and further embodiments of the invention are described below or will become apparent thereby.

[0020] According to an advantageous development of the invention, all elements can be releasably secured to one another by means of at least one connection, in particular by means of one or more plug-in connections. This enables simple and quick provision of the prepackaging. Likewise, a user can easily dispose of the prepackaging once they have removed the transported goods.

[0021] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the plug connections are provided by means of slots formed in the respective elements. This allows plug connections to be provided in a particularly cost-effective and simple manner.

[0022] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, at least one of the elements, in particular all of the elements, is made of the same material, in particular cardboard, preferably corrugated cardboard. This has the advantage of enabling particularly simple disposal. The laborious separation of different materials is eliminated, since adhesive tapes, foams, etc., are also not required.

[0023] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the at least one base element comprises at least one base and at least one, in particular two, pivotable side elements, in particular manufactured integrally with the base element. The advantage of this is a small number of individual elements, which simplifies the production of the prepackaging and handling during packaging.

[0024] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, at least one of the elements, in particular at least two, preferably all side elements, has a section that has twice the thickness, in particular wherein the section can be produced by pivoting a part of the element. The advantage of this is a simple provision of greater rigidity or strength.

[0025] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, at least one of the side elements is pivotable with the cover element, in particular, it is manufactured in one piece with it. This allows for easy insertion of the transported goods, as they can be inserted into the prepackaging from both the side and the top, and the side wall and cover can then be positioned.

[0026] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, at least one of the elements, in particular at least two elements, preferably the floor and ceiling elements, has at least one flat support area and / or at least one linear support area for the transported goods. The advantage of this is reliable positioning and cushioning of the transported goods in the prepackaging.

[0027] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the at least one flat and / or linear support area tapers at least partially relative to the respective element, starting from a base of the element in the direction of the transported goods. This has the advantage of dampening and spacing the support area from the base. The term "partially tapered" is to be understood in particular that a connection between the support area and the base can run diagonally in cross-section, while an opposite connection can run vertically. Here, the connection is not arranged between the support area and its projection onto the base.

[0028] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, at least two elements, in particular at least the base and side elements, can be secured to one another by means of at least two, preferably three, and especially four, connections. The advantage of this is a reliable attachment of the elements to one another.

[0029] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, a free space can be formed between at least two opposing side elements outside the transport space in the transport position. This provides increased flexibility in the arrangement of additional components and, in addition, provides additional space for spacing, which serves as an additional cushioning path in the event of damage or external force, for example, as a result of a drop onto the surrounding floor.

[0030] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the cover element has at least one handle hole, in particular, the handle hole being arranged laterally on the pre-packaging in the transport position. This allows a user to easily open the pre-packaging and remove the transported goods.

[0031] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, a second prepack is arranged to accommodate a second transported item, wherein the second prepack is designed such that it can be arranged in the enveloping flat packaging of the prepack. The advantage of this is a more flexible arrangement of further components on the prepack and in the packaging, in particular in an area between the prepack and the packaging, which is available for cushioning the prepack.

[0032] According to a further advantageous development of the invention, the second prepackaging comprises a base and four pivotable, in particular integrally connected, side elements, wherein the side walls are secured to one another in a transport position, in particular releasably, in particular by means of plug-in connections. The advantage of this is simple production of the second prepackaging, while simultaneously providing damping or protective elements for the second transported goods.

[0033] Further important features and advantages of the invention emerge from the subclaims, from the drawings and from the associated description of the figures with reference to the drawings.

[0034] It is understood that the features mentioned above and those to be explained below can be used not only in the combination specified in each case, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

[0035] Preferred embodiments and embodiments of the present invention are illustrated in the drawings and are explained in more detail in the following description, wherein the same reference numerals refer to the same or similar or functionally identical components or elements.

[0036] It shows in schematic form Fig. 1 a prepackage according to an embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2 Elements of the packaging system according to Fig. 1 in partial transport position with arranged transport goods; Fig. 3 a packaging system with a pre-packaging in transport position; Fig. 4 a second pre-pack in packaging position; Fig. 5 a side element in plan; Fig. 6 a ceiling element in the floor plan; Fig. 7 a floor element in the floor plan; Fig. 8 a second pre-packaging in plan view; and Fig. 9 Steps of a method according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0037] In general, the Fig. 1-3 steps to packing a transport item.

[0038] Fig. 1 shows a prepackage according to an embodiment of the present invention, Fig. 2 Elements of the packaging system according to Fig. 1 in partial transport position with arranged transport goods and Fig. 3 a packaging system with a pre-pack in transport position.

[0039] In Fig. 1 shows a pre-packaging 1. The pre-packaging 1 comprises a side element 2, a base element 3 and a cover element 4. The side element 2, which is also shown in Fig. 5 in the unfolded state, comprises two side walls 2a, which are produced by folding or pivoting one half of the side element 2. This doubles the wall thickness of the side element 2. At the Fig. 1 lower side of the side element 2 are arranged four slots 20, 21, 22, 23, which are perpendicular to the longer side of the side element 2 (in Fig. 1 from left to right). The outer slots 20, 21 in the longitudinal direction are deeper or longer than the other two slots 22, 23, with slot 23 being arranged in the middle, relative to the longitudinal extent of the side element 2.

[0040] The base element 3 comprises a base 3b, on which two side walls 3a, 3c are arranged, formed integrally with the base 3b. The side walls 3a, 3c are designed essentially analogously to the side element 2, i.e., they are produced by folding or pivoting a respective half of the side element 3a, 3c, so that the respective side element 3a, 3c has twice the wall thickness. Slots 30, 31, 32, which extend vertically downward, are arranged on the respective upper side of the side element 3a, 3c. The outer slots 30, 31 are longer, corresponding to the slots 20, 21 of the side element 2, i.e., they extend approximately half the vertical extent of the respective side element 3a, 3c.To package a transport item 90 - here in the form of a glass bottle - the side element 2 with its slots 20, 21 is then inserted into the slots 30 of the two side walls 3a, 3c of the base element 3.

[0041] The base 3b of the base element 3 further comprises two triangular elevations in the form of folds or creases 50, 51, which extend parallel to the side elements 3a, 3c on the base 3b. The elevations can also be formed by webs only. The term "fold" is used synonymously with the term "fold." The fold or crease 51 is essentially centrally located - in Fig. 1 in relation to the extension from left to right - between the two side elements 3a, 3c and the fold 50 is between the fold 51 and the Fig. 1 left side wall 3a. Furthermore, the fold 50 extends from the base 3b higher than the fold 51 and has two slots 50a, 50b extending from top to bottom. The slot 22 of the side element 2 corresponds to the slot 50a, and the slot 23 corresponds to the fold 51, so that in the transport position, when the side element 2 is arranged on the base element 3, the slots 50a, 22 engage with each other and the fold 51 engages with the slot 23.

[0042] The cover element 4 comprises a side element 4a, which is designed analogously to the side element 2, wherein, in contrast to the side element 2, a cover 4b now adjoins its upper longitudinal edge. The cover 4b is pivotally connected to the side element 4a in one piece. Analogous to the base 3b of the base element 3, the cover 4b of the cover element 4 has a flat contact area 53 which is arranged centrally in the packaging position and unfolded in the transport position and which also functions as a spacer for the transported item 90. This is also continued on both sides by a fold 54, analogous to the fold 51 of the base 3b, wherein the fold 54 extends perpendicular to the direction of extension of the fold 51. The transported item 90 is arranged between the contact areas 52, 53 in the transport position. In addition, the cover 4b has a handle hole 60 arranged laterally in the transport position for pulling up the cover 4b by a user to unpack the transported goods 90. The cover element 4 is attached with its side element 4a to the base element 3, analogous to the side element 2, on the side opposite the side element 2 by inserting slots 40, 41 (see . Fig. 6) are secured in the slots 31 of the floor element 3. The two elements, side element 2 and ceiling element 4, are symmetrically designed so that they can also be secured on the other side of the floor element 3. The slot 42 corresponding to the slot 22 engages the slot 50b of the rebate 50, and the slot 43, corresponding to the slot 23, covers the slot 51 in the floor element 3.

[0043] In Fig. 2 is now the prepackaging 1 according to Fig. 1, in which the ceiling element 4 and the side element 2 are fixed to the base element 3, but with the ceiling 4b of the ceiling element 4 folded out. The side element 2 and the base element 3 are thus in the transport position, the ceiling element 4 in the packaging position. The transport item 90 rests on the support surface 52 (not shown) of the base element 3 and on the fold 50. When the ceiling 4b of the ceiling element 4 is folded down, the fold 54 then engages in the slots 32 of the side elements 3a, 3c of the base element 3 from above, at the same time the contact area 53 is brought into contact with the transport item 90 and the end area of the ceiling 4b engages in the slots 30 of the side element 3a, 3c. Overall, the transport item 90 is thus completely surrounded by the side, base and ceiling elements 2, 3, 4.

[0044] As in Fig. 2, the respective projecting areas of the side walls 2a, 3a, 3c, 4a, due to the arrangement of the slots 20, 21, 30, 31, 40, 41, provide free spaces 71, 72, 73, 74 between the longitudinal and transverse sides of the side elements 2, 3a, 3c, 4a, into which, for example, a second pre-packaging 80 for a further transported item 91 (see Fig. 4). The fold 54 can be used as a positioning and / or centering aid.

[0045] Fig. Figure 3 now shows the prepackaging 1 fully in the transport position. The prepackaging 1 is then inserted as an inlay into a transport box 100, for example a folding box, designed according to the dimensions of the side elements 2, 3a, 3c, 4a, 4b, and then closed. The transport box 100 is flat and rests with its respective surfaces on the projecting areas of the side elements 2, 3a, 3c, 4a, 4b, which form the free spaces 71, 72, 73, 74, as well as on the floor 3b and the ceiling 4b.

[0046] Fig. 4 shows a second prepack in packaging position.

[0047] In Fig. 4 shows a second pre-pack 80 for an oval, flat transport item 91 - here in the form of a lid for the glass bottle 90. The second pre-pack 80 has a rectangular base 85, from which multiply foldable flaps 86, 87, 96, 97 extend laterally along the four edges of the base 85. The second transport item 91 is arranged in the center of the base 85. The lateral flaps 96, 97 each have two slits 81, 82 and 83, 84, respectively, in which the flaps 86, 87 partially engage in the transport position and thus envelop the second transport item 91. In addition, the Fig. 4 side flap 96 has a centrally arranged slot 88', which leads to a slot 88 (see Fig. 8) in the base 85 at least partially corresponds. Using this slot 88, 88', the second prepackaging 80 can, for example, be inserted into the free space 74 (see Fig. 1), wherein the slot 88, 88' is then arranged partially in engagement with the fold 54.

[0048] Fig. 5 shows a side element in plan view.

[0049] In Fig. 5 shows the side element 2 in the unfolded state after its manufacture, for example, by punching a flat cardboard box. The side element 2 has larger slots 20, 21 and smaller slots 22, 23, which are arranged parallel to each other. The length (in Fig. 5 from bottom to top) of the larger slits 20, 21 is at least twice as large, in particular more than three times as large as the length of the shorter / smaller slits 22, 23. The width of all slits 20, 21, 22, 23 is the same, but can also be different. The ratio of length to width of the smaller slits 22, 23 is at least 7:1, in particular more than 8:1, and that of the larger slits 20, 21 is at least 20:1. In order to fix the side element 2 to the base element 3, it is folded 180 degrees around the axis A, whereby the axis A (in Fig. 1 running from left to right) perpendicular to the longest extension of the slots 20, 21, 22, 23.

[0050] Fig. 6 shows a ceiling element in plan view.

[0051] In Fig. 6 shows the cover element 4 in its unfolded state after its manufacture. The cover element 4 has a side element 4a with slots 40, 41, 42, 43. The length and width of the slots 40, 41, 42, 43 correspond to the slots 20, 21, 22, 23. The side element 4a is folded around the axis F corresponding to the axis A.

[0052] Adjacent to the side element 4a is a cover element 4b, which can be folded with the side element 4a around an axis E. To provide the support area 53 and the fold 54 in the transport position, additional folding axes C, CD, D, and CD1-CD4, respectively, are formed. Another folding axis B is arranged in the area of the handle hole 60, so that the handle hole extends around the edge formed by the axis B when folding.

[0053] Fig. 7 shows a floor element in plan view.

[0054] In Fig. 7, a base element 3 is shown. The base element 3 has two identical side elements 3a, 3c, each provided with two larger lateral slots 30, 31 and a central, but smaller slot 32. The side elements 3a, 3c can each be folded together by 180 degrees about an axis G or Q in order to increase, in particular double, the wall thickness in the transport position. The base 3b adjoins the side element 3a on the right or the side element 3c on the left, wherein the two side elements 3a, 3c are each arranged so as to be pivotable with the base 3b about an axis PQ or H. To provide the support areas 52, 52', several folding axes J, K, L, HJ1, HJ2 as well as LM1 and LM2 or M, P, PN1, PN2 are arranged parallel to the axes P, Q, G, H. As in Fig. 1, the base 3b has slots 50a, 50b in the fold 50. The support area 52 is larger in terms of its contact surface for the transported goods than the support area 53 of the ceiling element 4.

[0055] Fig. Figure 8 shows a second prepackaging in plan view.

[0056] In Fig. 8 shows a second pre-pack 80 in the unfolded state. The second pre-pack 80 has a base 85, to which Fig. 8 tabs 86, 87, each arranged at the top and bottom over a plurality of folding axes B1, B2, B3 and B4, B5, B6, respectively, are connected. In the transport position, the end regions of the tabs 86, 87 engage in corresponding slots 81, 82, 83, 84 by folding them over several times along axes R, S, T, U, V and W, X, Y, Z, AA, respectively, which are formed in the tabs 96, 97. A slot 88' extends above this from the base 85 into the area of the tab 96 and over two folding axes U, V. The slot 88, which is smaller than the slot 88', is arranged on the outside of the tab 96 in the imaginary extension of the slot 88'. Fig. 9 shows steps of a method according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0057] Fig. 9 shows steps of a method for providing a packaged transport item with a prepackaging according to one of claims 1-14.

[0058] The procedure includes the following steps: - Arranging S1 of the transported goods 90 on the floor element 3, - Arranging S2 the side elements 2, 3a, 3c, 4a in their respective packaging position, comprising securing the side elements 2, 3a, 3c, 4a to each other and to the base element 3, - Arranging S3 of the ceiling element 4 and fixing the ceiling element 4 to at least one side element 4a, and in particular - Transfer S4 of the pre-packaged transport goods 90 into a flat enveloping packaging 100.
