Abstract
Description
[0001] Picks are essential tools for musicians who play stringed instruments such as guitar, mandolin, or bass. However, due to their small size, picks are often lost or difficult to find when needed. Current solutions for storing picks often involve bulky containers or special bags that are not always convenient to carry and often don't allow for quick access to the picks.
[0002] Therefore, there is a need for a holder that is compact, easily accessible and secure for storing picks and keeping them in close proximity to the musician.
[0003] The following publications are known to be state of the art: D1: CN 2 04 032 592 U () D2: US 10 043 495 B1 D3: US 7 626 103 B1
[0004] These publications each show individual features, but do not contain a combination of all the characterizing features of the present invention.
[0005] The present invention provides an innovative plectrum holder characterized by a particularly slim design and magnetic attachment to metallic and magnetic surfaces, such as smartphones. The plectrum holder is designed to securely hold plectrums of various thicknesses and shapes while allowing quick access to them. Features of the invention 1. Magnetic Attachment: The pick holder (12) contains powerful magnets (5) that allow it to be securely attached to metallic and magnetic surfaces, such as smartphones with integrated or added metal or magnetic rings. The magnet ensures a stable hold on the surface and keeps the holder in place even with movement or vibration. 2. Enhanced adhesive force through elastomer feet (4): In addition to magnetic attachment, the pick holder (12) is equipped with elastomer feet (4). These feet increase the frictional force between the pick holder (12) and the mounting surface, thus ensuring additional stability. This combination of magnetic adhesion and frictional force ensures that the holder does not slip, even during strong movement or vibration. 3. Slot-like recess (7) for receiving plectrums (3): The plectrum holder (12) contains several narrow, slot-like recesses (7) into which plectrums (3) of different thicknesses can be inserted. These are designed to accommodate a variety of plectrum types without them falling out or shifting. 4. Elastomer inserts (2) for a secure hold: To ensure that the picks are held securely in the slot-like recesses (7) regardless of their thickness, the pick holder (12) is equipped with elastomer inserts (2). These adapt to the thickness of the respective pick and create a clamping effect (10;11) that prevents the picks from accidentally falling out. This allows the pick holder to securely hold picks from different manufacturers and of different thicknesses. 5. Slim design for maximum mobility: A key feature of the plectrum holder according to the invention is its extremely slim design. The compact arrangement of the plectrums in the slot-like recesses (7) keeps the plectrum holder (12) flat and lightweight, which significantly facilitates carrying it in trouser pockets, guitar cases, or handbags. This slim design is particularly well-suited for keeping the holder readily accessible at all times, especially when used with a smartphone. Advantages of the invention • Easy to carry: Thanks to the magnetic attachment, the pick holder can be easily attached to mobile devices that the user carries with them anyway. This significantly reduces the risk of losing picks. • Secure hold for picks: The elastomer inserts, which are fixed to the recessed base surfaces, offer a flexible clamping mechanism, so that picks of different thicknesses and manufacturers are held securely. • Increased stability: The combination of magnetic force and elastomer feet ensures a secure attachment that does not weaken even when the holder is subjected to vibrations or movements. • Compact design: The slim design of the plectrum holder minimizes the space required and allows the user to take the holder anywhere without it being a nuisance. [0006] The following refers to the drawings Fig. Reference is made to Figures 1-12. The plectrum holder (12) for receiving plectrums (3) according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention comprises a base body (1), several elastomer inserts (2) which are attached to a recessed base body surface (6) by means of an adhesive bond, and plectrums (3) of different thicknesses, which are each inserted into the slot-shaped recesses (7). Elastomer feet (4) are also fitted into a recessed base body surface (9) and fixed by means of an adhesive bond. Several magnets (5) are fixed in a recessed base body surface (8) to ensure stable adhesion to metallic and magnetic surfaces.
[0007] The base body features recessed markings (13) that differentiate the slot-shaped recesses (7) into categories corresponding to the plectrum thicknesses to be carried. Marking I allows for a plectrum thickness range of 0.4 to 0.6 mm, marking II from 0.6 to 0.9 mm, and marking III from 0.9 to 1.2 mm. The height of the horizontal slot-shaped recesses (7), which can be adjusted at any time, determines the appropriate plectrum thickness.
[0008] The elastomer insert (2) ensures that the picks in the various categories are held securely. In its installed position, the insert forms a shoulder (15) that creates a clamping effect when the pick is inserted into the slotted recesses. The picks are fixed between the clamping point of the elastomer insert (10) and the clamping point of the base body (11). The flexibility of the elastomer insert (2) allows for the secure holding of picks of varying thicknesses.
[0009] A recess (14) on the elastomer insert (2) further facilitates gripping and removing the picks.
