Description

[0001] The invention relates to a stand for storing one or more containers with a maximum capacity of 500 ml, in particular one or more spice containers.

[0002] Various types of stands or shelves are known from the state of the art for storing spice containers, among other things. For example, there are spice racks that can be mounted in a kitchen cabinet and feature multiple shelves for the corresponding spice containers. Removing the spice containers from such racks is often not user-friendly.

[0003] US Pat. No. 8,985,347 B2 discloses a spice rack in which spice containers are individually held in elastic receptacles. To remove a spice container, a user must push the corresponding receptacle apart using the spice container. Other container racks are known from US Pat. Nos. 11,638,497 B2, 11,180,302 B2, and JP S50-143 872 U. The object of the invention is to provide a rack for storing one or more containers, and in particular spice containers, which ensures easy removal and storage of the containers.

[0004] This object is achieved by the stand according to claim 1. Further developments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.

[0005] The stand according to the invention serves for storing one or more containers with a maximum capacity of 500 ml. The stand is preferably designed for storing one or more standard household and commercially available spice containers. Nevertheless, the stand can also be used for storing other containers or other utensils, provided the capacity of the respective container does not exceed 500 ml.

[0006] The stand according to the invention comprises one or more frames. Each frame has a storage area for a number of containers (i.e. for at least one container), wherein the storage area extends along a first direction from a rear side to a front side of the frame and along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. A user has access to the number of containers in the respective frame via the front side of the frame. When the stand or the respective frame is used as intended, the first and second directions are horizontal directions perpendicular to one another, wherein the first direction represents the depth direction of the respective frame and the second direction the length or width of the respective frame. In a preferred variant, the storage area is rectangular.Furthermore, the storage area is preferably a flat surface so that the number of containers can be easily placed on the storage area.

[0007] In addition to the support surface, each frame includes a support surface, which, similar to the support surface, is preferably rectangular in shape. The support surface is spaced from the support surface in a third direction, which is perpendicular to the first and second directions, and is opposite it. When the stand or the respective frame is used as intended, the third direction corresponds to the vertical direction.

[0008] The support surface of each frame comprises a first section and a second section, the first section running substantially parallel to the first and second directions. In other words, the first section is a substantially flat surface that lies horizontally during the intended use of the frame. The first section extends along the first direction from the rear of the frame to the second section, which runs diagonally along the first direction to the first section and toward the support surface up to a front edge of the support surface.

[0009] Furthermore, the holding surface for a respective container of at least a part of the number of containers and preferably each container of the number of containers has an opening with a continuous edge for receiving the respective container, wherein the opening is located in both the first section and the second section.

[0010] The stand according to the invention is characterized by a corresponding opening for receiving a container located horizontally in the rear area and sloping downwards in the front area. This ensures, on the one hand, a secure hold of the container received in the opening and, on the other hand, easy removal of the container from the opening or simple placement of the container in the opening.

[0011] In order to accommodate multiple containers in the stand according to the invention, in a particularly preferred variant, several openings, and in particular at least four openings, are arranged next to one another in the holding surface of the respective frame along the second direction. In a further preferred variant, the respective frame is made of metal, in particular of stainless steel and optionally also of aluminum, thereby achieving high stability.

[0012] The corresponding opening in the holding surface can have various shapes, as long as it has a continuous and, in this sense, closed edge. In a preferred variant, the opening is an outwardly curved opening without any bends along its edge. This takes into account that spice containers often have a cylindrical shape.

[0013] In a particularly preferred variant, the outwardly curved opening defines the intersection of a torus with the holding surface, with the torus, starting from the support surface, where the circular cross-section of the torus is perpendicular to the third direction, describing an arc toward the holding surface, which extends to the front of the frame. This ensures that the corresponding container can be removed from or inserted into the opening in a curved manner. This achieves a particularly high level of user-friendliness.

[0014] In a further preferred embodiment, the opening is substantially circular or oval in plan view, with the largest dimension of the opening in the second direction preferably being between 40 mm and 70 mm. With these dimensions, the majority of standard household spice containers can be accommodated in the corresponding opening.

[0015] The second section provided in the holding surface can have a different shape, provided it runs at an angle to the first section and towards the storage area. If necessary, the inclination of the second section can also change along the first direction. For example, the second section can also be curved in a section perpendicular to the second direction. In a particularly preferred variant, however, the second section is a flat surface that is inclined at a fixed angle to the first section, wherein the angle between the side of the first section facing the storage surface and the side of the second section facing the storage surface is preferably between 120° and 140°. With these dimensions, good operability of the corresponding frame for removing or placing containers and the stability of the containers is guaranteed.

[0016] In a further preferred variant, between 15% and 50%, preferably between 18% and 25%, of the line corresponding to the greatest extent of the opening in the first direction lies within the second section, with the remainder of the line lying in the first section. This ensures a sufficient size of the sloping, front area of the opening for easy removal or placement of containers.

[0017] In a further preferred variant, the line corresponding to the largest dimension of the opening in the first direction has a length between 100% and 110% of the length of the line corresponding to the largest dimension of the opening in the second direction. In a further embodiment, the line corresponding to the largest dimension of the opening in the second direction has a length between 40 mm and 70 mm.

[0018] In a further preferred variant, the front edge of the holding surface runs within the base and / or along an edge of the base, as viewed from above, thereby ensuring compact dimensions of the frame while simultaneously ensuring good usability. Preferably, the front edge of the holding surface is aligned with a front edge of the base.

[0019] In a further preferred embodiment, the distance between the support surface and the first section of the holding surface is constant, i.e., the support surface is a flat surface, analogous to the first section. This distance is preferably between 40 mm and 70 mm, in particular between 45 mm and 60 mm. In a further preferred variant, the greatest width of the support surface in the first direction is between 100% and 125% of the distance between the support surface and the first section. In a further embodiment, the distance between the support surface and the first section is between 60% and 90% of the greatest extent of the opening in the second direction.

[0020] Preferably, the largest width of the support surface in the first direction is between 60 mm and 70 mm. Preferably, the largest width of the support surface in the first direction is at least as large as the largest dimension of the opening in the second direction. Preferably, the width of the support surface in the first direction is constant across the second direction.

[0021] In a further preferred variant, the respective frame has a length in the second direction that lies between 240 mm and 400 mm. This allows the frame to be arranged along a vertical side wall of standard kitchen cabinets.

[0022] In a further preferred embodiment, the respective frame has a rear wall on its rear side, wherein the rear wall, the support surface, and the holding surface preferably form a single-piece component, preferably made of metal and particularly preferably stainless steel. This ensures easy manufacture of the frame. Optionally, the respective frame can have an additional side wall on its front side. Preferably, however, the respective frame is open at the front, making the interior of the frame very easily accessible for cleaning or assembly.

[0023] In a further preferred embodiment, the respective frame is delimited along the second direction by two side walls. Preferably, each side wall is fixed to the frame via at least two lugs that engage in corresponding slots in the frame. This ensures a simple, positive connection between the side wall and the frame.

[0024] In a further preferred variant, the support surface and the holding surface are elastically deformable relative to each other along the third direction, whereby by pulling the holding surface and the support surface apart along the third direction, a respective side wall can be removed from the frame and replaced with the other side wall. This variant of the stand according to the invention allows for personalization of the corresponding frame by changing the side walls.

[0025] In a further preferred embodiment, a pull-out is provided on the rear of the respective frame, which, when fastened to a wall, enables the respective frame to be extended along the wall in the second direction. With this variant, the frame can be fastened, for example, to the inside of a vertical side wall of a kitchen cupboard, with good access to the containers being ensured by extending the frame. The pull-out is preferably a full extension, i.e. the frame can be pulled out along its entire extent in the second direction. In a further preferred embodiment, the pull-out is a ball-bearing pull-out, in which the corresponding guides of the pull-out are ball-bearing mounted.

[0026] In a preferred variant of the embodiment just described, the drawer comprises a locking mechanism with which the respective frame can be locked in the retracted state when the drawer is attached to a wall. Preferably, the locking mechanism can be activated and released by exerting a pressure force in the retracted state, counter to the extension direction of the frame. This locking mechanism thus represents a known push-to-open function.

[0027] In a further preferred embodiment, one or more struts are provided on the back of the stand, via which several frames are connected to one another and / or via which the stand can be hung on a wall, for example on the inside of a kitchen cabinet door.

[0028] Embodiments of the invention are described in detail below with reference to the attached figures.

[0029] They show: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a frame of an embodiment of a stand according to the invention; Fig. 2 a front view of the frame of the Fig. 1; Fig. 3 a top view of the frame of the Fig. 1; Fig. 4 a side view of the frame of the Fig. 1, where the side wall has been omitted and a spice container is additionally indicated; Fig. 5 a side view of the frame of the Fig. 1, showing the side wall; Fig. 6 a top view analogous to Fig. 5, where only the side wall is shown; Fig. 7 a perspective view of an embodiment of the stand with extension; Fig. 8 is a perspective view showing a first variant of the fastening of the stand from Fig. 7 on a vertical side wall of a cabinet; Fig. 9 a perspective detail showing a second variant of the mounting of the stand from Fig. 7 on a vertical side wall of a cabinet; Fig. 10 a detailed view from the front of the spacer bar and inner guide rail from Fig. 9; Fig. 11 is a perspective view of another embodiment of a stand according to the invention; and Fig. 12 a view of the stand from Fig. 11 from the back.

[0030] In the following, we will first examine Fig. 1 to Fig. 6, the frame of an embodiment of a stand according to the invention is described. In these figures, corresponding spatial directions are indicated by a Cartesian coordinate system with an x-direction, y-direction, and z-direction. The x-direction and the y-direction run horizontally, with the x-direction being the direction of the frame from back to front and the y-direction being the direction of the frame from left to right. In contrast, the z-direction represents the vertical direction or height direction. The x-direction corresponds to the first direction within the meaning of claim 1, the y-direction corresponds to the second direction within the meaning of claim 1, and the z-direction corresponds to the third direction within the meaning of claim 1.

[0031] Fig. 1 shows the frame 2 of an embodiment of a stand 1 according to the invention. The stand 1 is a spice stand in which containers in the form of standard household spice containers can be stored. In one variant, the stand 1 consists only of the frame 2, which can be placed freestanding, e.g., on a kitchen work surface. The frame 2 comprises a front side VS and a rear side RS. When the stand is used as intended, the corresponding spice containers 30 (see Fig. 4) removed from the front VS from the frame 2 or fed into the frame 2.

[0032] The frame 2 comprises a rectangular and flat support surface 3 and a support surface 4 located above it. Furthermore, a rear wall 7 extends vertically along the rear side RS of the frame 2 between the support surface 3 and the support surface 4. The support surface 3, the support surface 4, and the rear wall 7 are a single-piece component, which in the embodiment described here is made of stainless steel, but can also be made of another metal (e.g., aluminum) or material (e.g., plastic). The support surface 3, the rear wall 7, and the support surface 4 are formed by bending a corresponding stainless steel sheet.

[0033] The support surface 3 is defined by a front edge 3a, a rear edge 3b, a left side edge 3c, and a right side edge 3d. Similarly, the support surface 4 is defined by a front edge 4a, a rear edge 4b, a left side edge 4c, and a right side edge 4d. The frame 2 is further defined by two vertical side walls 5 in the y-direction. The side walls 5 are held in a form-fitting manner by means of lugs 501 in corresponding slots 9, as will be described below with reference to Fig. 5 and Fig. 6. Several holes 8 are provided on the rear wall 7, through which the frame 2 can be screwed to a pull-out or corresponding struts, depending on the application.

[0034] The holding surface 4 comprises, in the variant described here, five identical openings 6, each having a circumferential edge 601. The openings 6 are essentially circular in shape. Furthermore, the holding surface 4 consists of a first section 401 and a second section 402. The first section 401 extends horizontally in the x-direction from the rear wall 7 to the front and ends at an intermediate edge 4e, which is interrupted by the respective openings 6. The second section 402, which is inclined downwards relative to the first section, adjoins the intermediate edge 4e in the x-direction. The supply and removal of the respective spice containers 30 takes place via the openings 6 (see Fig. 4).

[0035] A key feature of the invention is that each opening 6 is formed in both the first section 401 and the second section 402. This results in an oblique profile in the front region of the opening 6, which enables easy removal of the corresponding spice container 30 from the opening 6 and easy insertion of the spice container 30 into the opening 6. Furthermore, the part of the opening 6 that extends in the first section 401 ensures that the spice container 30 is securely held in the opening 6.

[0036] Fig. 2 shows a front view of the frame 2 from Fig. 1. From Fig. 2 shows that a total of six holes 8 are provided on the rear wall 7 of the frame 2. Furthermore, it can be seen that the openings 6 extend diagonally downwards in the region of the second section 402.

[0037] Fig. 3 shows a top view of the frame 2 of the Fig. 1. The shape of the openings 6 and their surrounding edge 601 is shown. Fig. 3 for the left opening 6, the largest extent of the opening in the x-direction is indicated by the dashed line Lx and the largest extent of the opening in the y-direction by the dash-dotted line Ly. To ensure good removal of the respective spice containers from the openings 6, between 15% and 50%, preferably between 18% and 25%, of the line Lx are located within the second section 402. In the example of Fig. 3, approximately 20% of the line Lx lies in the second section 402. The length of the line Ly is preferably in a range of 40 mm to 70 mm, so that standard household spice containers can be stored in the frame 2.

[0038] In order to ensure a very good arcuate removal of a corresponding spice container from the frame 2, the opening 6 describes the intersection surface of a torus with the holding surface 4, wherein the torus, starting from the support surface 3, in which the circular cross section of the torus is perpendicular to the z-direction, describes an arc in the direction of the holding surface 4, which arc runs to the front side VS of the frame 2.

[0039] Fig. 4 shows a top view in y-direction of the frame 2 of the Fig. 1, wherein the side wall 5 has been omitted and further a spice container 30 is shown, which is just being removed from a corresponding opening 6. It can be seen from Fig. 4 clearly shows that the opening allows for an arcuate removal of the spice container 30 from the frame 2. Furthermore, it can be seen that the second section 402 extends obliquely downwards at an angle α to the horizontally extending first section 401. The angle α describes the inclination between the underside of the first section 401 and the underside of the second section 402. In the embodiment described here, the angle α is approximately 120°. To ensure easy removal of the spice container, the angle α is preferably in a range between 120° and 140°. Fig. 4 further shows that the front edge 4a of the holding surface 4 is aligned in the z-direction with the front edge 3a of the support surface 3.

[0040] Fig. 5 shows a top view in y-direction of the frame 2 of the Fig. 1, where the side wall 5 is now visible. Fig. 5 shows the positions of three slots 9 formed in the frame 3. An upper slot is provided in the holding surface 4, a rear slot in the rear wall 7, and a lower slot in the support surface 3. The slots receive respective lugs 501 formed at corresponding positions in the side wall 5. This is shown in Fig. 6, which shows the side wall 5 in isolation. It can be seen that two opposing lugs 501 are formed in the top and bottom of the side wall 5, and another lug 501 is formed on the left. The lugs 501 are positioned in the slots 9 described above, so that the side wall 5 is held in the frame 2 by a positive fit.

[0041] The side panel 5 can be removed from the frame 2 without tools and replaced with another side panel. To do this, a user slightly bends the holding surface 4 and the support surface 3 of the frame 2 apart so that the tabs 501 move out of the slots 9 and the side panel 5 can be removed. By replacing the side panels 5, the frame 2 can be customized. For example, side panels 5 with a personalized print or engraving can be inserted into the frame 2.

[0042] As described above, the frame 2 can be used in a standalone variant as a stand 1. In this case, the frame 2 is placed on a worktop with the underside of the base 3 resting on it. If necessary, suitable studs can be attached to the underside of the base 3 to prevent the frame 2 from slipping or being scratched.

[0043] Fig. 7 to Fig. 12 show variants in which frame 2 is used in combination with an extension or struts. For reasons of clarity, Fig. 7 to 12 no longer show all reference symbols from the previous figures. Fig. 7 to Fig. 10 show the use of the frame 2 in a stand 1 with a pull-out, which allows the frame 2 to be extended when the pull-out is attached to a vertical side wall of a cabinet. The pull-out is in Fig. 7 is designated by reference numeral 10 and is attached to the rear wall 7 of the frame 2 via a screw connection. Some of the holes 8 in the rear wall 7 are used for this purpose.

[0044] The drawer 10 comprises an inner guide rail 11, a pull-out rail 12 and an outer guide rail 14 (made of Fig. 8). The extension rail 12 is guided on the inner guide rail 11 and the outer guide rail 14. The inner guide rail 11 is screwed to a corresponding wall, whereas the outer guide rail 14 is screwed to the rear of the frame 2. The extension 10 is a full-extension ball-bearing system. This means that the extension rail 12 is supported by balls, and the frame 2 can be extended over its entire length.

[0045] In Fig. Figure 7 shows the drawer 10 in its fully extended state. A locking lever 13 can be seen, which prevents further extension of the drawer rail 12 relative to the inner guide rail 11 to the left. By moving the locking lever upward, the inner guide rail 11 can be pulled out of the drawer rail 12. Once the inner guide rail 11 has been removed from the drawer rail 12, the inner guide rail 11 can be attached to a suitable wall. The frame 2 can then be attached to the wall by reinserting the drawer rail 12 into the guide rail 11.

[0046] Fig. Figure 8 shows a perspective view of a first variant of the fastening of the stand 1 of the Fig. 7 inside a cabinet. The cabinet's shelf 20 and a vertical side wall 21 are indicated. To attach the stand 1 or frame 2, the inner guide rail 11 is first screwed to the vertical side wall 21 using corresponding screws 15. Subsequently, the pull-out rail 12 is inserted into the inner guide rail 11, as shown in Fig. 8. The frame 2 is then extendably attached to the side wall 21.

[0047] In the embodiment described here, the drawer 10 has a so-called push-to-open function, which is known per se from the prior art. This function allows the frame 2 to be locked in the retracted state and released by exerting pressure on the left side panel 5. After releasing the lock, the user can extend the frame 2 from the interior of the cabinet and remove the desired spice containers.

[0048] Fig. 9 shows a fastening of the frame 2 to a cupboard wall, which is different from the fastening of the Fig. 8 is modified. In the scenario of Fig. 9, a hinge 16 for a cabinet door is provided on the vertical side wall 21. This hinge prevents the frame 2 from extending if the inner guide rail 11 is screwed directly to the vertical side wall 21, as shown in Fig. 8. Therefore, the fastening of the inner guide rail 11 is carried out in the variant of the Fig. 9 has a spacer bar 17, which has a U-shaped profile. This can also be seen in the detailed view of the Fig. 10. As can be seen, the U-shaped spacer bar 17 separates the inner guide rail 11 from the hinge 16. The inner guide rail 11 is in turn screwed to the vertical side wall 21 via screws 15, with the screws being inserted through aligned holes in the inner guide rail 11 and the spacer bar 17.

[0049] Fig. Figure 11 shows a perspective view of another variant of a stand 1 according to the invention, in which two frames 2 are arranged one above the other. Fig. 11, two spice containers 30 are shown, which are accommodated in corresponding openings 6. The distance between the two frames is selected such that the spice containers 30 in the lower frame can be easily removed from the openings 6. The two frames 2 are connected to each other via struts, whereby the struts correspond to the spacer strips 17 made of Fig. 9 and Fig. 10. To connect the frame 2 with the spacer bars 17, screws 15 are used, which are screwed with corresponding nuts 18 on the back of the stand 1 (see Fig. 12).

[0050] Typically, a corresponding frame 2 is supplied together with the above-described pull-out 10 and the spacer bar 17. The user can then decide whether to use the frame 2 in a cabinet in combination with the pull-out 10 (with or without the spacer bar 17). Alternatively, the user can also use the frame on its own as a spice rack by placing it on a suitable work surface. Likewise, the user can purchase two or more frames and then connect them using the supplied spacer bars 17, as shown in Fig. 11 is shown.

[0051] Fig. 12 shows another view from behind of the stand 1 of the Fig. 11. One recognizes Fig.12, that two vertically extending spacer bars 17 are provided, which connect the two frames 2 to each other. Furthermore, another spacer bar 17 is provided on the upper frame between the two vertical spacer bars and is screwed to the upper frame. The stand 1 can be placed on a worktop or hung using the vertical spacer bar 17 (e.g., on the inside of a kitchen cabinet door).

[0052] The embodiments of the invention described above have a number of advantages. In particular, a stand for standard household spice containers is created that allows the spice containers to be easily removed from the stand. For this purpose, a special frame is used that has openings that run both in a vertical section and in a slanted section of a holding plate. The frame can be used on its own as a spice rack, or it can be equipped with a pull-out, allowing the frame to be extended when mounted in a kitchen cupboard. Furthermore, several frames can be connected to one another, allowing more spice containers to be stored in the stand.
