Abstract

A method for controlling a multiphase motor is provided, comprising controlling a stator of the multiphase motor to generate a first magnetic field component, which has a constant magnitude and rotates at a rotational frequency, and to generate a second magnetic field component, which rotates at the rotational frequency and whose magnitude varies at a modulation frequency. Depending on the multiphase motor, the first magnetic field component is either at an angle to the first magnetic field component or parallel to it.
