AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing fresques are susceptible to atmospheric conditions, particularly affected by microorganisms like algae and mold, lack mechanical resistance, and require frequent maintenance, using inorganic materials that are not color fast and not vapor permeable.

Method used

Production of fresques using organic materials resistant to microorganisms, mechanically robust, vapor permeable, and highly water-repellent, with a process involving application of elastic thin-layer organic plasters and tools for shaping and finishing, followed by impregnation with suitable coatings.

Benefits of technology

Results in fresques that are resistant to algae and mold, do not require additional preservation, and maintain aesthetic integrity under varying environmental conditions, ensuring durability and color stability.

Abstract

According to the invention, the fresco is created using a material and a technique that is resistant to microorganisms (algae, mold), mechanically durable, requires no additional preservation, is vapor-permeable, highly water-repellent, and highly colorfast. A deep primer is applied to a treated base wall plastered with a breathable adhesive or to a transferable substrate. A flexible, thin-layer silicone or acrylic plaster with a grain size of 0.05 to 1.00 mm and a thickness of 1 to 7 mm is then applied. This plaster is then finished with a glaze, a glaze with additives, or organic paints. After drying, the organic surface is impregnated. To create a smooth fresco surface, the surface is sanded manually or with a sander after drying before impregnation. The sanded surface is then impregnated. Impregnation can be carried out using silicone oils (transparent, opaque, for highlighting), impregnating oils (transparent, opaque), concrete oils, or wax for decorative plaster. To create cracks and crevices, the plaster is applied in a thinner state or the drying process is accelerated by applying heat or airflow, or a combination of both.
