Abstract

Summary: The invention describes a stackable, mechanically secured storage solution for sensitive digital keywords, consisting of a modular plate structure with laser-engraved metal inserts, the visibility of which is limited by a masking plate (5). Tool-free or manual assembly is supported by a special tool plate (7) and a throw-in tool (8). The invention offers high security, ease of handling, and permanent archiving of seed phrases in physical form.

Description

Technical field: The invention relates to the field of data security and cryptography, in particular the physical storage of recovery phrases (“mnemonic phrases” or “seed phrases”) for digital crypto wallets. The aim is to provide a device for the permanently secure, mechanically stable, and user-friendly storage of these phrases. State of the art: Currently available solutions for storing seed phrases range from engraved metal plates and modular plug-in systems to DIY methods using washers and metal punches. Products such as "Blockplate 24," "Cryptosteel Capsule," and "Keystone" are well-known examples. The most obvious product is registered under patent number CN 216145174 U. However, these often exhibit cumbersome handling, unstructured data arrangement, or a lack of integrity under mechanical stress. None of these systems allows for intuitive, tool-free assembly with targeted masking and a defined clamping fit. Object of the invention: To create a device that makes it possible to permanently physically secure 12, 13, 24 or 25 digital keywords, which is both non-destructive and user-friendly to install, and at the same time offers a high degree of mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance. Summary of the invention: The invention consists of a stackable set of plates that are assembled into a compact unit by means of screw connections. A central plate (3) has numbered recesses (3a) for receiving plates (4) with a laser-structured surface. The plates (4) serve to physically encode one seed word each. A masking plate (5) with corresponding viewing cutouts (5a) conceals the remaining words. Assembly is carried out using a tool plate (7) that accommodates the screw heads, and a manual locking tool (8) for manually tightening the nuts. An optional cover plate can completely conceal the unit. Detailed description of the invention: The device consists of several precisely aligned plate modules: • The base plate (1) contains four bores for receiving screws (2). • The middle plate (3) has 12-25 recesses (3a) into which plates (4) are inserted. • The masking plate (5) contains viewing cutouts (5a) that reveal only one plate (4) at a time. • The cover plate (6) protects the entire surface from visibility and environmental influences. • The tool plate (7) has hexagonal recesses (7a) for fixing the screw heads. • The locking tool (8) is designed as a handle body with an internal nut receptacle and a knurled exterior. The components are assembled in the following order: Tool plate (7) at the bottom, with four screws (2) inserted into it, then the base plate (1), the middle plate (3) with plate (4), the masking plate (5), and optionally the cover plate (6). Four cap nuts are screwed on top. The assembly tool (8) facilitates manual assembly. The plates (4) are preferably made of stainless steel and are permanently marked with a seed word by laser structuring. The masking plate (5) prevents unauthorized reading of all words and also provides mechanical support.

Claims

Device for the non-destructive, modular storage of 12, 13, 24 or 25 digital keywords (seed phrases), comprising: ◯ a base plate (1) with multiple through holes, ◯ a middle plate (3) with a plurality of numbered recesses (3a) for receiving plates (4), ◯ a masking plate (5) with corresponding viewing openings, ◯ laser-structured, temperature and corrosion-resistant plates (4), ◯ a screw system with tool plate (7) and cap nuts, ◯ a manual assembly tool (8). Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the plates (4) are made of stainless steel and are at least 0.5 mm thick. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the masking plate (5) fits positively onto the middle plate (3) and creates a clamping fit. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the tool plate (7) has hexagonal recesses to prevent the rotation of the screw heads. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the locking tool (8) is designed as a cylindrical body with a grooved outer surface and suitable internal geometry for receiving the cap nuts. Device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that an optional cover plate (6) is provided which serves as a privacy screen and is placed on the nuts.
