Abstract

The invention relates to a method for determining a blockage in an exhaust system (1) through which exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine (2) flows, in which: a measurement quantity characterizing a residual oxygen content in the exhaust gas is measured by means of a sensor (5); and the blockage of the exhaust system (1) is determined as a function of the measured measurement quantity.
