Abstract
The invention relates to a method for the aerodynamically optimized adjustment of a rear spoiler (3) of a vehicle (1), whereby the position of the rear spoiler (3) relative to the vehicle (1) is changed to minimize turbulence occurring in a wake zone (33) of the airflow at the rear of the vehicle. In this method, which further improves the aerodynamics in the rear of the vehicle, the air density in the wake zone (33) is determined based on current vehicle and / or vehicle environment conditions during the vehicle's (1) operation, and, depending on the determined air density, the angle of attack (μ) of the rear spoiler (3) is adaptively adjusted to minimize turbulence occurring in the wake zone (33) at the rear.
