Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention relates to a display device provided, for example, on a machine tool, and more particularly relates to a display device in which a display unit and a controller therefor are structurally independent of each other. TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a display device including a display unit and a control unit. In the display device, the control unit, which is independent of the display unit, is detachably connected to the back surface of the display unit.
[0003] According to the known technique, as in Fig. As shown in Figure 16, a display device 101 including a display unit 102 and a control unit 103 has an external terminal 118 connected thereto for connection to an external element. The external terminal 118 can be inserted into / removed from a terminal (not shown) provided at the lower edge portion of the control unit 103 in the thickness direction of a casing 105 in which the display device 101 is provided (typically, the front-to-rear direction D1). Thus, the casing 105 has an increased thickness, thereby enlarging the display device 101.
[0004] A front-back direction D1, a top-bottom direction D2 and a left-right direction D3 are in Fig. 16 when viewing the display screen of the display unit 102 from the front. Specifically, the direction from the control unit 103 toward the display unit 102 is defined as the forward direction D11, a direction opposite to the forward direction D11 is defined as the reverse direction D12, and the forward direction D11 and the reverse direction D12 are collectively defined as the front-to-back direction D1. An upward direction D21 and a downward direction D22 opposite to the upward direction D21 are collectively defined as the up-down direction D2.
[0005] Accordingly, it has been proposed to align the insertion / removal direction of an external connector with the direction in which the rear surface of a display unit extends. Typically, the external connector is provided at the bottom edge portion of a control unit such that the external connector can be inserted / removed in the up-down direction. This reduces the thickness of the housing, allowing the display device to be compact.
[0006] In this case, however, when attempting to insert / remove the external connector from the back of the display unit, it is difficult to see the insertion hole through which the external connector is inserted into the control unit, thereby degrading the insertion / removal performance of the external connector. Furthermore, the insertion / removal space for the external connector is narrow, making it difficult to operate. Therefore, the external connector can be inserted / removed while the control unit, which has been removed from the display unit, is placed on a workbench.
[0007] When the display device is mounted in the housing, cables connected to the external connector are secured by a clamp or bundled by inserting them through a channel. Thus, the cables have almost no additional length, and in many cases, the control unit, which is remote from the display unit, cannot be brought to the workbench. List of citationsPatent document

PREFERRED MODE OF OPERATION FOR IMPLEMENTING THE INVENTION
[0012] In the following, a display device according to an aspect of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in Fig. 1 and Fig. As shown in Fig. 2, a display device 1 according to the first embodiment includes: a display unit 2; a control unit 3 that controls the display unit 2; connecting parts 4 that connect the display unit 2 and the control unit 3; and a housing 5 in which the display unit 2 and the control unit 3 are provided in a connected state. For example, the display device 1 is provided on a machine tool 6 for machining an object. The display device 1 hangs from a body part 7 of the machine tool 6 via a support portion 8. The display device 1 may also be attached to an outer surface of the body part 7 of the machine tool 6.
[0013] The display unit 2 includes a liquid crystal display screen 9. Note that the display screen 9 is not limited to a liquid crystal type and may be of other types. For example, the control unit 3 is a numerical control unit for a machine tool 6 based on computer numerical control (CNC).
[0014] In the following, a front-back direction D1, an up-down direction D2, and a left-right direction D3 are defined when viewing the display screen 9 of the display unit 2 from the front. More specifically, the direction from the control unit 3 to the display unit 2 (direction from the lower right area to the upper left area in Fig. 2) is defined as the forward direction D11 or front side D11, the direction opposite to the forward direction or front side is defined as the backward direction D12, rear side D12 or back side D12 and these directions are collectively defined as the front-to-back direction D1. An upward direction D21 or a top side D21 (upward direction in Fig. 2) and a downward direction D22 or a bottom side D22, which is opposite to the upward direction or the top side, are collectively defined as the top-bottom direction D2. A left direction D31 or a left side D31 (direction from the lower left area to the upper right area in Fig. 2) and a right-hand direction D32 or a right-hand side D32 that is opposite to the left-hand direction or the left side are collectively defined as the left-right direction D3. Some of the drawings depict arrows indicating these directions.
[0015] As in Fig. 1, the display screen 9 is arranged on the front surface (front side D11) of the display unit 2. As shown in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, a user interface unit 10 connected to an external device (not shown) is provided on the rear surface (rear surface D12) of the display unit 2. The user interface unit 10 is detachably provided on the left side D31 at a lower edge portion (bottom surface D22) of the rear surface of the display unit 2. A connector 11 is provided on the rear surface of the display unit 2. The connector 11 is provided on the left side D31 at an upper edge portion (top surface D21) of the rear surface of the display unit 2. A pair of engagement portions 12 and 13 are arranged in the left-right direction D3 on the rear surface of the display unit 2.The first engaging portion 12 of the pair of engaging portions 12 and 13 is provided at a left edge portion (left side D31) of the rear surface of the display unit 2, and the second engaging portion 13 is provided at a right edge portion (right side D32) of the rear surface of the display unit 2. Insertion portions 14 are provided at four corners of the rear surface of the display unit 2. Each insertion portion 14 is rod-shaped and provided on the rear surface of the display unit 2 and protrudes in the rear direction D12.
[0016] As in Fig. 2, Fig. 4 and Fig. As shown in Fig. 5, the control unit 3 includes an accommodating body 15 having a box shape. A controller (not shown) for controlling the display unit 2 is accommodated in the accommodating body 15. A through-hole 17 penetrating in the front-rear direction D1 is provided in a front plate 16 of the accommodating body 15. A terminal (not shown) connected to the terminal 11 of the display unit 2 is provided in the accommodating body 15 at a position corresponding to the through-hole 17. The accommodating body 15 is provided with a pair of engagement receiving portions (not shown). One of the pair of engagement receiving portions is provided on a left side plate of the accommodating body 15, and the other engagement receiving portion is provided on a right side plate thereof.Functions of the pair of intervention receiving areas are described below.
[0017] The control unit 3 may have a plurality of external terminals 18 connected thereto for connecting to elements outside the control unit 3. Each external terminal 18 is insertably / removably connected to a terminal (not shown) provided at a lower portion of the control unit 3. In the illustrated example, the insertion / removal direction of the external terminals 18 is the top-bottom direction D2, which is orthogonal to the thickness direction (usually front-back direction D1) of the control unit 3.
[0018] The connecting parts 4 each include a bending area 19, a first engagement receiving area 20, first contact areas 21 and second contact areas 22. As in Fig. 2 to 5, the bending portion 19 and the first abutment portions 21 are arranged on the rear side D12 of the display unit 2, and the first engagement receiving portions 20 and the second abutment portion 22 are arranged on the front side (front side D11) of the control unit 3. The bending portion 19 and the first abutment portion 21 of each of the connecting parts 4 in the first embodiment integrally form a first connecting portion 23. A pair of first connecting portions 23 are arranged in the left-right direction D3. The first engagement receiving portion 20, the second abutment portions 22, and a through hole 27 (described below) form a second connecting portion 24. A pair of second connecting portions 24 are arranged in the left-right direction D3.The first connecting portion 23 and the second connecting portion 24 are opposed to each other in the front-rear direction D1 on each of the left side D31 and the right side D32, thereby forming a set of connecting parts.
[0019] The pair of first connection portions 23 are formed integrally with the display unit 2. One of the pair of first connection portions 23 is provided at an upper edge portion of the rear surface of the display unit 2 on the left side D31, and the other first connection portion 23 is provided at an upper edge portion of the rear surface of the display unit 2 on the right side D32.
[0020] Each of the first connecting portions 23 includes a plate piece portion 25, which is plate-shaped and connected to the rear surface of the display unit 2, and a bending portion 19 that bends upward (upward direction D21). The plate piece portion 25 is connected to an upper edge portion of the rear surface of the display unit 2 and extends toward the rear side D12. The plate surface of the plate piece portion 25 faces the up-down direction D2. The bending portion 19 is provided at a rear edge portion (rear side D12) of the plate piece portion 25. The bending portion 19 is connected to the plate piece portion 25 so as to bend in the upward direction D21. In the first embodiment, the bending portion 19 is provided integrally with the plate piece portion 25. However, the bending portion and the plate piece portion may be separate bodies. Regarding the left-right direction D3, as in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, the bending portion 19 is provided at a substantially central portion of the plate piece portion 25 in the left-right direction D3. Thus, the plate piece portion 25 includes portions extending outward from the bending portion 19 in the left-right direction D3. The outwardly extending portions constitute the first abutment portions 21. That is, both edge portions of the plate piece portion 25 in the left-right direction D3 are the first abutment portions 21.
[0021] The pair of second connection portions 24 are integrally formed with the control unit 3. One of the pair of second connection portions 24 is provided in an upper edge portion of the control unit 3 on the left side D31, and the other second connection portion 24 is provided in an upper edge portion of the control unit 3 on the right side D32.
[0022] Each of the second connection portions 24 includes a first engagement receiving portion 20 engaged by a bending portion 19, and second abutment portions 22 abutting against the first abutment portions 21. The first engagement receiving portion 20 includes a through-hole provided to penetrate an upper plate 26 of the receiving body 15 of the control unit 3 in the up-down direction D2. The first engagement receiving portion 20 is shaped like a quadrilateral when viewed in a plan view. The second abutment portions 22 are a pair of plate-shaped portions provided on the inner surface side of the upper plate 26 of the receiving body 15 of the control unit 3. The pair of second abutment portions 22 extend downward from the upper plate 26. Each second abutment portion 22 of the pair of plate-shaped second abutment portions 22 extends in the front-rear direction. Thus, the abutment surface of each of the second abutment portions 22 faces in the up-down direction D2. The pair of second abutment portions 22 are arranged so that the first engagement receiving portions 20 are located therebetween. As shown in FIG. Fig. 4 and Fig. As shown in Figure 5, a through-hole 27 is provided on the front side D11 of each of the first engagement receiving portions 20 in the front plate 16 of the receiving body 15 of the control unit 3. The through-hole 27 penetrates the front plate 16 in the front-to-rear direction D1 and extends in the front-to-rear direction D1.
[0023] The display device 1 has such a configuration. Accordingly, guiding the first connecting parts 23 of the display unit 2 through the through holes 27 of the control unit 3 connects the control unit 3 by causing the control unit 3 to approach the display unit 2 linearly in the forward direction D11, as shown in Fig. 6, the display unit 2 and the control unit 3 are shown at the upper portions thereof. Under this condition, the pair of engagement portions 12 and 13 are engaged with the above-mentioned pair of engagement receiving portions (not shown) of the receiving body 15. The terminal 11 of the display unit 2 is inserted into the interior of the receiving body 15 through the through hole 17. When the display unit 2 and the control unit 3 have been connected, each pair of second abutment portions 22 abuts against the left and right first abutment portions 21 of a plate piece portion 25. Specifically, the second abutment portion 22 on the left side of the pair of second abutment portions 22 abuts against the left first abutment portion 21 of the plate piece portion 25, and the second abutment portion 22 on the right side abuts against the right first abutment portion 21 of the plate piece portion 25.
[0024] As described above, each pair of second abutment portions 22 is arranged with a first engagement receiving portion 20 therebetween. Thus, the pair of second abutment portions 22 do not contact the bending portion 19 while the display unit 2 and the control unit 3 are connected. Accordingly, the pair of second abutment portions 22 are arranged on the control unit 3 side at a position that does not cause interference between the pair of second abutment portions 22 and the bending portion 19.
[0025] When the control unit 3 is attached to the back surface D12 of the display unit 2 in the manner described above, the insertion / removal direction of the external terminal 18 is the direction in which the back surface of the display unit 2 extends. Note that, according to the prior art, the insertion / removal direction of the external terminals 18 would be the thickness direction of the display unit 2, as described above. In the illustrated example of the present invention, however, the insertion / removal direction of the external terminals 18 arranged at the lower edge portion of the control unit 3 is the up-down direction D2.
[0026] When the control unit 3 has been attached to the display unit 2, the control unit 3 can be removed from the display unit 2 by moving the control unit 3 in the reverse direction D12. Moving the control unit 3 in the reverse direction D12 separates the first connecting portions 23 from the control unit 3, thereby breaking the connection between the display unit 2 and the control unit 3. Thus, causing the control unit 3 to be linearly spaced from the back of the display unit 2 in the reverse direction D12 makes it possible to detach the control unit 3 from the display unit 2 by means of the connecting parts 4. As described above, the connecting parts 4 can connect the display unit 2 and the control unit 3. Thus, the connecting parts 4 can detachably connect the back D12 of the display unit 2 to the control unit 3.Connect control unit 3.
[0027] As in Fig. 1, the housing 5 has a rectangular box shape. The display unit 2 is attached to the front plate of the housing 5. When attaching the display unit 2 to the housing 5, the insertion portions 14 provided on the display unit 2 are inserted into an insertion hole (not shown) provided in the front plate of the housing 5. Under this condition, the display unit 2 is fixed to the housing 5 with, for example, a screw. When the display unit 2 has been attached to the housing 5, the control unit 3 attached to the display unit 2 is received in the housing 5 through an opening portion (not shown) provided in the front plate of the housing 5. In this way, the display unit 2 and the control unit 3 are attached to the housing 5.
[0028] The housing 5 hangs from the body part 7 of the machine tool 6 via the support portion 8. The housing 5 is provided on the support portion 8 so that it is capable of rotating on a rotation axis in the up-down direction D2. Therefore, the control unit 3 is exposed by the display device 1 with respect to the state in Fig. 1 is rotated and then a rear plate is removed from the housing 5. Accordingly, tasks for the control unit 3 can be easily performed.
[0029] Next, descriptions will be given of operations with the display device 1 that occur when executing a task for the control unit 3. When executing a task for the control unit 3, the control unit 3 provided in the housing 5 is exposed as described above. Then, the control unit 3 is operated as shown in Fig. 7, the control unit 3 is moved in the reverse direction D12 relative to the state in which the control unit 3 is attached to the display unit 2. The control unit 3 is moved in the reverse direction D12 until the engagement between the first engagement areas 21 and the second engagement areas 22 is released. When the engagement between the first engagement areas 21 and the second engagement areas 22 is released, the bending areas 19 are located in the control unit 3.
[0030] Then, as in Fig. 8, the control unit 3 is moved in the downward direction D22 with respect to the display unit 2. Consequently, the bending portions 19 are engaged by the first engagement receiving portions 20. Specifically, the front end portions of the bending portions 19 penetrate the first engagement receiving portions 20, and the base end portions of the bending portions 19 contact the top plate 26. Accordingly, during the process of causing the control unit 3 to be linearly spaced from the back of the display unit 2 in the backward direction D12, moving the control unit 3 in a direction (downward direction D22 with respect to this example) different from the linear spacing direction allows the connecting parts 4 to form the engagement between the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20.
[0031] In the first embodiment, when the bending portions 19 have been engaged by the first engagement receiving portions 20, the control unit 3 can be operated as shown in Fig. 9, with engagement portions of the bent portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20 serving as the pivot point, and with the left-right direction D3 defined as the rotation axis (rotation center). Thus, the connecting parts 4 connect the control unit 3 and the display unit 2 such that the control unit 3 can be rotated to be spaced apart from or approached by the rear side D12 of the display unit 2. Since the control unit 3 can be rotated with respect to the display unit 2, the lower edge portion of the control unit 3 can be spaced apart from or approached by the display unit 2. Accordingly, the connecting parts 4 connect the control unit 3 and the display unit 2 such that the external terminals 18 can be rotated, with the external terminals 18 being arranged on the outside in the radial direction (side away from the rotation axis).
[0032] In the display device 1 according to the first embodiment, the insertion / removal direction of the external terminals 18 provided on the control unit 3 is the direction in which the rear surface of the display unit 2 extends. Thus, the display device 1 can be made compact. In the display device 1 according to the first embodiment, the control unit 3 can be rotated with respect to the display unit 2. Therefore, when inserting / removing an external terminal 18 into / from the rear surface of the control unit 3, the control unit 3 can be rotated with respect to the display unit 2. In this way, the above-mentioned terminal (not shown), which is a connecting part through which the external terminal 18 is connected to the control unit 3, can be easily visually inspected, so that the external terminal 18 can be easily inserted into / removed from the control unit 3.
[0033] In the display device 1 according to the first embodiment, the connecting parts 4 each include a bending portion 19, a first engagement receiving portion 20, first abutment portions 21, and second abutment portions 22. Thus, the display device 1 according to the first embodiment enables the connecting parts 4 to have a simple configuration.
[0034] With respect to the display device 1 according to the first embodiment, during the process of causing the control unit 3 to be linearly spaced from the back of the display unit 2 in the backward direction D12, moving the control unit 3 in a direction (downward direction D22) different from the linear spacing direction (backward direction D12) allows the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20 to be engaged with each other. Thus, the display device 1 according to the first embodiment can easily cause the bending portions 19 to be engaged by the first engagement receiving portions 20.
[0035] In the following, a second embodiment of the display device of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 10 and Fig. 11. Components with identical reference numerals to those in the first embodiment have analogous functions, and descriptions thereof will be omitted below. A display device 1a according to the second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the configuration of connecting parts 4. Specifically, the connecting parts 4 each include: a pair of hinge portions 28 disposed on the rear side D12 of the display unit 2; and a pair of sliding engagement portions 29 disposed on the front side D11 of the control unit 3.
[0036] The pair of hinge portions 28 are formed integrally with the display unit 2. One of the pair of hinge portions 28 is provided at an upper edge portion of the rear surface of the display unit 2 on the left side D31, and the other hinge portion 28 is provided at an upper edge portion of the rear surface of the display unit 2 on the right side D32.
[0037] Each of the hinge portions 28 includes a plate-shaped fixed piece 30 and a plate-shaped movable piece 31. The fixed piece 30 and the movable piece 31 are rotatably coupled to each other. The rotation axis extends in the left-right direction D3. As shown in Fig. As shown in Fig. 10, the fixed piece 30 is fixed to the back surface of the display unit 2 with, for example, screws 32, thereby fixing the hinge portion 28 to the back surface of the display unit 2. When the hinge portion 28 is fixed to the display unit 2, the movable piece 31 extends substantially horizontally from the display unit 2. The hinge portion 28 in the second embodiment is configured such that the movable piece 31 does not rotate downward relative to the state in which the movable piece 31 extends horizontally. The movable piece 31 includes a second engagement receiving portion 33. The second engagement receiving portion 33 is a hole provided so as to penetrate the movable piece 31.
[0038] The pair of shift engagement portions 29 are formed integrally with the control unit 3. One of the pair of shift engagement portions 29 is provided in an upper edge portion of the control unit 3 on the left side D31, and the other shift engagement portion 29 is provided in an upper edge portion of the control unit 3 on the right side D32.
[0039] As described below, each of the sliding engagement portions 29 can slide along a movable piece 31. The sliding engagement portion 29 is provided in the upper plate 26 by providing a continuous groove 34 in the upper plate 26 (by forming a recess in the upper plate 26). The groove 34 includes a first groove (not shown), a second groove (not shown), and a third groove 343. The first and second grooves are arranged to be spaced apart from each other in the left-right direction D3. The first and second grooves are provided to penetrate the upper plate 26 in the up-down direction D2. The first and second grooves extend in the front-back direction D1. The third groove 343 is provided to penetrate the upper plate 26 in the up-down direction D2.The third groove 343 connects the front end portion of the first groove and the front end portion of the second groove (end portions on the front side D11). The sliding engagement portion 29 is provided in the top plate 26 by providing the first groove, the second groove, and the third groove 343. The sliding engagement portion 29, which is plate-shaped, can be elastically deformed upward and downward with the rear end portion (end portion on the rear side D12) thereof as a fulcrum. The sliding engagement portion 29 includes a protrusion portion 35 engaged by the second engagement receiving portion 33. The protrusion portion 35 is provided on the inner surface side of the sliding engagement portion 29. The protrusion portion 35 protrudes from the sliding engagement portion 29 in the downward direction D22. The front surface of the protrusion portion 35 is an inclined surface.Surface extending in the backward direction D12 and inclined in the downward direction D22.
[0040] As in Fig. 11 and Fig. As shown in Figure 12, a through hole 36 is provided on the front side D11 of each of the sliding engagement portions 29 in the front plate 16 of the receiving body 15 of the control unit 3. The through hole 36 is a hole that penetrates the front plate 16 in the front-rear direction D1.
[0041] The display device 1a according to the second embodiment has such a configuration. Thus, guiding the movable pieces 31 of the hinge portions 28 through the through-holes 36 of the control unit 3, bringing the control unit 3 closer to the display unit 2 linearly in the forward direction D11, connects the display unit 2 and the control unit 3. Bringing the control unit 3 closer to the display unit 2 while guiding the movable pieces 31 through the through-holes 36 brings the rear edge portions of the movable pieces 31 into contact with the front surfaces of the projection portions 35. Bringing the control unit 3 further closer to the display unit 2 brings the projection portions 35 into contact with the upper surfaces of the movable pieces 31, elastically deforming the sliding engagement portions 29 upward.Control unit 3 still closer to the display unit 2 causes the sliding engagement portion 29 to slide along the movable pieces 31, with the projection portions 35 in contact with the upper surfaces of the movable pieces 31.
[0042] Once the control unit 3 has been attached to the display unit 2 in this manner, the control unit 3 can be removed from the display unit 2 by moving the control unit 3 in the reverse direction D12. Moving the control unit 3 in the reverse direction D12 separates the movable pieces 31 from the control unit 3, thereby breaking the connection between the display unit 2 and the control unit 3.
[0043] Next, descriptions will be given of operations with the display device 1a that occur when executing a task for the control unit 3. When executing a task for the control unit 3, the control unit 3 provided in the housing 5 is exposed as described above. Then, the control unit 3 is operated as shown in Fig. 11, the control unit 3 is moved in the reverse direction D12 with respect to the state in which the control unit 3 is attached to the display unit 2. Moving the control unit 3 in the reverse direction D12 causes the sliding engagement portions 29 to slide along the movable pieces 31, with the projection portions 35 in contact with the upper surfaces of the movable pieces 31. Once the projection portions 35 arrive at the second engagement receiving portions 33 of the movable pieces 31, the projection portions 35 are deformed downward and inserted into the second engagement receiving portions 33. Consequently, the projection portions 35 of the sliding engagement portions 29 are engaged by the second engagement receiving portions 33. In the second embodiment, when the sliding engagement portions 29 have been engaged by the second engagement receiving portions 33, the control unit 3 can be moved as shown in Fig. 12 can be rotated upwards or downwards by means of the hinge areas 28.
[0044] Therefore, when inserting / removing an external connector 18 into / from the rear side D12 of the control unit 3, the control unit 3 can be rotated upward with respect to the display unit 2. In this way, the above-mentioned connector (not shown), which is a connecting part through which the external connector 18 is connected to the control unit 3, can be easily visually inspected, so that the external connector 18 can be easily inserted / removed into / from the control unit 3.
[0045] In the display device 1a according to the second embodiment, the connecting parts 4 each include: a hinge portion 28 disposed on the display unit 2 side; and a sliding engagement portion 29 disposed on the control unit 3 side. Thus, the display device 1a according to the second embodiment enables the connecting parts 4 to have a simple configuration. Because the display device 1a has such a configuration, the sliding engagement portions 29 and the second engagement receiving portions 33 can be engaged with each other simply by moving the control unit 3 in the reverse direction D12 with respect to the display unit 2. Accordingly, according to the display device 1a according to the second embodiment, operations with the display device 1a when performing a task for the control unit 3 can be easily performed.
[0046] In the following, a third embodiment of the display device of the present invention will be described with reference to Fig. 13, Fig. 14 and Fig. 15. Components with identical reference numerals to those in the first embodiment have analogous functions, and descriptions thereof may be omitted below. A display device 1b according to the third embodiment can hold the control unit 3 inclined with respect to the display unit 2. In particular, connecting parts 4 each include an engagement holding portion 37 for maintaining the engagement between a bending portion 19 and a first engagement receiving portion 20.
[0047] The engagement holding portions 37 each have a groove 38 provided in the upper plate 26 of the receiving body 15 of the control unit 3. The groove 38 penetrates the upper plate 26 in the up-down direction D2. The groove 38 is provided in the upper plate 26 so as to merge with the front edge portion of the first engagement receiving portion 20. The groove 38 extends from the first engagement receiving portion 20 toward one side in the left-right direction D3. Although the groove 38 extends from the first engagement receiving portion 20 in the left direction D31 in the illustrated example, it may extend in the right direction D32.
[0048] As in Fig. 13 and Fig. As shown in Figure 15, inclined surfaces 39 are provided within the receiving body 15. When the control unit 3 is attached to the display unit 2, the inclined surface 39 extends in the forward direction D11 and is inclined in the downward direction D22. The inclined surface 39 is positioned on the bottom side D22 with respect to the groove 38.
[0049] The display device 1b according to the third embodiment has such a configuration. Thus, the bending portions 19 are moved into the grooves 38 by causing the control unit 3 to slide toward the other side in the left-right direction D3, with the control unit 3 rotated upward as in the first embodiment. In the illustrated example, the grooves 38 extend in the left direction D31, so that the control unit 3 is caused to slide in the right direction D32. Moving the bending portions 19 into the grooves 38 brings about, as in Fig. 14 and Fig.15, the bending portions 19 are in contact with the inclined surfaces 39. In this way, the control unit 3 can be held inclined with respect to the display unit 2, with the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20 interengaged. Accordingly, moving the control unit 3 in a direction different from the movement direction for forming the engagement between the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20 enables the engagement holding portions 37 to maintain the engagement between the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20.
[0050] The display device 1b according to the third embodiment can hold the control unit 3 tilted relative to the display unit 2. Thus, when inserting or removing an external connector 18, an operator does not need to support the control unit 3 of the display device 1b according to the third embodiment with the control unit 3 tilted. Accordingly, the external connectors 18 can be inserted or removed more easily.
[0051] The present invention is not limited to the embodiments and includes variations and improvements with which objects of the present invention can be achieved.
[0052] For example, the direction in which the rotation axis (rotation center) of the control unit 3 extends is not limited to the left-right direction D3, but may be the up-down direction D2. The linear spacing direction is not limited to the front-back direction D1 (backward direction D12). The direction (movement direction for forming the engagement between the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20) other than the linear spacing direction is not limited to the downward direction D22, but may be a diagonal downward direction. The direction other than the movement direction for forming the engagement between the bending portions 19 and the first engagement receiving portions 20 is not limited to the left-right direction D3.
[0053] In the second embodiment, the angle formed between the fixed piece and the movable piece of each hinge portion may be set to a predetermined angle. Typically, the hinge portion may be a torque hinge.
[0054] In the second embodiment, a terminal connecting part between the display unit 2 and the control unit 3 may be a flexible printed circuit board (FPC).
