Curable silicone composition and its uses

Abstract

A curable composition comprises an alkenyl-containing component containing an alkenyl-diterminated polyorganosiloxane; a hydride-containing component containing a hydride-substituted polyorganosiloxane; and optionally, a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane. At least some of the alkenyl-diterminated polyorganosiloxane, the hydride-substituted polyorganosiloxane, the polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane, or a combination thereof, contains phenyl side groups, and the curable composition has a certain phenyl content. Curable compositions, including compressible foams produced from the curable composition, and processes for producing the curable compositions are also disclosed.
