Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a pressure relief unit for a mobile protection system for quarantine and fire control of electric vehicles and electrochemical high-voltage storage systems or a mobile storage system with at least one substantially closed interior space.
[0002] Extinguishing damaged electric vehicles or high-voltage storage units often poses problems and hazards for firefighters and other people in the vicinity due to the chemical components of the batteries. Smothering the flames is usually the best alternative for extinguishing the fire.
[0003] Mobile protection systems for quarantine and fire control of electric vehicles and electrochemical high-voltage storage systems as well as mobile storage systems have become known from the state of the art.
[0004] Such a system comprises a closed interior and can be formed, for example, by a container or a box. A damaged electric vehicle or a defective high-voltage battery can be pushed into the interior for easy extinguishing. The container or box is equipped with a special extinguishing agent on the walls and floor, as well as the doors and roof. This agent melts under the influence of heat and simultaneously releases cooling water vapor. The melting extinguishing agent fills the interior from the floor upwards, thus smothering the fire. At the same time, the oxygen supply in the closed container or box is limited, which further contributes to extinguishing the flames and the fire.
[0005] The disadvantage here is that burning battery storage units can also release explosive gases. If these gases ignite, they create high overpressure, which can damage the container. Such damage and flying debris can also injure people outside the container.
[0006] It is therefore the object of the present invention to make the above-described protection system or storage system even safer and, in particular, to prevent damage to the system.
[0007] This object is achieved by a pressure relief unit having the features of claim 1 and a mobile protection system or storage system having the features of claim 10. Advantageous further developments are the subject of the subclaims. Further properties and advantages are part of the general description and the description of the exemplary embodiment.A pressure relief unit according to the invention for a mobile protection system for quarantine and fire control of electric vehicles and electrochemical high-voltage storage devices or a mobile storage system with at least one substantially closed interior space comprises at least one frame unit for attachment to the mobile protection system, wherein the frame unit has at least one frame opening for connecting the interior space to the environment and a cover unit arranged on the frame unit, in particular above the frame opening, in order to enable pressure equalization between the, in particular closed, interior space and the environment at least in the event of an explosion-induced overpressure.
[0008] The invention has many advantages. A significant advantage of the invention is that the pressure compensation unit at least allows for the compensation of explosion-induced overpressure. This prevents the resulting overpressure from damaging the container or box and, for example, an electric vehicle inside it during an explosion. This also provides better protection for people outside. At the same time, it prevents additional oxygen from entering the interior, making the overall mobile protection or storage system even safer.
[0009] Preferably, the cover unit is movably mounted on the frame unit by a bearing unit. Advantageously, the cover unit can thereby regulate the overpressure multiple times, particularly reversibly.
[0010] Particularly preferably, the bearing unit comprises at least one linear guide unit, and in particular four linear guide units. Advantageously, the linear guide units enable a smooth linear movement of the lid unit, in particular without tilting. Furthermore, the linear guide allows for a movement of the lid unit due to the overpressure to be calculated more precisely than, for example, with a tiltable lid unit.
[0011] The linear guide unit expediently comprises at least one stud bolt. In particular, the stud bolt is firmly connected to the cover unit. The stud bolt is preferably guided in at least one bearing opening of the frame unit. This advantageously allows the linear guide unit to be implemented particularly cost-effectively.
[0012] Preferably, the lid unit is preloaded into a closed position by at least one spring unit. The spring unit expediently comprises at least one, and in particular four, spring elements. This advantageously prevents additional oxygen from penetrating the interior from the outside, thus improving the conditions for combustion, for example. Furthermore, it prevents flames, for example, from directly escaping to the outside.
[0013] Preferably, at least one spring element is designed as a compression spring, in particular as a spiral spring. Spiral springs are advantageously particularly cost-effective. A spiral spring can preferably be pushed onto a stud bolt, so that it is guided by the stud bolt.
[0014] Preferably, an effective area, and in particular a surface that can withstand the excess pressure in the interior, of the cover unit is dimensioned in such a way, in particular in proportion to a spring force of the spring unit, that the cover unit opens when a limit value for the excess pressure is exceeded. Preferably, a limit pressure can be selected and / or set so that the mobile protection system or storage system is not damaged. Opening pressures of, for example, between 1 mbar and 2 bar excess pressure are possible, preferably excess pressures between 50 mbar and 1 bar, and particularly preferably excess pressures between 200 mbar and 700 mbar. In addition, the opening pressure can also be selected to be even higher. Advantageously, the function of pressure relief in the interior can thus be limited, for example, to an excess pressure that only occurs during explosions, e.g.2 bar overpressure, or the pressure relief can take place even at the smallest overpressures, such as 1 mBar or 20 mBar, so that even a small amount of explosive gases can be released directly into the environment.
[0015] Advantageously, the pressure relief unit is at least partially made of a metallic material, in particular steel. Steel is advantageously cost-effective, heat-resistant, and wear-resistant.
[0016] The frame unit preferably comprises at least one shaped element for forming a welded connection with the mobile protection system or the mobile storage system. Welded connections are advantageously particularly robust, gas-tight, and durable. A welded connection is also particularly cost-effective to produce. Furthermore, it is advantageously durable.
[0017] The mobile protection system or storage system according to the invention for quarantine and fire control of electric vehicles and electrochemical high-voltage storage devices or a mobile storage system comprises at least one interior space enclosed and roofed by solid walls, in particular with at least one door and at least one pressure relief unit as described above.
[0018] The mobile protection system or storage system also has many advantages. A significant advantage is that at least one explosion-like overpressure can be effectively prevented. Further training and advantages are evident throughout the entire application.
[0019] Preferably comprising at least two, four, eight, or even more pressure relief units. Advantageously, this allows the system to be adjusted particularly precisely. Excess pressures can preferably escape in multiple directions. Strong currents within the interior can be avoided.
[0020] Preferably, at least one pressure relief unit is mounted on at least one wall. Mounting the unit on the wall advantageously allows for easy maintenance and functional monitoring. Alternatively, the pressure relief unit can also be mounted on the roof or on the floor.
[0021] Preferably, the solid walls and the roof are formed by at least one container or box. Preferably, a container or box can also include a floor. In particular, the container or box is made of steel, making it particularly stable and robust. Preferably, there is at least one welded joint between the frame unit and the container or box.
[0022] Further features and advantages of embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the drawings. The same reference numerals are used for identical or similar parts and for parts with identical or similar functions. They show: Fig. 1 a purely schematic sectional view through a mobile protection system or storage system according to the invention with a pressure relief unit according to the invention; Fig. 2 a purely schematic perspective view of the mobile protection system or storage system; Fig. 3 a purely schematic perspective view of the pressure relief unit; and Fig. 4 another purely schematic sectional view of the pressure relief unit.
[0023] It is not necessary for a device according to the invention to have all of the features described below. It is also possible for a device according to the invention to have only individual features of the exemplary embodiments described below.
[0024] Fig. Figure 1 shows a purely schematic sectional view through a mobile protection system 100 or storage system 100 according to the invention with a pressure relief unit 1 according to the invention. The system 100 is designed here as a container or box. For the sake of simplicity, the term "container" will be used below. The interior 101 is defined by walls 102, the roof 103, the floor 104, and doors 105. A vehicle 106 is accommodated in the mobile protection system 100. The vehicle 106 is an electric vehicle.
[0025] In the mobile protection system 100, damaged electric vehicles can be safely extinguished or objects such as high-voltage battery storage units can be safely stored. An extinguishing agent is attached to the walls 102 of the interior 101, thus extinguishing a fire in a battery storage unit of the vehicle 106.
[0026] The chemical components of the battery storage system of the vehicle 106 can also trigger explosions, for example, through escaping gases that collect in the interior 101 and then ignite. To prevent damage to the container and thereby increase safety, pressure relief units 1 according to the invention are arranged and welded into the roof 103 of the container to enable pressure equalization between the interior 101 and the environment in the event of an explosion-induced overpressure.
[0027] Fig. 2 shows a purely schematic perspective view of the mobile protection system 100.
[0028] Fig. Figure 3 shows a purely schematic perspective view of the pressure relief unit 1. The pressure relief unit 1 comprises a frame unit 2 with a frame opening 3. The cover unit 4 is arranged above the frame opening 3. The cover unit 4 is movably mounted on the frame unit 2 by the bearing unit 5. The bearing unit 5 comprises four linear guide units 6, so that the cover unit 3 can move linearly relative to the frame unit 2. A linear guide unit 6 comprises a stud bolt 7, which is attached to the cover unit 4 and guided within a bearing opening 8 on the frame unit 2, see Fig. 4.
[0029] Furthermore, a spring unit 9 is provided, which preloads the cover unit 4 into a closed position 10. The spring unit 9 comprises four spring elements 11, which are designed as compression springs 11 and further as spiral springs 11, which are guided by the stud bolts 7 of the linear guide units 5.
[0030] An effective surface 12 of the lid unit 4 is dimensioned such that pressure equalization with the environment occurs at an overpressure of 100 mbar. This effectively prevents the buildup of overpressure in the container, thus further increasing safety.
[0031] The frame unit 2 has a shaped element 13 to which the frame unit 2 can be welded to the container of the protection system 100 or storage system 100, see Fig. 4.
