Description

[0001] So-called Viking chairs or stacking chairs are very popular due to their comfortable seating position, ease of manufacture, and design. The versions of these chairs currently on the market are generally made of wood. While this design provides a certain degree of weather resistance, it is not practical for outdoor use and camping, which require minimal pack size, minimal weight, and weather resistance.

[0002] The present invention uses the construction principle of the stackable chairs / Viking chairs, but instead of wood uses modern, high-performance materials, for example CFRP or other composite materials.

[0003] The usual wooden boards can be replaced either by CFRP plates of a similar shape (but significantly smaller thickness) or by CFRP tubes connected by a modern textile fiber (e.g. parachute silk).

[0004] In panel construction, the seat board can be inserted through the backrest board via a slot, similar to the timber construction. In tubular construction, the seat and backrest levels are connected via a separate connector, for example, another tube of larger diameter with four through holes at the appropriate angle to each other. This tube can also serve to accommodate the thinner tubes for the seat and backrest during transport. Cross-sectional expansions of the thin tubes, which prevent slipping through the connecting element, can be achieved either through compression fittings or lamination.

[0005] The design described above achieves significant weight savings. The ability to disassemble allows for space-saving transport. The invention provides further space savings through folding / disassembly of the panels used and telescoping of the tubes used.

Claims

[1] Seating furniture based on the construction principle of a Viking or stackable chair characterized by that instead of wood, modern composite materials (CFRP etc.) and modern textiles are used in production. [2] Seating furniture according to claim 1, characterized by that composite material panels used to reduce transport dimensions are designed to be foldable or divisible. [3] Seating furniture according to claim 1, characterized by that composite material pipes used to reduce transport dimensions are designed to be telescopic. [4] Seating furniture according to claim 1, characterized by that the pipe serving as a connecting element is designed as a transport container for pipes of smaller diameter and associated textiles. [5] Seating furniture according to claim 1, characterized by that structurally necessary cross-sectional changes of the composite material pipes used are realized by lamination or clamping screws.
