Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a holder for badges designed for detachable fastening to a vehicle window of a vehicle, in particular to a windshield.
[0002] Various stickers are attached to the windshield of a car, each serving a different purpose, in particular the environmental sticker, which indicates the vehicle's emissions class and is necessary to drive in environmental zones.
[0003] In addition, in some countries, such as Austria and Switzerland, a vignette is required to use motorways and expressways. This is also displayed as a sticker on the windshield.
[0004] Removing stickers from the windshield can sometimes be quite difficult. To remove stickers, they are usually heated, for example, with a hairdryer on a low setting. This softens the adhesive and makes removal easier. A ceramic hob scraper or a special sticker scraper can help gently remove the sticker from the windshield. Finally, any remaining adhesive residue must be removed from the windshield, for example, using solvents, nail polish remover, or special label removers.
[0005] Removing the sticker can cause scratches on the windshield, and stubborn adhesive residue may require repeated cleaning with solvents. Excessive temperatures can also damage the windshield.
[0006] DE 2020 040 124 85 U1 discloses a holder for a parking ticket that can be attached to the inside of a vehicle window by means of a suction cup, with at least one pocket for the parking ticket that can be seen from the outside of the vehicle window.
[0007] Furthermore, so-called suction cup signs with suction cup attachment are known from the prior art. These are made of a shatter-resistant, transparent plastic and covered with a printed perforated film. These suction cup signs are used as flexible advertising surfaces on the rear window of the vehicle.
[0008] Based on this prior art, the object of the invention is to provide a holder for badges for detachable attachment to a vehicle window of a vehicle, which can be removed from the vehicle window easily and without leaving residue and without the risk of damage.
[0009] This object is achieved by a holder having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention emerge from the features of the dependent claims.
[0010] In detail, the bracket includes - a round plate-shaped support made of a transparent material, - a first surface of the carrier having an annular edge region and a central circular region surrounded by the edge region, the central region being adapted for applying the plaque, - a second surface of the support facing the windscreen of the vehicle when the bracket is attached, - at least two suction cups attached to the edge region and extending from the second surface towards the vehicle window for releasably attaching the holder to the vehicle window.
[0011] First, the sticker, in particular the environmental sticker or particulate matter sticker, is affixed to the first surface of the carrier in the central circular area.
[0012] The sticker is attached to the windshield using at least two matching suction cups. By positioning the suction cups at the edge of the carrier and limiting their size to approximately the width of the ring-shaped edge, the sticker's visibility is prevented. The use of suction cups offers key advantages: - The suction cups adhere without adhesive, making installation and removal very easy. - The suction cups leave no residue on the surface of the vehicle window, which is particularly useful for temporary applications such as vignettes. - The suction cups can be used multiple times and allow flexible positioning on the vehicle window.
[0013] Having at least three suction cups attached to the edge of the support offers several advantages over two-point support. Three-point support for round supports provides a more stable attachment, as it has three contact points, allowing for more even load distribution. Furthermore, three support points reduce the risk of tipping moments, which is particularly beneficial when attaching to curved surfaces such as a windshield. Finally, three-point support prevents vibrations from the support, which could otherwise cause the support to strike the windshield and thus generate noise.
[0014] Preferably, the at least three suction cups are arranged over a circumferential angle of 180° and the angular distance between the suction cups is the same.
[0015] When the mount is attached, one of the three suction cups is preferably positioned at the 12 o'clock position. The other two suction cups are positioned clockwise and counterclockwise, each offset by 90° from the upper suction cup.
[0016] A simple way to attach suction cups to the edge region of the carrier is for the suction cups to have a neck extending from the cup-shaped element and a head, wherein the head diameter is larger than the neck diameter, and passages for attaching the suction cups are arranged in the edge region of the carrier. The diameter of each passage is adapted to the neck diameter of the suction cup, and the head of the suction cup rests against the first surface of the edge region. Starting from the second surface, the suction cups are guided through the opening with the arrow-shaped head first until the head rests against the first surface.
[0017] To ensure that the sticker affixed to the central area of the first surface is visible on the second surface, the carrier must be made of a transparent material. The following transparent materials are possible: glass, polymer thylacylate, polycarbonate, or polyethylene terephthalate. However, preference should be given to plastic materials, especially polymer thylacylate, known as Plexiglas.
[0018] A particulate matter sticker is circular and has a diameter of 80 millimeters. On the front, which is visible from the outside, you can see the emission level—for example, the 4 for the green environmental sticker—accompanied by an environmental zone sign. Below this is a white field in which the vehicle's license plate number is entered. Due to the primary purpose of the holder, which is to make the adhesive front of the environmental sticker visible through the windshield, the carrier has a diameter of 90-120 mm, preferably 100 mm.
[0019] The diameter of the passages in the edge area for receiving the suction cups with arrow-shaped heads is preferably between 3 - 5 mm, preferably 4.2 mm.
[0020] The diameter of the central circular area is at least 80 mm to allow the plaque to be attached without obstructing the view through the suction cups.
[0021] The mounting bracket according to the invention also complies with the legal requirements for attaching the environmental sticker. Accordingly, it is only necessary to attach the environmental sticker visibly from the inside in the lower right-hand section of the windshield. Care must be taken to ensure that the environmental sticker is not obscured by windshield wipers or a tinted wedge of the windshield.
[0022] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Fig. 1 a representation of a holder attached to a windscreen of a motor vehicle with three suction cups and Fig. 2 a support of the bracket according to Fig. 1, but without suction cups.
[0023] Fig. 1 shows a holder 1 for a badge 2 for detachable attachment to a vehicle window 3 of a vehicle.
[0024] The holder 1 comprises a round plate-shaped support 4 made of a transparent material.
[0025] A first surface of the carrier is provided with an annular edge region 4.1 and a central circular region 4.2 surrounded by the edge region 4.1, which in the illustrated embodiment has a diameter of 80 mm, corresponding to the diameter of the environmental sticker affixed in this region with the printed front side.
[0026] The second surface, opposite the first surface, faces the windshield of the vehicle.
[0027] In the edge region 4.1 of the carrier 4, three suction cups 5 are arranged, extending from the second surface toward the windshield, for releasably attaching the device to the vehicle windshield. The three suction cups 5 are arranged over a circumferential angle of 180° with an angular spacing of 90°.
[0028] The suction cups 5 have a neck extending from the cup-shaped element 5.1 and a head, wherein the head diameter is larger than the neck diameter.
[0029] As from Fig. 2, passages 6 for fastening the suction cups 5 are arranged in the edge region 4.2 of the carrier, wherein the diameter of each passage 6 is adapted to the neck diameter of the suction cup 5 and the head of the suction cup 5 rests against the first surface in the edge region 4.1.
[0030] Further is from Fig. 2 that the carrier 4 has a diameter of 100 mm and the diameter of each passage 6 in the embodiment is 4.2 mm.
[0031] In the fixed position of the bracket 1, as shown in the Fig. 1 and Fig.As shown in Figure 2, the central passage 6 for receiving a suction cup 5 is located at the 12 o'clock position. The two additional suction cups 5 are arranged clockwise and counterclockwise, each offset by 90° from the upper suction cup 5.
