Anti-allergy comb

Abstract

Anti-allergy comb for applying cosmetics to hair, wiping off excess cosmetics from the hair and minimizing contact of cosmetics with the scalp, characterized in that a trough-shaped reservoir for holding cosmetics is formed at the ends of teeth of a comb.

[0001] Hair dyes and other cosmetics can cause severe allergic reactions, such as itching, burning, red bumps, or worse. Manufacturers therefore expressly recommend conducting an allergy test 48 hours before using potentially harmful substances such as hair dyes or hair tints, even if the substances have been used previously. Failure to observe an allergy warning can be life-threatening. If allergic reactions occur, consult a doctor immediately and discontinue use of the product under any circumstances.

[0002] Typically, cosmetics such as hair dye, hair tint, or similar products are massaged into the hair with the fingers. This manual massage also results in skin contact. To reduce or even prevent contact of the cosmetics with the skin, a specially shaped comb—hereafter referred to as an anti-allergy comb—should be used to separate the cosmetics from the scalp.

[0003] When used properly, the anti-allergy comb can minimize or even prevent the contact of hair cosmetics such as hair tint or hair color with the scalp, thus reducing unsightly discoloration of the skin and thus also the risk of an allergic reaction.

[0004] This object is achieved with the invention described in the claims in such a way that the anti-allergy comb is inserted between the hair to be treated and the scalp. For hair treatment, a trough-like reservoir for cosmetics is formed on the comb, onto which the cosmetics can be worked into the hair. A limiting bulge around the reservoir is advantageous, which prevents the cosmetics from running over the edge. During use, the teeth of the anti-allergy comb, on the one hand, guide the hair to the reservoir containing the cosmetics, and on the other hand, the teeth and the front edge of the reservoir scrape off excess cosmetics during combing. For this purpose, the teeth of the anti-allergy comb and the front edge of the reservoir are shaped like scrapers.This is preferably achieved by a pointed edge on the reservoir and the teeth of the comb, as well as a trapezoidal or arched shape of the teeth, or even with a special wiping lip. For optimal adaptation to the shape of the head, the ends of the teeth on the anti-allergy comb are curved on the front to match the contours of the head. The trough-shaped reservoir and the special shape of the teeth as wiping lips mirror the design for right- and left-handed users.

[0007] In the Fig. Figure 1 shows the basic design of an anti-allergy comb with a trough-shaped reservoir (1) with a bordering ridge (2) and an arched arrangement of the tooth ends (3). This design is advantageous for right-handed people and is symbolized by an R (4).

[0008] The Fig. 2 shows a lateral section through the reservoir (5) with a pointed edge (6) shaped as a scraper and a limiting circumferential bead (7) as well as teeth (8) running into the reservoir.

Claims

[1] Anti-allergy comb for applying cosmetics to hair, wiping off excess cosmetics from the hair and minimizing the contact of cosmetics with the scalp, characterized in that a trough-shaped reservoir for receiving cosmetics is formed at the ends of teeth of a comb. [2] Anti-allergy comb according to claim 1 characterized by that the reservoir is bordered on at least one side by a raised bulge. [3] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized by that the teeth leak into the reservoir. [4] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized by that the reservoir on the side with the teeth is scoop-shaped with a pointed edge as a scraper. [5] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized bythat the teeth are each formed with a tapered cross-section towards the top of the reservoir. [6] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized by that the teeth on the underside are designed with a pointed scraping edge. [7] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized by that the ends of the teeth form an arched shape. [8] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized by that a mirrored design is created especially for left-handed people. [9] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized by that a corresponding symbol is designed on the handle to distinguish between right- and left-handed people. [10] Anti-allergy comb according to one or more of the preceding claims characterized bythat the upper and lower sides are mirror-symmetrical to each other, with the teeth tapering in cross-section towards the upper and lower sides, thus creating a central scraping edge on the teeth and on the reservoir.
