Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to an awning which has a bearing axis which is rotatably mounted by means of a drive device between two laterally spaced-apart, subject-fixed mounting elements and onto which the awning covering is wound, wherein the two mounting elements are connected by means of connecting elements to an awning front element which is oriented parallel to the bearing axis and to which the front edge of the awning covering is fastened, wherein on at least one side of the awning there is provided a side awning which is variable in its longitudinal extent and an elongate, flexible support element for the side awning which is mechanically tensioned by means of a tensioning device, wherein the support element extends from a subject-fixed side element to the corresponding lateral end section of the awning front element.
[0002] Such an awning is known from DE 20 2024 001 779 U1. In this known awning, the side awning can be designed as a slatted curtain or a pleated curtain and can be attached to the elongated, flexible support element in a fixed, i.e., stationary, or displaceable manner. The tensioning device for the support element can comprise a spring device provided on the fixed side member of the awning.
[0003] DE 20 2025 000 197 U1 discloses an awning of the type mentioned above, wherein the fixed side member of the side awning has a deflection member around which the elongated, flexible support element is deflected with its proximal end section, and a travel reduction device is assigned to the end section. The travel reduction device can be designed as a pulley with a stationary roller and an adjustable roller, or as a gear drive with a small drive gear and a large driven gear meshing therewith.
[0004] DE 20 2025 000 342 U1 describes an awning of the type mentioned above, in which the side awning consists of two square side partial awnings, each having a lower edge, an upper edge, a vertical front edge and a vertical rear edge parallel thereto, wherein fastening elements are provided at a distance from one another on the upper edge of each partial awning for temporarily fastening the side partial awnings to the mechanically tensioned, elongated, flexible support element.
[0005] The invention is based on the object of creating an awning of the type mentioned at the outset, wherein the side awning is accommodated in a space-saving manner in the fixed side member when the awning is in its non-use state.
[0006] This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1, i.e. in that the subject-fixed side member has a cylindrical bearing coil for the side awning, wherein the proximal, rear end edge of the side awning is fastened to the cylindrical bearing coil.
[0007] When not in use, the side awning is wound onto the cylindrical bearing spool and automatically unwound from it when the awning is adjusted to an active shading position. For this purpose, the distal end edge of the side awning is attached to the lateral end section of the awning front element.
[0008] According to the invention, it is possible for the bearing spool for the side awning and the bearing axle for the awning fabric to be rotationally connected to one another. With such an awning design, the side awning is automatically moved with the main awning into the desired shading position and from there back to the rest position of the main awning. The rotational connection of the bearing axle of the main awning with the bearing spool for the side awning can be realized in such a way that a drive bevel gear is attached to the bearing axle for the awning fabric, which meshes with an output bevel gear, and the output bevel gear is operatively connected to the bearing spool for the side awning by means of a parallel-axis gear pair.
[0009] Instead of such a mechanical rotary connection by means of a gear transmission with bevel gears and a normal gear pair, it is of course also possible to drive the bearing axle by means of a first electric motor and the bearing coil for the side awning by means of a second electric motor and to control the two electric motors by means of a control device.
[0010] In order to move the side awning simultaneously with the main awning in an awning according to the invention, in which the bearing coil for the side awning and the bearing axis for the awning fabric are rotationally connected to one another, it is preferred if the side awning has a fastening element in the corner area delimited by its upper longitudinal edge and the front end edge, which fastening element can be fixed to the lateral end section of the awning front element.
[0011] Another possibility according to the invention is that the side awning has a fastening element in the corner area delimited by its upper longitudinal edge and the front end edge, which fastening element is detachable from the lateral end section of the awning front element and attachable to the elongated movable support element fastened to the lateral end section of the awning front element, and that the bearing spool for the side awning has a spool drive device provided for rolling up the side awning. With such a design, the side awning is automatically moved together with the main awning from the rest position to any desired shading position. However, if the main awning is moved back from the shading position to the rest position, it is necessary to detach the fastening element provided in the corner area of the side awning from the lateral end section of the awning front element and attach it to the elongated flexible support element and wind the side awning onto the bearing spool using the spool drive device.
[0012] The side awning and the covering of the main awning are preferably made of the same material, which can be a weatherproof textile material.
[0013] Further details, features and advantages will become apparent from the following description in conjunction with the attached drawings.
[0014] They show: Fig. 1 a schematic representation of the awning in a plan view, Fig. 2 a schematic sectional representation of essential details of an embodiment of the awning, in which the bearing coil for the side awning and the bearing axis for the awning fabric are rotationally connected to each other, and Fig. 3 in one of the Fig. 2 similar basic section-by-section representation of an embodiment of the awning in which the bearing axis for the awning cover and the bearing coil for the side awning are not rotationally connected to each other.
[0015] Fig. Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the awning 10, which has a rotatably mounted bearing shaft 14 between two laterally spaced, subject-fixed mounting members 12. The bearing shaft 14 is rotatable by means of a drive device 16, indicated by an arrow. The drive device 16 can be a manual or electric motor drive device.
[0016] An awning cover 18 is wound onto the bearing axis 14. The two mounting elements 12 are connected by connecting elements 20 to an awning front element 22 oriented parallel to the bearing axis 14. The connecting elements 20 are toggle levers. The front edge of the awning cover 18 is attached to the awning front element.
[0017] In order to not only shade the ground area beneath the stretched awning fabric 18, but also to achieve the desired lateral shading, a side awning 26, whose length can be adjusted, is provided on at least one side of the awning 10 and is attached to an elongated, flexible support element 28. The elongated support element 28 can be a rope, a strap, or the like.
[0018] The elongate support element 28 extends from a subject-fixed side member 30 to the corresponding lateral end section 32 of the awning front element 22. With the aid of a tensioning device 34, which is provided in the subject-fixed side member 32 of the side awning 26, the elongate flexible support element 28 is mechanically tensioned in each extended position of the awning 10, so that undesirable sagging of the elongate support element 28 is avoided.
[0019] The side awning 26 is attached to the mechanically tensioned, elongated support element 28. The distance of the distal side edge 36 of the side awning 26 always corresponds to the distance of the awning front element 22 of the awning 10 from the fixed bearing axis 14.
[0020] Fig. 2 schematically illustrates, in sections, essential details of an embodiment of the awning 10, wherein the subject-fixed side member 30 has a cylindrical bearing spool 38 for the side awning 26. The proximal rear end edge 40 of the side awning 26 is attached to the cylindrical bearing spool 38. The distal front edge 36 of the side awning 26 is attached to the lateral end section 32 of the awning front element 22 of the awning 10.
[0021] The bearing spool 38 for the side awning 26 and the bearing axle 14 for the awning fabric 18 are rotationally connected to each other. For this purpose, a drive bevel gear 42 is attached to the bearing axle 14 of the awning 10, which meshes with an output bevel gear 44. The output bevel gear 44 is operatively connected to the bearing spool 38 for the side awning 26 by means of a parallel-axis gear pair 46, 48. The gear 46 is connected to the output bevel gear 44 by means of a shaft 50. The gear 48 is connected to the cylindrical bearing spool 38 by means of a shaft 52. The shaft 50 is rotatably mounted in the subject-fixed side member 30 by means of a bearing device 54 and the shaft 52 is rotatably mounted in the side member 30 by means of a bearing device 56.
[0022] The reference number 28 designates the elongated flexible support element which is attached with its distal end 58 to the lateral end section 32 of the awning front element 22.
[0023] Fig. 3 illustrates in one of the Fig. 2 shows a section of an embodiment of essential details of the awning 10, in which the same details are identified by the same reference numerals as in the Fig. 1 and Fig.2. In this embodiment of the awning 10, the side awning 26 has a fastening element 64 at its corner region 62 delimited by the upper longitudinal edge 60 and the front distal end edge 36, which can be temporarily secured to the lateral end section 32 of the awning front element 22. If the awning covering of the awning 10 is adjusted from its rest position to a desired shading position, i.e., unrolled from the bearing axis 14, the side awning 26, which is temporarily secured to the lateral end section 32 of the awning front element 22 by means of the fastening element 64, is taken along with the awning covering 18 into the lateral shading position. If the awning 10 is moved back to its rest position, the fastening element 64 is first detached from the lateral end section 32 of the awning front element 22 and attached to the mechanically tensioned, elongated, flexible support element 28, and the side awning 26 is wound onto the bearing spool 38 with the aid of a drive device 66 of the cylindrical bearing spool 38. The awning fabric 18 can then be wound onto the bearing shaft 14 of the awning 10.
[0024] In order to mechanically tension the elongated, flexible support element 28 in each extended position of the awning 10, a tensioning device 34 is provided in the fixed side member 30. Embodiments of such a tensioning device 34 are described in DE 20 2025 000 197 U1 cited above.
