Abstract

Sealing arrangement for sealing a vacuum side (6) from an ambient side (7), with a ferrofluid seal (4) between a rotatable shaft (2) and a housing (3), characterized in that the sealing arrangement (1) between the ferrofluid seal (4) and the vacuum side (6) has a switchable additional seal (5) which can be switched between an out-of-service position without sealing function and a sealing position in which the shaft (2) is sealed to the vacuum side (6) via the additional seal (5).
