Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for deburring edges, for example edges on drill holes in workpieces.

[0002] Devices of this type known from the state of the art cannot be used efficiently if the edges to be deburred are difficult to access due to the geometry of the workpiece or if so-called internal deburring is required.

[0003] The object of the present invention is to eliminate this deficiency.

[0004] According to the invention, the object is achieved by the technical means set forth in claim 1. The objects according to one or more of claims 2 to 4 disclose embodiments or refinements of the invention.

[0005] The invention is explained below using a schematically illustrated embodiment. The accompanying drawings show: Fig. 1 shows a perspective top view of a device 1 according to the invention for deburring the edge 2 on the cylindrical borehole 3 of a workpiece 4, Fig. 2 a perspective top view of the device 1 from Fig. 1 in a different direction, and in Fig. 3 a perspective bottom view of the device 1 from Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.

[0006] From the perspective view in Fig. 1 shows a device 1 for deburring the edge 2 at the borehole 3 of a workpiece 4, comprising a deburring tool 5, a holding element 6 on which the deburring tool 5 is mounted rotatably about a rotation axis 7, a feed unit 8 and a drive shaft 9.

[0007] The deburring tool 5 can be designed, for example, as a conical grinding wheel or a diamond brush, preferably also conical, or as a conical cutting wheel having one or more cutting edges. The holding element 6 consists of a leaf spring in the form of a spring steel tongue, which projects into the workpiece 4 with one end that supports the deburring tool 5 and is bendable in the axial direction A, and is attached to the feed unit 8 with the other end.

[0008] The feed unit 8 is constructed in two parts. Both parts 8.1 and 8.2 can be moved together perpendicular to the rotation axis 7 by means of a linear guide 10. Part 8.1, together with the holding element 6 and deburring tool 5, can be moved against part 8.2 and thus parallel to the rotation axis 7 by means of a linear guide 11.

[0009] The rotation axis 7 of the deburring tool 5, the axis of the borehole 3 and the rotation axis of the drive shaft 9 are aligned.

[0010] The drive shaft 9 is mounted displaceably in the axial direction A and has means for transmitting torque to the deburring tool 5. The torque transmission preferably takes place in a form-fitting manner, e.g., by means of a tooth or claw coupling 12 communicating with the deburring tool 5.

[0011] When operating the device, the workpiece 4 and the device 1 are first brought into the positions shown here, in which the deburring tool 5 is located centrally above the borehole 3 located inside the workpiece 4.

[0012] The drive shaft 9 is then set in rotation and lowered in axial direction A through the opening 13 in the workpiece 4 toward the deburring tool 5, where it is connected in a rotationally fixed manner by a toothed or claw coupling 12. Alternatively, depending on the specific design of the torque transmission means, the rotationally fixed connection between the drive shaft 9 and the deburring tool 5 can also be established first, and then the rotation of the drive shaft 9 can be initiated.

[0013] With the further lowering of the drive shaft 9 after the coupling, the spring steel tongue serving as a holding element 6 acts as a force-absorbing lever, the pivot point of which is defined by the feed unit 8, the rotating deburring tool 5 comes into contact with the edge 2 and the deburring is carried out.

[0014] Once a technologically specified feed rate has been reached, deburring is stopped and the drive shaft 9 is retracted in the axial direction A. Due to the spring force stored in the holding element 6, the deburring tool 5 follows to its Fig. Starting position shown in 1.

[0015] The inventive concept expressly includes design variants which are equipped with means for the automatic feeding and positioning of workpieces 4 relative to the device 1 or to the deburring tool 5 located on the device 1.
