Description

[0001] The invention relates to an application device in a water basin according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] It is well known that water therapies are used in health resorts and rehabilitation centers to promote the healing process in patients. These therapies often involve the use of aids that provide support for the patients in the water. Under supervision, patients perform exercises in the water, for example, using the aids for support.

[0003] The invention is based on the objective of creating an application device for use in a water basin using simple design measures, which can be used in a variety of ways.

[0004] This problem is solved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. The dependent claims specify advantageous further developments.

[0005] The application device according to the invention can be used in a water basin and serves to accommodate a person performing gymnastic, athletic, physiotherapeutic, or other physical exercises. The application device enables both therapeutic treatments and exercises for physical fitness without a direct therapeutic purpose. Thus, the application device is generally suitable for the treatment and exercise of the body.

[0006] The application device forms a self-contained, self-contained unit that can preferably be inserted into the water basin without a fixed connection to it. The advantage lies in the fact that the application device can be manufactured outside the basin and then inserted into it.

It is not necessary to change the basic structure of the application device; rather, it is sufficient to integrate an operating unit adapted to the desired use into the application device, enabling or supporting physical activity for the treatment or rehabilitation of the patient.

[0008] The application device has a base frame composed of vertical and horizontal tubes. This base frame encloses a movement and work area for the person using the device. Horizontal tubes at the top form lateral handrails to support the person.

[0009] The base frame is placed on the bottom of the water basin and serves to hold a person securely within it. In particular, people with limited mobility can move around safely within the base frame and support themselves on the upper handrails.

[0010] An actuation unit can be inserted into the base frame, preferably in a replaceable manner. Alternatively, the actuation unit can be permanently integrated into the base frame. The actuation unit allows for customization of the device and enables various applications. For example, the actuation unit can be configured as a treadmill, a trampoline, a rowing machine, a resistance trainer, or a pedal trainer. Accordingly, different parts of the patient's body and muscle groups can be trained within the device.

The treadmill and trampoline are mounted close to the floor within the base frame. The pedal trainer and the resistance trainer, where a board is moved against resistance using the legs, are also located close to the floor. The treadmill and pedal trainer may optionally be equipped with additional hand grips that extend upwards and are either fixed or movable. The rowing unit is preferably integrated into the base frame at a higher position to ensure that, despite the seated position during rowing, the user's head remains significantly above the waterline.

The mat is preferably not rigidly attached to the base frame, but is fixed to the bottom of the water basin by the weight of the application device. This ensures, in particular, that water currents, triggered by water jets of a counter-current system, do not cause the mat to lift from the bottom of the water basin.

[0018] In the Fig. 1 and Fig. Figure 2 shows a water basin 1, which is used particularly for medical applications. In a water area 2 of the water basin 1, several application devices 3 are arranged side by side. These devices are designed in different ways and are used, for example, for physiotherapy purposes. Examples include a rowing machine, a pedal trainer, a treadmill, a resistance trainer, and a trampoline. A long handrail 4 is located on one long side of the water area 2, on the inside of the water basin. On the opposite long side, a short handrail 5 is positioned on the inside of the water area 2, corresponding to each application device 3. Each application device 3 is associated with a water or massage jet 6, the function of which can be adjusted via a control panel 7.The massage jets 6 make it possible to perform a specific physical activity on the relevant application device 3 in countercurrent motion.

[0019] Ground-level access to water area 2 of water basin 1 is provided via an access device 8, which is located on one narrow side of water basin 1. The access device 8 comprises an access carousel 9 with a rotatably mounted base plate 10 and two cross-shaped partitions 11 and 12, which are located on the base plate 10 and together form a turnstile. The partitions 11 and 12 divide the area on the base plate 10 into a total of four passenger compartments 13, 14, 15, and 16, through which one person can enter and, conversely, exit water area 2. Entry and exit are thus at ground level. Each passenger compartment 13, 14, 15, 16 extends over an angle segment of 90°.

[0020] Access to the access device 8 is via an external entry area 17, and exit from the access device 8 into water area 2 is via an exit area 18, which is diametrically opposite entry area 17. Due to the rotatability of the access carousel 9, each passenger compartment 13 to 16 can be rotated between entry area 17 and exit area 18.
