The present disclosure relates to atomizers for an aerosol delivery device such as a smoking article. The atomizer may include a liquid transport element and a wire continuously extending along a longitudinal length thereof. The wire may define end portions, contact portions, and a heating portion. The wire may be continuously wound about the liquid transport element such that each of the portions of the wire defines coils. A related input, cartridge, and method of forming atomizers also provided.

The present disclosure relates to an input for production of atomizers and atomizers formed from a sheet of a material, and which may be employed in an aerosol delivery device such as a smoking article. The input may include a carrier and heating elements coupled thereto. The heating elements may include first and second ends and interconnected alternating loops disposed therebetween. The heating elements may be oriented parallel to a longitudinal axis of the carrier, or perpendicular thereto. The heating elements may be coupled to a liquid transport element by bending the interconnected loops at least partially around the liquid transport element. The ends of the heating element may be coupled to heater terminals. A related method for forming atomizers is also provided.

A liquid material vaporization apparatus for a semiconductor processing apparatus includes: a vaporization tank; an inner partition wall disposed in the tank for dividing the interior of the tank into a charging compartment and a vaporization compartment which are liquid-communicatable with each other over an upper edge of the inner partition wall. A liquid material charged in the charging compartment overflows over the upper edge of the inner partition wall toward the vaporization compartment to store and vaporize the liquid material in the vaporization compartment.

In a semiconductor laser having an active layer of double-quantum-well structure that includes two InGaN well layers each of which has a thickness of 5 nm, a threshold current deteriorates to a relatively small degree while differential efficiency is improved considerably in a region having a light confinement coefficient Γ of 3.0% or less. On the other hand, with the light confinement coefficient Γ becoming less than 1.5%, the threshold current increases considerably while the amount of improvement in differential efficiency becomes small. It is therefore preferable that the lowest limit to the light confinement coefficient Γ be about 1.5%. The differential efficiency of 1.6 W/A or more is obtained with the light confinement coefficient Γ being 3.0% or less, and the differential efficiency of 1.7 W/A or more is obtained with the light confinement coefficient Γ being 2.6% or less.

The present disclosure relates to atomizers for an aerosol delivery device such as a smoking article. The atomizer may include a liquid transport element and a wire extending along at least a portion of a longitudinal length thereof. The wire may define contact portions configured to engage heater terminals and a heating portion configured to produce heat. The heating portion may include a variable coil spacing. In other atomizers, the wire may extend at least partially through the liquid transport element proximate the contact portions. A portable atomizing apparatus according to the present invention includes a battery case, an atomizing device, a body case, a control unit, and a suction adjustment. The battery case receives a battery, and the atomizing device includes a heating member electrically connected to the battery for generating heat to atomize a source material. The body case is connected between the battery case and the atomizing device. Besides, the control unit is mounted inside the body case, electrically connected to the battery and to the heating member, so that the control unit receives an electrical power from the battery to control the output signal delivered to the heating member. Also, the suction adjustment opens or closes an air inlet of the atomizing apparatus so as to adjust the amount of air entering the atomizing apparatus.

The present invention generally provides methods and devices that allow more efficient delivery of a stimulus, such as optical radiation, to the skin. In many embodiments, negative and/or positive pressure is applied to one or more skin regions in order to maintain a skin target under tension so as to redistribute blood volume between the skin target and other skin segments. In many cases, such tension can cause a depletion of the volumetric blood content in the skin target (that is, in the blood vessels beneath a surface of the skin target), thereby facilitating delivery of radiation to the skin target.

The electronic cigarette atomizer comprises a plurality of atomizing assemblies, and each atomizing assembly includes at least one heating wire and defines a smoke channel configured to discharge smoke. The atomizing assemblies are all coaxial and thereby form a string, and the smoke channels of every two adjacent atomizing assemblies communicate with each other. The present disclosure relates to aerosol delivery devices. The aerosol delivery devices include mechanisms configured to deliver an aerosol precursor composition from a reservoir to an atomizer including a heating element to produce a vapor. An actuator may displace a rod to dispense the aerosol precursor composition to the atomizer. Thereby, the rod may move a piston in a pump housing to dispense the aerosol precursor composition. The atomizer may define a chamber in which the heating element is positioned and at which the aerosol precursor composition is vaporized.

In a convective system that includes a blower to thermally treat and pressurize air, a convective device to receive and convect the thermally-treated pressurized air, and an air hose to conduct a flow of thermally-treated pressurized air from the blower to an inlet port in the convective device, an interface device is provided to control the flow of air at the interface where the inlet port and an end of the air hose operate to conduct the flow of air out of the air hose into the convective device. A light therapy device (40) for delivering light energy to treat medical conditions in tissues (200) includes a light source (300) with one or more light emitters, which provides input light (305). A light coupling means comprised of one or more optical fibers (310) for coupling the input light into a bandage portion (100) comprising a flexible optical substrate (50). A light extraction means (30) directs a portion of the input light out of the bandage and towards one or more localized areas of the tissues. A semi-permeable transparent membrane (400), attached directly or indirectly to the substrate, controls a flow of moisture and moisture vapor to and from the tissues. The reflective optical element can be a continuous annular mirror (e.g. smooth or with multiple facets) to image the entire trabecular meshwork, or a reflective optical element that moves in coordination with the deflection of the beam. Visualization of the alignment and therapeutic patterns of light on the eye can be implemented by reflection thereof off a visualization mirror that transmits a portion of light emanating from the trabecular meshwork.

An improved spa control system is disclosed. The invention describes a spa control system which calculates the time required to heat the water in the spa system to a desired temperature. From that information, the heating rate of the spa system can be determined, and the heating element of the spa system can be activated at the proper time to raise the temperature of the water to a selected temperature by a desired time. The spa system also monitors information which might show errors in the operation of the spa system such as a blockage in the flow of water over the heating element in the spa system.

A vaporizing reservoir including a containment vessel having a first shaft port exposed to ambient and one or more sidewalls defining a body portion having an interior cavity and a vaporizing portion communicated to the interior cavity; an inductive coil disposed within the vaporizing portion, the inductive coil electrically disconnected outside of the containment vessel and configured for inductive heating; and an air shaft communicated to the vaporizing portion and extending to the first shaft port. An exterior inductive coil heats the inductive coil within the vaporizing portion and vaporizes the material communicated to the interior inductive coil. Vapor from the heated interior inductive coil is extracted through the air shaft.
