3364 results about "Bathtub" patented technology

A bathtub, bath, or tub (informal) is a large or small container for holding water in which a person or animal may bathe. Most modern bathtubs are made of thermoformed acrylic, porcelain enameled steel, fiberglass-reinforced polyester, or porcelain enameled cast iron. A bathtub is usually placed in a bathroom either as a stand-alone fixture or in conjunction with a shower.

Tub for humidifier

A humidifier includes a tub. The tub includes a base plate; a tub base; a seal between the base plate and the tub base; and a latch mechanism that connects the base plate to the tub base so that the base plate is engaged with the seal. The latch mechanism may include an overcenter latch pivotably attached to the tub base and latch tabs formed on the base plate, the overcenter latch engaging the latch tabs in the connected position to connect the base plate to the tub base. The latch mechanism may alternatively include resilient tabs on the tub base, the resilient tabs elastically biasing the base plate toward the tub base upon connection of the base plate to the tub base. The resilient tabs may include tamper evident projections that indicate that the base plate has been disconnected from the tub base. The base plate may be stainless steel and be formed by stamping. The base plate may include a stamped ring. The humidifier further includes a tub lid configured to cover the tub to form a water container. A cradle receives the water container. A hinged lid on the cradle is pivotable between an open position permitting insertion of the water container into the cradle and a closed position covering the inserted water container. A heating element contacts the base plate when the water container is inserted into the cradle. The humidifier is connectable to a flow generator of a CPAP device.

Furcation tubing and fanout furcation kit

ActiveUS20080138026A1Reduced longitudinal shrinkageIncreased tensile bond strengthCoupling light guidesOptical light guidesFiberUltrasound attenuation
Furcation tubing is made of glass-filled Teflon (PTFE) that provides reduced longitudinal shrinkage and increased tensile bond strength in the standard colors utilized for fiber identification. The furcation tubing experiences no more longitudinal shrinkage than furcation tubing made of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and has a tensile bond strength no less than furcation tubing made of clear, etched Teflon (PTFE). A fanout furcation kit prevents movement of the separated optical fibers in a funnel area of a lower furcation body. The funnel area is bathtub shaped with an increasing depth in the direction of an insert block having at least two rows of passageways in a staggered array. Guide walls defining the funnel area form a seal with an upper furcation body. Use of the furcation tubing and fanout furcation kit significantly reduces unacceptable attenuation and micro-damage to optical fibers deployed in an outdoor fiber optic network.

An improved water heater for use in spas, hot tubs, pools, hydrotherapy pools, bath tubs, and similar bodies of water used indoors, outdoors, or both indoors and outdoors are used for both therapeutic and recreational purposes. The water heater uses heating element technology know as thick film on substrate comprising resistive elements bonded to the outer dry surface of a pipe to heat the pipe which in turn heats the water flowing therethrough. The heater is highly efficient due to the direct contact of the wet heating surface with the water and provides a smooth seamless inner heating surface by eliminating the need to pass electrical leads into the wet region of the heater. This virtually eliminates the risk of leaks in the water heater due to bulkhead fittings. The invention further eliminates the need for a heating element to be contained in the inner wet region of a spa heater, thereby reducing the risk of corrosion. The water heater is used in combination with an electronic controller having a microprocessor to control and regulate the operation of the water heater. The water heater can be used with electrical, electro-mechanical, and mechanical control systems for spas and can be retrofitted into existing spa applications.

Non-contact measurement method of key physiological parameters

The invention relates to a method for measuring key physiological parameters in noncontact manner, such as blood pressure and its change rate, electrocardiogram, blood oxygen saturation, respiratory frequency, and heart rate and its change rate. The key physiological parameters can be measured by analyzing plethysmographic signals and bioelectric signals collected by a sensor or a probe without contacting human body. The device adopted in the method has wider application scope than the conventional contact measurements, can be applied in particular environments such as mobile ambulance or battle field treatment, and can also be integrated in auxiliary facilities such as bathtub, bed and coach in everyday life. The device has the advantages of simple and easy operation, no affect to users' activities during measurements of physiological parameters, and no requirement of active intervention of users, and can provide safe, economical and practical, nondestructive real time continuous monitoring of physiological parameters for users.
