Description
[0001] The disclosure relates to cosmetic agents for the treatment of a keratinous material, wherein the agent comprises an organic silicon compound and at least one copolymer which is composed at least of the monomer units N-tert-octylacrylamide, acrylic acid and tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate, as well as the use of the cosmetic agent.
[0002] External stress on hair from chemical substances of numerous different sources presents challenges for the development of cosmetic products. Air and water pollution have a detrimental effect on skin and hair. Among the most important air pollutants are polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, volatile organic compounds, nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter, and cigarette smoke. The effects of various air pollutants can be intensified in the presence of other air pollutants and under the influence of UV radiation or heat.
[0003] It is known that the toxicity of gaseous air pollutants, such as sulfur dioxide, ozone, and nitrogen oxides, is primarily linked to their activity as initiators of free radicals, which cause damage to living organisms. Free radicals are metabolic byproducts that also occur naturally in the body. In large quantities, free radicals can promote irritation and inflammation and accelerate the aging process. This is known as "oxidative damage." Free radicals can also damage hair, which can manifest as a reduction in shine and manageability, and / or fading of hair color. Exposure to heat naturally exacerbates the damage caused by pollutants.
[0004] Customer wishes extend beyond simply the appearance of the hair itself. The requirements for cosmetic hair products are more diverse. Cosmetic products that provide permanent or temporary styling also play a crucial role in the cosmetics industry. These products should enable temporary styling with good hold. Developing cosmetic products that offer both good hold and protection against damage from pollutants presents a significant challenge.
[0005] The prior art describes organosilicon compounds from the silane group, which comprise at least one hydroxyl group and / or a hydrolyzable group. Due to the presence of these hydroxyl and / or hydrolyzable groups, silanes are reactive substances that hydrolyze, oligomerize, or polymerize in the presence of water. When applied to a keratinous material, the oligomerization or polymerization of silanes initiated by the presence of water ultimately leads to the formation of a film that can provide a protective effect.
[0006] The object underlying the present invention is to provide a cosmetic product that enables good shaping of the hair and improves structural protection against heat exposure.
[0007] This problem is solved by a cosmetic agent for treating a keratinous material according to claim 1.
[0008] Keratinous materials include hair, skin, and nails (such as fingernails and / or toenails). Wool, fur, and feathers also fall under the definition of keratinous materials.
[0009] The term "keratinous material" preferably refers to human hair, human skin, and human nails, especially fingernails and toenails. Most preferably, the term "keratinous material" refers to human hair, especially head and / or beard hair.
[0010] As the first essential component of the disclosure, the cosmetic agent for treating a keratinous material contains at least one organic silicon compound. Preferred organic silicon compounds are selected from silanes having one, two, or three silicon atoms, wherein the organic silicon compound comprises one or more hydroxyl groups and / or hydrolyzable groups per molecule.
[0011] Organic silicon compounds, also known as organosilicon compounds, are compounds that either have a direct silicon-carbon bond (Si-C) or in which the carbon is linked to the silicon atom via an oxygen, nitrogen, or sulfur atom. These organic silicon compounds contain one to three silicon atoms. Particularly preferably, the organic silicon compounds contain one or two silicon atoms.
[0012] According to IUPAC rules, the term silane refers to a group of chemical compounds based on a silicon backbone and hydrogen. In organic silanes, the hydrogen atoms are wholly or partially replaced by organic groups such as (substituted) alkyl groups and / or alkoxy groups. In organic silanes, some of the hydrogen atoms may also be replaced by hydroxyl groups.
[0013] The disclosed agent for treating a keratinous material contains at least one organic silicon compound, preferably selected from silanes having one, two or three silicon atoms, wherein the organic silicon compound comprises one or more hydroxyl groups or hydrolyzable groups per molecule.

[0024] The organic silicon compounds of formula (I) R 1 R 2 NL-Si(OR 3 ) a (R 4 ) b (I) each have at one end the silicon-containing group -Si(OR 3 ) a (R 4 ) b .
[0025] In the terminal structural unit -Si(OR 3 ) a (R 4 ) b, the residue R 3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group, and the residue R 4 represents a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group. Particularly preferably, R 3 and R 4 independently represent a methyl group or an ethyl group.
[0026] Here, 'a' represents an integer from 1 to 3, and 'b' represents the integer 3 - 'a'. If 'a' represents the number 3, then 'b' equals 0. If 'a' represents the number 2, then 'b' equals 1. If 'a' represents the number 1, then 'b' equals 2.
[0027] The best protection against the negative effects of water and / or air pollution (“anti-pollution” effect) and the best care of stressed hair could be obtained when the agent for treating a keratinous material contains at least one organic silicon compound of formula (I) in which the residues R 3 , R 4 independently stand for a methyl group or for an ethyl group.
[0028] Organic silicon compounds of formula (I) revealed in detail are (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (3-Aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane 1-(3-Aminopropyl)silanetriol (2-Aminoethyl)triethoxysilane (2-Aminoethyl)trimethoxysilane 1-(2-Aminoethyl)silanetriol (3-Dimethylaminopropyl)triethoxysilane (3-Dimethylaminopropyl)trimethoxysilane 1-(3-Dimethylaminopropyl)silanetriol (2-Dimethylaminoethyl)triethoxysilane. (2-Dimethylaminoethyl)trimethoxysilane and / or 1-(2-Dimethylaminoethyl)silanetriol
[0029] The aforementioned organic silicon compounds of formula (I) are commercially available.
[0030] (3-Aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane can be purchased from Sigma-Aldrich, for example. (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilane is also commercially available from Sigma-Aldrich.
[0031] In a further embodiment, the agent for treating a keratinous material may additionally contain an organic silicon compound of formula (II) (R 5 O) c (R 6 ) d Si-(A) e -[NR 7 -(A')] f -[O-(A")] g -[NR 8 -(A‴)] h -Si(R 6 ') d' (OR 5 ') c' (II).
[0032] The organosilicon compounds of formula (II) each bear at their two ends the silicon-containing groups (R 5 O) c (R 6 ) d Si- and -Si(R 6 ') d' (OR 5 ') c' .
[0033] The central part of the molecule of formula (II) contains the groups -(A) e - and -[NR 7 -(A')] f - and -[O-(A")] g - and -[NR a -(A‴)] h -. Each of the substituents e, f, g, and h can independently represent the number 0 or 1, provided that at least one of the substituents e, f, g, and h is non-0. In other words, an organic silicon compound of formula (II) contains at least one substituent from the group consisting of -(A)- and -[NR 7 -(A')]- and -[O-(A")]- and -[NR 8 -(A‴)]-.
[0034] In the two terminal structural units (R 5 O) c (R 6 ) d Si- and -Si(R 6 ') d' (OR 5 ') c', the residues R5, R5', R5" independently represent either a hydrogen atom or a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group. The residues R6, R6' and R6" independently represent a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group.
[0035] Here, c represents an integer from 1 to 3, and d represents the integer 3 - c. If c represents the number 3
[0036] If c represents the number 2, then d equals 0. If c represents the number 2, then d equals 1. If c represents the number 1, then d equals 2.
[0037] Similarly, c' represents an integer from 1 to 3, and d' represents the integer 3 - c'. If c' represents the number 3, then d' equals 0. If c' represents the number 2, then d' equals 1. If c' represents the number 1, then d' equals 2.
[0038] A very high anti-pollution effect of the agent for treating a keratinous material was obtained when the residues c and c' both represent the number 3. In this case, d and d' both represent the number 0.
[0039] Furthermore, the agent for treating a keratinous material may contain at least one organic silicon compound of formula (II) (R 5 O) c (R e ) d Si-(A) e -[NR 7 -(A')] f -[O-(A")] g -[NR 8 -(A‴)] h -Si(R 6 ') d' (OR 5 ') c' (II), wherein R5 and R5' independently represent a methyl group or an ethyl group, c and c' both represent the number 3, and d and d' both represent the number 0.
[0040] If c and c' both represent the number 3 and d and d' both represent the number 0, the organic silicon compounds correspond to the formula (IIa) (R 5 O) 3 Si-(A) e -[NR 7 -(A')] f -[O-(A")] g -[NR 8 -(A‴)] h -Si(OR 5 ') 3 (IIa).
[0041] The residues e, f, g, and h can independently represent the number 0 or 1, with at least one residue from e, f, g, and h being non-zero. The abbreviations e, f, g, and h thus define which of the groupings -(A) e - and -[NR 7 -(A')] f - and -[O-(A")] g - and -[NR a -(A‴)] h - are located in the middle section of the organic silicon compound of formula (II).
[0042] In this context, the presence of certain groupings has proven particularly advantageous with regard to increasing the "anti-pollution" effect. Especially good results were obtained when at least two of the residues e, f, g, and h represent the number 1. It is particularly advantageous when e and f both represent the number 1. Furthermore, it is particularly advantageous when g and h both represent the number 0.
[0043] If e and f both represent the number 1 and g and h both represent the number 0, the organic silicon compounds correspond to the formula (IIb) (R 5 O) c (R 6 ) d Si-(A)-[NR 7 -(A')]-Si(R 6 ') d' (OR 5 ') c' (IIb).
[0044] The residues A, A', A", A‴, and A"" independently represent a linear or branched, divalent C1-C20 alkylene group. Preferably, the residues A, A', A", A‴, and A"" independently represent a linear, divalent C1-C20 alkylene group. More preferably, the residues A, A', A", A‴, and A"" independently represent a linear, divalent C1-C6 alkylene group. Particularly preferably, the residues A, A', A", A‴, and A"" independently represent a methylene group (-CH2-), an ethylene group (-CH2-CH2-), a propylene group (-CH2-CH2-CH2-), or a butylene group (-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-). The residues A, A', A", A‴ and A"" are particularly favored to represent a propylene group (-CH 2 -CH 2 -CH 2 -).
[0045] If the remainder f represents the number 1, then the organic silicon compound of formula (II) contains a structural grouping -[NR 7 -(A')]-.
[0046] If the remainder h represents the number 1, then the organic silicon compound of formula (II) contains a structural grouping -[NR 8 -(A‴)]-.
[0047] Here, the residues R 7 and R 8 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C 1 -C 6 alkyl group, a hydroxy-C 1 -C 6 alkyl group, a C 2 -C 6 alkyl group, an amino-C 1 -C 6 alkyl group or a group of the formula (III) - (A"")-Si(R 6 ") d "(OR 5 ") c " (III).
[0048] The residues R 7 and R 8 are particularly preferred, independently of each other, to represent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a 2-hydroxyethyl group, a 2-alkenyl group, a 2-aminoethyl group or a grouping of formula (III).
[0049] If the remainder f represents the number 1 and the remainder h represents the number 0, the organic silicon compound contains the group [NR 7 -(A')], but not the group -[NR 8 -(A‴)]. If the remainder R7 now represents a group of formula (III), then the agent for treating a keratinous material contains an organic silicon compound with 3 reactive silane groups.
[0050] In a further disclosure, the agent for treating a keratinous material contains at least one organic silicon compound of formula (II) (R 5 O) c (R 6 ) d Si-(A) e -[NR 7 -(A')] f -[O-(A")] g -[NR 8 -(A‴)] h -Si(R 6 ') d' (OR 5 ') c' (II), wherein e and f both represent the number 1, g and h both represent the number 0, A and A' independently represent a linear, divalent C 1 -C 6 alkylene group and R7 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a 2-hydroxyethyl group, a 2-alkenyl group, a 2-aminoethyl group or a grouping of formula (III).
[0051] In a further preferred embodiment, the agent for treating a keratinous material comprises at least one organic silicon compound of formula (II), wherein e and f both represent the number 1, g and h both represent the number 0, A and A' independently represent a methylene group (-CH 2 -), an ethylene group (-CH 2 -CH 2 -) or a propylene group (-CH 2 -CH 2 -CH 2 ), and R 7 represents a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a 2-hydroxyethyl group, a 2-alkenyl group, a 2-aminoethyl group or a grouping of formula (III).
[0052] Suitable organic silicon compounds of formula (II) for solving the problem are 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)-N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-1-propanamine 3-(Triethoxysilyl)-N-[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-1-propanamine N-Methyl-3-(trimethoxysilyl)-N-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-1-propanamine N-Methyl-3-(triethoxysilyl)-N-[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-1-propanamine 2-[Bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]amino]-ethanol 2-[Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]amino]-ethanol 3-(Trimethoxysilyl)-N,N-bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-1-propanamine 3-(Triethoxysilyl)-N,N-bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-1-propanamine N1,N1-Bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-1,2-ethanediamine, N1,N1-Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-1,2-ethanediamine, N,N-Bis[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]-2-propen-1-amine N,N-Bis[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]-2-propen-1-amine

[0077] Even the addition of small amounts of water leads to the hydrolysis of organosilicon compounds with at least one hydrolyzable group. The hydrolysis products and / or organosilicon compounds with at least one hydroxyl group can react with each other in a condensation reaction. For this reason, both the organosilicon compounds with at least one hydrolyzable group and their hydrolysis and / or condensation products may be present in the product. When using organosilicon compounds with at least one hydroxyl group, both the organosilicon compounds with at least one hydroxyl group and their condensation products may be present in the product.

[0079] Within the scope of the present invention, values given in wt.% - unless otherwise specified - always refer to the total weight of the cosmetic product.
[0080] As a second essential component of the invention, the cosmetic agent for treating a keratinous material contains a firming copolymer derived from the monomer units N-tert-octylacrylamide, acrylic acid, and tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate. During the work leading to this invention, it was found that, to achieve a particularly good conditioning effect, it is especially advantageous to combine the organic silicon compounds, in particular (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane, with the firming copolymer derived from the monomer units N-tert-octylacrylamide, acrylic acid, and tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate.
[0081] The combination of the organic silicon compound, in particular (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane, with the strengthening copolymer derived from the monomer units N-tert-octylacrylamide, acrylic acid, and tert-butylaminoethyl methacrylate forms a layer on the hair. These strengthening copolymers are also called film-forming copolymers or film formers. This ensures that oxidative hair dyes are significantly protected from washing out. Furthermore, the hair surface of oxidatively damaged hair is made hydrophobic again, which reduces frizz. In addition, the hair's combability is improved.
[0082] Firming copolymers, which according to the present invention are to be included in the cosmetic product, are commercially available. Firming copolymers of this type are known under the INCI name "Octylacrylamide / Acrylates / Butylaminoethyl Methacrylate Copolymer (INCI)" and are marketed by Akzo Nobel under the trademarks "Amphomer®<", "Amphomer®< HC", "Amphomer®< 4961", "Amphomer®< EDGE" and "Amphomer®< LV 71" in various formulations.
[0083] According to a further preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cosmetic agent for treating a keratinous material (c) comprises a second copolymer, which is at least composed of a first monomer selected from the group consisting of a methacrylic acid ester, an acrylic acid ester, methacrylic acid, and acrylic acid, and a second monomer, which is a vinylic monomer, preferably styrene, vinylpyrrolidone, or vinyl acetate, or which is a polyvinylpyrrolidone / polyvinyl acetate copolymer. This second copolymer serves as an additional film former.
[0084] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the firming copolymer is contained in the cosmetic product in an amount of 0.1 to 10 wt.%, preferably 0.5 to 8 wt.%, more preferably 1 to 6 wt.%, based on the total weight of the cosmetic product.
[0085] The agent for treating a keratinous material may, in particular, include an agent for cleaning a keratinous material, an agent for maintaining a keratinous material, an agent for maintaining and cleaning a keratinous material and / or an agent for temporarily reshaping a keratinous material.
[0086] The following describes further components of hair treatment products that may be contained in the products in addition to the mandatory ingredients described above.
[0087] It may be preferred that the agent for treating a keratinous material further comprises 0.001 to 20 wt.% of at least one quaternary compound. This applies in particular to agents for the care of a keratinous material and to agents for the care and cleaning of a keratinous material.
[0088] It is preferred that the at least one quaternary compound be selected from at least one of the groups consisting of Amidoamines and / or cationized amidoamines and / or poly(methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium compounds) and / or; quaternized cellulose derivatives, in particular polyquaternium 10, polyquaternium-24, polyquaternium-27, polyquaternium-67, polyquaternium-72, and / or cationic alkyl polyglycosides and / or cationized honey and / or cationic guar derivatives and / or chitosan and / or polymeric dimethyldiallylammonium salts and their copolymers with esters and amides of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid, in particular polyquaternium-7 and / or copolymers of vinylpyrrolidone with quaternized derivatives of dialkylaminoalkyl acrylate and methacrylate, in particular polyquaternium-11 and / or vinylpyrrolidone-vinylimidazolium methochloride copolymers, in particular polyquaternium-16 and / or quaternized polyvinyl alcohol and / or polyquaternium-74, as well as mixtures thereof.
[0089] It is particularly preferred that the hair treatment product contains a cationic homopolymer, which falls under the INCI name Polyquaternium-37, as quaternary compounds.
[0090] It may be preferred that the agent for treating a keratinous material further comprises a strengthening compound, preferably selected from the group consisting of waxes, synthetic polymers and mixtures thereof.
[0091] To meet the diverse requirements of styling products for treating keratinous materials, a variety of synthetic polymers have been developed as strengthening agents. These polymers can be used in styling products. Alternatively or additionally, other synthetic polymers and / or waxes are used as strengthening agents. Ideally, when applied to the keratinous material, the synthetic polymers and / or waxes form a polymer film that provides a strong hold while remaining flexible enough to withstand stress.
[0092] Synthetic polymers can be divided into cationic, anionic, nonionic and amphoteric strengthening polymers.
