AI Technical Summary
Existing grease guns require multiple units to accommodate screw cartridges with different thread diameters, leading to inefficiencies in lubricant distribution and increased storage needs.
A grease gun with a screw connection featuring at least two different internal threads allows for the connection of screw cartridges with varying external thread diameters, ensuring compatibility and efficient lubricant delivery through a concentrically arranged conveying mechanism.
Enables the use of multiple screw cartridge types with different thread sizes in a single grease gun, reducing the need for multiple units and enhancing lubricant distribution efficiency to lubrication points.
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a grease gun with a screw connection for connecting a screw cartridge containing lubricant, which opens into a feed mechanism of the grease gun.
[0002] A grease gun with a body and a supply line connected to one end of the body is already known from the publication DE 20 2016 102 544 U1. The grease gun includes a connector connected to the supply line, which has an internal thread. Reducing adapters with different internal thread diameters can be screwed into the internal thread of the connector to screw grease cartridges with different connection thread diameters to the internal thread of the grease gun connector.
[0003] Grease guns are used to press lubricant, especially grease, into a lubrication point, such as a bearing. For this purpose, the grease gun can be connected to a grease nipple, for example, through which the lubricant pumped from the grease gun is then directed to the point to be lubricated.
[0004] The object of the invention is to provide a grease gun of the type mentioned above with improved usage properties.
[0005] To achieve this objective, a grease gun with the features of the independent claim is proposed. In particular, a grease gun of the type mentioned above is proposed, characterized in that the screw connection comprises at least two different connection threads for connecting screw-in cartridges with different mating threads. This makes it possible to equip and use the same grease gun with different screw-in cartridges. Thus, two different grease guns are no longer required to use screw-in cartridges with different thread types.
[0006] The grease gun is connected to a screw-in cartridge containing lubricant via its screw connection. When the grease gun is activated, the lubricant is dispensed from the screw-in cartridge and fed to a lubrication point via a discharge opening on the grease gun. The screw-in cartridge can be screwed onto one of at least two different connection threads.
[0007] The two connection threads of the grease gun can have different diameters. This allows screw cartridges with differently sized counter threads to be connected to the same grease gun.
[0008] Screw-on cartridges are typically equipped with external threads. Therefore, the connecting threads of the grease gun are preferably designed as internal threads. In this way, a screw-on cartridge with a mating thread designed as an external thread can be reliably screwed into one of the two connecting threads. The internal threads of the grease gun can be designed such that they overlap the threaded connectors of the screw-on cartridges, where the mating threads are formed, when the screw-on cartridges are properly connected to the grease gun.
[0009] The at least two connection threads can be arranged one inside the other and, in particular, concentrically to each other. Furthermore, they can preferably concentrically surround an outlet opening of the screw connection into a delivery connection of the delivery mechanism leading to a discharge opening of the grease gun. This ensures that, regardless of which of the at least two connection threads of the grease gun a screw cartridge is connected to the grease gun, lubricant from the screw cartridge can reach the delivery mechanism of the grease gun.
[0010] According to the invention, the screw connection of the grease gun has at least two threaded connectors. One of the at least two connecting threads is arranged or formed on each of the threaded connectors. Preferably, the at least two threaded connectors are arranged one inside the other. Particularly preferably, the at least two threaded connectors are arranged concentrically with one another. Furthermore, the threaded connectors can concentrically surround an outlet opening, for example, the previously mentioned outlet opening of the screw connection, through which lubricant can enter the feed mechanism of the grease gun.
[0011] Preferably, the at least two connection threads of the grease gun are nested within one another such that they are flush on the cartridge side. Furthermore, the free, cartridge-side end faces of the at least two connection threads can be arranged in a common plane. Thus, the at least two different connection threads of the screw connection of the grease gun can be accessible to the mating threads of different screw-in cartridge types. This can promote the reliable connection of cartridges to the grease gun.
[0012] One version of the grease gun is designed as a single-lever grease gun. Another version of the grease gun is designed as a two-lever grease gun.
[0013] The invention will now be described in more detail using an exemplary embodiment, but is not limited to this embodiment. Further exemplary embodiments result from combining the features of individual or multiple claims with one another and / or by combining individual or multiple features of the exemplary embodiment. They show: Fig. 1a perspective side view of a grease gun, Fig. 2a partially broken side view of the grease gun from Figure 1 with a screw cartridge connected to an inner connection thread of two connection threads of the grease gun, as well as Fig. 3 a partially broken side view of the grease gun from the Figures 1 and 2 with a screw cartridge connected to one of two external connection threads of the grease gun.
[0014] All figures show a grease gun, designated as a whole by 1. The grease gun 1 has a screw connection 2 for connecting a screw-in cartridge. The screw connection 2 opens into a feed mechanism 3 of the grease gun 1. The feed mechanism 3 allows lubricant to be discharged from a discharge opening 4 of the grease gun 1 and supplied to a lubrication point.
[0015] A comparison of the Figures 2 and 3 makes it clear that the screw connection 2 comprises a total of two different connection threads 5 and 6 for connecting screw cartridges 7 and 8 with different counter threads 9 and 10.
[0016] The two connecting threads 5 and 6 differ in their diameters and are designed as internal threads. The mating threads 9 and 10 of the two screw cartridges 7 and 8 are correspondingly designed as external threads. Figure 2shows the screw cartridges 7 with the smaller counter thread 9 in the inner connection thread 5 with the smaller diameter. Figure 3 shows the screw cartridge 8 with its larger counter thread 10 in the larger connection thread 6 of the grease gun 1.
[0017] The partially broken-out representations of the grease gun 1 according to the Figures 2 and 3 show that the two connection threads 5 and 6 are arranged inside each other and concentrically to each other and concentrically to an outlet opening 11 of the screw connection 2 of the grease gun 1. The outlet opening 11 of the screw connection 2 opens into a delivery connection 12. Via the delivery connection 12, the outlet opening 11 of the screw connection 2 is connected to the discharge opening 4 of the grease gun 1.
[0018] The screw connection 2 of the grease gun 1 has two threaded connectors 16 and 17. The threaded connector 16 is an inner threaded connector and has the inner connection thread 5. The threaded connector 17 is an outer threaded connector and has the outer connection thread 6 of the two connection threads 5 and 6. The inner threaded connector 16 is arranged within the outer threaded connector 17. Thus, one of the two connection threads 5 and 6 is formed on each of the threaded connectors 16 and 17. The two threaded connectors 16 and 17 are arranged concentrically to one another. Furthermore, the threaded connectors 16 and 17 concentrically surround the previously mentioned outlet opening 11 of the screw connection 2. When the grease gun 1 is operated, the lubricant, usually lubricating grease, passes through the outlet opening 11 from the screw-in screw cartridge 7 or 8 into the feed mechanism 3 of the grease gun 1 and is finally discharged via the discharge opening 4.
[0019] The two connecting threads 5 and 6 and the two threaded connectors 16 and 17 are nested in such a way that they are flush on the cartridge side. Thus, the free, cartridge-side end faces 13 and 14 of the two connecting threads 5 and 6 and the two threaded connectors 16 and 17 lie in a common imaginary plane.
[0020] The grease gun 1 shown in the figures is designed as a two-lever grease gun. On one of the two levers, the grease gun 1 has a holder 15 for the screw-in cartridges 7 and 8.
[0021] The invention relates to improvements in the technical field of grease guns. To improve the handling of a grease gun 1, it has a screw connection 2 for connecting screw-in cartridges 7 and 8. The screw connection 2 comprises at least two different connection threads 5 and 6 for connecting screw-in cartridges 7 and 8, which have different mating threads 9 and 10. List of reference symbols
