Description

[0001] The invention relates to a threshold connector for fastening a floor threshold profile between the vertical frame profiles of a window or a door, wherein the threshold connector can be inserted between the frame profile, in particular its rebate-side inner surface, and an end face of the floor threshold profile, comprising a threshold connector base body, wherein the threshold connector base body has a contact surface on its side to be assigned to the frame profile, with which it can be placed against the frame rebate of the frame profile. The invention also relates to a window or a door, at least comprising a frame which can be firmly connected to a masonry and has a stop seal and / or a central seal, a turn and / or turn-tilt sash pivotably connected thereto and a threshold connector which is placed between the rebate-side inner surface of the frame and the end face of the floor threshold profile and is firmly connected to the adjacent elements.

[0002] Doors, especially side entrance doors and revolving doors, typically have a threshold connector in the transition area from the threshold to the vertical door frame, which securely connects the threshold and the frame. Such threshold connectors are known, for example, from GB 2 378 975 B and DE 20 2009 004 738 U1.

[0003] Threshold connectors are elements used to easily and securely attach threshold profiles between, in particular, vertical frame profiles. There are two connection options: One involves placing the frame profiles on top of the horizontal threshold. To ensure a precise fit, the vertical plastic frame profile must be milled to match the surface contour of the threshold, ensuring the two profiles fit together perfectly. The tread areas of the threshold, for example, consist of a combination of durable aluminum and plastic profiles. The plastic profiles, usually made of PVC, provide thermal insulation.

[0004] The other option involves inserting the threshold into the clear opening, i.e., between the two vertically running frame profiles. For this, a threshold connector is connected to the threshold at the end and firmly fastened with screws. For this, the threshold is cut at a right angle and connected to the threshold connector, which is usually made of PVC. The threshold connector forms the connection to the threshold on one side and is cut straight.

[0005] On the other side, it forms the connection to the frame and is milled according to the contour of the frame profile for a flush or form-fitting connection. In this case, the threshold connector takes on the function of contour compensation and connects the horizontal threshold to the vertical frame profile.

[0006] Alternatively, the threshold can be installed directly between the vertical frame profiles, corresponding to the passage width. This requires contour milling to adapt to the rebate surface of the frame profiles. In this variant, the threshold connector serves exclusively to connect the threshold to the frame profile and is typically made of die-cast zinc or plastic.

[0007] The threshold connector must also be contour-adjusted at its left and right ends, which abut the vertical frame profiles. Plastic threshold connectors are used for this purpose. These are injection-molded parts that are connected to the smoothly cut threshold on one side and form a contour-matched connection to the vertical frame profile on the other. This pre-assembled threshold is pushed into the frame rebate of the open door and secured to the vertical frame profile.

[0008] Frame profile cross-sections can vary depending on their different applications. The disadvantage of the current application is that the threshold connectors have to be kept in different designs, e.g. for frame profiles of double-rebate seal (AD) and center seal systems (MD). The double-rebate seal in the frame profile is mandatory. It seals the circumferential, external gap between the sash and frame against wind and rain when the window is closed. The center seal can optionally provide additional sealing in addition to the double-rebate seal between the sash and frame. Center seal systems therefore have a first sealing level in the frame at the inner stop, the second is shifted to the center of the frame rebate. The selection of the respective sealing system is freely chosen by the respective manufacturer and can vary depending on the intended use.

[0009] In any case, an adequate threshold connector is required for each frame profile cross-section, which must form a suitable negative contour of its contact surface facing the frame profile in the connection area.

[0010] Publication DE 37 27 663 A1 describes a method for connecting a frame profile to a threshold profile. For this purpose, the frame profile and the threshold profile are cut to length at right angles and connected to each other using a special threshold connector. The threshold connector has a flat sealing surface on its upper side that corresponds to the outer contour of the frame profile and a shape on its underside that corresponds to the threshold profile. Preferably, the threshold connector is connected to the frame profile by screwing and / or gluing, while the threshold connector is initially connected to the threshold profile by clipping or sliding on a form-fitting connection. After the frame profiles have been aligned, the threshold connector can be connected to the threshold profile by a force-fitting connection using a screw connection.

[0011] The disadvantage of this connection type is that the threshold connector must have the same cross-section contour as the frame profile. If the frame profile changes, this inevitably entails a change in the threshold connector. Since threshold connectors are usually injection-molded parts, new, costly injection molding tools are required for contour variations. A new injection mold is always required to produce the appropriate threshold connector. This inevitably results in an increase in both investment costs on the production side and an increase in storage capacity.

[0012] The object of the invention is therefore to provide a universal threshold connector that forms a precise connection to different frame profiles, especially those different types of frame profiles that differ from one another in cross-section but are at least predominantly identical in cross-section. The differences are therefore considered small compared to the overall cross-section.

[0013] This object is achieved with a sleeper connector according to the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are set forth in the subclaims. The wording of all claims is hereby incorporated by reference into this description.

[0014] The use of the singular shall not exclude the plural, and this shall also apply in the reverse sense unless otherwise disclosed.

[0015] The advantage of the invention is that a threshold connector base body can be used for several types, in particular at least two types of frame profiles, e.g. for a frame profile with stop seal and center seal, as well as without center seal, i.e. only with stop seal.

[0016] In the case of a frame profile without a central seal, the contact surface of the threshold connector base body is supplemented, in particular filled, by an insertable interchangeable element which is, for example, inserted laterally onto / into the threshold connector base body. The contact surface of the threshold connector according to the invention facing the rebate of the frame profile can thus be adapted to the surface profile / contour of the frame rebate of different types of frame profiles, preferably to frame profiles for only a rebate seal and frame profiles for a rebate seal and a central seal. The cross-sections of these frame profiles therefore preferably differ only in the portion of the cross-section assigned to the central seal and are otherwise identical.

[0017] This eliminates the need to keep different versions of threshold connectors in stock for different frame profiles. Instead, a first threshold connector can be formed from the threshold connector base body alone, and a second threshold connector can be formed from the threshold connector base body with the inserted interchangeable element. The invention can also provide for a set consisting of a threshold connector base body and at least one interchangeable element, from which a required threshold connector can be formed as required. This reduces storage capacity and lowers the costs of tool manufacturing; in this case, the provision of additional, complex injection molds.

[0018] According to the invention, the threshold connector base body, which is designed uniformly from a single molded part for multiple frame profile types, can be used optionally for both a frame profile of a rebate sealing system (AD) and a frame profile of a center sealing system (MD), either without a removable element or by inserting a removable element. Using a universal threshold connector base body, the simple insertion of the removable element enables individual design of the threshold for different sealing systems.

[0019] The invention is a special threshold solution for installers who do not want the traditional milling of the frame profile. It is a special threshold connector that allows the floor threshold to be installed with the frame profile without milling the frame.

[0020] The threshold has a threshold connector in the transition area to the vertical frame profile, which securely connects the threshold and frame profile.

[0021] For this purpose, the threshold connector is attached to the threshold as a standalone threshold connector base body or alternatively as a threshold connector base body with an inserted interchangeable element. It is preferably attached to the threshold's end face, which is cut perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and can be connected to the threshold, e.g., using screws. This pre-assembled, finished threshold is positioned in the frame rebate and firmly screwed to the vertical frame profile, e.g., using fastening tabs.

[0022] This design now makes it possible for the uniformly designed sleeper connector base body to be used either as a sleeper connector for a center seal system (MD) or, by inserting an insertable interchangeable element, as a sleeper connector for a stop seal system (AD).

[0023] In one possible embodiment, for example, the threshold connector (base body) in the center seal system can have a recess for the frame overlap on the outside of the building, which interacts positively and flush with the contour of the frame rebate. In the stop and center seal systems, the extruded seals on the frame profile in the contact area of the threshold connector are preferably removed. The contour or the course / relief of the contact surface of the threshold connector corresponds to the inner contour of the plastic frame profile, after removal of the extruded seals, in the contact area between the two components. The contour of the contact surface of the plastic frame profile is preferably formed by the glazing bead groove, rebate surface, center seal web (if present) and frame overlap.

[0024] The rebate-side contact surface of the threshold connector according to the invention preferably corresponds to the negative shape of the rebate surface of the corresponding frame profile.

[0025] The threshold connector base body is designed for the contour with the largest space requirement of one of the frame profile types, in this case, for example, the frame profile of a center seal system. By inserting the interchangeable element, it can be adapted to a contour with a smaller space requirement of another frame profile type, in this case, for example, the rebate seal system without a center seal.

[0026] If a door is to be installed with only a stop seal system, the threshold connector base body can be supplemented with an interchangeable element to form the appropriate threshold connector.

[0027] The interchangeable element is preferably also an injection-molded part, just like the sleeper connector base body. It forms or encompasses the negative mold for the recess in the sleeper connector base body for the center seal bar, so that, in the case of a stop system, it can be precisely inserted into the recess and fills it. The gap that would otherwise arise in the sleeper connector base body due to the missing center seal bar is precisely closed by the interchangeable element.

[0028] In a preferred embodiment, the interchangeable element has an attached first guide bar, in particular a long guide bar, and a second guide bar, in particular a comparatively short guide bar, which are arranged parallel to one another. The interchangeable element can be precisely pushed into the sleeper connector base body by means of the guide bars, preferably at the contact surface, thus filling the recess.

[0029] The interchangeable element can optionally also be inserted retrospectively from above, i.e., parallel to the longitudinal direction of the frame profile after installation, as a form plug. Such a form plug is preferably made of an elastic soft plastic, for example, APTK, and is more preferably provided with a collar. The interchangeable element functions comparatively as a spacer. A flush contour along the frame rebate is created by inserting the interchangeable element as a filler.

[0030] Depending on the sealing system, the threshold connector according to the invention is attached to the front of the threshold, consisting of a threshold connector base body with or without a removable element. The pre-assembled, complete threshold is inserted between the vertical frame profiles during installation and is preferably firmly connected to them to form a frame.

[0031] Further details and features will become apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments in conjunction with the figures. The respective features can be implemented individually or in combination with one another. The possibilities for solving the problem are not limited to the embodiments.

[0032] An exemplary embodiment is shown schematically in the figures. Identical reference numerals in the individual figures denote identical or functionally equivalent elements, or elements that correspond to one another in terms of their functions. [0033] In Figure 1 A sleeper connector base body 10 according to the invention is shown. The sleeper connector base body 10 has the shape of an angular profile consisting of a vertical and a horizontal leg. This sleeper connector base body 10 can be used alone as a sleeper connector according to the invention.

[0034] The vertical leg of the threshold connector base body 10 comprises an upwardly facing fastening tab 12 or is formed solely by this. In the contact surface of the threshold connector 10 facing the frame or to be assigned to it, there is a recess 11 for a central sealing web 31' next to the fastening tab 12, e.g. on the building side, next to the fastening tab 12, in particular the web on the frame profile without the central seal 31. On the other side, in particular on the outside of the fastening tab 12, on the contact surface facing the frame profile, there are two positioning cams 19 arranged vertically one below the other, or just one, in particular which do not protrude beyond the contact plane 10'. The ends of the positioning cams 19, the tab 12 and the outer recess wall facing the frame profile can thus lie in this contact plane.Preferably, the threshold connector base body 10 therefore has no elements that protrude beyond this plane 10' in the direction of the frame profile.

[0035] The positioning cams 19 serve as an assembly aid and ensure correct positioning when inserting the pre-assembled threshold 40. The positioning cams 19 engage the glazing bead groove 39 of the frame. The contact surface preferably has no sealing surface on the frame side.

[0036] The horizontal leg of the threshold connector base body 10 corresponds in its cross-sectional profile to the profiling of the threshold profile and preferably has at least one vertically extending sealing surface 15 on the threshold-side end face, which is provided, for example, with an adhesive-mounted, e.g., squeeze-on sealing element. The threshold connector base body 10 is provided with a groove 18 for a cover that can be placed therein, e.g., clipped into it, and has a flat fixing element 13 on the threshold side, which is preferably equipped with two guide lugs 13', 13" that extend on both edges along the lateral contour of the fixing element 13. The fixing element 13 engages the end face in a form-fitting manner in the groove 42 of the base profile 41 of the threshold profile 40 and is inserted as far as it will go according to its length and is fixed against lifting. On the side, in particular on the outside of the building, the threshold connector base body 10 has a recess 17 for the frame overlap 34, which interacts in a form-fitting and flush manner with the contour of the frame rebate on the overlap.

[0037] On the surface, particularly the surface facing the building's exterior, the threshold connector base body 10 has a drainage channel, particularly a sloped drainage channel 14, which, when assembled with the threshold, preferably forms a continuous extension. According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the threshold connector base body 10, formed from a molded part, is interspersed with screw holes 16 to 16‴, particularly in the longitudinal direction of the threshold profile. Screw holes 16", 16‴ are provided in the vertical leg for securing to the frame profile 30, and screw holes 16, 16' are provided in the horizontal leg for fastening to the threshold 10, which serve for pre-assembly. A continuous screw connection of the frame profile, threshold connector base body, and threshold profile is also conceivable.

[0038] The Figures 2A - 2FIn the classic two-dimensional views, the structural details of the sleeper connector base body or of a sleeper connector 10 formed by it without an interchangeable element are shown.

[0039] Figure 3A shows the interchangeable element 20 in perspective view, the Figures 3B - 3G represent the classic two-dimensional views. The interchangeable element 20, for example, is also a molded part produced by injection molding, just like the sleeper connector base body 10. It comprises an element with the negative mold for the recess for the center sealing web 31', so that, if it is a sling sealing system, it fits precisely into the recess 11 and fills it. The guide webs 22, 23 are molded onto this element with the negative mold.

[0040] In the embodiment shown, the interchangeable element 20 has a long guide web 22 and a comparatively short guide web 23, which are arranged parallel to each other. The interchangeable element can be precisely pushed into the threshold connector base body 10 by means of the guide webs 22, 23, thus filling the recess 11. After insertion into the threshold connector base body, the contact surface 21 of the interchangeable element forms part of the contact surface of the threshold connector then formed. A flush contour along the frame rebate 34 is thus created by inserting the interchangeable element 20 as a filler.

[0041] Figure 4 shows the threshold connector body 10 between frame profile 30 and floor threshold profile 40 in perspective view and Figure 5 represents the threshold connector base body 10 between the frame profile 30 with central seal and the floor threshold profile 40 in the assembled state.

[0042] Figure 6 depicts the threshold connector body 10 with interchangeable element 20 between frame profile 30' only with stop seal and floor threshold profile 40 in perspective view and Figure 7 shows the threshold connector base body 10 with interchangeable element 20 between frame 30' only with stop seal and floor threshold profile 40 in assembly.

[0043] The frame profiles for the stop and center seal systems 30, 30' are formed, for example, from hollow chamber profiles with inserted reinforcing steel 37. The threshold profile 40 is integrated at the ends between the vertically arranged frame profiles 30 or 30'. The threshold profile 40 consists, for example, of an aluminum tread profile 43, which is coupled or clipped to a PVC base profile 41. This combination of threshold profiles is suitable, for example, for arranging an attachable cover (not shown) on the base profile 41. glossary APTK
