Description
[0001] The invention relates to a factory-prefabricated filter tube for filling with smoking material and for smoking by a consumer, comprising a conical paper tube and a filter.
[0002] Such a filter sleeve is already known from US 2017 / 0013873 A1. The filter sleeve disclosed therein has a filter that is not described in detail.
[0003] US 2019 / 133177 A1 discloses rolling cigarette paper around a molded body. This body may comprise carbon-containing filter material.
[0004] DE 20 2004 007 772 U1 discloses a conical tobacco tube with a filter insert arranged inside it. The filter insert may contain activated carbon.
[0005] A conical paper cigarette tube with a filter is also known from DE 33 00 302 A1.
[0006] DE 42 444 981 C2 discloses a cylindrical filter with activated carbon.
[0007] The disadvantage of these known filter sleeves is that the manufacturing effort, particularly for the conical shape and the correct alignment of the filter inserts, is considerable, making such filter inserts particularly costly to manufacture. Furthermore, conical filter sleeves require particularly close attention when inserted by the end user to prevent incorrect insertion. This can lead to reduced or even completely lost filter effectiveness.
[0008] The invention has for its object to create a factory-prefabricated filter sleeve which is improved with regard to at least one of the disadvantages mentioned.
[0009] This object is achieved by the filter sleeve recited in claim 1. The filter of the filter sleeve according to the invention comprises activated carbon. This allows a good filtering effect to be achieved. The filter is preferably designed as an activated carbon filter.
[0010] The filter sleeve is intended for non-factory filling with smoking material, for example in the manner described in US 2017 / 0013873 A1.
[0011] Preferably, the filter, as is already known per se, is arranged on the side of the filter sleeve facing the smoker during smoking. The filter can also be referred to as a mouthpiece. The filter preferably has a circular diameter.
[0012] The filter sleeve preferably consists of the conical paper sleeve and the filter, and therefore has no other components.
[0013] The smoking product may contain or be formed from plant components such as tobacco. The smoking product may contain medicinally active substances. Surprisingly, it has been shown that while the activated carbon filter filters out a significant portion of harmful substances from the inhaled smoke, a large portion of the medicinally active substances pass through the filter.
[0014] According to the invention, the filter is cylindrical and has a constant diameter along its length. It has been shown that a simple and reliable arrangement of a cylindrical filter in a conical paper tube is possible. This eliminates the need for conical custom-made activated carbon filters, which would entail increased manufacturing costs. The diameter of the filter can be, for example, approximately 6 mm or approximately 8 mm.
[0015] Preferably, the filter is connected to the paper sleeve by a force-locking connection. The filter can be connected to the paper sleeve exclusively by a force-locking connection.
[0016] The filter preferably comprises an edge region and a smoking product-side region. The edge region of the filter faces the smoker while the filled filter tube is smoking, and the smoking product-side region of the filter faces the smoking product when the filter tube is filled.
[0017] Preferably, the edge area of the filter is arranged within the paper tube without any play. This allows for a friction-locked arrangement of the filter. This preferably ensures a gas- and tobacco-tight seal between the filter and the paper tube.
[0018] Preferably, the tobacco product-side portion of the filter is positioned with some clearance in the paper tube. This has been shown to be unproblematic. The gas- and tobacco product-tight seal between the filter and the paper tube is preferably already ensured by the clearance-free positioning of the filter's edge portion in the paper tube.
[0019] The filter can be firmly bonded to the paper sleeve, for example by gluing.
[0020] The paper sleeve can be flush with the edge area of the filter.
[0021] If stop devices are provided to prevent the filter from slipping out of the paper sleeve, a particularly reliable connection between the filter and the paper sleeve can be achieved, even with a cylindrical filter.
[0022] The paper tube preferably has a first end, preferably facing the smoker when the filled filter tube is smoked, and a second end opposite the first end. The second end of the paper tube is then lit for smoking.
[0023] The stop means preferably prevent the filter from slipping out of the first end of the paper tube. Slipping of the filter out of the paper tube in the opposite direction is preferably prevented by the smoking material when the filter tube is filled.
[0024] If the stop means allow the paper sleeve to extend beyond the edge of the filter, a particularly simple and reliable connection between the filter and the paper sleeve can be achieved. This is because the conicity of the paper sleeve preferably results in a first end of the paper sleeve with a first diameter that is smaller than the diameter of the filter, reliably preventing the filter from slipping out of the first end of the paper sleeve.
[0025] The area of the paper sleeve that extends beyond the edge of the filter can be bent towards the filter until it comes at least almost into contact with the corresponding end face of the filter, and there it can be glued to itself and / or to the end face of the filter.
[0026] The filter preferably comprises an edge-side end piece. The filter preferably comprises an end piece on the tobacco product side. At least one end piece is preferably dimensionally stable. At least one end piece can comprise ceramic or be formed from it. The filter preferably comprises a sleeve. At least one end piece is preferably arranged in the sleeve. The sleeve preferably comprises paper or cardboard or is formed from it. The filter preferably comprises a filling, preferably of activated carbon.
[0027] Preferably, the paper sleeve has a first end with a first diameter of about 8 mm and a second end with a second diameter between about 9 mm and about 14 mm, preferably about 10 mm.
[0028] In another embodiment, the paper sleeve has a first end with a first diameter of about 6 mm and a second end with a second diameter between about 7 mm and about 12 mm, preferably about 8 mm.
[0029] Preferably, the conical paper tube has exactly one opening angle. Preferably, the outer surface of the conical paper tube has no kink and, more preferably, no step. Preferably, the entire paper tube is conical.
[0030] The opening angle of the conical paper tube can be between 0.5° and 5° or between 0.5° and 2°. It can be approximately 5°, approximately 4°, approximately 3°, approximately 2°, approximately 1.5°, approximately 1°, or approximately 0.5°.
[0031] The filter sleeve has a total length of between approximately 9 cm and 20 cm, preferably between approximately 10 cm and approximately 12 cm, and most preferably approximately 11 cm.
[0032] The filter has a filter length that can be between approximately 15 and 50 mm, preferably between 25 and 40 mm.
[0033] The invention will now be explained in more detail using an embodiment shown in the drawings. They show: Fig. 1 a side view of the first embodiment of a filter sleeve according to the invention; Fig. 2 a side view of the second embodiment of a filter sleeve according to the invention; Fig. 3 a section of Fig. 2 , where the opening angle is shown enlarged for clarity.
[0034] The Fig. 1 The first embodiment of the filter sleeve shown and designated 100 (hereinafter filter sleeve 100) is prefabricated at the factory and intended for non-factory filling with smoking material, for example, by a smoker. The filled filter sleeve can be lit and smoked.
[0035] The filter sleeve comprises a conical paper sleeve 1 and a filter 2. The filter 2 is designed as an activated carbon filter and comprises activated carbon 3.
[0036] The filter is arranged on the side of the filter sleeve 100 facing the smoker during smoking and can also be referred to as a mouthpiece.
[0037] The filter 2 is cylindrical. It has an edge region 4 facing the smoker during smoking of the filled filter tube and a region 5 facing the smoking article when the filter tube is filled. The filter has a diameter of approximately 6 mm or approximately 8 mm.
[0038] The filter is frictionally connected to the paper sleeve 1. Its edge area 4 is arranged in the paper sleeve 1 without play.
[0039] Its tobacco product side area 5 is arranged with clearance 15 in the paper tube 1.
[0040] The filter 2 consists, apart from the activated carbon filling 3, of three parts: a tobacco-side end piece 7, a peripheral end piece 6, and a sleeve 8. Both end pieces 6 and 7 are dimensionally stable. Both end pieces 6 and 7 are made of ceramic. The sleeve 8 is made of cardboard.
[0041] The paper tube 100 has a first end 11 facing the smoker when the filled filter tube is smoked, and a second end 12 opposite the first end. The first end 11 has a first diameter 13 of approximately 8 mm and a second end 12 with a second diameter of approximately 10 mm.
[0042] The conical paper tube 1 has exactly one opening angle α. Its outer surface has no bend or step. The opening angle α of the conical paper tube is approximately 1°.
[0043] The filter sleeve 100 has a total length 10. This is approximately 11 cm. The ratio of the filter length 9 to the total length 10 of the filter sleeve 100 is approximately 1 / 3 in the embodiments shown in the drawing.
[0044] The paper sleeve 1 of the filter sleeve 100 is flush with the edge area 4 of the filter 2, see Fig. 1 .
[0045] In the Figures 2 and 3A further embodiment is shown. The same reference numerals denote the same components. Reference is made to the above description. In the following, only the differences to the Fig. 1 The first embodiment shown is shown: The Fig. 2 and 3 The second embodiment of the filter sleeve according to the invention (hereinafter filter sleeve 200) shown and designated 200 has stop means 16 to prevent the filter 2 from slipping out of the first end 11 of the paper sleeve 1.
[0046] The stop means 16 are formed by the paper sleeve 1 projecting beyond the edge area 4 of the filter 2 (see Fig. 2 and 3 ).
[0047] As in particular Fig. 3shows, in which the opening angle α' is drawn greatly enlarged for the purpose of clearer illustration, this results in a first end 11 of the paper sleeve 1 with a first diameter 13 which is smaller than the diameter 17 of the filter 2, as a result of the conicity of the paper sleeve, whereby slipping out of the filter 2 from the first end 11 of the paper sleeve 1 is prevented.
[0048] The area of the paper sleeve 1 projecting beyond the edge area 4 of the filter can be bent towards the filter 2 in the filter sleeve 200 until it comes at least almost into contact with the end face of the filter 2, and there can be glued to itself and / or to the end face of the filter 2 (not shown in the figures).
