Description

[0001] The invention relates to a mobile construction machine having at least one communication interface for communication with a mobile input device for the user-side input of user commands for operating the construction machine, and at least one control unit for converting the user commands entered via the input device and communicated via the communication interface into control signals for machine components of the construction machine, as well as a method for controlling a mobile construction machine.

[0002] US 2019 / 0308856 A1 relates to a transport system with several robot units for communication with a remote control device and with a steering module with a receiver for receiving control signals from the remote control device or sending feedback to the remote control device.

[0003] US 2014 / 0059263 A1 concerns a docking station that enables a connection between a mobile device and the docking station via NFC. The docking station uses NFC to identify and authenticate the mobile device.

[0004] DE 10 2015 013 147 A1 discloses a machine operation assistance system with a human-machine interface displayable on a mobile device and proximity sensors that report to a control system executable with the mobile device when the user of the mobile device enters or exits a control panel arranged around a machine. For this purpose, the proximity sensors can comprise a transmitter that can be designed for attachment to the corresponding machine and transmits a control panel identifier. The transmitters can transmit a unique identification number as the control panel identifier, whereby the detection of the identification number by the mobile device can be used as a signal to release the machine data.

[0005] When designing the control system of a mobile construction machine, for example a truck mixer, with a mobile input device, for example a smartphone or a tablet on which a program (app) for controlling the mobile machine is installed, safety aspects must be taken into account, in particular the relevant regulations, such as the Machinery Directive.

[0006] The Machinery Directive (Directive 2006 / 42 / EC) specifically stipulates that control and control devices of machinery must be designed in such a way that hazardous situations do not arise, neither in the event of defects in the hardware or software used, nor in the event of errors in the logic of the control circuit, nor in the event of foreseeable operating errors. It must not be possible to start the machinery unintentionally. It must not be possible to prevent the machinery from stopping. The Machinery Directive explicitly stipulates that, for wireless control systems, an automatic shutdown of the machine must be triggered if no correct control signals are received or the connection is lost.

[0007] The Machinery Directive also contains specifications for stopping machinery. Each operating device, including any mobile input device used for operation, must be equipped with a command device for stopping individual or specific functions of the machine, depending on the hazard situation. To stop the machine in an emergency, each machine must be equipped with one or more emergency stop devices (emergency stop buttons) that can prevent an imminent or already occurring hazard. The emergency stop device brings the dangerous process, e.g. the rotation of the mixer drum on a truck mixer, to a standstill as quickly as possible; if necessary, certain additional safety movements must be triggered. It is important that the function triggered by the emergency stop device must be available and ready for operation at all times. The problem here is that a mobile input device, such as a smartphone or tablet, does not include an emergency stop control device (e.g., an emergency stop button) that meets the requirements of the Machinery Directive. Therefore, the emergency stop function cannot be implemented, or at least not solely, by the mobile input device.

[0008] Another problem is establishing a simple and secure association between the construction machine and the mobile input device to prevent operating errors and the resulting hazards. In particular, the aim is to prevent the user from accidentally controlling the wrong machine via their mobile input device, for example, if several similar construction machines are located in the immediate vicinity, which regularly occurs on large construction sites and depots.

[0009] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an improved mobile construction machine which enables operation by means of a mobile input device in accordance with safety requirements.

[0010] It is a further object of the invention to enable a simple and error-free assignment between the mobile construction machine and the mobile input device.

[0011] Furthermore, it should be prevented that user commands entered via an input device that the user has not used for a long time are accidentally converted into control signals for machine components.

[0012] At least one of these objects is achieved by a mobile construction machine having the features of claim 1 and by a method having the features of claim 9.

[0013] Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the invention emerge from the dependent claims.

[0014] The invention proposes a monitoring device for monitoring the mobile input device according to predefined monitoring criteria, wherein the monitoring device is designed to trigger a stop function depending on the monitoring result. The monitoring device can ensure that the control of the mobile construction machine via the mobile input device complies with the Machinery Directive.

[0015] The monitoring device can be used to easily check whether the mobile input device is safe for operating the construction machine. To do so, the monitoring device checks at least one predefined monitoring criterion, which is to be understood as a distinguishing feature and a condition for the safe operation of the construction machine controlled via the mobile input device. If the monitoring criterion indicates that a hazard is imminent or already exists, the monitoring device triggers a stop function. The stop function can consist of at least partially blocking the input of user commands on the input device and / or communication of the user commands and / or conversion of the user commands into control signals. The stop function can also provide for at least one function of the construction machine to be shut down and / or an emergency stop of the construction machine to be triggered, thereby bringing the machine into a safe state within the meaning of the Machinery Directive. In particular, if the communication connection between the input device and the communication interface is interrupted, the machine is shut down. By blocking at least individual user commands, it can be ensured that the construction machine does not inadvertently pose a hazard via operation on the mobile input device. To this end, it may be sufficient to at least partially block user commands on the input device and / or the communication of the user commands and / or the conversion of the user commands into control signals.

[0016] According to the invention, at least one identification transmitter is provided for transferring identification data of the construction machine to the mobile input device, wherein the control unit is configured to enable operation of the construction machine depending on the identification data. By transferring identification data of the construction machine to the mobile input device, the assignment of the input device to this construction machine can be easily ensured by the control unit being configured to enable operation of the construction machine depending on the identification data. This construction machine can only be operated once the input device has received the identification data assigned to the construction machine. For example, it can be provided that the user commands are communicated to the control unit via the communication interface together with the received identification data. The control unit compares the identification data received in this way with the stored data of the construction machine to which the control unit is assigned and only implements the user commands if the identification data matches the construction machine. The identification data can also include a key for encrypting the user commands, whereby the control unit can only correctly decrypt the user commands if the encryption corresponds to a machine-specific key stored in the control unit. This prevents the accidental operation of the wrong construction machine.

[0017] The function of the identification transmitter is initially independent of the function of the monitoring device, even if the combination of monitoring device and identification transmitter is indeed advantageous, as will become apparent from the following explanations. The present disclosure also discloses, in an example that is not part of the invention but serves to better understand the invention, a mobile construction machine according to the preamble of claim 1, in which only the identification transmitter with the design and functionality described in more detail above and below is provided, but not the monitoring device.

[0018] Preferably, the identification transmitter comprises a near-field communication (NFC) interface. In the simplest case, this near-field communication (NFC) interface is embodied as a transponder (NFC tag). The identification data of the construction machine is stored on this NFC tag. The identification data of the construction machine can be very easily transferred to the mobile input device via the near-field communication (NFC) interface. For this purpose, the mobile input device, which is also equipped with a near-field communication (NFC) interface, advantageously only needs to be positioned near the identification transmitter, so that the identification data of the construction machine is transferred to the mobile input device via the near-field communication (NFC) interface. This allows operation of the construction machine to be easily enabled based on the identification data for a mobile input device positioned near the identification transmitter. Alternatively, the identification transmitter can be designed as a QR code or barcode, which is read by the mobile input device and thus transmits the construction machine's identification data. Another option is to design the identification transmitter as an RFID chip, which transmits the construction machine's identification data to the mobile input device via an RFID reader on the mobile input device. The identification transmitter should always be permanently connected to the construction machine to prevent confusion.

[0019] Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which the NFC interface is designed to authenticate the mobile input device for connection to the communication interface. This further increases the level of security. In particular, it is ensured that only specific input devices assigned to pre-selected, authorized persons can be used to operate the construction machine. The NFC interface is preferably designed to use the active NFC mode. Thus, the identification transmitter can retrieve data from the input device via a read function in order to authenticate the mobile input device for connection to the communication interface. The control unit can be coupled to an identification transmitter designed in this way via a data connection. In this embodiment, the identification transmitter preferably also has its own power supply. The construction machine's control unit can enable certain operating functions based on the input device's data, while other functions, such as those used for maintenance, are only enabled for specific, predefined input devices. The input device's data can be made available via an application on the device. It would also be possible for the control unit to assign new identification data to the construction machine's NFC interface each time identification data from the construction machine is transferred.

[0020] The invention provides that one of the monitoring criteria is a time limit, in such a way that the stop function is triggered after a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the identification data was transferred and / or the stop function is triggered after no user commands have been entered via the mobile input device during a predetermined period of time. Thus, a stop function can be triggered via the time limit if a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the identification data was transferred from the identification transmitter to the mobile input device, or if no user commands have been entered during a predetermined period of time. The time limit can be designed such that the predetermined period of the time limit begins again after the identification data is transferred again or after a user command is entered via the mobile input device. This prevents user commands entered via an input device that the user hasn't used for a while from being accidentally converted into control signals for the construction machine's components. Furthermore, restarting the predetermined time period from the moment the identification data is transferred or the last user command is entered ensures simple and smooth operation of the construction machine via the connected mobile input device.

[0021] A particularly advantageous embodiment provides that the monitoring device is designed to monitor a light sensor and / or acceleration sensor and / or position sensor of the mobile input device, wherein the monitoring criterion specifies permissible value ranges for the sensor signals. In this way, a stop function can be triggered if the sensor signals of at least one sensor are not within the permissible value range. The light sensor can thus be used to detect, for example, whether the user has stowed the mobile input device in a pocket. The position sensor can be used to detect, for example, that the mobile input device is being worn on the user's body in a position that does not allow for reliable input of user commands, so that the stop function is triggered by the monitoring device.Based on the sensor signals from the acceleration sensor, it can be detected, for example, that the input device connected via the communication interface has fallen out of the user's hand. This allows the monitoring device to prevent the input of user commands or their conversion into control signals for the construction machine's components. The user's steps can also be counted. If a certain number of steps is exceeded, the stop function can be automatically activated to prevent the user from moving too far away from the machine (and thus from the emergency stop button installed on the machine) and, for example, losing safe visual contact with the machine.

[0022] An advantageous embodiment provides that the monitoring criterion specifies a maximum distance between the mobile input device and the construction machine or between the mobile input device and an emergency stop button arranged on the construction machine. By checking the distance between the connected input device and the construction machine or between the connected input device and an emergency stop button arranged on the construction machine, it can be ensured that the user is sufficiently close to the construction machine to operate the mobile construction machine via the mobile input device. If the distance to an emergency stop button is monitored by the monitoring device as a monitoring criterion, it is ensured that the user can press the nearby emergency stop button at any time in the event of imminent or occurring danger in order to put the construction machine into a safe state.

[0023] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the monitoring device is designed to monitor the distance using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and / or based on the signal strength of the data connection to the communication interface. Using these monitoring options, the monitoring device can very easily determine the distance between the mobile input device and the construction machine or between the mobile input device and an emergency stop button arranged on the construction machine, in order to trigger the stop function for at least one of these distances if a specified maximum is exceeded.

[0024] A particularly advantageous embodiment is one in which the communication interface provides a data connection to the mobile input device for transmitting entered user commands, in particular via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Via such a data connection, the entered user commands can be transmitted to the communication interface using standard technology available on any common mobile input device.

[0025] A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention provides for the mobile input device to be a smartphone or a tablet PC. Such an input device enables intuitive operation of the mobile construction machine, as it allows for access to operating concepts already familiar to the user from their private use of their smartphone or tablet PC. Advantageously, the mobile input device is a smartphone or tablet already used privately by the user, so they already carry it with them and are not dependent on another device to operate the mobile construction machine. The invention thus enables the implementation of a "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) concept.

[0026] Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for controlling a mobile construction machine according to claim 9.

[0027] As previously described, the mobile input device is monitored according to predefined monitoring criteria. A stop function is triggered depending on the monitoring result, i.e., depending on the recorded actual state of the mobile input device compared to the target state defined by the monitoring criteria. The construction machine's identification data is transferred to the mobile input device via an identification transmitter permanently installed on the construction machine. Operation of the construction machine is then enabled via the mobile input device by a control unit of the construction machine, depending on the identification data. One of the monitoring criteria provides for a time limit such that the stop function is triggered after a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the identification data was transferred and / or the stop function is triggered after no user commands have been entered via the mobile input device for a predetermined period of time. The stop function provides for at least partially preventing the control of the construction machine via the mobile input device, in particular at least partially blocking the input of user commands on the input device and / or communication of the user commands and / or conversion of the user commands into control signals, shutting down at least one function of the construction machine and / or triggering an emergency stop of the construction machine.

[0028] Further features, details, and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description and from the drawings, which show exemplary embodiments of the invention. Corresponding objects or elements are provided with the same reference numerals in all figures. They show: Figure 1: Construction machine according to the invention, Figure 2: Local control of the construction machine, Figure 3: Remote control of the construction machine, and Figure 4: Input device and holding device

[0029] In the Figure 1 Denoted by the reference numeral 1, a mobile construction machine according to the invention is shown. The construction machine 1 according to the Figure 1The embodiment shown is designed as a truck mixer 1. This has a driver's cab 10 and a chassis 11 and a mixing drum 12 mounted on the chassis 11 and rotatable via a drum drive 5. Fresh concrete can be transported to a construction site in this mixing drum 12. For this purpose, the concrete is conveyed into the rotating drum 12 via a hinged hopper 7. Once it has arrived at the construction site, the concrete can be unloaded via a pivoting chute 6 by a rotating movement of the mixing drum 12. In order to make the concrete flowable, truck mixers 1 are usually equipped with a plasticizer system that dispenses a liquid that, when added, does not change the mixing ratio of water and cement. For cleaning the mixing drum 12 and the pivoting chute 6 after the concrete has been emptied, the truck mixer 1 has a water tank 13 that usually holds 500 to 700 liters of water. The truck mixer 1 shown has at least one communication interface 2 (. Fig. 2 ) for communication with a mobile input device 3. Via this mobile input device 3, the user 14 can enter commands for operating the truck mixer 1. Furthermore, the specialist mixer 1 has a control unit 4 ( Fig. 2 ) for the implementation of the data entered via the input device 3 and transmitted via the communication interface 2 ( Fig. 2 ) communicated user commands into control signals for the individual machine components, for example the drum drive 5, the swivel chute 6, and the filling hopper 7 of the truck mixer 1. The truck mixer 1 has several identification transmitters 8 ( Fig. 3 ) for transferring identification data of the truck mixer 1 to the mobile input device 3. These identification transmitters 8 ( Fig. 3) are arranged in a preferred embodiment on brackets 15 which are attached to the truck mixer 1. In the embodiment according to Figure 1 Such a bracket 15 is provided on the truck mixer 1 in the driver's cab 10, and such a bracket 15 is also arranged in the area of the swivel chute 6 or on the rear part of the chassis 11. The brackets 15 can be permanently installed or detachably connected to the truck mixer 1 via a cable, in particular a spiral cable. Depending on the mounting location of the bracket 15 or the identification transmitter on the construction machine 1, different user commands for operating the construction machine 1 can be enabled. When attaching the bracket 15 used or the identification transmitter 8 used ( Fig. 3) in the driver's cab 10, for example, only the user commands required for driving can be enabled. Thus, control signals for the swivel chute 6 or the filling funnel 7 can be suppressed if the holder 15 in the driver's cab 10 or an identification transmitter 8 ( Fig. 3 ) in the driver's cab 10 was used to activate the mobile input device 3. When tapping, swiveling or dragging the mobile input device 3 over the identification transmitter at the rear of the truck mixer 1, the user 14 of the mobile input device 3 is in the field of vision of the danger zone of the filling hopper 7 and the swivel chute 6. Therefore, the control of the swivel chute 6 and the filling hopper 7 is preferably only released with a time limit if an identification transmitter 8 ( Fig. 3 ) at the rear of the truck mixer 1. When using NFC tags 8 ( Fig. 3) with different tokens, for example in the driver's cab 10 and in the rear area of the machine 1, the user commands on the mobile input device 3 are advantageously activated in a targeted manner, so that the user 14, for example, cannot open the swivel chute 6 after handing over the identification data from a tag 8 ( Fig. 3 ) from the driver's cab 10.

[0030] In Figure 2a holder 15 is shown in a detailed view. It can be seen that the holder 15, in addition to the identification transmitter 8, also advantageously has a communication interface 2 for communication with a mobile input device 3. The holder 15 shown here is connected to the control unit 4 of the truck mixer 1 via a data interface 16 and a data line 17. The data interface 16 can preferably be designed as a CAN bus converter and the data line 17 can be designed as a CAN bus system. CAN bus, or more precisely Controller Area Network data bus, represents a data bus commonly used today for control signals in trucks and mobile work machines. The control unit 4, which is preferably connected via this, is advantageously designed to enable operation of the construction machine 1 depending on the identification data that the truck mixer 1 transmits to the mobile input device 3.This identification data is advantageously first sent from the input device 3 via the communication interface 2 to the control unit 4 of the truck mixer 1. The control unit 4 compares the transmitted identification data with the output identification data and sends an enable signal to the input device 3, so that an application on the input device 3 makes all or at least the enabled functions accessible. Depending on the safety requirements, individual control signals can be deactivated when controlling via the communication interface 2.

[0031] A further possibility is that the mobile input device 3 is configured to enable the operation of the construction machine 1 depending on the transmitted identification data. For the transmission of the identification data, the identification transmitter 8 is preferably designed as a Near Field Communication (NFC) interface 8. In the Figure 2In the position shown, the mobile input device 3 is accommodated in the holder 15 of the truck mixer 1. In this position, the mobile input device 3 can receive the identification data of the construction machine 1 via a near-field communication (NFC) interface of the input device 3 by communicating this data via the near-field communication (NFC) interfaces. With the holder in the holder 15 of the truck mixer 1, the mobile input device 3 can be securely assigned to the mobile construction machine 1, since the NFC interface only has a limited range, thus preventing an accidental connection of the mobile input device 3 for communication via the communication interface 2.

[0032] In addition to accommodating the mobile input device 3 in the holder 15 of the truck mixer 1, it should also be possible to remotely control the construction machine 1 via the mobile input device 3. For this purpose, the mobile input device 3 advantageously only needs to be brushed past the identification transmitter 8 designed as an NFC interface or briefly held in front of it to transfer the identification data of the construction machine 1. The NFC interface 8 is preferably designed to authenticate the mobile input device 3 for connection to the communication interface 2. The identification transmitter 8 advantageously has a read function to retrieve data from the input device 3 and to authenticate the mobile input device 3 for connection to the communication interface 2. After transferring the identification data, the control unit 4 or the mobile input device 3 can enable operation of the construction machine 1 depending on the transferred identification data. The basic prerequisite for enabling operation on the input device 3 is that the identification data of the construction machine 1 has been transferred via the NFC interface 8. User commands entered by the user on the mobile input device 3 for operating the construction machine 1 and user commands communicated via the communication interface 2 can thus be converted by the control unit 4 into control signals for the machine components 5, 6, 7 of the construction machine 1. For example, the speed and direction of rotation of the mixing drum 12 can be changed by the user 14 via the mobile input device 3, since the inputs on the connected and enabled input device 3 are converted into control signals for the drum drive 12.Furthermore, the position of the filling hopper 7 or the pivoting chute 6 can be changed via user inputs on the input device 3, since the user commands are communicated via the communication interface 2 and converted by the control unit 4 into control signals for the filling hopper 7 or the pivoting chute 6 or into control signals for pivot drives coupled to the machine components 6, 7. The truck mixer 1 has a software-implemented monitoring device for monitoring the mobile input device 3. This monitoring device can trigger a stop function if at least one predetermined monitoring criterion is met. One of these monitoring criteria is advantageously a maximum distance between the mobile input device 3 and the construction machine 1, particularly preferably a maximum distance between the mobile input device 3 and an emergency stop button 9 arranged on the construction machine 1.Such an emergency stop button 9 is advantageously arranged on the holder 15 shown in the figures. In this way, when the mobile input device 3 is accommodated in the holder 15 provided for this purpose, the emergency stop button 9 is arranged directly next to the thus positioned input device 3 and can be triggered immediately to place the construction machine 1 in a safe state. With the cabling of the holder 15 via the data line 17, the emergency stop button 9 is also reliably connected to the control unit 4 in order to place the construction machine 1 in a safe state when activated in an emergency. All functions of a truck mixer 1 that could cause injury to a person, e.g., due to limbs being trapped, must be protected. These safety-relevant functions of a truck mixer 1 include, for example, the hydraulic chute adjustment or the operation of the foldable hopper 7.If the input device 3 is removed from the holder 15 in order to remotely control the construction machine 1, the machine 1 can also be put into a safe state via an application on the input device 3. If this application does not function, the emergency stop button 9 provided on the holder 15 must be within reach of the user 14, since the user interface of a smartphone or tablet is not suitable for safely actuating an emergency stop. Furthermore, the wireless connection via the communication interface 2 may not meet the regulations for safely transmitting an emergency stop signal. Therefore, the distance between the mobile input device 3 and the emergency stop button 9 arranged on the holder 15 is advantageously monitored using the Global Positioning System (GPS) and / or based on the signal strength of the data connection to the communication interface 2. The emergency stop button 9 does not necessarily have to be part of the holder 15.It can also be arranged separately in the immediate vicinity of the holder 15. List of reference symbols
