AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

In massive MIMO communications, the reporting quantities of spatial domain vectors and frequency domain vectors are not explicitly defined, leading to increased calculation and feedback overheads, which affects feedback precision and system performance.

Method used

A parameter configuration method that involves receiving a first mapping relationship to determine the reporting quantities of spatial domain vectors and frequency domain vectors, narrowing down their selection ranges, and using predefined combinations to reduce feedback overheads while ensuring different feedback precision requirements are met, by constructing precoding vectors with specific ratios of space-frequency vector pairs.

Benefits of technology

This method reduces calculation and feedback overheads, improves feedback precision, and enhances the performance of the communications system by explicitly defining the reporting quantities and using predefined combinations to optimize precoding vector construction.

Abstract

This application provides a parameter configuration method and a communications apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a terminal device, an indication of a first mapping relationship from a network device, where the first mapping relationship is a mapping relationship in a preconfigured first mapping relationship group, and the first mapping relationship group includes at least one mapping relationship, to indicate at least one correspondence between a reporting quantity of spatial domain vectors and a reporting quantity of frequency domain vectors; and determining, by the terminal device, the reporting quantity of spatial domain vectors and the reporting quantity of frequency domain vectors based on the first mapping relationship. Therefore, a plurality of possible correspondences between values of L and values of M are predefined, to narrow down selection ranges of the reporting quantities. This is conducive to reducing a calculation amount for determining the reporting quantities and indication overheads of the network device.
