Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a kit for a frame, in particular for a frame of an insect screen device, such as an insect screen door, insect screen window, or light well cover. To form an insect screen device, an insect screen net or mesh is attached to the frame, with which the opening created by the frame is or can be covered.
[0002] Such frames for insect screens typically have two parallel vertical frame members and two horizontal frame members connecting them, with the frame members joined at their ends by corner connectors. The components (corner connectors, frame members) are usually supplied to the end user as individual parts in a package, requiring assembly. For example, if the frame members are designed as one-piece profile strips, the end user must cut the profile strips to size to fit the window / door. To facilitate length adjustment, it is also known to design the frame members from at least one inner profile strip and at least one outer profile strip that are telescopically extendable relative to each other.
[0003] The corner connector parts of such kits have insertion sections arranged at right angles to each other, which the end user must insert into a profile strip. In this case, there is only a frictional connection between the insertion section of the corner connector and the profile strip in the insertion direction, so the assembled frame may have low stability. Furthermore, after assembly, a corner section of the corner connector is visible between the insertion sections.
[0004] To provide a more aesthetically pleasing and also more stable frame, DE 10 2015 116 588 B4 proposes pre-assembling the inner and outer profile strips in pairs using a corner connector and supplying the pre-assembled profile strip pairs as a kit. Since the corner connectors are also secured to the profile strips by a positive fit in the insertion direction, greater stability is achieved. Furthermore, the profile strips have a miter cut at the end of the corner connector, so that the profile strips of a profile strip pair lie against each other with their miter cuts aligned. However, the packaging of such a kit has a comparatively large volume due to the right-angled arrangement of the pre-assembled profile strip pairs.
[0005] The kits for frames known from the prior art therefore either have a large number of parts to be assembled by the end user or a relatively large package.
[0006] From US 4,279,288, a frame is known in which two profile strips of a frame assembly are connected to each other via a hinge. The frame comprises three frame assemblies with a hinge and two separately mounted profile strips. From DE 10 2015 117 643 A1, a frame that can be assembled from many individual parts is known.
[0007] The object of the present invention is therefore to eliminate the disadvantages described with reference to the prior art and in particular to provide a kit for a frame that is easier for the end user to assemble and whose packaging has the smallest possible volume.
[0008] The problem is solved by a kit with the features of the respective independent claims 1 and 3. Advantageous further developments of the kit are given in the dependent claims and in the description, whereby individual features of the advantageous further developments can be combined with each other in a technically meaningful way.
[0009] The problem is solved in particular by a kit for a frame, preferably for a frame of an insect screen device, with at least two frame assemblies, wherein each frame assembly comprises at least one, preferably at least two or exactly two profile strip(s) (such as inner profile strip and / or outer profile strip) and at least one corner connector part arranged on each profile strip, wherein the profile strips and the corner connector parts of the frame assembly are designed such that the profile strips of all frame assemblies are arranged or can be arranged parallel to each other in a starting position and the frame assemblies can be plugged together to form a rectangular frame in which two profile strips are arranged telescopically to each other.
[0010] The invention, in its basic concept, therefore provides that the kit comprises, in particular, an even number of (pre-assembled) frame assemblies, each frame assembly having, in particular, exactly two inner and / or outer profile strips (namely: each frame assembly has either one inner profile strip and one outer profile strip, two inner profile strips, or two outer profile strips) or exactly four inner and / or outer profile strips (namely: each frame assembly has two inner profile strips and two outer profile strips). A corner connector is also arranged on each profile strip of the frame assembly, the corner connector preferably being connected to the profile strip as a pre-assembled part by means of a force-fit and / or form-fit connection.
[0011] It is therefore intended that the corner connector, which connects the profile strips arranged at right angles to each other in the final assembled state, consists of at least two parts (corner connector parts). As explained further below, the two corner connector parts are designed so that they can be inserted into one another or are pivotally connected to each other, forming a kind of hinge.
[0012] The profile strips of all frame assemblies can therefore initially be arranged parallel to each other (aligned or offset), so that the pre-assembled frame assemblies can be arranged in a space-saving manner in packaging.
[0013] For final assembly of the frame, the frame modules are joined together, whereby the corner connector parts of different frame modules are inserted into one another, or inner and outer profile strips of different frame modules are aligned telescopically relative to each other, whereby an inner profile strip of a first frame module is inserted / slid into the outer profile strip of a second frame module. In the second case, it is also necessary that the profile strips of a frame module, which are connected by two corner connector parts arranged to pivot relative to each other, are first pivoted at a right angle.
[0014] In addition to the pre-assembled frame assemblies, the kit may include further internal and / or external profile strips, via which the profile strips of different frame assemblies are telescopically connected to each other during assembly.
[0015] Once the kit is assembled into a frame, its size can be easily adjusted by telescopically sliding the inner and outer profile strips of the frame struts relative to each other. When the frame is the desired size, it can be secured using suitable means (screws, insect screens, fixing strips).
[0016] The inventive kit for a frame therefore not only has a very small number of frame assemblies to be assembled by the end user, but also a very small volume in the initial position.
[0017] The frame assemblies may each have two profile strips that are pivotably arranged relative to each other, so that the two profile strips of the frame assembly are parallel (aligned or offset) to each other in the initial position and can be pivoted into a perpendicular position before being joined together. In particular, it is provided that a corner connector is arranged on each profile strip, allowing the profile strips to pivot relative to each other. For this purpose, a pivot axis is formed between the two corner connectors, around which the profile strips can be pivoted relative to each other. The at least one pivot axis can be arranged such that the profile strips are positioned next to each other in the initial position.Alternatively, the pivot axis can be arranged so that the profile strips are aligned with each other, in which case the frame assembly has a greater length in the starting position.
[0018] According to a further aspect of the invention, the kit comprises exactly four frame assemblies, each of whose two profile strips are pivotable relative to one another, wherein the profile strips are designed as inner profile strips and / or outer profile strips, and wherein, in the right-angled position, the inner profile strip of a first frame assembly can be inserted into the outer profile strip of a second frame assembly. The inner profile strip and the outer profile strip are thus matched in their outer and inner contours, respectively, so that they can be inserted into one another and moved / slide telescopically relative to each other.
[0019] It is also preferred that the two profile strips of a frame assembly, which are pivotably arranged relative to each other, are pivotable about at least one pivot axis, wherein the pivot axes of all frame assemblies having a pivot axis are aligned parallel and, in particular, orthogonal to the plane spanned by the rectangular frame in the final assembly position. The profile strips of the frame assemblies are therefore all pivotable in a plane spanned by the later frame.
[0020] Preferably, the two profile strips are secured in the right-angled position by a fixing mechanism. This fixing mechanism acts particularly on the corner connector parts of the frame assemblies, which are designed to pivot relative to each other. The corner connector parts can be fixed in their right-angled position, for example, by an external fixing element such as a screw, pin, or cover cap.
[0021] Preferably, however, the corner connector parts themselves are designed in such a way that they are fixed in the right-angled position. For this purpose, the corner connector parts can be designed to form a snap-fit or locking connection. For example, one corner connector part has a spring-loaded, deflectable element that is deflected when the corner connector parts are pivoted and engages in a corresponding locking receptacle on the other corner connector part when it is in the right-angled position.
[0022] According to one aspect of the invention, a first corner connector part of a first frame assembly and a second corner connector part of a second frame assembly are designed to be compatible such that the first corner connector part can be inserted into the second corner connector part. For this purpose, the second corner connector part has, for example, a receptacle whose inner contour is designed such that the first corner connector part can be inserted into the second corner connector part. The corner connector, which connects the two profile strips arranged at right angles to each other in a corner when assembled, thus consists of two components (corner connector parts) that are only inserted into each other during assembly by the end user.
[0023] In this context, the connection between the first corner connector of the first frame assembly and the second corner connector of the second frame assembly can be secured by a fixing mechanism. This can be achieved, in particular, by an external fixing element such as a screw, pin, or cover cap. However, it is preferred that the fixing mechanism be a snap-fit or locking connection formed on the first and second corner connectors. For this purpose, the first or second corner connector has a locking element that is deflected elastically (resiliently) when the connectors are plugged together and, in the assembled position, engages in a corresponding locking receptacle on the other corner connector.
[0024] In a preferred embodiment, the kit comprises exactly four frame assemblies, each with a corner connector at both ends designed to create a plug-in connection. Each frame assembly includes, in particular, an inner profile strip and an outer profile strip, which are telescopically inserted into one another (and thus parallel to each other) in their initial position.
[0025] To further reduce the number of frame assemblies, the profile strips, or pairs of profile strips, can be arranged to pivot relative to each other and each have a corner connector at its free end (in its initial position). These corner connectors are designed to form a plug-in connection with the corner connectors of the other frame assembly. In this case, a pair of profile strips, consisting of an inner and an outer profile strip, is pivotally connected to another pair of profile strips, also consisting of an inner and an outer profile strip, via a corner connector. Corner connectors are provided at the free ends (those opposite the pivotally designed corner connectors) to form a plug-in connection. This kit therefore comprises exactly two frame assemblies for forming a rectangular frame.
[0026] If the pre-assembled frame assembly includes a corner connector part inserted into a profile strip, then, according to one aspect of the invention, the corner connector part is inserted into the profile strip by means of an insertion section. In this context, the corner connector part is particularly designed such that the section of the corner connector part projecting beyond the end of the profile strip does not protrude more than a few millimeters beyond the outer contour of the profile strip. This allows for a particularly compact arrangement of the frame assemblies in the initial position.
[0027] The kit is offered in particular in packaging in which the frame assemblies are arranged, with the profile strips of all frame assemblies arranged parallel to each other when the kit is in the packaging.
[0028] Furthermore, a frame is proposed, assembled from a previously described kit. The frame is specifically designed for the construction of an insect screen, for which an insect screen net / mesh included in the kit (optionally pleated) can be attached. For example, the insect screen can be designed for a window, in which case the assembled frame has four frame members (two vertical and two horizontal). Alternatively, the frame can be designed for a door, in which case, in addition to the outer frame members, the assembled frame has a central member that, when assembled, is horizontally oriented and connects the side frame members of the insect screen door, with a central connector linking the outer frame members to the central frame member. In this case, the central frame strut can be connected to the other frame struts via corresponding corner connectors. To form the central strut, a central connector can consist of three corner connectors, which may be pivotable relative to each other, so that a frame assembly containing the profile strips of the central strut has three profile strips (two profile strips for the outer frame strut and one profile strip for the central frame strut). Alternatively, the corner connectors for forming the central connector can be designed such that three corner connectors from different frame assemblies, each arranged on a single profile strip, can be joined together.
[0029] The invention and its technical context are explained below using the figures as examples. They show schematic representations. Figure 1: a first kit for a first frame, Figure 2: a frame assembly of the first kit during pivoting from a starting position, Figure 3: the four frame assemblies of the first kit with profile strips arranged at right angles to each other, Figure 4: a first frame assembled from the first kit, Figure 5: a second kit for a second frame, Figure 6: four frame assemblies of the second kit before assembly, Figure 7: a second frame assembled from the second kit, Figure 8: a third kit for a third frame, Figure 9: a frame assembly of the third kit during pivoting from the starting position, Figure 10: the two frame assemblies of the third kit, and Figure 11: a third frame assembled from the third kit.
[0030] Figure 1Figure 1a shows a first kit 1a with four identical, pre-assembled frame assemblies 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4. Each frame assembly 3.1 to 3.4 has an outer profile strip 4.1 into which a first corner connector part 5.1 is inserted with a (not visible in the figures) insertion section. The first corner connector part 5.1 is connected via a pivot axis 6 to a second corner connector part 5.2, the second corner connector part 5.2 being inserted with a (not visible in the figures) insertion section into an inner profile strip 4.2. Figure 1 The frame assemblies 3.1 to 3.4 are shown in their initial position, in which the outer profile strip 4.1 and the inner profile strip 4.2 are arranged parallel to each other and offset from each other.
[0031] In Figure 2The figure shows how the outer profile strip 4.1 is pivoted about the pivot axis 6 relative to the inner profile strip 4.2 until the outer profile strip 4.1 and the inner profile strip 4.2 are arranged at a right angle to each other. In this right-angled orientation, a locking connection 7 is formed between the first corner connector part 5.1 and the second corner connector part 5.2, thus preventing accidental pivoting back.
[0032] As from the Figures 3 and 4 As can be seen, the frame assemblies 3.1 to 3.4 of the first kit 1a can be arranged in their respective swung-out positions relative to each other so that the inner profile strip 4.2 of the first frame assembly 3.1 can be inserted into the outer profile strip 4.1 of the second frame assembly 3.2. The correspondingly assembled first frame 2a is in Figure 4The frame 2a can be easily resized due to the telescopic nature of the outer profile strips 4.1 and inner profile strips 4.2.
[0033] In Figure 5 A second kit 1b is shown, comprising four identical, pre-assembled frame assemblies 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4. Each frame assembly 3.1 to 3.4 includes an outer profile strip 4.1 and an inner profile strip 4.2 (see also Figure 7 A first corner connector 5.3 is inserted into the outer profile strip 4.1, while a second corner connector 5.4 is inserted into the inner profile strip 4.2. The first corner connector 5.3 and the second corner connector 5.4 are geometrically designed to fit together so that the first corner connector 5.3 can be inserted into the second corner connector 5.4, ensuring that the profile strips 4.1 and 4.2 of the different frame assemblies are arranged at a right angle to each other.
[0034] In Figure 6 A corresponding arrangement of the frame assemblies 3.1 to 3.4 of the second kit 1b is shown. As seen in conjunction with Figure 7 As can be seen, the second frame 2b, which is joined together via the corner connector parts 5.3 and 5.4, can easily be changed in size due to the telescopic nature of the outer profile strips 4.1 and inner profile strips 4.2.
[0035] In Figure 8 A third kit 1c for a third frame 2c is shown. The third kit 1c comprises two identical, pre-assembled frame assemblies 3.1 and 3.2. As can be seen in particular from a comparison with Figure 11As can be seen, each frame assembly 3.1 and 3.2 has a first corner connector 5.3, which is inserted into an inner profile strip 4.4, the inner profile strip 4.4 itself being inserted into a first outer profile strip 4.1. A corner connector part 5.1 is inserted into the first outer profile strip 4.1 and is pivotally connected to a corner connector part 5.2 via a pivot axis 6. The corner connector part 5.2 is in turn inserted into an inner profile strip 4.2. A second outer profile strip 4.3 is slid onto the inner profile strip 4.2, into which a second corner connector part 5.4 is inserted.
[0036] As especially from Figure 9 As can be seen, the profile strips of the frame assemblies can be made from the in Figure 8 The starting position shown, in which the profile strips are arranged parallel to each other, is pivoted about the pivot axis 6 until the in Figure 9The right-angled position shown is reached. In this right-angled position, a locking connection 7 is formed between the corner connector part 5.1 and the corner connector part 5.2, so that unintentional swiveling back is prevented.
[0037] Once both frame assemblies 3.1 and 3.2 have been pivoted into the right-angled position, they can be aligned with each other as shown in Figure 10 This is shown. From this position, the first corner connector part 5.3 of the second frame assembly 3.2 can be inserted into the second corner connector part 5.4 of the first frame assembly 3.1, while the first corner connector part 5.3 of the first frame assembly 3.1 can be inserted into the second corner connector part 5.4 of the second frame assembly 3.2. The connection between the first corner connector part 5.3 and the second corner connector part 5.4 is also secured against unintentional loosening by means of a snap-fit connection 7.
[0038] Due to the telescopic nature of the outer profile strips 4.1 and 4.3 to the inner profile strips 4.2 and 4.4, the in Figure 11 The third frame shown, 2c, can simply be resized. Reference symbol list
