Description

FIELD OF INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to presentation devices enabling the user of a vehicle to easily show and hold a card-sized document through a window, in particular a driving licence or a standard format badge or VTC TAXI card, or a card for people with reduced mobility, which must be affixed to the windshield.

[0002] The present invention aims to provide a device that allows the card to be placed or removed quickly from the glass. PREVIOUS STATE OF THE ART

[0003] Numerous devices allow for displaying information, but none provide information in relation to a vehicle's environment or offer easy card replacement. Document KR 200 457 801 Y1 is considered the closest prior art to the subject matter of the invention. Other relevant documents are EP 3 477 621 A1 and KR 200 460 500 Y1. To ensure the card is held securely against a support, devices known, for example, from document EP3363008, include a complete frame surrounding the card and obstructing the view through the windshield, even when the card is not displayed. Furthermore, known devices suffer from not allowing both rapid card replacement, which the driver sometimes needs to perform quickly, and sufficient windshield clearance for maximum visibility of the roadway.

[0004] We know of devices that have a magnetic clip for document attachment, allowing a document to be locked against a vehicle window.

[0005] These devices have the major drawback of subjecting the document to a significant magnetic field, thus risking the demagnetization of any element such as a magnetic stripe or a smart card chip.

[0006] These devices are also not easy to use and often obscure at least some of the information in the document to be presented.

[0007] The present invention remedies these drawbacks.

[0008] The invention relates to a device for supporting and displaying documents for affixing to a vehicle window

[0009] The invention is defined in claim 1.

[0010] Advantageously, the invention offers a presentation device capable of combining the advantages of speed of installation and retrieval of the document to be presented, simplicity and reliability of implementation, and this while minimizing the visual impact for the driver as well as the demagnetization of the document to be presented.

[0011] According to a first embodiment of the invention, the insertion end forms a protrusion smaller than the rest of the support, and configured to be inserted into the gap between the vehicle window and at least part of the passenger compartment.

[0012] In practice, the protrusion has a thickness of between one and three millimeters.

[0013] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the magnets are provided on at least two perpendicular sides of the card holder.

[0014] According to another particular embodiment of the invention, the card holder comprises a solid surface on at least one of its faces and a hollowed-out surface on its opposite face, said opposite face comprising guide edges suitable for holding the document inserted in said card holder.

[0015] In practice, at least one face of the support module includes adhesive means capable of locking the position of said support module.

[0016] As an example, the card holder has at least two magnets placed on its side at the insertion end.

[0017] According to an embodiment according to the invention, the groove of the support module has a thickness less than or equal to four millimeters.

[0018] As an example, the card holder has six magnets arranged, regularly spaced, on its side at the insertion end.

[0019] Surprisingly, the device according to the invention allows the presentation of a document through the window of a vehicle without any information being obscured, the document and its card holder being able to be easily removed from the device installed by the user while ensuring that the latter remains in the presentation position against the window of the vehicle in the event of vehicle movements, air circulation and other movement which could potentially have an effect on the dislodging of the card holder. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0021] With reference to figures 1 à 7 ,The document support and presentation device 100 for affixing to a vehicle window 4 according to the invention comprises a bipartite structure consisting of a support module 2 configured to be permanently fixed in a gap 6 formed by the end of a vehicle window 4 and an adjacent part of the vehicle passenger compartment 5 and suitable for receiving a presentation module 3, said presentation module 3 being configured to be inserted and magnetically attached in a removable manner to the support module 2, and suitable for presenting a document 100.

[0022] The support module 2 includes an insertion end 21, configured to be inserted into the gap 6 formed by the vehicle window 4 and the passenger compartment 5, and a groove 22 provided on the face opposite the insertion end 21, suitable for receiving at least part of the presentation module 3.

[0023] The insertion end 21 of the support module includes a structure having at least two faces intended to be in contact respectively with the passenger compartment of the vehicle 5, and the vehicle window 4, the two contact faces being spaced apart by a length chosen to correspond to the exact size of the gap 6 of the vehicle.

[0024] In practice, the thickness of vehicle gaps is standardized, with older vehicle models having a thickness between 1 mm and 2 mm, and newer models having a thickness between 2 mm and 4 mm.

[0025] With reference to figures 2 à 4 , According to a first embodiment of the invention, the insertion end 21 of the support module 2 is formed by a parallelepiped or quasi-parallelepiped structure, of variable height, and of thickness between 3 mm and 4 mm.

[0026] With reference to figures 5 à 7 ,According to a second embodiment of the invention, the insertion end 21 of the support module 2 is formed by a parallelepiped or quasi-parallelepiped structure further having an elongation forming a protuberance 24, of a thickness less than the rest of the support module, said protuberance 24 having a thickness between 1 mm and 3 mm, thus allowing insertion of the support module 2 into the gap 6 independently of the thickness of said gap 6.

[0027] Such precision in the width of the insertion end 21 makes it possible to eliminate any possible form of play in the event of vibrations or forces exerted which could potentially dislodge the insertion end 21.

[0028] According to a particular embodiment according to the invention, at least one of the two contact faces of the insertion end 21 with the gap 6 has adhesive means for locking the position of the support module 2.

[0029] Adhesives include, but are not limited to, the group consisting of glue, fixing paste, and double-sided adhesive tape.

[0030] The support module 2 further includes a groove 22 formed on the face opposite the insertion end 21.

[0031] In practice, when the support module 2 is inserted and locked into the gap 6, the depression formed by the groove 22 and the vehicle window 4 forms a notch configured to receive the presentation module 3.

[0032] Advantageously, such a structure makes it possible to hold the presentation module 3 against the vehicle window 4, and thus ensure that the presentation module is locked in position while allowing said document 100 to be visible through the window 4.

[0033] As an example, groove 22 has chosen dimensions, including a thickness identical or almost identical to the thickness of presentation module 3 of document 100, in order to minimize the gap between support modules 2 and presentation module 3.

[0034] In practice, groove 22 of support module 2 has a thickness of less than or equal to 4 mm.

[0035] In the groove 22 there is also a metallic plate 23 made of a ferromagnetic material, suitable for allowing the magnetic attachment of a magnet-type material.

[0036] The device 1 according to the invention further comprises a presentation module 3, configured to be inserted into the groove 22 of the support module 2 and to be removably fixed thereto, and suitable for holding a document 100 to be presented.

[0037] Presentation module 3 includes a card holder 31 made of transparent material, configured to accommodate a document of chosen size.

[0038] As a non-limiting example, the material of card holder 31 belongs to the group formed by: plastic, glass, epoxy, resin.

[0039] A document 100 is defined as any document suitable for being displayed visibly on the vehicle.

[0040] For example, but not limited to, the document belongs to the group formed by identification document, security pass, credit card, official civil document, driver's license, magnetic parking access badge, company badge or any other similar document.

[0041] By way of non-limiting example, according to a particular embodiment of the invention, document 100 includes credit card-type dimensions (ISO 7810 standard ID-1 format).

[0042] The card holder 31 according to the invention comprises a transparent plastic body suitable for keeping visible any information contained in the document 100, an opening allowing the insertion of said document 100, and at least one fixing side 32 configured to be inserted into the groove 22 of the support module 2.

[0043] The card holder 31 includes at least one transparent face intended to be affixed to the vehicle window.

[0044] According to a first embodiment of the invention, the card holder 31 comprises two solid transparent faces.

[0045] According to an alternative embodiment, the card holder 31 has a transparent solid surface intended to be affixed to the vehicle window, and a hollow surface configured to face the user, and comprising guide edges 311 forming a longitudinal rail extending orthogonally and capable of locking the document 100 in said card holder 31.

[0046] Advantageously, the card holder can be turned around to present the information from both sides of document 100 through the vehicle window 4 while protecting it.

[0047] The side 32 of the card holder is equipped with at least one magnet 33 provided in the structure of said side 32 of fixing, capable of magnetically locking the fixing of the presentation module 3 in the support module 2.

[0048] According to a first embodiment of the invention, the side 32 of the card holder 31 has at least two magnets 33 provided on its side at the insertion end.

[0049] In practice, the magnet(s) 33 have chosen dimensions.

[0050] As an example, the 33 magnets have a diameter less than or equal to two millimeters.

[0051] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the side 32 has a succession of 6 to 12 magnets 33 regularly spaced along the fixing side 32.

[0052] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the side 32 has six magnets 33 regularly spaced along the fixing side 32.

[0053] According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, at least two perpendicular sides 32 of the card holder 31 have at least one magnet.

[0054] Surprisingly, the magnets 33 can therefore lock the position of the presentation module 3 in the support module 2 in apposition to the vehicle window, while maintaining the removability of the presentation module 3, and minimizing the magnetic field applied by said magnets around the document 100, and thus protecting any document 100 sensitive to magnetic fields from demagnetization.

[0055] With reference to figures 8 à 11 , The support module 2 is inserted into the gap 6 of the vehicle. Once inserted, its position is permanently locked.

[0056] Once the document 100 is inserted into the card holder 31 of the presentation module 3, it is configured to be inserted into the notch formed by the vehicle window 4 and the groove 22 of the support module 2, of dimensions substantially identical to the card holder 31, thus minimizing the possible play between the elements, then magnetically locked by the contact of the magnets 33 with the plate 23.

[0057] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the card holder includes at least one lug (not shown) configured to hold the document 100 in place in the card holder 31.

[0058] In practice, the lug(s) can be made by stamping or punching the wall(s) of the card holder 31.

[0059] According to one embodiment of the invention, the card holder 31 does not cover the entirety of at least one face of the document 100, and has a recess forming a notch to be unclipped, into which the user can insert his finger to come into contact with said document 100 and thus simply remove it from the card holder 31 by sliding.

[0060] The device thus described also allows the user to easily install and remove the presentation module 3, and to return it as needed, quickly and efficiently while eliminating any damage caused by insertion and removal in the gap 6 of existing systems.

[0061] In addition, the ease of locking and unlocking the presentation module 3 allows the user to perform these actions without lifting their back from the seat.

[0062] Advantageously, the combination of a physical fixing in the groove 22 and the magnetic fixing makes it possible to hold the presentation module 3 against the vehicle window 4, while absorbing any movement or vibrations which would have the effect of dislodging said presentation module 3 from the support module 2, thus preventing any movement of the latter relative to the support module 2.

[0063] Finally, such a device 1 also allows the user to remove and carry their document in their card holder without having to repeat the insertion steps in the card holder 31.
