Description
[0001] The invention relates to a furniture module, in particular an upholstered furniture module with an upholstered body supported on a base frame, in which the base frame is formed by metal profiles, each having an undercut groove, and in which a fastening element with a profile anchor is detachably anchored in the groove.
[0002] Modular upholstered furniture is a common design, with each module featuring a wooden base frame. The upholstered sections of the various modules have different, mostly cuboid, shapes and can form a seat, backrest, or armrest, depending on their design. Connecting clips ensure that the adjacent modules are held firmly together by gripping and securing parts of the base frames or legs of the two modules.
[0003] A furniture module of the type mentioned above is known from DE 20 2016 003 638 U1.
[0004] The purpose of the invention is to create a higher-quality and more versatile modular furniture system.
[0005] This problem is solved according to the invention by fixing a connecting bracket to the foot frame with the aid of the fastening element and by designing it to connect the foot frames of the module and of another upholstered furniture module to each other in a form-fitting manner.
[0006] Because the base frame is formed from metal profiles, greater stability, improved dimensional accuracy, and, in particular, increased weather resistance are achieved, allowing the upholstered furniture to be used outdoors. The undercut grooves in the metal profiles enable the secure and stable attachment of fasteners at any point along the profile. These fasteners can be designed as connectors that join the base frames of two modules, replacing conventional connecting clips.

[0012] In Fig. 1 A partial section shows an upholstered furniture module 10, which has a rectangular base frame 12 on which an upholstered body 16, which can have an overall cuboid shape, is supported by a slatted frame 14. The base frame 12 is formed by four metal profiles 18 connected to each other at the corners, of which in Fig. 1 One is shown in cross-section and another in an interior view. The metal profiles 18, for example, could be extruded profiles made of aluminum or light metal.
[0013] In the example shown, the metal profiles 18 have a rectangular outer wall 20 in cross-section, which surrounds two parallel core profiles 22 with a square cross-section. The core profiles 22 are each connected to the outer wall 20 via four diagonal webs 24. Four of these eight webs 24 extend to the corners of the outer wall 20.
[0014] The metal profile 18 forms a total of six undercut grooves 26, two of which are located in the longer vertical side wall of the profile and one in each of the narrower horizontal walls. Each of these undercut grooves 26 has a trapezoidal cross-section, which is bounded by two of the webs 24 and is open via a slot 28 in the outer wall 20.
[0015] A foot 30 of the module is attached to the underside of the metal profile 18 shown in section by a fastening element 32. The fastening element 32 has a profile anchor 34 which is received in the undercut groove 26 therein. A threaded bolt 36 extends from the profile anchor 34 through the slot 28 and a bore in the foot 30, which is fixed to the threaded bolt by a nut 38. When the nut 38 is tightened, the profile anchor 34 is clamped against the outer wall 20 of the metal profile.
[0016] Into the lower of the two undercut grooves 26 formed in the outer side of the foot frame 12 (right in Fig. 1 A clamping strip 40 made of an elastic plastic is clipped into the undercut groove, engaging with a profile anchor 42. The clamping strip 40 clamps the lower edge of a cover 44 of the upholstered furniture module to the base frame 12. The cover 44 extends downwards over the underside of the upholstered body 16, similar to a slipcover, and thus also covers the slatted frame 14 and the base frame 12. Preferably, the cover 44 is made of a weather-resistant fabric, and the seams of the cover are finished with expanding thread, creating a waterproof enclosure for the upholstered furniture module.

The previously described fastening element 32 serves in this case to rigidly, yet detachably, attach the connecting bracket 50 to the metal profile 18 of module 10. The horizontally projecting part of the fastening bracket 50 from this module forms a U-shaped recess into which the metal profile 18 of module 10' is inserted from above. This prevents the two modules 10 and 10' from being pulled apart, but module 10' can be easily detached from the fastening bracket by lifting it slightly.
[0020] Fig. 3 Figure 1 shows a fastening element 52 in the form of a holder for a table leg 54. In this example, the profile anchor 34 is formed in one piece with an arm 56 of the fastening element 52. During assembly, the profile anchor 34 and the arm 56 are inserted into the undercut groove 26 from one end of the metal profile 18.
[0021] At its outer end, the arm 56 is connected by a joint 58 to a cup-shaped receptacle 60 for the table leg. The arm 56 is shaped to rest on the floor and absorb the force exerted by the table leg 54. The joint 58 allows the inclination of the receptacle 60 to be adjusted to the respective inclination of the table leg 54. By axially sliding the arm 56 with the profile anchor 34 in the groove 26, the distance between two fastening elements 52 can be adjusted to the distance between two table legs 54 of a table. The two fastening elements 52 can be arranged on the same upholstered furniture module or on two different modules.
[0022] Fig. 4 Figure 1 shows a fastening element 62, which is designed as a parasol stand for the base 64 of a parasol. This fastening element has an arm 56' which is attached to the arm 56 in Fig. 3 The arm 56' corresponds and is held in the undercut groove 26 in the same manner by means of a profile anchor 34. The other end of the arm 56' rests on the ground and is connected in one piece to a cup-shaped receptacle 66 for the base 64 of the parasol.

[0024] Fig. 5Figure 1 shows a fastening element 68 with a bolt-like part 70, which is formed in one piece with the profile anchor 34 and protrudes from the slot of the metal profile 18. Outside the metal profile, the part 70 has an eye 72 by which the fastening element is permanently held on a cable 74 of an anti-theft device 76, which can be, for example, a bicycle lock. The cable 74 also runs through a ring 78 of a ground anchor 80 firmly fixed in the ground, so that the upholstered furniture module is secured against theft.
Claims
1. A furniture module (10; 10') having an upholstered body (16) supported on a base frame (12), wherein the base frame (12) is formed by metal profiles (18) each having an undercut groove (26), and wherein a fastening element (32; 40; 46; 52; 62; 68) is detachably anchored in the groove (26) with a profile anchor (34; 42), characterized in that a connecting bracket (50) is fixed to the base frame (12) with the aid of the fastening element (32) and is designed to connect the base frames (12) of the module (10) and another upholstered furniture module (10') to each other in a form-fitting manner.
2. The module according to claim 1, wherein a foot (30) is attached to the base frame (12) with the aid of one of several fastening elements.
3. The module according to claim 1 or 2, wherein one of several fastening elements is a clamping strip (40) with which an edge of a cover (44) of the upholstered body (16) is fixed to the base frame (12).
4. The module according to claim 3, wherein the clamping strip (40) has a profile anchor (42) in the form of a self-elastic, profile section that is continuous or interrupted in the longitudinal direction and which can be locked into the undercut groove (26) along its entire length.
5. The module according to one of the preceding claims, in which one of several fastening elements is part of a corner connector that holds two metal profiles (18) of the base frame (12) together.
6. The module according to claim 5, wherein the connecting bracket (50) forms a receptacle into which a leg of the base frame (12) of the further furniture module (10') can be inserted from above.
7. The module according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein one of several fastening elements is a holder for a table leg (54).

12. The module according to any one of claims 1 to 10, wherein the profile anchor (34) is rigidly connected to a threaded bolt (36) which protrudes from the undercut groove (26), and wherein the fastening element (32) has a nut which can be screwed onto the threaded bolt (36).
13. The module according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein the profile anchor (34) has a threaded bore and the fastening element (46) has a screw (48) that can be screwed into the threaded bore.
14. An upholstered pies of furniture with at least one module according to any one of the preceding claims.
