Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a packaging comprising a packaging base body, wherein the packaging base body defines an interior space for storing bulk material. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing such a packaging.
[0002] Packaging for storing bulk materials such as cement, sand, lime, granulate or the like is often in the form of bags or valve bags that are filled with, for example, 25 kg or 50 kg of the bulk material in question.
[0003] These filled bags are often unwieldy because their smooth surfaces offer no points of contact that would facilitate manual handling. This leads to workers hammering hooks into these filled bags to pull the bags from a pallet or the back of a vehicle, or dragging a bag across the ground for a long distance. Documents WO2004 / 037663A1, WO2013 / 039536A1, FR1536422, and EP3498624 disclose prior art bags.
[0004] The hooks locally destroy the packaging body, causing some of the bulk material to escape. Furthermore, the packaging body can tear open over a large area when handled with the hooks, causing a large portion of the bulk material to escape and potentially become unusable. The escaping bulk material can also pose health risks to the worker and cause environmental damage.
[0005] Against this background, the invention is based on the technical problem of providing a package that allows for improved manual handling when filled. Furthermore, a method for producing such a package is to be provided.
[0006] The technical problem described above is solved by a packaging according to claim 1 and a method according to claim 9.
[0007] Further embodiments of the invention emerge from the dependent claims and the following description.
[0008] According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a package according to claim 1, comprising a packaging base body, wherein the packaging base body defines an interior space for storing bulk material. The package has at least one tab, wherein the tab extends in a cantilevered manner from an outer side of the packaging base body facing away from the interior space, and wherein the tab has a through-opening for inserting a hook.
[0009] The tab improves the manual handling of the packaging when filled with bulk material. On the one hand, the tab can be used to pull or grasp the packaging by hand without the need for tools. On the other hand, a tool, such as a hook or similar tool, can be inserted into the tab's through-hole to move the packaging using the tool.
[0010] The opening in the flap therefore provides a defined point of engagement for the attachment of a tool, such as a hook or the like. Improper transport of a package filled with bulk material, such as by driving a hook into the packaging body, can therefore be avoided. This prevents the packaging body from being destroyed and bulk material from escaping from the interior.
[0011] When we refer to a tab in this case, it specifically has a free end that is not attached to the main body of the packaging. A tab is therefore not a loop or carrying strap, which are usually attached to the respective object being transported at two ends.
[0012] In particular, the tab is a pliable, flexible band.
[0013] The tab can extend freely projecting from the outside of the packaging body and can project laterally beyond an envelope of the interior of the packaging body when filled with bulk material.
[0014] To provide a particularly structurally robust flap, the flap can be designed in two or more layers. For example, the flap can be formed from a strip-shaped band material that is folded two or more times or is layered in two or more layers in the manner of a sandwich material.
[0015] Alternatively or additionally, the structure of the tab can be reinforced by assigning at least one stiffening element to the through-opening of the tab, wherein the stiffening element encloses the through-opening at least in sections. For example, the stiffening element can be an eyelet or a ring made of a plastic, rubber, or metal material. Alternatively, the stiffening element can be a welded collar or a local thickening of the wall thickness of the tab.
[0016] The through-opening may have an opening width of 0.5 cm or more. Alternatively or additionally, the through-opening may have an opening width of 10 cm or less, in particular 5 cm or less. Thus, the size of the through-opening may facilitate the easy and reliable insertion of a tool for handling a package filled with bulk material.
[0017] In principle, the through-opening can be polygonal in shape, for example, i.e., triangular, square, or rectangular, or oval in shape. According to one embodiment of the packaging, the through-opening of the tab is circular, with a diameter of the circular through-opening being greater than or equal to 0.5 cm and less than or equal to 10 cm, in particular less than or equal to 5 cm. The circular through-opening can be produced simply and cost-effectively, and a stress concentration under load is reduced compared to the polygonal shape.
[0018] According to the invention, the packaging has at least one additional tab, wherein the additional tab extends cantilevered from the outer side of the packaging body facing away from the interior, and wherein the additional tab has a through-opening for inserting a hook. The additional tab can be configured identically to the tab described above.
[0019] The tab and the additional tab can be arranged on opposite sides of the packaging body. This improves the handling of the package when filled by providing two mutually spaced engagement or stop points in the form of the tab and the additional tab.
[0020] To improve manual handling of the package when filled, two or more tabs can be provided. In particular, the package can have exactly two tabs or exactly four tabs. Each of the tabs can have at least one through-opening. In particular, each of the tabs can have exactly one through-opening.
[0021] According to the invention, at least one cover sheet is attached to the packaging base body, with at least one flap being part of the cover sheet. The flap of the cover sheet can be the flap described above or the additional flap described above. Such a cover sheet serves, on the one hand, to stiffen the packaging and, on the other hand, to provide a simple and cost-effective implementation of a flap.
[0022] To reinforce the flap, the cover sheet can be folded at least once in the flap area. This makes it possible to provide a simple and cost-effective two-layer or multi-layer flap formed from two or more layers of a cover sheet material. The folded layers of the cover sheet can be joined together by a material bond or adhesive, in particular by welding or gluing.
[0023] Alternatively or additionally, to reinforce the flap, a fastening section of the cover sheet, by which the cover sheet is connected to the packaging body, can have a thinner wall thickness than the flap. The cover sheet therefore has greater flexibility in its fastening section attached to the packaging body, while the cover sheet is locally reinforced in the area of its flap.
[0024] It may be intended that the topsheet has a higher strength than the packaging body and / or the topsheet has a higher strength than a reinforced or sealed base of the packaging body. When it is stated here that the topsheet has a higher strength than the packaging body and / or a reinforced or sealed base, this means that the topsheet withstands a higher stress in a strip test when reaching a yield or elongation point than the packaging body or a reinforced or sealed base of the packaging body.
[0025] The cover sheet can be made of the same material as the packaging body. The cover sheet can be made of a different material than the packaging body. In particular, the material of the cover sheet can have a higher yield strength and / or a higher tensile strength than a material of the packaging body.
[0026] The cover sheet can be welded or glued to the packaging body. An adhesion promoter layer can be arranged between the cover sheet and the packaging body to facilitate sealing. The cover sheet can have an adhesion promoter layer facing the packaging body to facilitate sealing.
[0027] The cover sheet extends over the entire length of one side surface of the packaging body and projects beyond the side surface in a longitudinal direction. The area of the cover sheet that projects beyond the side surface is the flap of the cover sheet. The cover sheet may be provided to completely cover the side surface. Accordingly, the packaging is formed in at least two layers in the area of the side surface by the packaging body and the cover sheet, with the cover sheet also forming the flap.
[0028] Alternatively or additionally, it can be provided that the cover sheet extends over the entire height of a side surface of the packaging body and projects beyond the side surface in a vertical direction. The area of the cover sheet projecting beyond the side surface is the flap of the cover sheet. In this case, too, it can be provided that the cover sheet completely covers the side surface and, moreover, the flap is formed on the cover sheet. Thus, viewed in the longitudinal direction, a length of the side surface can be less than a length of the cover sheet. Likewise, viewed in the vertical direction, a height of the side surface can be less than a height of the cover sheet.
[0029] According to a further embodiment of the packaging, at least two cover sheets are arranged on at least one side of the packaging body, which overlap at least partially, with each of the cover sheets having at least one flap. Accordingly, in particular, two cover sheets can be provided, with each of the cover sheets having at least one flap to provide two points of engagement for handling the packaging adjacent to the respective side surface. Each cover sheet can have exactly one flap.
[0030] According to a further embodiment of the packaging, at least two cover sheets can be arranged on another side of the packaging body, which overlap at least partially and each have at least one flap. Each cover sheet can have exactly one flap. For example, a package with four cover sheets and four flaps and a total of four through openings can be specified to improve manual handling of the packaging when filled with bulk material.
[0031] Alternatively or additionally, at least one cover sheet can be arranged on opposite sides of the packaging body, with each cover sheet having at least one flap. Each cover sheet can be provided with exactly one flap. This can improve the manual handling of the packaging when filled.
[0032] According to a further embodiment of the packaging, the flap can be an integral part of the packaging body, or two or more flaps can be an integral part of the packaging body. In this case, an additional cover sheet with a flap can be omitted, or at least one cover sheet without a flap can be provided to stiffen the packaging.
[0033] The packaging body may comprise or be made of a plastic fabric. The packaging body may be a plastic fabric bag with a cross-shaped bottom and / or a sealed bottom.
[0034] For example, such a plastic fabric can be provided by a plurality of interwoven plastic threads and, in particular, can be further processed into the packaging base body as a strip, mat, or tubular material. The plastic threads of the plastic fabric can each consist of one or more plastics and / or be formed in a single or multi-layered manner.
[0035] The packaging base body can comprise or consist of a single-layer or multi-layer extruded plastic material. The extruded plastic material can be further processed into the packaging base body as a strip, mat, or tubular material. The packaging base body can be a plastic bag with a cross-shaped and / or sealed bottom.
[0036] The packaging body may comprise or consist of a single-layer or multi-layer paper material. The packaging body may be a paper bag with a cross-shaped bottom and / or a sealed bottom.
[0037] According to the invention, a cover sheet comprising the tab is applied to a cross-shaped base and / or sealed or sealed base of the packaging body. In particular, the cover sheet can be welded or glued to the cross-shaped base and / or sealed or sealed base of the packaging body.
[0038] A cover sheet having the additional tab is applied to a further cross-shaped base and / or sealed or sealed base of the packaging body. In particular, the cover sheet having the additional tab can be welded or glued to the additional cross-shaped base and / or sealed or sealed base of the packaging body. The cover sheet having the tab and the cover sheet having the additional tab can be arranged on opposite sides of the packaging body.
[0039] A cover sheet having the tab may be applied to a side surface of the packaging body adjacent to a cross base and / or sealed or sealed base of the packaging body.
[0040] In particular, the cover sheet can be welded or glued to the side surface.
[0041] A cover sheet having the additional tab can be applied to a further side surface of the packaging body adjacent to a cross-shaped base and / or sealed or sealed base of the packaging body. The cover sheet having the tab and the cover sheet having the additional tab can be arranged on opposite sides of the packaging body.
[0042] The packaging body can be coated. Such a coating can be used, in particular, to prevent liquid from penetrating the interior of the packaging body, keeping the bulk material dry and protecting it from environmental influences.
[0043] It can be provided that the packaging base body is folded and / or sealed in at least one area in order to form a storage volume or an interior space separated from the environment from a tubular or band- or mat-shaped material.
[0044] It can be provided that the packaging base body is completely sealed or closed around its circumference when completely filled with bulk material, so that the bulk material can only be removed from the packaging base body by at least partially destroying the packaging base body.
[0045] The packaging can be a valve bag for automated filling in a filling device. Such a valve bag has a valve into which a filling nozzle of the filling device can be automatically inserted to fill the valve bag with bulk material.
[0046] According to one embodiment of the packaging, the packaging is filled with a bulk material. For example, the packaging can be filled with cement, plastic granulate, lime, sand, gravel, or another free-flowing or pourable material.
[0047] The packaging may have a length of 400 mm or more, a width of 300 mm or more, and a height of 100 mm or more. Alternatively or additionally, the packaging may have a length of 700 mm or less, a width of 500 mm or less, and a height of 200 mm or less. The dimensions refer to the bulk-filled state of the packaging and define the interior or storage volume of the packaging, without taking into account the dimensions of the flaps.
[0048] For example, the packaging filled with the bulk material can be a cement bag weighing 25 kg. Alternatively, the packaging filled with the bulk material can be a cement bag weighing 50 kg.
[0049] According to a second aspect, the invention relates to a method according to claim 9 for producing a packaging, comprising the method steps: providing a packaging base body, wherein the packaging base body delimits an interior space for storing bulk material; forming at least one tab which extends in a cantilevered manner from the outer side of the packaging base body facing away from the interior space; and introducing a through-opening into the tab.
[0050] Forming the at least one flap may include providing and connecting at least one cover sheet to the packaging base body, wherein the flap is part of the cover sheet. The cover sheet may be welded or glued to the packaging base body.
[0051] The packaging can be designed in accordance with the invention.
[0052] It may be provided that the through-hole is punched into the tab. In particular, a circular through-hole can be punched into the tab.
[0053] Alternatively, the through-hole can be created in the tab by cutting, piercing, or similar means. In particular, the cutting can be done mechanically with a blade or by laser cutting.
[0054] According to a further embodiment of the method, the flap can be folded over and applied to the packaging body and / or the flap can be releasably connected to the outer side of the packaging body facing away from the interior. In this way, the packaging can be easily packed, stacked with other packaging, and transported without the flap interfering with transport or automated handling of the packaging in a filling device for filling bulk goods.
[0055] The tab can, for example, be connected to the outside of the packaging body by a detachable adhesive or welded connection, in particular one or more detachable adhesive or welded points.
[0056] According to a further embodiment of the method, the packaging can be folded and / or laid out flat, with the packaging having a rectangular basic shape and the tab being flush and flat against the packaging base body at least in sections. In this way, the packaging can be easily packed, stacked with other packages, and transported without the tab hindering transport or automated handling of the packaging in a filling device for filling bulk material.
[0057] The invention is described in more detail below with reference to a drawing illustrating exemplary embodiments. The drawings schematically show: Fig. 1A shows a first packaging according to the invention in a perspective view; Fig. 1B shows an enlarged view of a flap of the packaging from Fig. 1A ; Fig. 1Cthe packaging from Fig. 1Ain an exploded view; Fig. 2 a second packaging according to the invention in a perspective view; Fig. 3 a flow chart of a method according to the invention; Fig. 4 the packaging from Fig. 2 in a flat laid state; Fig. 5A a third packaging according to the invention in a perspective view; Fig. 5B the packaging from Fig. 5A in an exploded view; Fig. 6A a fourth packaging according to the invention in a perspective view; Fig. 6B the packaging from Fig. 6A in an exploded view.
[0058] Fig. 1A shows a package 2 according to one embodiment of the invention. The package 2 has a packaging base body 4. The packaging base body 4 defines an interior space 6 for storing bulk material.
[0059] Packaging 2 has a flap 8 and another flap 10.
[0060] The tab 8 extends from an outer side 12 of the packaging body 4 facing away from the interior 6. The tab 8 has a through-opening 14 for inserting a hook.
[0061] The further tab 10 extends projecting from the outer side 12 of the packaging base body 4 facing away from the interior 6 and has a through opening 16 for inserting a hook.
[0062] The tab 8 and the further tab 10 are formed in two layers.
[0063] The tab 8 has an annular stiffening element 18, which is an eyelet 18. The further tab 10 has an annular stiffening element 20, which is an eyelet 20. The stiffening elements 18, 20 completely enclose the respective associated through-opening 14, 16 on the circumference. According to alternative embodiments of the invention, the tabs can be provided without a stiffening element.
[0064] As shown in the enlarged illustration of tab 8 Fig. 1B As can be seen, the tab 8 has a diameter D that is greater than 0.5 cm and less than 5 cm.
[0065] The through opening 14, like the through opening 16, is circular in this case.
[0066] The through opening 16 also has a diameter that is greater than 0.5 cm and less than 5 cm.
[0067] The tab 8 and the further tab 10 are arranged on opposite sides 22, 24 of the packaging base body 4.
[0068] A cover sheet 26 and another cover sheet 28 are attached to the packaging base body 4. The flap 8 is part of the cover sheet 26. The further flap 10 is part of the further cover sheet 28. The cover sheet 26 and the further cover sheet 28 are therefore also arranged on the opposite sides 22, 24 of the packaging base body 4.
[0069] The two-layer design of the flap 8 is provided by folding the cover sheet 26 in the area of the flap 8. Similarly, the two-layer design of the further flap 10 is provided by folding the further cover sheet 28 in the area of the flap 10.
[0070] The cover sheet 26 has a fastening section 30 with which the cover sheet 26 is connected to the packaging body 4. The fastening section 30 is not folded and has a smaller wall thickness than the flap 8 of the cover sheet 26.
[0071] Likewise, the additional cover sheet 28 has a fastening section 32 with which the additional cover sheet 28 is connected to the packaging base body 4. The fastening section 32 of the additional cover sheet 28 has a smaller wall thickness than the additional flap 10 of the additional cover sheet 28, since the additional cover sheet 28 is not folded in the region of its fastening section 32.
[0072] In the present case, the cover sheets 26, 28 each have a higher strength than the packaging base body 4. In particular, the cover sheets 26, 28 each have a higher strength than a sealed cross-shaped base 35 of the packaging base body 4.
[0073] The cover sheets 26, 28 each extend over the entire length, measured in the x-direction, of the respective associated side surfaces 22, 24 of the packaging base body 4 and project beyond the respective associated side surfaces 22, 24 in this longitudinal direction x. The areas of the respective cover sheet 26, 28 projecting in the x-direction are therefore the respective tabs 8, 10.
[0074] The cover sheets 26, 28 each completely cover the side surfaces 22, 24.
[0075] Fig. 2shows a further embodiment of a packaging 2 according to the invention, wherein, in order to avoid repetition, only the differences from the embodiment described above are discussed and the same features are assigned the same reference numerals.
[0076] The design according to Fig. 2 differs from the embodiment described above in that two additional cover sheets 34, 36 are provided, which are applied to the cover sheets 26, 28.
[0077] The cover sheet 34 has a flap 38 and the cover sheet 36 has a flap 40. The cover sheet 34 has an oval through-opening 42 and the cover sheet 36 has an oval through-opening 44.
[0078] The cover sheets 34, 36 extend over the entire height of the side surfaces 22, 24 of the packaging body 4, measured in the z-direction, and project beyond the side surfaces 22, 24 in the vertical direction z. The areas of the respective cover sheets 34, 36 that project beyond the side surfaces 22, 24 in the vertical direction z form the respective tabs 38, 40 of the cover sheets 34, 36. The cover sheets 26, 34 and 28, 36 completely cover the respective associated side surface 22, 24.
[0079] A method for producing a packaging 2 according to Fig. 2 has the following procedural steps: I. Providing the packaging base body 4, wherein the packaging base body 4 delimits the interior space 6 for storing bulk material; II. Forming tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 that extend cantilevered from the outer side 12 of the packaging base body 4 facing away from the interior space 6; and III. Inserting the through-openings 14, 16, 42, 44 into the tabs 8, 10, 38, 40.
[0080] The formation of the tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 comprises providing and connecting the cover sheets 26, 28, 34, 36 to the packaging base body 4. The tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 are part of the cover sheets 26, 28, 34, 36.
[0081] The through openings 14, 16, 42, 44 are punched into the tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 and can already have been punched into the cover sheets 26, 28, 34, 36 before the cover sheets 26, 28, 34, 36 are attached to the packaging base body 4.
[0082] It can be provided that the tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 are turned over or folded in a process step IV and applied to the packaging base body 4 ( Fig. 4 ).
[0083] The tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 are releasably glued or welded to the outer side 12 of the packaging base body 4 facing away from the interior 6.
[0084] As in Fig. 4 As shown, the packaging 2 is also folded and laid out flat in process step IV, wherein the packaging 2 has a rectangular basic shape and wherein the tabs 8, 10, 38, 40 lie flush and flat against the packaging base body 4.
[0085] The Figures 5A and 5B show a further embodiment of a packaging 2 according to the invention, wherein, in order to avoid repetition, only the differences from the embodiments described above are discussed and the same features are assigned the same reference numerals.
