Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a screen device, comprising: two screen rollers, each of which is rotatable about a screen roller axle, wherein the screen roller axles are arranged at an angle with respect to each other in the fitted state of the screen device; two screens, each of which is rollable onto and unrollable from a respective said screen roller; two screen casings, with a respective said screen roller being arranged in each screen casing so as to be rotatable; screen guides for guiding the lateral sides of the screens; and securing pins which are provided at the ends of the screen casings in order to secure the screen casings with respect to the screen guides.

[0002] Such a screen device is typically installed to screen off windows which are arranged at said angle with respect to each other. The screens serve as insect screen and / or sunblind and / or blackout curtain, etc. In addition, such a screen device may also be incorporated, for example, in a roof construction.

[0003] With such screen devices, a supporting column is often provided on said corner at which the screen guides are fitted or in which they are incorporated. Examples thereof are described and illustrated in WO2015075609A1. This results in a sturdy solution, in which various loads on the screens can be absorbed in a satisfactory manner. However, these solutions are undesirable if such a screen device is installed in front of windows where it is desired to maintain a maximum view through the glazing at the corners.

[0004] With such screen devices, it is furthermore known to provide separate screen guides on the corner which are connected to each other and in which said securing pins are secured. Examples thereof are described and illustrated in US20140262084A1. This is typically deemed to be less aesthetic, due to the asymmetrical arrangement of the screen guides with respect to each other. When determining the dimensions, mistakes are also often made with regard to the dimensions of both screen casings. Moreover, the attachment of the separate screen guides results in problems which are detrimental to the sturdiness or which are aesthetically less pleasing. In addition, the arrangement does not provide equal strength and stiffness for both screens. Thus, forces such as wind loads cannot be absorbed in the same manner for both screens.

[0005] Furthermore, it is known to incorporate the screen guides in such screen devices in an angle profile at the corner. WO2023 / 021377A1 describes and illustrates examples of screen devices in which an angle profile comprising the screen guides for guiding the screen sides adjacent to the corner is fitted to these windows. With such screen devices, securing pins are releasably fitted with respect to the screen casings and the angle profile with the screen guides. However, sufficient space is required to this end in order to be able to fit these securing pins so that they are releasable.

[0006] However, if it is desired to make the screen guides slimmer or to fit them at a distance from the windows, this space is not available.

[0007] If it is desired to incorporate the screen casings in, for example, a cavity, this space is difficult to access.

[0008] It is the object of the present invention to provide such a screen device which solves said problems.

[0009] This object of the invention is achieved by providing a screen device, comprising: two screen rollers, each of which is rotatable about a screen roller axle, wherein the screen roller axles are arranged at an angle with respect to each other in the fitted state of the screen device; two screens, each of which is rollable onto and unrollable from a respective said screen roller; two screen casings, with a respective said screen roller being arranged in each screen casing so as to be rotatable; screen guides for guiding the lateral sides of the screens; and securing pins which are provided at the ends of the screen casings in order to secure the screen casings with respect to the screen guides; wherein the securing pins which, in the fitted state, are provided on mutually adjacent ends of the screen casings, together form an angle-securing pin or form part of an angle-securing pin, and wherein the corresponding screen guides form part of an angle profile which comprises a box profile which is provided with a securing cavity for securing the angle-securing pin therein.

[0010] Instead of providing separate securing pins which are each releasably fittable to the screen casings, an angle-securing pin is now provided which is arrangeable in a securing cavity in an angle profile with the screen guides.

[0011] Just as it is possible, using separate screen guides and associated separate securing pins, such as described and illustrated, for example, in EP3995664A1, to fasten the screen guides at the bottom of the screen casings after attaching a screen casing in, for example, a cavity, by tilting these at the bottom of the securing pins, in which case the securing pins are accommodated in corresponding securing cavities, it is now also possible to arrange such an angle profile at the bottom of the screen casings, by tilting it with respect to the angle-securing pin while accommodating the angle-securing pin in said securing cavity. This was not possible in the case of known angle profiles, such as for example described and illustrated in WO2023 / 021377A1.

[0012] As the angle profile with the screen guides is now fittable at the bottom of the screen casing without the securing pins having to be provided so as to be releasable for this purpose, the aforementioned space required to be able to (un)install these securing pins is no longer required. Thus, such an angle profile can be of a slimmer design. It is also possible to incorporate the screen casings in a cavity. Furthermore, it is possible to install such an angle profile at a distance from a window.

[0013] Each of the screen casings may be provided with a separate head plate which is provided with a corresponding securing pin which is arranged in such a way that, when arranging these screen casings at said angle with respect to each other, these securing pins together form an angle-securing pin, with these being fittable in the same securing cavity together in a simple manner. Optionally, these securing pins may to this end be coupled to each other to form the angle-securing pin, but this is not obligatory. In a simple embodiment, the securing pins remain arranged separate from each other while being adjacent to each other.

[0014] Alternatively, but less preferred, it is also possible to provide an angle-head plate which is provided at the corresponding ends of the screen casings and which is provided with a single-part angle-securing pin, of which said securing pins form part. When separate head plates are provided with separate securing pins, it is simpler to align the screen casings with respect to each other by means thereof in order to accommodate these in the fitted state of the screen device.

[0015] In the fitted state, the angle-securing pin preferably extends substantially in a plane which divides the angle at which the screen roller axles extend into two virtually equal angles.

[0016] Using such an orientation of the angle-securing pin, there is a greater degree of tolerance so as to be able to tilt the angle profile with respect to this angle-securing pin in order to be able to fit it at the bottom of the screen casings. The fitting of such an angle profile is consequently greatly facilitated.

[0017] The box profile is preferably designed so as to form a single unit. Using such a box profile, the angle profile can be made sufficiently strong, so that, in theory, it does not bend when subjected to wind loads.

[0018] A said box profile is a hollow profile which preferably has a substantially polygonal cross section. Preferably, this box profile has a virtually trapezoidal cross section. Alternatively, this box profile could have, for example, a substantially triangular cross section.

[0019] The box profile preferably comprises a base cavity in which securing walls extend which delimit the securing cavity and which, in the fitted state, extend on either side of the angle-securing pin.

[0020] Such securing walls may be provided locally where they have to secure the angle-securing pin or may alternatively be provided along the entire height of the angle profile.

[0021] These securing walls may extend between base walls of the box profile. Alternatively, these securing walls may be configured to be interrupted between such base walls. More specifically, the base cavity may thus be delimited, for example, by base walls of the box profile, with a first said securing wall on a first side of the base cavity being upright with respect to these base walls so as to extend on a first side of the angle-securing pin, a second said securing wall on a second side of the base cavity opposite the first side being upright with respect to the base walls so as to extend on the first side of the angle-securing pin, a third said securing wall on the first side of the base cavity being upright with respect to the base walls so as to extend on a second side of the angle-securing pin opposite the first side, and a fourth said securing wall on the second side of the base cavity being upright with respect to the base walls so as to extend on the second side of the angle-securing pin.

[0022] The first securing wall and the third securing wall are in this case preferably arranged substantially parallel to each other and are provided with ends which diverge away from the base walls. Analogously, the second securing wall and the fourth securing wall are arranged preferably substantially parallel to each other and provided with ends which diverge away from the base walls. Using ends which diverge, it is easier to arrange the angle-securing pin smoothly between the securing walls, with the parts of the securing walls which are arranged virtually parallel to each other making it possible to secure the securing walls sufficiently well. At the location of the parts which are arranged virtually parallel to each other, more precise tolerances may then be used to tightly secure the angle-securing pin.

[0023] Away from the screen casings, the angle-securing pin preferably comprises an end which narrows away from the screen casings. By means of such a narrowing end, the angle-securing pin can smoothly be arranged in the securing cavity.

[0024] More specifically, each of the screen casings comprises a rear wall on a rear side, a top wall on a top side, a bottom wall on a bottom side, and a front wall on a front side.

[0025] These walls of the screen casings may be provided separately, but may also, for example, form part of a building in which the screen device is accommodated. Thus, for example, a delimitation of a cavity of an outer wall of such a building may also serve as a wall to form such a screen casing.

[0026] With screen casings, the rear wall is usually the wall which is attached to a structure situated behind it. Alternatively, a screen casing may also be attached, for example, to a neighbouring structure by means of its top wall.

[0027] If it is intended to fit such a screen device in front of a window, then the rear wall of the screen casings is configured to be arranged so that it faces this window. When such a screen device is incorporated in a roof construction, the rear wall will be facing the inner side of this roof construction.

[0028] Preferably, the rear walls of the screen casings adjoin each other at said angle.

[0029] When the screen casings are in the fitted state, the angle profile is preferably accommodable in the screen device from the front side to the rear side in order to accommodate it in the fitted state of the screen device. In this case, the angle profile is preferably fittable at the bottom of the screen casings via a tilting motion, with the angle-securing pin being accommodated in the securing cavity. The point of the angle-securing pin which is furthest from the screen casings is in this case preferably arranged closer to the front walls of the screen casings than to the rear walls of the screen casings. Such a form of the angle-securing pin increases the possibility of achieving a tilting motion with a satisfactory securement with the angle profile. In this case, the asymmetrical shape of the securing pin also makes it possible to fit the bottom side of the angle profile on a base with a limited intermediate space, so that a finishing element or a base plate and / or bracket required to finish this angle profile at the bottom with respect to a base or to fit it to this base can be less high. Keeping this intermediate space limited is deemed to be more aesthetic.

[0030] The box profile preferably comprises a front wall which adjoins the front walls of these screen casings while adjoining these screen casings. In the fitted state, this front wall preferably extends at right angles to the plane in which the angle-securing pin substantially extends.

[0031] By means of such a front wall, the angle profile may be made slimmer. Such a front wall also increases the strength and stiffness of such an angle profile.

[0032] The box profile furthermore preferably comprises a rear wall which adjoins the rear walls of the screen casings while adjoining these screen casings and which, in the fitted state, extends at right angles to the plane in which the angle-securing pin substantially extends. By also providing such a rear wall, such an angle profile can also be positioned at a distance from glazing.

[0033] At least a part of said securing walls is preferably upright with respect to said front wall. In addition, securing walls may also be provided which are upright with respect to side walls which are upright with respect to such a front wall and / or with respect to a said rear wall.

[0034] The screen guides of the angle profile preferably each comprise a rear wall and two side walls which are upright with respect to the rear wall in order to delimit a receiving cavity for accommodating a lateral side of the corresponding screen therein, with the box profile comprising these rear walls of the screen guides.

[0035] These rear walls of the screen guides more specifically preferably form side walls of the box profile which are upright with respect to the front wall and / or with respect to a rear wall of this box profile. The front wall of the box profile is then preferably designed to be thicker than these side walls of the box profile in order to have a greater impact on the stiffness and torsion strength of the angle profile. A rear wall of the box profile is preferably also designed to be thicker than the side walls of the box profile.

[0036] The screen guides may comprise one or more further profiles which are then releasably attachable with respect to said rear wall and side walls of these screen guides.

[0037] The box profile preferably also comprises the side walls of the screen guides of the angle profile in order to produce a particularly stiff and compact unit.

[0038] The angle profile is furthermore preferably symmetrical with respect to a plane which extends at virtually equal angles with respect to each of the screen roller axles, so that forces on the various screens can be absorbed in a similar manner.

[0039] This plane is preferably the same plane as the plane in which the angle-securing pin substantially extends.

[0040] In a specific embodiment, the angle profile comprises a set of finishing profiles which are each releasably attachable to the box profile so as to be individually replaceable.

[0041] Using such finishing profiles provides maximum freedom of design in which case finishing profiles having different shapes and / or made of other materials may give the angle profile a different aesthetic appearance. Thus, for example, a rounded shape may be provided or a box profile in aluminium may be finished with a finishing profile made of wood or Trespa, etc.

[0042] To this end, the box profile may, more specifically, be provided with fastening means, in which case the finishing profiles are provided with corresponding fastening means to releasably attach the finishing profiles to the box profile. More specifically, these fastening means may, for example, be provided in order to bring about a click-fit connection. Preferably, the fastening means of the box profile are provided on the front wall of this box profile.

[0043] The present invention will now be explained in more detail by means of the following detailed description of some preferred embodiments of screen devices according to the present invention. The sole aim of this description is to provide illustrative examples and to indicate further advantages and particulars of the present invention and may therefore not be interpreted as a limitation of the area of application of the invention or of patent rights described in the claims.

[0045] The screen device (1) illustrated in Fig. 1 comprises two screen rollers, each of which being accommodated in a respective screen casing (4, 5).

[0046] The screen casings (4, 5) are arranged at an angle (α) with respect to each other. The screen rollers are each rotatable about a respective screen roller axle (A). Since these screen roller axles (A) extend along the length direction of the screen casings (4, 5), these screen roller axles (A) are thus also arranged at said angle (α) with respect to each other.

[0047] Each screen casing (4, 5) comprises a rear wall (23) on a rear side, a top wall (24) on a top side, a bottom wall (25) on a bottom side, and a front wall (26) on a front side. In the illustrated embodiment, these walls (23, 24, 25, 26) of the screen casings (4, 5) are in the form of profiles.

[0048] One or more of these walls (23, 24, 25, 26) may form part of a common profile. Thus, the front wall (26) and bottom wall (25) may, for example, also form part of the same rounded profile. In alternative embodiments, these walls (23, 24, 25, 26) may also be formed by an environment of the screen device (1). Thus, a delimitation of a cavity of an outer wall of a building may, for example, serve as a wall for such a screen casing.

[0049] A screen (2, 3) is fastened to each of the screen rollers at one of its ends. As the screen rollers (2, 3) are arranged so as to be rotatable about their screen roller axle (4, 5), the screens (2, 3) attached thereto are rollable onto and unrollable from the respective screen rollers. To this end, the bottom wall (25) in each case leaves an opening free, so that the respective screen (2, 3) can extend through this opening.

[0050] This screen device (1) may be provided, for example, in order to screen off windows or to be incorporated in a roof construction, etc. In this case, the screens (2, 3) may serve as an insect screen and / or sunblind and / or windbreak and / or blackout curtain, etc.

[0051] In the illustrated embodiment, a bottom slat (45) is in each case attached at the end of the screens (2, 3) opposite the end by which they are attached to the respective screen roller (2, 3), so that the screens (2, 3) may sag under the weight of this bottom slat (45).

[0052] Screen guides (6, 7, 8) are arranged on the lateral sides of the screens (2, 3) for guiding the corresponding lateral sides of the screens (2, 3). In the illustrated embodiment, the lateral ends of the bottom slat (45) are also guided in these screen guides (6, 7, 8) in this case.

[0053] At their ends, the screen casings (4, 5) are provided with head plates (34) on which a corresponding securing pin (12, 13) is provided. These securing pins (12, 13) are provided in order to secure the screen casings (4, 5) with respect to the screen guides (6, 7, 8).

[0054] The securing pins (12, 13) which are provided on the head plates (34) which are arranged at the location of said angle (α) are arranged in such a way that when the screen casings (4, 5) are arranged at the angle (α) so that they adjoin each other, these securing pins (12, 13) together form an angle-securing pin (14). In this case, these securing pins (12, 13) are arranged adjoining each other separate from each other in the illustrated embodiment. Optionally, these securing pins (12, 13) may also be coupled to each other to form the angle-securing pin (14). In an alternative embodiment (not shown), an angle-head plate is provided which is provided on the corresponding ends of the screen casings (4, 5) and which is provided with a single-part angle-securing pin of which said securing pins form part.

[0055] In addition, brackets (35) are provided on the head plates (34) for fastening finishing profiles (36) in order to finish the corner between the screen casings (4, 5).

[0056] The screen guides (6, 7) for guiding the screens (2, 3) at the bottom of the mutually adjoining ends of the screen casings (4, 5) form part of an angle profile (9). Various possible embodiments of such an angle profile (9) are illustrated. This angle profile (9) in each case comprises a box profile (10) which is provided with a securing cavity (11) for securing the angle-securing pin (14) therein.

[0057] As can be seen in Fig. 3, in the fitted state, the angle-securing pin (14) of the illustrated embodiment extends substantially in a plane (B) which divides the angle (α) into two virtually equal angles (β).

[0058] The box profile (10) is a hollow profile. In the illustrated embodiments, this box profile (10) in each case comprises a front wall (28) which, in the fitted state, adjoins the front walls (26) of the screen casings (4, 5) while adjoining these screen casings (4, 5), and a rear wall (29) which adjoins the rear walls (23) of the screen casings while adjoining these screen casings (4, 5). In this case, in the fitted state, the front wall (28) and rear wall (29) extend virtually at right angles to the plane (B). Side walls (30) connect the front wall (28) and the rear wall (29) to each other, so that the box profile (10) has a virtually trapezoidal cross section in the illustrated embodiments. In alternative embodiments, the front wall (28) could, for example, also be configured to be rounded or could be provided with an angle. In alternative embodiments, the rear wall (29) may analogously be rounded or provided with an angle. In yet other alternative embodiments, this rear wall (29) may also be omitted. The front wall (28), rear wall (29) and side walls (30) of the box profile (10) form base walls (20) of this box profile (10). These base walls (28, 29, 30) together delimit a base cavity (15), in which securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19, 40, 41) extend to form the securing cavity (11). In the fitted state, these securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19, 40, 41) extend on either side of the angle-securing pin (14).

[0059] In the illustrated embodiments, the securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19, 40, 41) extend with respect to the front wall (28) and the rear wall (29). In this case, they extend virtually parallel to the plane (B) in the fitted state.

[0060] In the first and the second illustrated embodiment, the securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19) are configured to be interrupted. A first securing wall (16) is upright with respect to the rear wall (29) in order to extend on a first side of the angle-securing pin (14). A second securing wall (17) is upright with respect to the front wall (28) in order to extend on the first side of the angle-securing pin (14). A third securing wall (18) is upright with respect to the rear wall (29) in order to extend on a second side of the angle-securing pin (14) opposite to the first side. A fourth securing wall (19) is upright with respect to front wall (28) in order to extend on the second side of the angle-securing pin (14).

[0061] In the first illustrated embodiment, the first securing wall (16) and the third securing wall (18) are provided with ends (21) which diverge away from the rear wall (29), and the second securing wall (17) and the fourth securing wall (19) are provided with ends (21) which diverge away from the front wall (28). In the second illustrated embodiment, the securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19) are upright with respect to the base walls (28, 29), without diverging. Diverging securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19) facilitate the fitting of the securing pin (14) between these securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19).

[0062] In the third and the fourth illustrated embodiment, both securing walls (40, 41) extend uninterrupted between the front wall (28) and the rear wall (29).

[0063] In alternative embodiments (not shown), the securing walls may be provided so as to be upright with respect to the side walls (30). In such an alternative embodiment, in the fitted state, the angle-securing pin (14) extends substantially in a plane which extends in a direction at right angles to the plane (B).

[0064] In the illustrated embodiments, the box profile (10) is an extruded profile, with the securing walls (16, 17, 18, 19, 40, 41) forming an integral part of this profile and extending over the entire length of this box profile (10). Alternatively, it is possible to allow securing walls to form part of an insert element which is attachable in a box profile in order to locally provide the securing walls where these have to secure the angle-securing pin (14).

[0065] The screen guides (6, 7) of the angle profile (9) each comprise a rear wall (30) and two side walls (31) which are upright with respect to the rear wall (30) in order to delimit a receiving cavity (32), for accommodating a lateral side of the corresponding screen (2, 3) and of the corresponding bottom slat (45) therein. These screen guides (6, 7) may comprise one or more further profiles which are releasably attachable with respect to the rear wall (30) and side walls (31). The further construction and possible variants of such screen guides (6, 7) are known, so that this will not be discussed in detail here.

[0066] In the illustrated embodiments, the box profile (10) comprises both the rear walls (30) and the side walls (31) of these screen guides (6, 7). In this case, the rear walls (30) of the screen guides (6, 7) form said side walls (30) of the box profile (10). In alternative embodiments (not shown), one or more of the side walls may be provided so as to be releasably attachable to the box profile. As yet another alternative, the screen guides themselves may be releasably provided on the box profile.

[0067] In the first embodiment, the front wall (28), the rear wall (29) and the side walls (31) of the screen guides (6, 7) are thicker than the other walls of the box profile (10) in order to increase the stiffness and torsion strength.

[0068] The second, third and fourth embodiment of the angle profiles (9) furthermore comprise a set of finishing profiles (37, 38, 44) which are releasably attachable to the box profile (10) so as to be replaceable. To this end, the box profiles (10) are in each case provided with fastening means (42). The finishing profiles (37, 38, 44) are provided with corresponding fastening means (43), by means of which these are couplable with the box profiles (37, 38, 44). In the illustrated embodiments, the fastening means (42) of the box profile (10) are here in each case designed as a click-fit cavity. The fastening means (43) of the finishing profiles (37, 38, 44) are then designed as corresponding click-fit elements which can be click-fitted in these click-fit cavities (42). In the second and third embodiment, an elastic coupling element (not shown) is arranged in each click-fit cavity (42) for this purpose.

[0069] By means of the first finishing profile (37), the angle profile (9) is finished with a surface which extends at right angles to the plane (B). In this way, the angle profile (9) is made slimmer. The second finishing profile (38) and third finishing profile (44) provide the angle profile (9) with an angle corresponding to said angle (α) at which the screen casings (4, 5) extend. In alternative embodiments, such a finishing profile may be provided in another form, such as for example a rounded form, or with other finishing materials and / or finishing colours.

[0070] In the illustrated embodiments, the angle profile (9) is in each case symmetrical with respect to the plane (B) which extends at virtually equal angles (β) with respect to each of the screen roller axles (A). Forces which act on the various screens (2, 3) are consequently absorbed in an identical manner.

[0071] When the screen casings (4, 5) are in the fitted state, the angle profile (9) is accommodable in the screen device (1) from the front side to the rear side in order to accommodate it in the fitted state of the screen device (1), as can be seen in Figs. 7-10. In order to facilitate accommodating the angle-securing pin (14) in a securing cavity (11), the end (22) of the angle-securing pin (14) which narrows away from the screen casings (4, 5) and the point (27) of the angle-securing pin (14) which is furthest from the screen casings (4, 5) is arranged closer to the front walls (26) of the screen casings (4, 5) than to the rear walls (23) of the screen casings (4, 5).

[0072] In Fig. 7, the angle profile (9) is still dismantled. In Fig. 8, the angle-securing pin (14) is obliquely arranged in the angle profile (9). In Fig. 9, the angle profile (9) is tilted with respect to the angle-securing pin (14) in order to fit the angle-securing pin (14) further in the angle profile (9). In Fig. 10, the angle profile (9) is dismantled, with the angle-securing pin (14) being arranged in the angle profile (9) in order to fit the angle profile (9) at the bottom of the screen casings (4, 5).

[0073] In the embodiment illustrated in Figs. 4-6, a fastening plate (39) is provided which is attachable at the bottom of the angle profile (9) in order to attach the angle profile (9) at the bottom. A fastening bracket (33) is attachable to a base and / or against a background. The fastening plate (39) is provided with a fitting opening (46) and the fastening bracket (33) is provided with a corresponding fastening element (47) which is arranged in the fitting opening (46) when tilting the angle profile (9) under the screen casings (4, 5) in order to fit the angle-securing pin (14) in the securing cavity (11), so as to fasten the fastening plate (39) to the fastening bracket (33).
