Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a recessed luminaire having the features of the preamble of claim 1 and to a method for producing a recessed luminaire according to claim 1.
[0002] The at least one elongated profile part is also referred to as an optical housing, since the inner sides of the legs act as reflectors in sections and thus have an optical function.
[0003] In the current state of the art, the optical housing is covered by an elongated outer housing profile with a U-shaped cross-section. The outer housing profile is typically made of powder-coated aluminum.
[0004] Thus, a recessed luminaire according to the state of the art has at least three parts, namely the actual light source, the optical housing and the outer housing profile part, which is associated with relatively high costs and a high manufacturing and assembly effort.
[0005] Light sources can be roughly divided into three types: incandescent lamps, gas discharge lamps, and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The latter are preferred in numerous areas of everyday life due to their numerous advantages, including longevity, energy efficiency, design flexibility, and functionality in extreme temperatures.
[0006] A special form of this is LED linear lighting. This is a thin, elongated circuit board equipped with a row of LEDs. The LEDs are usually arranged at regular intervals, and the circuit board can be either flexible or rigid.
[0007] The optical housing contains components that have an optical function, such as diffusers, filters, reflectors, or similar, and is sometimes also referred to as the optical housing.
[0008] A diffuser is used to scatter light through diffuse reflection (reflective diffusers) or refraction (diffractive or diffractive diffusers). The numerous scattering centers can be achieved in the form of lenses, prisms, surface embossing, or even the deliberate introduction of imperfections, such as air pockets in frosted glass.
[0009] A filter is an optical component that selects incoming light according to specific criteria, such as wavelength, polarization state, or direction of incidence. Filters can be used in lamps to reduce the blue component of the light, thus bringing the light spectrum of a standard LED closer to the sun's light spectrum by attenuating the characteristic high blue peak.
[0010] The purpose of reflectors is to reflect incoming light. A distinction is made between irregular (diffuse), regular, and retroreflection. The law of reflection applies to reflection: angle of incidence = angle of reflection. While direct reflection occurs from a smooth surface, diffuse reflection occurs when the surface is uneven or rough. With retroreflection, the incoming light is essentially reflected in the direction from which it originated.
[0011] The outer casing of a lamp protects the optical elements and / or the light source and provides space for the electronic components, such as the driver box, cables, connectors, etc. The outer casing also provides the lamp with an aesthetic appearance. For these reasons, the outer casing is often made of powder-coated aluminum.
[0012] However, the essentially three-part design of a generic recessed luminaire just described results in the following disadvantages: The luminaire consists of numerous individual parts, which result in complex manufacturing and assembly. The large number of individual parts that are connected to one another also makes the overall construction susceptible to defects due to tension in the material caused by temperature fluctuations or external forces. The outer casing makes the luminaire relatively heavy, which makes installation more difficult, especially on the ceiling of a room. Furthermore, as the weight increases, a more complex bracket is required for attachment to and / or in a wall. The outer casing also determines the required installation depth. This severely limits the use of a recessed light when the available installation depth is limited. A relatively large amount of material is required to manufacture the luminaire. This causes high costs and is also not desirable from an ecological point of view.
[0013] US 10663148 B1 discloses a recessed luminaire comprising two side walls with an engagement structure at one end, a web to which the light source is attached, and a cover in the form of a diffuser. The side walls and the web can also be formed as a single piece. Wall mounting such a recessed luminaire is extremely complex. The side walls each have a flange that is glued or screwed to the mounting surface. The one-piece design of the side walls and the web with the light source makes replacing broken lighting elements considerably more difficult.
[0014] A luminaire according to WO 2005088190 A1 has the same disadvantages, which are exacerbated by the fact that the LEDs used are encapsulated with a potting compound, e.g., epoxy. This means that in the event of a defect, the entire lamp must be replaced. The wall mount is provided via flanges on the side of the housing.
[0015] It is an object of the invention to further develop a generic recessed luminaire in such a way that lower costs and reduced manufacturing and assembly effort are achieved compared to the prior art. Furthermore, a method for producing such a recessed luminaire is to be provided.
[0016] This object is achieved by a recessed luminaire having the features of claim 1 and a method having the features of claim 15.
[0017] Such a recessed light has at least: at least one illuminant at least one elongated profile part, wherein the at least one profile part has an inner side and an outer side and further comprises at least: two legs which run in the longitudinal direction of the profile, are spaced apart from one another, and have an inner side and an outer side, wherein the inner sides of the two legs form part of the inner side of the profile part and each of the two legs has on its inner side a reflector section which runs in the longitudinal direction of the profile and is designed as a light reflector a web which connects the two legs to one another and has an inner side and an outer side, wherein the inner side of the web forms part of the inner side of the profile part at least one holding device for the at least one illuminant, wherein the holding device is arranged in the profile part, that during operation, light emitted by the illuminant emerges from the profile part partly directly in a region between the two legs and partly after at least simple reflection on one of the reflector sections, wherein the outer side of the profile part is designed as a housing of the recessed luminaire, wherein the space between the free legs is at least partially covered by at least one transparent or translucent plate running in the longitudinal direction of the profile, which plate is preferably designed as a diffuser plate, and wherein the at least one plate and the two legs are formed in one piece or are connected to one another by a material fit.
[0018] In such a recessed luminaire, the outer side of the profile section serves as the housing for the recessed luminaire. This measure eliminates one component—namely, a separate outer housing profile—entirely, thus lowering manufacturing costs and reducing assembly effort.
[0019] Furthermore, this makes it possible to produce a luminaire that is as light as possible with just a few individual parts, thus ensuring a stable mount on or in the installation surface and, in the event of a defective lamp, a simple and quick repair.
[0020] The design of the transparent or translucent plate and the two legs as a one-piece or integrally connected component of the profile part does not correspond to the usual procedure according to the state of the art. To enable repairs to the lamp or other components inside the light channel of a recessed luminaire, the base plate of the luminaire is detachably connected to the rest of the luminaire. This allows the recessed luminaire to be opened from below even when installed. Completely dismantling the recessed luminaire from the installation surface for repair purposes would involve disproportionate effort due to the standard three-part design of the recessed luminaire (i.e., lamp, optical housing, and outer housing). In addition, an easily replaceable base plate of a recessed luminaire according to the state of the art allows for simple and quick adaptation of the recessed luminaire to different applications. Accordingly, a design of the profile part of a recessed luminaire according to the invention is not obvious to a specialist.
[0021] The optics housing acts as the outer casing. The optics housing itself can be constructed in one piece or in multiple pieces. In particular, the optics housing can have two legs with a web arranged between them.
[0022] In an installed state of the recessed luminaire in which the recessed luminaire is arranged in an opening of a mounting surface (e.g. ceiling surface or wall surface), at least in the switched-off state of the luminaire, only at least one transparent or translucent plate of the recessed luminaire is visible in the direction of view towards the luminaire.
[0023] Advantageous embodiments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.
[0024] In one embodiment, it is provided that fastening points for the indirect or direct fastening of the recessed luminaire to a mounting surface are arranged on the outer side of the legs and / or the web.
[0025] In one embodiment, it is provided that the outer side of the profile part is formed by the outer sides of the legs and the outer side of the web.
[0026] In one embodiment, it is provided that a contact web running in the longitudinal direction of the profile is arranged at the free ends of the legs.
[0027] In a preferred embodiment, the reflective section of the inner side of the legs is designed as a white surface. Alternatively or additionally, a reflective surface can also be achieved by incorporating reflective microparticles into the base material (e.g., the plastic mixture) of the legs. Alternatively or additionally, a coating process is also suitable for creating a reflective surface.
[0028] In a preferred embodiment, the bridge has at least one plug connection for connecting to a power source and / or for detachably connecting to at least one other bridge element. A multi-part design of the bridge allows for recessed luminaires of variable lengths.
[0029] In one embodiment, it is provided that the two legs and the web are each formed as individual components.
[0030] In one embodiment, it is provided that each of the two legs has a groove which together forms the holding device for the at least one illuminant.
[0031] In an embodiment based on a combination of the two previously mentioned embodiments, it is provided that the web is designed as a support for the at least one illuminant and is held by the grooves of the two legs.
[0032] According to a preferred embodiment, at least one end piece is provided, which can preferably be attached in a form-fitting manner to the end of the long side of the profile part. This avoids sharp edges and increases safety for the installer. Furthermore, the end pieces prevent the penetration of dust, water, and / or other contaminants into the light channel of the recessed luminaire. In addition, various end piece designs allow for a customizable, aesthetic appearance of the recessed luminaire.
[0033] In one embodiment, it is provided that the recessed luminaire has at least two profile parts running one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the profile, wherein it is preferably provided that the at least two profile parts are arranged abutting and are particularly preferably detachably connected to one another by a connecting device.
[0034] The connecting device can be implemented, for example, in the form of a clamping device mounted on the top side of the profile part, which releasably connects at least two profile parts to one another.
[0035] Alternatively or additionally, the connecting device can also form, analogously to the end part, a preferably positive connection between the longitudinal end region of one profile part and another profile part.
[0036] According to a further embodiment, the connecting device connects the outer part of a leg of a first profile part to the longitudinal end region of a second profile part, thereby forming a type of T-junction.
[0037] In a preferred embodiment, at least one cable guide device is additionally provided, which can be releasably attached to the profile part. The cable guide device allows the electrical cables to be routed along the longitudinal profile of the recessed luminaire. This prevents the electrical cables from kinking and / or pinching and simultaneously organizes them.
[0038] The cable management device has the further advantage that the detachable attachment of the electrical cables to the cable management device provides strain relief at the connections of the power supply device and / or the recessed luminaire. This prevents alternating contact or unintentional loosening of the plug connection, which could lead to an interruption of the power supply.
[0039] The electrical cables that are routed via the cable guide serve to supply the power supply device with a mains voltage, preferably 230V, and to connect two or more power supply devices to each other.
[0040] Preferably using a voltage divider, the mains voltage is distributed among the electrical wires supplying the recessed luminaire's lamps. The voltage of each individual electrical wire is preferably limited to less than 60V to increase safety for the installer and prevent damage to the lamps. This type of electrical wiring is also referred to as internal wiring.
[0041] In a preferred embodiment, at least one wire guide is additionally provided for the internal wiring. Similar to the cable guide for the power supply of the energy supply device, the wire guide for the internal wiring serves as strain relief at the connections of the recessed luminaire and, by routing along the longitudinal side of the profile, prevents the internal wiring from kinking and / or pinching.
[0042] In a further preferred embodiment, it is provided that the wire guide is formed by at least one further component of the recessed luminaire, for example by at least one connecting piece or by the legs.
[0043] In one embodiment, it is provided that an energy supply device is detachably connected or connectable to the outer side of the profile part.
[0044] Alternatively or additionally, the at least one energy supply device can also be arranged next to the profile part, which reduces the installation depth of a recessed luminaire.
[0045] The power supply device may also comprise a control processor for controlling the luminaire, preferably its operating state, its brightness and / or the color of the emitted light.
[0046] In one embodiment, at least one retaining clip is provided by which the recessed luminaire can be fixed to a mounting surface.
[0047] Since the two legs of the profile part are connected to each other in an upper area by the web in such a way that the legs touch each other via the web, but there is no fixed connection, the at least one retaining clip ensures improved cohesion of the profile part with the web. For this purpose, the retaining clips are preferably detachably connected to the legs of the profile part via a clip part.
[0048] In a preferred embodiment, the at least one retaining clip is designed as a pair of spring elements which are tensioned when the luminaire is inserted into an opening in a mounting surface and then exert a force substantially normal to the side surface of the mounting surface and thus hold the lamp in position.
[0049] Alternatively or additionally, the at least one retaining clip can also have a profile and / or a surface structure and / or an edge structure, which ensures better surface adhesion and whereby the surface of the at least one retaining clip is wedged with the surface of the installation surface.
[0050] Particularly preferably, the at least one retaining clip is made at least partially of metal, preferably spring steel. The metal increases stability while being relatively lightweight and easy to process, allowing a wide variety of embodiments of the at least one retaining clip to be realized.
[0051] In one embodiment, it is provided that the space between the free legs is covered by at least one transparent or translucent plate running in the longitudinal direction of the profile, which is preferably designed as a diffuser plate.
[0052] The diffuser plate can take numerous forms, including a transparent or semi-transparent plate, a lens, or a prism. A design with microprisms has proven particularly advantageous. These are rolled and / or embossed onto the outside while the base surface is still in a malleable state.
[0053] In a preferred embodiment, at least one light-directing film is additionally provided. This can be attached between the two legs of the profile part above the transparent or translucent panel. For example, the at least one film can be inserted along a groove on the profile part. The at least one light-directing film results in the light being evenly scattered into different solid angles, thus achieving uniform illumination of the entire room. The use of light-directing films also allows for a simpler design of the transparent or translucent panel, and enables simple, even subsequent, configuration of the recessed luminaire by replacing the light-directing film.
[0054] In a further preferred embodiment, the at least one transparent or translucent panel of the profile part is designed in the form of a filter. A filter can, for example, influence the color of the emitted light.
[0055] In a preferred embodiment, the filter reduces the characteristic blue peak in the spectrum of the light emitted by the LEDs, thus aligning the spectrum with that of natural sunlight. This allows for the simple and effective realization of a daylight lamp.
[0056] Alternatively or additionally, the filter can also be implemented as a film, which can be attached in the profile part between the legs, analogous to the light-directing film mentioned above.
[0057] According to a preferred embodiment, at least one light-guiding device, preferably in the form of a register with at least one register element, consisting of at least two, particularly preferably four, reflector surfaces, can be mounted between the web and the transparent or translucent plate, in the space between the free legs. The four side surfaces of each register element preferably form a rectangular truncated pyramid that is open at the bottom. An opening for the light source is provided on the top side of the truncated pyramid, preferably centered. The emitted light is scattered by the reflector surfaces, allowing a larger area to be illuminated.
[0058] Protection is also sought for an arrangement comprising a mounting surface and at least one such recessed luminaire, wherein the at least one recessed luminaire is arranged in an opening of the mounting surface such that, at least in the switched-off state of the luminaire, only the at least one transparent (e.g. with a microstructured surface) or translucent plate of the recessed luminaire is visible in the direction of view of the luminaire.
[0059] Protection is also sought for a method for producing a recessed luminaire according to claim 1.
[0060] In a preferred embodiment, the profile part of the recessed luminaire is manufactured by a coextrusion process.
[0061] Coextrusion is an extension of the extrusion process. During extrusion, a hardenable mass is continuously forced under pressure through a forming orifice, also known as a profile die. When two or more similar or dissimilar materials are combined before leaving the profile die, this is called coextrusion. A distinction can be made between single-stage and two-stage processes:
[0062] Single-stage coextrusion occurs simultaneously in the same place and is referred to as a single-stage process or direct extrusion. Counter-rotating twin-screw extruders are typically used for this. They perform several tasks simultaneously, namely mixing the individual components and building up the pressure required for extrusion.
[0063] In two-stage coextrusion, the plastic granules and additives are first mixed and compacted in parallel twin-screw extruders, also called compounders. Pelletizing presses or heating-cooling mixers can also be used for this purpose. Subsequently, extrusion takes place in another unit, either coupled to the extruder or located separately in space and time. The intermediate products produced in two-stage coextrusion are not only suitable for extrusion, but can also be used in many ways in injection molding, rotational molding, or sheet compression molding.
[0064] Embodiments of the invention are discussed with reference to the figures. Figure 1A shows a front view of a profile part which forms part of a recessed luminaire according to the invention. Figure 1B shows a perspective view of the Figure 1A . Figure 1C shows in isolation the bridge of the Figures 1A and 1Bshown profile part. Figure 2A shows the profile part of the Figures 1A-1C with additional details in a front view. Figure 2B shows a perspective view of the Figure 2A . Figure 3 shows a perspective view of an arrangement according to the invention. Figure 4A shows a front view of part of a recessed luminaire according to the invention. Figure 4B shows a perspective view of the Figure 4A . Figure 5A shows a perspective view of a retaining clip. The Figures 5B and 5C each show a front view of the profile part with a retaining clip attached to it. Figures 6A , 7A and 7B each show different designs of a connecting piece. Figure 6B shows a front view of the profile part with a connecting device attached to it according to Figure 6A . Figure 8 shows a section through the light channel of a recessed luminaire in the longitudinal direction of the profile with the light directing device attached. Figure 9 shows a front view of a profile part with attached light-directing foil. Figure 10 shows a perspective view of an arrangement with an energy supply device arranged next to the profile part.
[0065] In the Figures 1A and 1B the structure of the profile part is shown, which in this embodiment consists of two legs 2, which are connected to each other by a web 4 in the sense that they touch each other via the web 4, but there is no fixed connection.
[0066] In this embodiment, the web 4 acts as a carrier for a plurality of light sources 1 (here designed as a plurality of LEDs) - compare Figure 1A The holding device for the lamps 1 is formed by two grooves 14 formed in the two legs 2. Two terminals 15 for an electrical supply line and control lines are arranged on the web 4.
[0067] On the two legs 2, contact webs 6 are arranged, against which a diffuser plate 13 rests.
[0068] As can be seen, the web 4 can be formed in several parts in the longitudinal direction of the profile. The individual webs 4 are preferably connected to one another by means of a plug connection 27.
[0069] In the embodiment of the Figures 1A - 1C the outside of the profile part and thus of the recessed luminaire is formed by the outside of the legs 2 and the outside of the web 4.
[0070] In the Figures 2A and 2B is the profile part of the Figures 1A - 1C shown again, whereby here an additional energy supply device 10 clipped onto the profile part (see the Figures 4A and 4B) can be seen, via which the recessed luminaire can be supplied with power via terminals 7. The power supply device 10 can also have a control processor for controlling the recessed luminaire. The clip connection can be released via lever 21. Alternatively, the power supply device 10 can also be arranged next to a profile part, which reduces the installation height of the recessed luminaire. (see the Figure 10 )
[0071] The recessed luminaire can comprise several profile sections that can be connected to one another via connecting pieces 16. The connecting pieces 16 have tabs 8 for this purpose. A terminal piece 17 can be provided at the ends of such an arrangement. The power supply to several profile sections can be provided via a common power supply device 10.
[0072] The recessed luminaire can be mounted in an opening 18 of a mounting surface 19 using mounting clamps 12. These are detachably connected to fastening points 9 formed on the legs 4 via a clip part 11.
[0073] Contrary to what is shown, the contact webs 6 may not be formed as part of the webs 2 but as part of the diffuser plate 13 (generally: the transparent or translucent plate).
[0074] In the Figure 5AA preferred embodiment of the retaining clip 12 is shown. The retaining clip 12 comprises two spring elements 25 on each side, which serve for fastening to or in a mounting surface. The spring elements 25 have a surface structure and / or edge structure 26 in order to create a frictional connection with the surface of the mounting surface and thus produce an improved holding effect. The clip part 11 of the retaining clip 12 is designed to fasten the retaining clip 12 to the profile part of the recessed luminaire and preferably also to ensure improved cohesion between the two legs 2 of the profile part and the web 4.
[0075] In the Figures 5B and 5CThe retaining clip 12 is attached to the profile part of the recessed luminaire. As can be seen, the clip part 11 preferably engages a groove in the area of the outer side of leg 2 of the profile part. A wire guide 28 is also attached to the upper area of the recessed luminaire. This wire guide 28 is designed to guide the luminaire's electrical cables and prevent excessive tensile stress on the connection 15. It is also conceivable to form the wire guide 28 as part of the leg 2 and thus guide the electrical cables laterally along the profile part of the recessed luminaire.
[0076] Figure 5C also shows a light-guiding device 22, which is mounted in the light channel of the recessed luminaire between the web 4 and the diffuser plate 13. The light-guiding device 22 can be easily moved into position by sliding it in. In contrast to the Figure 5B is in the Figure 6Ba diffuser plate 13 is shown which is not connected to the legs 2 at the lower end of the legs 2 in the area of the contact web 6, but is located in an area between web 4 and contact web 6 between the two legs 2.
[0077] The Figures 6A , 7A and 7B each show different embodiments of connecting pieces 16 for connecting two profile parts together.
[0078] The connecting device 16, which is in the Figure 6A The connecting device 16 is shown as being suitable for connecting two profile parts arranged one behind the other in the longitudinal direction of the profile, preferably butt-jointed. The connecting device 16 is attached to the legs 2 of the profile part by means of the clip part 11. The tabs 8 run, preferably parallel, along the outer side of the legs 2 and can also at least partially touch the legs 2.
[0079] In the upper area of the connecting device 16, at least one cable guide 24 is also mounted on the outside. The shape of the cable guide 24 is selected according to the routing direction, cable thickness, number of cables passing through, etc.
[0080] The Figure 6B shows how the connecting device 16 is attached to the recessed luminaire in the assembled state. Similar to the retaining clip 12, the connecting piece 16 also enables improved cohesion between the legs 2 and the web 4 and prevents the legs 2 from sliding apart and / or accidentally opening outwards, for example due to bending or temperature-induced material expansion.
[0081] The Figures 7A and 7B show variants of a corner connection for two profile parts arranged at a right angle to each other. Analogous to the connecting piece 16 according to Figure 6A the connecting pieces 16 are assembled according to the Figures 7A and 7Battached to the profile part by means of the clip part 11.
[0082] In the variant in Figure 7B the connecting piece 16 forms at least partially a part of the contact web 6 and / or the transparent or translucent plate in the area of the right angle and thus resembles the end piece 17 in its effect in this area.
[0083] Alternatively or additionally, connecting devices for corner joints could also be conceivable, with the two profile parts to be joined arranged at an acute or obtuse angle to each other. However, the principle remains the same as for a right-angled connection.
[0084] The Figure 8 shows a section along the longitudinal side of the profile through the recessed luminaire. The light-guiding device 22 comprises a plurality of register elements, with at least a portion of the inner side of the register elements having a reflector section 3.
[0085] The end piece 17 is connected, preferably detachably, to the front of the profile part and prevents contaminants from entering the light channel, protects against sharp edges of the profile part, and / or serves to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the installed luminaire. There are virtually no limits to the shape of the end piece 17, and the end piece 17 can be adapted to a wide variety of installation surfaces and / or profile part shapes.
[0086] Since the diffuser plate 13 is integrally or materially connected to the legs 2 of the profile part, it cannot simply be replaced to achieve a different effect of the recessed luminaire through an alternative type of diffusion. Accordingly, it is provided that a light-directing film 23 can be attached to the light channel of the recessed luminaire.
[0087] The light-directing foil is preferably inserted between the legs 2 and essentially parallel to the diffuser plate 13 or the transparent or translucent plate. This allows for quick and easy installation of recessed luminaires with a wide variety of effects without unnecessarily increasing the weight of the luminaire or complicating the installation of the recessed luminaire with numerous individual parts.
[0088] In the Figure 10 A recessed luminaire mounted in an opening 18 of a mounting surface 19 is shown. The power supply device 10 is not attached along the longitudinal side of the profile on the profile part of the luminaire, but is arranged next to it. The power supply device 10 lies on the mounting surface, and a connection to the recessed luminaire is established only by electrical cables 20. List of reference symbols:
