Description

[0001] Cosmetic product for the temporary reshaping of keratin-containing fibers

[0002] The present invention relates to a cosmetic agent which is applied in the form of a foam for the temporary reshaping of keratin-containing fibers, comprising at least one non-fully synthetic film former and at least nitrogen as a propellant, the use of the agent for the temporary reshaping of keratin-containing fibers and a method for the temporary reshaping of keratin-containing fibers using the cosmetic agent according to the invention.

[0003] Cosmetic products that permanently or temporarily shape hair play an important role in cosmetics. Temporary styles that provide good hold without compromising the healthy appearance of the hair, such as its shine, can be achieved with hairsprays, hair waxes, hair gels, hair mousses, blow-dryers, etc.

[0004] The most important property of a product for temporarily shaping keratin-containing fibers is to provide the treated fibers with the strongest and longest possible hold in the resulting shape. If the keratin-containing fibers are human hair, the cosmetic product is also referred to as strong hold or as having a high degree of hold. The degree of hold is essentially determined by the type and quantity of polymers used.

[0005] Numerous cosmetic products are known in the art that provide temporary styling. These products typically contain synthetic polymers as styling components. These products often cause hair to dry out.

[0006] For ease of use and even incorporation of the product into keratin-containing fibers, especially human hair, the product is preferably in the form of a foam. A propellant is required to create the foam, an aerosol. Common propellants include alkanes with 3 to 5 carbon atoms, such as propane, n-butane, iso-butane, n-pentane, and iso-pentane, and mixtures thereof. These have the disadvantage of being considered unsustainable.

[0007] Sustainability is becoming increasingly important to consumers, even in cosmetic products. This applies to all components, including film formers and propellants. There is therefore a need for a cosmetic product in which both the propellant and the film former are more sustainable than conventionally used components. However, the styling properties should not be adversely affected. Surprisingly, it has been shown that even non-fully synthetic film formers in combination with nitrogen as a propellant enable the temporary reshaping of hair. In a first embodiment, the object underlying the present invention is therefore achieved by a cosmetic product for the temporary reshaping of keratin-containing fibers, in particular human hair, which is applied in the form of a foam, comprising at least one non-fully synthetic film former and at least nitrogen as a propellant.

[0008] Surprisingly, it has been shown that even with non-fully synthetic film formers, cosmetic products can be obtained that are just as effective as conventional products in terms of styling properties. Furthermore, previous foams were produced using short-chain hydrocarbons as blowing agents. The assumption was that stable foams could not be obtained with other blowing agents. However, it has been shown that with nitrogen, cosmetic products in the form of foam can be obtained even with non-fully synthetic film formers.

[0009] According to the invention, the cosmetic product is applied in the form of a foam and therefore contains at least nitrogen as a propellant. The amount of propellant depends on the type and size of the container selected in which the cosmetic product is offered and used. The amount of propellant in the cosmetic product is therefore selected such that a pressure of 5 bar to 15 bar, in particular 7 bar to 12 bar, is generated in the container containing the cosmetic product. Such a pressure is usually selected in order to generate good foam and to empty a container as completely as possible. Higher pressures can be used by selecting packaging with appropriately designed pressure resistance, but are not common due to the higher material usage required.

[0010] According to the invention, the cosmetic product contains nitrogen as a propellant. However, the invention also encompasses the cosmetic product additionally containing other propellants. These other propellants are selected in particular from N2O, dimethyl ether, CO2, air, alkanes with 3 to 5 carbon atoms, such as propane, n-butane, isobutane, n-pentane, and isopentane, or mixtures thereof. If the cosmetic product contains one, two, or more other propellants in addition to nitrogen, the total pressure in the container in which the cosmetic product is used is in the range from 5 bar to 15 bar, in particular from 7 bar to 12 bar.

[0011] The cosmetic product therefore preferably contains the at least one propellant in amounts of 0.1 to 20 wt.%, based on the entire product. Amounts of 0.2 to 10 wt.%, in particular 0.3 to 5 wt.%, are particularly preferred, with the amount being based on the total weight of the cosmetic product. If the cosmetic product contains more than one propellant, this is the amount of all propellants contained.

[0012] According to the invention, the cosmetic product further comprises at least one non-fully synthetic film former. A film former is understood to be a polymer that leaves a continuous film on the skin, hair, or nails upon drying. Such film formers can be used in a wide variety of cosmetic products, such as face masks, makeup, hairsprays, hair gels, hair waxes, hair treatments, shampoos, or nail polishes. Preferred polymers are those that have sufficient solubility in water, alcohol, or water / alcohol mixtures. This allows the preparation of corresponding solutions that can be easily applied or further processed.

[0013] In the context of the present invention, a film former is understood to mean, in particular, those polymers which, when used in 0.05 to 20% by weight (based on the total weight of the cosmetic product) aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous-alcoholic solution, are capable of depositing on the hair in the form of a transparent polymer film which enables hair fibers to temporarily bond together.

[0014] According to the invention, the cosmetic product contains one or more non-fully synthetic film formers (non-fully synthetic film formers).

[0015] Film formers are generally known in the art. Typically, cosmetic products exclusively use fully synthetic film formers (fully synthetic film formers). For the purposes of the present invention, a film former is considered fully synthetic if all of the monomers constituting the film former are conventionally produced synthetically. Even if a monomer is obtained, for example, from biogas or other renewable sources, the film former is considered fully synthetic.

[0016] In contrast, non-fully synthetic film formers are those based on a naturally occurring substance. This naturally occurring substance (natural substance) can be chemically modified according to the invention. These natural substance-based film formers are referred to herein as non-fully synthetic or non-fully synthetic film formers.

[0017] Non-fully synthetically produced film formers within the meaning of the present invention are polymers or copolymers based on a natural substance. These natural substances can be further chemically modified according to the invention. Suitable natural substances include, for example, saccharides (mono-, di-, and polysaccharides) or biopolymers (polymers synthesized in the cells of a living organism).

[0018] Examples of saccharides include glucose, fructose, sucrose, lactose, maltose, cellulose, or starch. Plant gums (polysaccharides of plant origin), such as guar, agar, carrageenan, Acacia Senegal gum, and others, are also suitable in this case. A suitable biopolymer is chitosan. These compounds can be used, particularly chemically modified, as film formers, alone or in mixtures in the cosmetic product according to the invention.

[0019] Suitable cellulose derivatives are in particular hydroxypropylcellulose with a molecular weight of 30,000 to 50,000 g / mol, cationic cellulose derivatives, in particular those resulting from a reaction of hydroxyethylcellulose with a dimethyldiallylammonium reactant (in particular dimethyladiallylammonium chloride).

[0020] Polysaccharides derived from starch, for example, the polysaccharide with the INCI name pullulan, are also suitable. Other suitable substances include potato starch or a starch modified with nonionic propylene oxide, as described in DE 10 2017 222 854 A1 or DE 10 2018 218 270 A1.

[0021] Starch is a reserve carbohydrate that is stored by many plants in the form of starch grains (granules) that are usually 1 to 200 μm in size in various parts of the plant, e.g. in tubers or roots, cereal seeds, fruits and pith. A usable non-ionic, propylene oxide-modified starch can be derived from starch from potatoes, corn, rice, peas, acorns, chestnuts, barley, wheat, bananas, sago, millet, sorghum, oats, barley, rye, beans, sweet potatoes, arrowroot or cassava. Particularly pronounced beneficial effects are achieved by non-ionic, propylene oxide-modified tapioca starch or non-ionic, propylene oxide-modified potato starch or by mixtures of both of the aforementioned starches. Very particularly preferably, the cosmetic product contains at least one non-ionic, propylene oxide-modified potato starch.A non-ionic, propylene oxide-modified starch is thus understood to be a reaction product of a starch and propylene oxide. Pea starch or a modified pea starch can also be used with preference, with the modified pea starch preferably being a non-ionic, propylene oxide-modified pea starch.

[0022] Furthermore, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride can be used according to the invention as a non-fully synthetic film former if it has film-forming properties. Chitosans are biopolymers and belong to the group of hydrocolloids. Chemically speaking, they are partially deacetylated chitins of varying molecular weights. Chitosans are produced from chitin, preferably the shell residues of crustaceans, which are available in large quantities as cheap raw materials. The chitin is usually first deprotonated by adding bases, demineralized by adding mineral acids, and finally deacetylated by adding strong bases. Alternatively, the deacetylation can also occur enzymatically. The molecular weights can be distributed over a broad spectrum. Preference is given to types with an average molecular weight (weight average) of 800,000 to 1,200.000 Dalton, a Brookfield viscosity (1 wt.% in glycolic acid) below 5000 mPas, a degree of deacetylation in the range of 80 to 88% and an ash content of less than 0.3 wt.%.

[0023] In addition to chitosans, cationically derivatized chitosans (such as quaternization products) or alkoxylated chitosans can also be used.

[0024] Suitable chitosans are freely available commercially, for example, under the trade names Hydagen® CMF (1 wt.% active substance in aqueous solution with 0.4 wt.% glycolic acid, molecular weight 500,000 to 5,000,000 g / mol; Cognis), Hydamer®HCMF (chitosan 80% deacetylated, molecular weight 50,000 to 1,000,000 g / mol, Chitinor, formerly Cognis), Kytamer® PC (approximately 80 wt.% active substance of chitosan pyrrolidone carboxylate (INCI name: Chitosan PCA), Amerchol), Chitolam® NB / 101 and Chitosan 90 / 100 / A1 (chitosan approximately 90% deacetylated; BioLog Heppe).

[0025] Most preferably, the cosmetic products can contain neutralization products of chitosan with at least one acid as chitosan derivative(s). For the purposes of the present invention, the neutralization product represents any product formed by reacting chitosan with an organic carboxylic acid, i.e., the neutralization product can be prepared separately before the production of the cosmetic product, or the neutralization product can be formed in situ during the production of the cosmetic product.

[0026] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the organic carboxylic acid is selected from formic acid, acetic acid, citric acid, lactic acid, pyrrolidonecarboxylic acid, tartaric acid, glycolic acid, nicotinic acid, hydroxyisobutyric acid, hydroxyisovaleric acid, or mixtures of these acids, in particular lactic acid. This neutralization product can be prepared, for example, in an aqueous medium by adding chitosan and the corresponding organic carboxylic acid or a portion of the corresponding organic carboxylic acid. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the weight ratio of chitosan to the organic acid is between 2:1 and 1:10, preferably between 1:1 and 1:6, even more preferably between 1:2 and 1:4. In this more preferred embodiment, the total weight of chitosan used is related to the total weight of the organic acid in the cosmetic product.A particularly preferred organic acid is lactic acid. Lactic acid is a solubility enhancer. Used in the above weight ratios, it produces particularly beneficial styling effects and gives the hair a special hold.

[0027] The cosmetic product according to the invention contains at least one non-fully synthetically produced film-forming agent. According to the invention, it can also comprise mixtures of two, three, or more non-fully synthetically produced film-forming agents. According to the invention, the cosmetic product can further comprise at least one fully synthetically produced film-forming agent. Thus, the invention encompasses the cosmetic product comprising one, two, three, or more different non-fully synthetically produced film-forming agents. In addition, it can comprise one, two, three, or more non-fully synthetically produced film-forming agents.

[0028] In a preferred embodiment, the cosmetic product according to the invention is substantially free of fully synthetic film formers. It has surprisingly been found that a cosmetic product which is substantially free of fully synthetic film formers does not necessarily result in a loss of styling properties. Within the scope of the present invention, the cosmetic product can comprise up to 5% by weight of fully synthetic film formers, in particular up to 3% by weight, preferably up to 2% by weight, more preferably 1% by weight or less, based on the total weight of the product, in order to be “substantially” free of fully synthetic film formers. Preferably, the cosmetic product can also be completely free of fully synthetic film formers, ie the cosmetic product comprises 0% by weight of fully synthetic film formers.

[0029] For the purposes of the present invention, a film former is considered to be fully synthetic if all of the monomers constituting the film former are conventionally produced synthetically. If at least one monomer is of natural origin, the film former is considered to be not fully synthetic. Thus, non-fully synthetic film formers also include film formers that are entirely of natural origin.

[0030] Examples of film formers that are typically produced fully synthetically include, in particular, acrylate-based or methacrylate-based copolymers, especially those that comprise acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, alkyl (meth)acrylate, hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, and / or maleic anhydride as monomer components, and copolymers that comprise N-vinylpyrrolidone, alkyl vinyl ethers with alkyl groups comprising 1 to 18 carbon atoms, and / or vinyl esters of carboxylic acids with 2 to 18 carbon atoms, in particular polyvinylpyrrolidone / vinyl acetate copolymers; and also polyvinylpyrrolidone; where copolymers are understood to mean polymers that consist of two or more different monomers, and where all alkyl groups of the monomers mentioned can also be branched and / or functionally substituted alkyl groups. Corresponding fully synthetic film formers are well known to the person skilled in the art.

[0031] The composition according to the invention preferably contains film-forming agents in a proportion of 0.05 wt.% to 30 wt.%, in particular 0.10 wt.% to 20 wt.%, preferably 0.15 wt.% to 15 wt.%, based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. The amounts stated refer to all film-forming agents present when mixtures of several film-forming agents are present.

[0032] For the purposes of the present invention, keratin-containing fibers include fur, wool, feathers, and hair, especially human hair. Textured human hair, i.e., curly or wavy hair, is particularly preferred. Textured hair, in particular, requires a high proportion of conditioning ingredients, as the hair quickly becomes brittle.

[0033] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cosmetic product contains small amounts of a conditioning polymer, which is particularly preferably a cationic homopolymer. Cationic polymers are polymers that have a group in the main and / or side chain that can be "temporarily" or "permanently" cationic. According to the invention, "permanently" cationic polymers are those polymers that have a cationic group regardless of the pH of the product. These are generally polymers that contain a quaternary nitrogen atom, for example in the form of an ammonium group. Preferred cationic groups are quaternary ammonium groups.

[0034] In particular, those homopolymers in which the quaternary ammonium group is bonded via a Ci-4-alkylene group to a homopolymer main chain composed of acrylamide, wherein the three alkyl groups in addition to the Cw-alkylene group of the ammonium group are independently selected from Ci-io-alkyl groups, have proven to be particularly suitable.

[0035] All possible physiologically compatible anions, such as acetate, sulfate, chloride, bromide, and / or phosphate, serve to compensate for the positive polymer charge. As a care ingredient, the product can also contain, for example, at least one protein hydrolysate and / or one of its derivatives. Protein hydrolysates are product mixtures obtained by acid-, alkaline-, or enzymatically catalyzed degradation of proteins. The term protein hydrolysates also includes total hydrolysates, individual amino acids and their derivatives, and mixtures of different amino acids. The molecular weight of the usable protein hydrolysates ranges from 75, the molecular weight of glycine, to 200,000. Preferably, the molecular weight is between 75 and 50,000, and most preferably between 75 and 20,000 Daltons.

[0036] Also suitable care products according to the invention are in particular quaternary ammonium derivatives, in particular BTAC or CTAC.

[0037] The product according to the invention may further contain at least one vitamin, one provitamin, one vitamin precursor, and / or one of their derivatives as a care ingredient. Preferred vitamins, provitamins, and vitamin precursors are those typically assigned to groups A, B, C, E, F, and H. A particularly preferred care ingredient is D-panthenol.

[0038] The advantage of these care ingredients is that they largely originate from natural sources and thus represent energy- and resource-saving raw materials. According to the preferred embodiment, the cosmetic product can contain, based on the total weight, 0.0005 to 3 wt.%, preferably 0.001 to 2 wt.%, and particularly preferably 0.05 to 1 wt.% of the sum of care oils and care ingredient.

[0039] According to a further preferred embodiment, the cosmetic product can additionally contain an emulsifier. Emulsifiers cause the formation of water- or oil-stable adsorption layers at the phase interface, which protect the dispersed droplets against coalescence and thus stabilize the emulsion. Emulsifiers are therefore composed, like surfactants, of a hydrophobic and a hydrophilic molecular moiety. Hydrophilic emulsifiers preferably form O / W (oil-in-water) emulsions, and hydrophobic emulsifiers preferably form W / O (water-in-oil) emulsions. Particularly preferred emulsifiers are alkoxylated fatty alcohols. The particularly preferred emulsifiers offer the advantage of being obtainable from natural, non-fully synthetic raw material sources.

[0040] Accordingly, in a preferred embodiment, the cosmetic agent further contains at least one alkoxylated fatty alcohol. An "alkoxylated fatty alcohol" is any fatty alcohol with a carbon chain of C5 or more, which further comprises at least one alkoxy group. The fatty alcohol can be selected, for example, from C9-C13 fatty alcohols, C12-C13 fatty alcohols, C12-C18 fatty alcohols, C12-C16 fatty alcohols, C15-C15 fatty alcohols, arachidyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, caprylic alcohol, cetearyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, coconut alcohol, decyl alcohol, (hydrogenated) tallow alcohol, lauryl alcohol, myristyl alcohol, oleyl alcohol, palm alcohol, palm kernel alcohol, stearyl alcohol, and tridecyl alcohol.

[0041] The alkoxy group can, in particular, comprise ethoxy and / or propoxy and / or butoxy groups. The alkoxylated fatty alcohol is particularly preferably an ethoxylated fatty alcohol.

[0042] The at least one alkoxy group of the “alkoxylated fatty alcohol” can, for example, be derived from an alkoxylation reaction with alkylene oxide, in particular ethylene oxide and / or propylene oxide.

[0043] Es ist bevorzugt, dass der mindestens eine alkoxylierte Fettalkohol ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Ceteareth-2, Ceteareth-3, Ceteareth-4, Ceteareth-5, Ceteareth-6, Ceteareth-7, Ce- teareth-8, Ceteareth-9, Ceteareth-10, Ceteareth-11 , Ceteareth-12, Ceteareth-13, Ceteareth-14, Ce- teareth-15, Ceteareth-16, Ceteareth-17, Ceteareth-18, Ceteareth-20, Ceteareth-22, Ceteareth-23, Ceteareth-24, Ceteareth-25, Ceteareth-27, Ceteareth-28, Ceteareth-29, Ceteareth-30, Ceteareth- 33, Ceteareth-34, Ceteareth-40, Ceteareth-50, Ceteareth-55, Ceteareth-60, Ceteareth-80, Ce- teareth-100, Laureth-1 , Laureth-2, laureth-3, Laureth-4, Laureth-5, Laureth-6, Laureth-7, Laureth-8, Laureth-9, Laureth-10, Laureth-11 , Laureth-12, Laureth-13, Laureth-14, Laureth-15, Laureth-16, Laureth-20, Laureth-23, Laureth-25, Laureth-30, Laureth-40, Deceth-3, Deceth-5, Oleth-5, Oleth-30, Steareth-2, Steareth-4, Steareth-6, Steareth-7, Steareth-10, Steareth-1 1 , Steareth-13, Steareth-14, Steareth-15, Steareth-20,Steareth-21, Steareth-25, Steareth-27, Steareth-30, Steareth-40, Steareth-50, Steareth-100 and mixtures thereof.

[0044] The name Ceteareth-2, for example, stands for a Cie-Cis fatty alcohol with an average of 2 ethylene oxide units per molecule.

[0045] In a very particularly preferred embodiment of the cosmetic agent, the at least one alkoxylated fatty alcohol comprises cetearyl alcohol and / or ceteareth-20, in particular cetearyl alcohol and ceteareth-20.

[0046] The amount of the at least one alkoxylated fatty alcohol is preferably 1 to 15 wt.% and more preferably 2 to 8 wt.%, based in each case on the total amount of cosmetic product. According to the invention, the cosmetic products may additionally contain at least one surfactant. Generally, cosmetic products may contain nonionic, anionic, cationic, and ampholytic surfactants. The group of ampholytic or amphoteric surfactants includes zwitterionic surfactants and ampholytes. It has proven particularly advantageous for the cosmetic products to additionally contain at least one cationic surfactant to enhance their hair-care properties.

[0047] Cationic surfactants of the quaternary ammonium compound, esterquat, and amidoamine type are preferably used. Preferred quaternary ammonium compounds are ammonium halides, especially chlorides and bromides, such as alkyltrimethylammonium chlorides, dialkyldimethylammonium chlorides, and trialkylmethylammonium chlorides. The long alkyl chains of these surfactants preferably have 10 to 308 carbon atoms, such as, for example, cetyltrimethylammonium chloride, stearyltrimethylammonium chloride, distearyldimethylammonium chloride, lauryldimethylammonium chloride, lauryldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, and tricetylmethylammonium chloride. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, alkyltrimethylammonium salts are used, more preferably C12-C25 alkyltrimethylammonium salts, particularly preferably C16-C25 alkyltrimethylammonium chlorides, in particular cetrimonium chloride (CTAC) or behentrimonium chloride (BTAC).

[0048] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the cosmetic agent contains 0.01 to 4 wt.%, particularly preferably 0.1 to 3 wt.% and in particular 0.2 to 2 wt.% of the cationic surfactant, the amounts being based on the total weight of the cosmetic agent.

[0049] The applicability of the cosmetic product can be further increased by the use of small amounts of one or more polyhydric alcohols. Preferred cosmetic products contain one or more C3 to C12 alkane-1,2-diols, more preferably C3 to C10 alkane-1,2-diols. The cosmetic product particularly preferably contains propane-1,2-diol and / or caprylyl glycol. These particularly preferred diols improve applicability, are also caring, and are suitable for forming a stable emulsion with the particularly preferred emulsifier. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, 0.01 to 1% by weight, more preferably 0.02 to 0.8% by weight, based in each case on the total weight of the cosmetic product, of the alkane-1,2-diol is present in the cosmetic product.

[0050] In further preferred embodiments of the present invention, the cosmetic product further contains perfume and optionally other excipients, such as viscosity adjusters. These thickeners, like the film former, are preferably not fully synthetic.

[0051] The cosmetic product contains the above-described ingredients in a cosmetic carrier. The cosmetic carrier is preferably an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic carrier. The cosmetic product preferably contains, based on its total weight, at least 25% by weight, more preferably at least 40% by weight, and especially preferably at least 60% by weight of water. The cosmetic product particularly preferably comprises at least 65% by weight of water, especially preferably at least 70% by weight of water, or at least 75% by weight of water.

[0052] Where quantities are given in % by weight in this application, these refer to the active ingredient of the respective substance in relation to the total weight of the agent, unless otherwise stated.

[0053] The cosmetic products are preferably in the form of foam. For this purpose, the cosmetic products are packaged in a dispensing device, which is either a pressurized gas container additionally filled with a propellant ("aerosol container") or a non-aerosol container. Pressurized gas containers, with the aid of which a product is dispensed via a valve using the container's internal gas pressure, are defined as "aerosol containers." Conversely to the aerosol definition, a "non-aerosol container" is defined as a container under normal pressure with the aid of which a product is dispensed by mechanical action through a pump or squeeze system.

[0054] In a further embodiment, the object underlying the present invention is achieved by the use of the cosmetic agent as described above for the temporary reshaping and / or shape-fixing of keratin-containing fibers, in particular human hair.

[0055] In yet another embodiment, the object underlying the present invention is achieved by a method for temporarily reshaping keratin-containing fibers, in particular human hair, characterized in that the cosmetic agent is applied to the keratin-containing fibers as described above.

[0056] It has been found to be preferable if the keratin fibers are not rinsed after exposure to the cosmetic agents of the first subject matter of the invention and are left on the fibers. Features relating to preferred embodiments of the first embodiment, which are described above only in this regard, naturally also apply to the further embodiments as features of preferred embodiments.

[0057] The following examples are intended to illustrate the subject matter of the present invention without limiting it in any way.
