Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a sealing unit for a door or a window. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] EP 1 277 910 A1 discloses glass doors with sealing devices featuring retractable sealing strips. The sealing device is inserted into a mounting profile rail that is glued to the lower end face of the glass door leaf. The retaining profile rail is glued into the mounting profile rail or fixed by means of a screw connection. This arrangement has proven successful on the market. However, a disadvantage is that the glued-in sealing device cannot be removed from the mounting profile rail. Another disadvantage is that installing the sealing device in the mounting profile rail is relatively time-consuming. One must either wait until the glue has dried or create screw connections. PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

[0003] It is therefore an object of the invention to provide an improved sealing unit for doors, in particular for glass doors.

[0004] This object is achieved by a sealing unit having the features of claim 1.

[0005] The sealing unit according to the invention for a door or window comprises a sealing device with a retaining profile rail and a sealing strip, as well as a fastening profile rail for fastening to a leaf of the door or window. The fastening profile rail forms a first groove for retaining the sealing device, wherein the fastening profile rail has a fixing element and an end stop in the first groove.

[0006] The sealing device can thus be pushed or inserted into the first groove, where it is fixed in position and ready for immediate use. There's no need to wait for the glue to dry. Screws are unnecessary. Furthermore, installation is simple if the sealing device can be pushed into the first groove from the front, eliminating the need for any further assembly steps.

[0007] The first groove preferably has a U-shaped cross-section. It preferably extends over the entire length of the mounting profile rail and is preferably open on both sides. The mounting profile rail and the retaining profile rail can thus be manufactured by the meter and cut to the desired lengths during the production of the sealing unit. The retaining profile rail is preferably slightly shorter than the mounting profile rail.

[0008] Preferably, the sealing device is fixed in the mounting profile rail and can be removed from the mounting profile rail. This allows it to be replaced as needed, or the sealing device can be reused in a different door leaf if the door is damaged, e.g., due to broken glass. Disassembly is also simplified because no connections need to be removed. Sufficient force is simply required to overcome the fixation when pushing the sealing device out of the first groove.

[0009] Preferably, the fixation comprises a clamping cam or is a clamping cam that protrudes into the first groove. The clamping cam presses against the retaining profile rail of the sealing device, thus fixing it in position.

[0010] Preferably, the end stop has a tongue or is a tongue that protrudes into the first groove. The retaining profile rail of the sealing device rests against the end stop on its end face and thus cannot be pushed further into the first groove. Thanks to the fixation, in particular thanks to the clamping cam, it can no longer be pushed out of the groove without increased force.

[0011] The fastening profile rail preferably has at least one ledge extending into the first groove for supporting the retaining profile rail on the ledge. The at least one ledge is preferably arranged at the lowest end of the fastening profile rail and at the open end of the first groove. Preferably, two ledges are provided at the same height. Preferably, a ledge is formed on each side wall, which extends into the first groove and on which the sealing device rests.

[0012] In other embodiments, the ledges are spaced from the open end of the first groove and the retaining profile rail has corresponding longitudinal grooves for receiving the ledges.

[0013] In further embodiments, the retaining profile rail has a support structure that can be inserted into a matching receiving structure in the first groove, so that the retaining profile rail is held or supported in the first groove. The support structure and the receiving structure are preferably located in the region of the groove base of the first groove or on the side walls of the first groove or of the retaining profile rail.

[0014] Preferably, the fixing device and the end stop are arranged one behind the other at a distance in a longitudinal direction of the mounting profile rail. Preferably, the fixing device and the end stop are arranged adjacent to each other. They are preferably located at a front end of the mounting profile rail. The opposite end of the mounting profile rail is preferably open and designed such that the sealing device can be inserted into the mounting profile rail from this opposite end.

[0015] In preferred embodiments, the mounting profile rail has two side walls and a web connecting the two side walls, which together form the first groove. The fixation and / or the end stop are preferably formed in the web. However, they can also be formed in one side wall or in both side walls. This is particularly the case for the end stop.

[0016] The fixing element, in particular the clamping cam, and the end stop, in particular the tongue, can be attached to the first groove in different ways. The clamping cam is preferably produced by striking a surface of the fastening rail, in particular the web, facing away from the first groove. The tongue is preferably produced by punching the fastening rail, in particular the web. This facilitates the production of the fastening profile rail, since it can be manufactured by the meter, and the fixing element and the end stop can be inserted using the simplest means after cutting to the desired length.

[0017] The mounting profile rail can be designed and attached to the door leaf in different ways. In particular, it can be designed and attached to the door leaf like the mounting profile of the aforementioned EP 1 277 910 A1. Thus, for example, it can have a flat upper surface and be glued to a lower end face of the door leaf. If the door leaf is not made of glass, it can also be attached with mounting brackets. However, it can also have an upwardly projecting side wall that rests against the door leaf and is glued or screwed on; the latter if the door leaf is not made of glass.

[0018] Preferably, at least one side wall of the mounting profile rail projects beyond the web on the side opposite the first groove for the purpose of connecting a leaf of the door or window to the sealing unit. The connection can be, for example, an adhesive connection or a screw connection.

[0019] In preferred embodiments, both side walls of the mounting profile rail project beyond the web on the side opposite the first groove, forming a second groove with the web to accommodate a portion of the sash. Depending on the design, the sash can be clamped or held and fixed without clamping, for example, again by gluing or screwing.

[0020] Preferably, the mounting profile rail and / or the retaining profile rail are formed as a single piece. The rails are preferably made of aluminum.

[0021] The sealing device can be designed in different ways. It can be a sliding or brush seal. However, it is preferably a drop-down seal, with the sealing strip being movable relative to the retaining profile rail for the purpose of sealing a gap between the door leaf and a floor, wall, or ceiling.

[0022] The sealing unit according to the invention is particularly suitable for glass door leaves. However, it can also be used for door leaves made of other materials. Furthermore, it can be used in doors with pivoting door leaves and for sliding doors.

[0023] Further embodiments are specified in the dependent claims. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

In the drawings: Figure 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a lower part of a door leaf with a sealing unit according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a view of a sealing unit according to the invention in a state mounted on a door leaf; Figure 3 shows a perspective view of part of a fastening profile rail of the sealing unit according to Figure 2 ; Figure 4 a second perspective view of the fastening profile rail according to Figure 3 ; Figure 5a longitudinal section through the fastening profile rail according to Figure 3 ; Figure 6 a perspective view of the fastening profile rail according to Figure 3 with partially inserted sealing device; Figure 7 a further perspective view of the fastening profile rail according to Figure 6 with partially inserted sealing device and Figure 8 the fastening profile rail according to Figure 7 with the sealing device fully inserted. DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0025] Figure 1 shows a sealing unit according to the invention with a fastening profile rail 1 and a sealing device 2 arranged therein, which are fastened together to a lower part of a door leaf T by means of the fastening profile rail 1.

[0026] As in the Figures 2 to 5 As can be seen, the mounting profile rail 1 is formed in one piece. It has two side walls 12 that run parallel to each other and are connected by a web 13. The side walls 12 and the web 13 define a first groove 10 on one side of the web 13 and a second groove 11 on the other side of the web 13.

[0027] The two grooves 10, 11 preferably extend over the entire length of the mounting profile rail 1. They are open at the front. They have a U-shaped cross-section and are open at the top and bottom. The groove base is formed by the web 13.

[0028] The first groove 10 serves to accommodate the sealing device 2, the second groove 11 serves to accommodate the door leaf T. The door leaf T is preferably glued in the second groove 11. The fastening of the sealing device 2 in the first groove 10 is explained below.

[0029] The sealing device 2 can be designed in different ways. Preferably, it is a drop-down seal, as shown in Figure 2 shown.

[0030] Drop-down seals are well known. They typically comprise a retaining profile rail 20 in which a sealing strip is held. The sealing strip typically consists of a supporting profile rail 21 and a single- or multi-part sealing profile 22 arranged thereon. The drop-down seal has a trigger 23, usually a trigger button or a trigger rod, which protrudes from the front of the retaining profile rail 20. When the door is closed, the trigger 23 is pressed in and activates a spring-loaded lowering mechanism inside the retaining profile rail 20, which lowers the supporting profile rail 21 and thus also the sealing profile 22 until the latter rests against a floor or door frame, thus sealing a gap between the door leaf and the stationary component.

[0031] At the lower end of each side wall 12, at the open end of the first groove 10, a ledge 120 is arranged which projects inwards into the first groove 10, as shown in the Figures 3 and 4 The two opposing ledges 120 serve as support surfaces for the retaining profile rail 20 of the sealing device 2. This is shown in Figure 2 clearly visible.

[0032] In the area of one end face of the fastening profile rail 1, a fixing 14 and an end stop 15 are provided in the web 13, projecting into the first groove 10, as shown in the Figures 3 and 4 is recognizable.

[0033] In this example, the fixation 14 has a clamping cam 140 that protrudes into the first groove 10. The clamping cam 140 is created by a blow from a ram on the opposite side of the web 13. On the opposite side, the fixation 14 has a corresponding small recess.

[0034] The end stop 15 is produced by stamping. A tongue 150 of the end stop projects diagonally into the first groove 10. It preferably extends diagonally to the interior of the fastening profile rail 1 in the direction of the fixing 14 and away from the adjacent open end of the fastening profile rail 1. This is shown in Figure 5 clearly visible. The web 13 has a corresponding window, which is clearly visible from the opposite side, ie from the second groove 12. For this purpose, reference is made to the Figures 3 and 6 referred to.

[0035] The Figures 6 to 8 show an installation of the sealing device 2 in the fastening profile rail 1. The installation can take place before the sealing device is fastened to a door leaf T or after the door leaf T has been fastened in the second groove 11. The latter is particularly the case when replacing a sealing device 2.

[0036] In the Figures 6 and 7The sealing device 2 is inserted into the rear end of the fastening profile rail 1, with the retaining profile rail 20 resting on the two ledges 120 and sliding along them. The height of the first groove 10, measured from the surface of the two ledges 120 to the web 13, preferably corresponds approximately or exactly to the height of the retaining profile rail 20. Upon reaching the clamping cam 140, a slightly increased, but usually manually exertable, force is required to push the sealing device 2 further. However, upon reaching the obliquely projecting tongue 150, the sealing device 2 is stopped. The tongue 150 rests against the upper web of the retaining profile rail 20.

[0037] The retaining profile rail 20 is now fixed in the first groove 10. Due to the tongue 150, it cannot be pushed any further forward. Due to the clamping cam 140, which presses the retaining profile rail 20 toward the ledges 120, it cannot fall out at the rear. The sealing device 2 is thus clicked into the fastening profile rail 1 in a detachable and removable manner.

[0038] Preferably, the trigger 23 is arranged at an end of the sealing device 2 opposite the end stop 15, i.e., the tongue 150. Forces acting on the sealing device when the door is closed and thus when the trigger 23 is pressed cannot lead to a displacement of the retaining profile rail 20 in this direction. The locking device 14, in particular the clamping cam 140, prevents displacement caused by forces that occur when the sealing strip is raised or by forces resulting from the movement of the door leaf.

[0039] The sealing unit according to the invention enables easy installation and replacement of a sealing device, even for glass doors.
