Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to an arrangement of scaffolding components for a scaffold, in particular a system scaffold, preferably in a frame scaffold, with the features of the preamble of claim 1. Technological background and state of the art
[0002] Construction scaffolding is used in building construction and industry to allow work in areas inaccessible from the ground. Two main types of construction scaffolding can be distinguished: system scaffolding and steel tube and coupler scaffolding. System scaffolding consists of working and safety scaffolding made from prefabricated components, where some or all system dimensions are predetermined by connections or fasteners permanently attached to the components. Two main types of system scaffolding are modular scaffolding and frame scaffolding. Modular scaffolding, or modular systems in the context of scaffolding construction, consists of vertical uprights. Prefabricated, permanent connection points for attaching other scaffolding components are installed at regular intervals (modules). Frame scaffolding consists of prefabricated components whose load-bearing structures comprise vertical and / or horizontal frames.Steel tube and coupler scaffolds are scaffolds with longitudinally and area-oriented scaffold levels made of steel tubes, couplers, and other system-independent scaffold components. All these scaffolds have in common that horizontal scaffold components, also known as crossbeams and longitudinal ledgers, are attached to vertically arranged scaffold tubes, which are also called scaffold uprights or scaffold poles. For safety and bracing, diagonally extending scaffold tubes, also known as diagonals, can be attached.
[0003] Scaffold platforms, forming walking and working surfaces, can be attached to the horizontal scaffold components. These platforms can be stacked to create multiple levels. The space formed by four vertical scaffold uprights, four crossbeams, and four longitudinal ledgers is called a scaffold bay.
[0004] Frame scaffolding uses scaffold frames connected by platforms. Each frame comprises two uprights, which are firmly connected by at least one crossbeam. A scaffold bay consisting of frames is typically erected as follows: First, two vertical frames are positioned horizontally apart. The frames are then connected at a specific height using platforms. This arrangement of two frames and the platforms connecting them is called a bay. For safety, a guardrail, or multiple guardrails, can be installed between adjacent uprights. At a minimum, a guardrail is mounted at hip or back height, for example, one meter above a platform on the first level. This first guardrail ensures that a person cannot fall from the scaffold platform. To further improve fall safety, a second guardrail, also known as a knee rail, can be installed between adjacent scaffold uprights. This second guardrail is typically positioned halfway between the first guardrail and the scaffold platform, for example, 50 cm above the platform. A toe board can also be installed between adjacent scaffold uprights to prevent objects from falling from the platform, as these objects are held in place by the toe board.
[0005] An arrangement of scaffolding components for a construction scaffold of the type mentioned above is known from WO 2021 / 194336 A1. This arrangement comprises a guardrail bracket consisting of ten separate components: a mounting plate, four transverse bolts, two tilting levers, two pivot axles, and a retaining plate. The mounting plate serves to attach the guardrail bracket to a scaffold upright. The lower retaining plate secures the guardrail element against lateral displacement from the guardrail bracket in a transverse direction away from the scaffold upright. The four cylindrical transverse bolts, the two upper ones also designated as transverse connecting elements and the two lower ones as safety elements, respectively, and the two lower ones as fastening protectors, are attached to the mounting plate on a first flat side. All transverse bolts extend parallel to each other, perpendicular to the mounting plate, in the same direction. The lower retaining plate is attached to the two lower transverse bolts of the four transverse bolts. The two lower transverse bolts are arranged at the same height and at a first horizontal distance from each other. A rocker arm is rotatably attached to each of the two upper transverse bolts of the four transverse bolts by means of a pivot axis relative to the corresponding upper transverse bolt. The two upper transverse bolts are arranged at the same height and at a second horizontal distance from each other, which corresponds to the first horizontal distance. Each upper transverse bolt is arranged at the same vertical distance from its corresponding lower transverse bolt. The four transverse bolts are arranged at the imaginary vertices of an imaginary, vertically oriented rectangle.
[0006] From DE 101 12 369 A1 and the parallel WO 02 / 066765 of the applicant, receiving devices for the detachable connection of up to two guardrail posts of a scaffolding system of the applicant's predecessor in title are known. The receiving devices are welded to the front vertical scaffold posts of scaffolding frames. Connecting devices are detachably attached to the rear vertical scaffold posts of the scaffolding frames. Each of these connecting devices has one receiving device and one connecting device for detachably connecting the connecting device to the associated vertical scaffold post of the respective scaffolding frame. Each receiving device has a sliding wedge that serves to clamp the connection areas of the guardrail posts. For this purpose, each railing post has a downward-pointing, flat projection at each of its two diverging end sections, which can be inserted from above into the corresponding receiving device. The geometry of the receiving device is designed such that a flat projection of the respective railing post can be inserted into it from either of its two diverging sides. Similar receiving devices have been known as mass-produced components for many decades under the names wedge boxes, inner boxes, or railing boxes for the so-called Blitz scaffolding system of the applicant and its legal predecessors. These receiving devices consist of sheet iron or flat iron and comprise a U-shaped profile in cross-section, formed by two side wall sections arranged at a horizontal distance from each other. The attachment ends of these side wall sections are angled and welded to a steel frame tube. The two side wall sections extend from the frame tube essentially parallel to each other in the same direction. At their outer ends, the side wall sections each transition into a transverse web, which is shaped into the interior of the wedge box such that it also has a U-shaped profile, thus forming a guide channel for the wedge, which is movable relative to it. An arrangement formed from such a wedge box and the frame tube is known, for example, from DE 27 57 189 A or the parallel GB 2 011 008 A.In the aforementioned DE 101 12 369 A1, a base plate is attached by welding to a wedge-shaped box, also referred to there as a receiving device, which can be detachably fastened to a vertical scaffold tube. An outwardly projecting, hammerhead-shaped projection unit is integrally formed with the base plate. The base plate and the projection unit are formed as a single casting and constitute a connection device for easily and releasably attaching it to the vertical scaffold tube. For this purpose, the vertical scaffold tube has at least one elongated hole whose longitudinal axis extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vertical scaffold tube. The hammerhead-shaped projection unit of the receiving device can be inserted through the elongated hole of the vertical scaffold tube, and then the wedge box can be releasably attached to the scaffold tube by rotating it 90 degrees and clamping it to the tube.
[0007] Each railing post has flat projections at both ends, each featuring a fastening hook for detachable connection of the railing post to a scaffold tube, in particular a scaffold upright. Such railing posts have also been known for many decades as mass-produced components, for example from the aforementioned patents DE 79 16 788 U and DE 101 12 369 A1.
[0008] When a second level of scaffolding is to be erected starting from the first level, such arrangements of wedge boxes on scaffold uprights have the disadvantage that a guardrail formed from such a scaffold bar for the next higher level can only be mounted on the wedge box from that higher level. Therefore, this higher level is not secured against falls by a guardrail until the guardrail has been installed from that higher level. If such a guardrail bar, with a flat projection or hook at each end, is inserted into a wedge box from above as intended and is not otherwise supported, then the guardrail bar becomes wedged between the two side walls of the wedge box at an angle of approximately 10 degrees to the horizontal due to gravity.
[0009] DE 100 10 229 discloses a holding device for attaching at least one guardrail tube to a pipe upright of scaffolding. DE 195 04 038 A discloses scaffolding equipped with pipe uprights and single and / or double guardrails, in particular back guardrails, and with U-shaped wedge boxes attached to the pipe uprights.
[0010] Despite all the advantages associated with them, the aforementioned constructions are comparatively complex and expensive in their manufacture and construction, and exhibit comparatively low stability. Summary of the invention
