AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

The increasing number of controls, display devices, and storage areas in vehicle interiors, particularly above center consoles, reduces available space for air vents, making it difficult to accommodate conventional vents due to space constraints and potential blockage of outflow areas by storage elements.

Method used

Integrating a vent into the storage element with directed flow openings at the rear and front edges of a storage surface, allowing for adjustable airflow directions, enabling a space-saving and flexible solution that does not compromise storage area provision.

Benefits of technology

This approach allows for efficient airflow direction adjustment, accommodating various occupant cooling and heating needs while maintaining storage functionality, even in constrained spaces, by using narrow slot-like outflow openings that can be adjusted for flow strength and direction.

Abstract

The invention relates to an interior fittings arrangement (1) for an interior of a vehicle, comprising a storage element (4) providing a substantially horizontal rest and storage area (5), and an out-flow element, wherein, in order to provide a directed utility air flow (16), the out-flow element has a first out-flow opening (9), in particular provided on a rear edge of the rest and storage area (5) and having at least one, in particular at least substantially horizontal first air out-flow direction (10) pointing over the rest and storage area (5), and a second out-flow opening (11), in particular provided at least on a front edge of the rest and storage area (5) and having at least one second air out-flow direction (12) deviating from the first air out-flow direction (10), in particular the horizontal, in particular at least partially pointing upwards, wherein air flows exiting from the first and the second out-flow opening (9, 11) hit one another, depending on the air out-flow directions (10, 12), to form the utility air flow (16), and the out-flow element also has an adjusting device (13) for adjusting a flow strength from the out-flow openings (9, 11) and thereby a flow direction (15) of the utility air flow (16).
