Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a kit for producing a washbasin, comprising a base body, in particular made of rigid foam, with a recess at the top, the bottom of which forms a slope toward a drain opening formed in the recess, and a drainage device having a drain designed for insertion into the drain opening. Furthermore, the invention relates to a washbasin produced from such a kit.

[0002] Kits for constructing washbasins are generally known in the state of the art. Examples include the products "LAVADO-FLOAT L" from Lux Elements GmbH & Co KG and "Sanbath" from WEDI GmbH. These kits comprise a base body with a recess on the top, the bottom of which slopes toward a drain opening formed in the recess. The base body is made from a single rigid foam block, into which the recess and slope are molded by foaming into a corresponding shape or by milling. The main outer surfaces, except for the back, are coated with a mineral adhesive, which acts as an adhesion promoter for thin-bed mortar or filler material. Accordingly, the washbasins can be filled with filler or tiled after installation.

[0003] Based on this prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide a kit for producing a washbasin and a washbasin of the type mentioned above with an alternative structure.

[0004] To achieve this object, the present invention provides a kit for producing a washbasin, which comprises a base body, in particular made of rigid foam, with a top-side recess, the bottom of which forms a gradient in the direction of a drain opening formed in the recess, and a drainage device having a drain that is designed to be inserted into the drain opening, characterized in that the kit is provided with a projection element designed as a separate component, in particular made of rigid foam, which is designed to be arranged above the drainage device positioned as intended and to be connected to the base body in such a way that a drain gap is formed between the drain of the drainage device and the underside of the projection element, which drain gap preferably has a width in the range of 3 to 25 mm.

[0005] When installed, the projection element visually conceals the drainage system, resulting in a very simple and attractive design for the washbasin.

[0006] Preferably, surfaces of the base body and / or the sealing sleeve and / or the sealing strips and / or the projection element are provided with an outward-facing adhesion-promoting layer, which promotes the adhesion of thin-bed mortar or filler material, in particular concrete filler. Accordingly, the corresponding components can easily be covered with a filler layer or tiles when installed.

[0007] Advantageously, the adhesion-promoting layer is a nonwoven or woven fabric, which makes the production of the kit particularly simple and inexpensive.

[0008] A waterproof layer is preferably provided beneath the adhesion-promoting layer, particularly if the material of the base body is not waterproof or if there are joints through which water and / or moisture can penetrate.

[0009] The waterproof layer is preferably a plastic film, for example made of polyethylene, which results in a simple and inexpensive structure.

[0010] Preferably, an adhesion-promoting layer is arranged directly below and above the waterproof layer. The lower adhesion-promoting layer serves to facilitate attachment to the components.

[0011] The adhesion-promoting layer(s) is / are preferably bonded to the waterproof layer during its production, resulting in a tightly bonded two- or three-layer structure that is easy to process. Such a two- or three-layer structure can be produced, for example, by laminating or thermally bonding a woven or nonwoven fabric to a plastic film.

[0012] The rigid foam can be foamed directly onto an adhesion-promoting layer during its production. Alternatively, it can also be bonded or attached using a thermal process.

[0013] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the adhesion-promoting layer and, if present, the waterproof layer are provided at least partially as one or more, in particular deep-drawn, shaped bodies, the dimensions of which are selected such that they can be inserted precisely into the upper recess of the base body, thereby significantly facilitating the assembly of the kit.

[0014] Preferably, an elongated drainage channel is provided, which is made in particular of aluminum or stainless steel. The drainage channel preferably has a substantially U-shaped cross-section, with one of the opposing legs being curved outward and / or beveled outward at its free end. Such a drainage channel enhances the appearance and, above all, is easy to clean. The drainage channel advantageously comprises a drain nozzle that can be inserted into the drain opening of the drainage device.

[0015] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the base body comprises a plurality of pre-cut rigid foam panels arranged one above the other and firmly connected to one another. Cutting such individual rigid foam panels does not require a milling machine, thus avoiding machine acquisition costs if appropriate cutting tools for cutting rigid foam panels are already available. Furthermore, thanks to the pre-cutting of the individual panels, the structure of the base body can be designed very variably, particularly with regard to undercuts or the like.

[0016] The bottom of the recess is preferably formed by a downwardly angled section of an upper rigid foam panel, particularly the topmost rigid foam panel. This achieves a simple structure. Support elements can be provided to support the panel section from below, thereby achieving a robust structure.

[0017] The rigid foam board forming the base of the recess advantageously has a thickness in the range of 2 to 10 mm, particularly in the range of 4 to 7 mm. A comparatively thin board thickness is beneficial for the formation of the angled board section.

[0018] Preferably, a rigid foam plate is arranged directly beneath the rigid foam plate forming the bottom of the recess, said plate having a greater plate thickness than the rigid foam plate forming the bottom of the recess, in particular a plate thickness in the range from 15 to 35 mm, better still in the range from 20 to 25 mm, wherein the rigid foam plate arranged beneath the rigid foam plate forming the bottom of the recess has a recess below the angled plate section, the width of which corresponds to the width of the angled plate section and the depth of which corresponds to the depth of the angled plate section.

[0019] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a rigid foam plate arranged below the rigid foam plate which is arranged below the rigid foam plate forming the bottom of the recess has a recess whose width corresponds to the width of the angled plate section and whose depth is less than the depth of the angled plate section, so that the underside of the angled plate section rests on the rigid foam plate arranged below it.

[0020] Kit according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises one or more wall brackets for attaching the washbasin to a wall, which form / form at least two forward-projecting blades, and in that the base body is provided with at least two parallel, elongated blade-receiving recesses extending forward from the rear edge of the base body. Such a design promotes simple final assembly of the washbasin.

[0021] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the base body has a through-opening extending from the top to the bottom for receiving a water pipe. A mounting plate made of hard plastic or metal is provided on the top of the base body and provided with a through-opening. The through-opening of the mounting plate is aligned with the through-opening of the base body and serves to connect a washbasin faucet. The diameter of the through-opening of the mounting plate is preferably smaller than the diameter of the through-opening of the base body to provide sufficient space for installing the washbasin faucet.

[0022] Furthermore, to achieve the object mentioned above, the present invention provides a washbasin which is manufactured using a kit according to the invention.

[0023] Further features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings. [0024] The same reference numbers refer to the same or similar components.

[0025] The Figures 1 to 11 show a washbasin 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention and a kit 2 for manufacturing the same. The kit 2 comprises, as best shown in Figure 2As can be seen, the main components are a base body 3, which forms the actual basin, two wall brackets 5, each having a sword 4, which are designed to fasten the washbasin 1 to a wall of a room, a drainage device 6, which in the present case is formed from a drain 16 provided with a sealing sleeve 28, a drainage channel provided with a drain nozzle 16, two sealing film elements 7 and a projection element 32.

[0026] The base body 3 is primarily made of rigid foam and includes a top-side recess 19 with a width B and a depth T. More precisely, the base body 3 is formed in the present case from a plurality of cut rigid foam panels 8, 9, 10, and 11, which are arranged one above the other and firmly connected to one another, for example using an adhesive. Due to its water- and moisture-proof properties, extruded polystyrene rigid foam (XPS) is preferred as the rigid foam, although other rigid foams are of course also possible. The individual rigid foam panels 8, 9, 10, and 11, which in the present case each have a uniform panel thickness s, generally have a substantially rectangular cut. However, it should be clear that other cuts are also possible, for example, a square cut, a cut with rounded edges, a free-form cut, or the like. The rear edge of the rigid foam panels 8, 9, 10, and 11 should be essentially straight to allow attachment to a flat wall. For freestanding washbasins, a straight rear edge is naturally not required.

[0027] The bottommost rigid foam panel 8 has a rigid foam core 12 coated on both sides with a layered composite, each of which in this case comprises an adhesion-promoting layer 14, a waterproof layer 13, and another adhesion-promoting layer 14. Plastic films, such as polyethylene films, are preferred as waterproof layers 13. The adhesion-promoting layers 14 are in the form of nonwovens in this case. Alternatively, however, a fabric layer, for example, can also serve as the adhesion-promoting layer 14. The panel thickness s8 is in the range from 25 to 35 mm in this case, but is fundamentally freely selectable. In the rear area, near the rear panel edge, a drainage opening 15 is formed, the shape of which is adapted to the shape of a drain 16 of the drainage device 6.The underside of the lowest rigid foam panel 8 is provided in the front area with a continuous groove 17 extending essentially parallel to the front edge of the panel, into which a light source can be inserted, for example, in the form of an LED strip or the like. It should be clear that the groove 17 can, of course, also be omitted.

[0028] The rigid foam panel 9 arranged above consists in this case of a hard material core 12. Alternatively, it can also be provided with waterproof layers 13 and adhesion-promoting layers 14, similar to the lowest rigid foam panel 8. The rigid foam panel 9 has a central rectangular recess 18, the width of which corresponds to the width B of an upper depression 19 of the washbasin 1. However, the depth t is selected to be somewhat smaller than the depth T of the depression 19. Furthermore, the rigid foam panel 9 comprises blade receiving recesses 20 arranged on both sides of the central recess 18, which extend parallel to one another from the rear edge of the panel to the front and are adapted to the dimensions of the blades 4 of the wall brackets 5. The panel thickness s9 is 25 mm in this case, whereby the panel thickness s should correspond to the height of the blades 4 in order to ensure secure hold.

[0029] The next rigid foam plate 10, whose basic structure can correspond to the lowest or second lowest rigid foam plate 8, 9, also has a central, rectangular recess 21, whose width b10 and depth t10 essentially correspond to the width B and depth T of the recess 19. The plate thickness s10 is preferably in the range of 20 to 25 mm.

[0030] The uppermost rigid foam panel 11, whose basic structure corresponds to that of the lowermost rigid foam panel 8, has a downwardly angled panel section 22 whose width b11 and depth t11 essentially correspond to those of the recess 21. A front region 23 of the angled panel section forms the slope of the floor of the recess 19, and a rear region 24 forms an insertion area for the drainage device 6. For this purpose, the rear region 24 is also provided with a recess 25. The panel thickness s10 is 5 mm in this case.

[0031] The wall brackets 5, which are preferably made of metal, each have, in addition to the blades 4, a plate-shaped mounting section 26 from which the blades 4 protrude and which, in this case, are each provided with four holes 27 for the passage of screws. It should be clear that instead of two wall brackets 5, a single wall bracket with two blades can also be used.

[0032] The drainage device 6 comprises the outlet 16 provided with the sealing sleeve 28, into which the underside drain connection 42 of the drainage channel 40 is inserted. Instead of the sealing sleeve 28, sealing strips can also be used. The sealing sleeve is made of a layered structure which, viewed from top to bottom, comprises an adhesion-promoting layer 14, in particular made of woven or nonwoven fabric, a waterproof layer 13, in particular made of plastic film, and another adhesion-promoting layer 14. The drainage channel 40 has a substantially U-shaped cross-section, with the opposing legs arranged one above the other. The lower leg is curved outwards and folded downwards at its free end. The free end of the upper leg is bent by 180°.

[0033] The presently cut and preformed film-like molded bodies 7, whose layer structure corresponds to the layer structure of the sealing sleeve 28 of the drainage device 6, serve to waterproof the side walls of the recess 19 and are shaped accordingly. The molded bodies 7 each comprise overlapping sections 29 for covering the base body regions arranged adjacent to the side walls of the recess 19 and a molded body section 30 facing the rear side of the base body 3, in particular flush with the rear side of the base body 3, which serves as a transition to a wall seal.

[0034] The projection element 32 is cuboid-shaped and, analogously to the base body, is made of rigid foam, which is preferably coated on one or more sides with a layer composite, which in particular has an adhesion-promoting layer 14, a waterproof layer 13 and again an adhesion-promoting layer 14. The length I of the projection element 32 is selected such that it corresponds to the width B of the recess 19, and the height h of the projection element 32 is selected to be smaller than the maximum height H of the recess. Accordingly, as shown in Figure 10is shown, in the assembled state of the projection element 32, in which the projection element 32 is fastened to the base body 3 such that the upper side of the projection element 32 is flush with the upper side of the base body 3, between the upper side of the drain 16 of the drainage device 6 and the underside of the projection element 32 there is a drain gap 33, the width b33 of which is preferably in the range from 3 to 25 mm.

[0035] To assemble the washbasin 1, in a first step the two lower rigid foam panels 8 and 9 are arranged flush one above the other and fastened to one another, for example by gluing. In a second step the third rigid foam panel 10 is arranged on the second rigid foam panel 9 and fastened to it. Now the uppermost rigid foam panel 11 is placed on the third rigid foam panel 10 and fastened to it. The panel section 22 of the uppermost rigid foam panel 11, which is provided with a notch to facilitate folding down, is pressed downwards until it rests on the edge designated by the reference numeral 31 of the rigid foam panel 9 arranged below, whereupon the underside of the rear region 24 of the panel section 22 is sealingly glued to the upper adhesion-promoting layer 14 of the lowermost rigid foam panel 8. The molded bodies 7 are then adhesively fixed in the region of the side walls of the recess 19.Now, the drain 16 of the drainage device 6 is inserted from above into the drain opening 15 of the lowest rigid foam panel 8, and the sealing sleeve 28 is sealed with adhesive to the upper adhesion-promoting layer 14 of the uppermost rigid foam panel 11. Then, the drain nozzle 42 of the drainage channel 40 is inserted into the drain pipe 16. In a further step, the projection element 32 is placed on top of the drain channel 40 and attached to the base body 3, for example by adhesive. In a final step, the visible sides of the base body 3 and the projection element 32 are filled with a filler material, so that the . Figure 11 shown washbasin 1 results. To improve the external appearance, a light can be inserted into the groove 17, particularly in the form of an LED strip.

[0036] The Figures 12 to 17show a kit 2 for manufacturing a washbasin according to a second embodiment of the present invention, or components thereof. The structure of this kit 2 is very similar to the structure of the previously described kit 2, which is why only the differences are explained below to avoid repetition.

[0037] A first difference is that the recess 19 of the base body 3 formed by the cutouts 18 and 21 of the rigid foam panels 9 and 10 does not extend to the rear edge of the base body 3, but ends at a distance a from it. The shoulder remaining between the recess 19 and the rear edge of the base body 3 serves as a storage area and, in this case, is also used to accommodate a washbasin faucet (not shown in detail). For this purpose, the rigid foam panels 8, 9 and 10 are provided with vertically aligned through-openings 34 which, when the kit 2 is assembled, extend from the top to the bottom of the base body 3. On the top side of the base body, there is a mounting plate 36 made of hard plastic or metal and provided with a through-opening 35, wherein the through-opening 35 of the mounting plate is aligned with the through-openings 34 of the base body.

[0038] A further difference is that support elements 37 in the form of rigid foam panels are provided, which additionally support the panel section 22 from below, thereby achieving better stability than in the first embodiment.

[0039] In addition, the two molded bodies 7 are replaced by the sealing sleeve 28 attached to the outlet 16 of the drainage device 6. This sealing sleeve is designed as a molded body in such a way that, when installed, it seals the entire recess. The sealing sleeve 38 is provided with a recess at the position of the outlet opening 15, which provides free access to the outlet opening 15.

[0040] In addition, the lowest rigid foam plate 8 does not have a groove 17.

[0041] To assemble the washbasin 1, in a first step, the two lower rigid foam panels 8 and 9 are arranged flush one above the other and fastened to each other, for example, by gluing. In a second step, the third rigid foam panel 10 is arranged on top of the second rigid foam panel 9 and fastened to it. In a further step, the support elements 37 are positioned in positions shown in Figure 9indicated by arrows 41, are arranged on the rigid foam panels 8 and 9 and fastened thereto, for example by adhesive. The uppermost rigid foam panel 11 is now placed onto the third rigid foam panel 10 and fastened thereto. The panel section 22 of the uppermost rigid foam panel 11 is pressed downwards until it rests on the edges designated by reference number 31 of the rigid foam panel 9 arranged underneath, as well as on the support elements 37, whereupon the underside of the rear region 24 of the panel section 22 is sealingly adhesively bonded to the upper adhesion-promoting layer 14 of the lowermost rigid foam panel 8. The drain 16 is then inserted into the drain opening 15, and at the same time the sealing sleeve 38 is inserted into the recess 19 and then adhesively secured. The drain nozzle 42 of the drainage channel 40 is then inserted into the drain 16 from above. In a further step, the projection element 32 is attached to the base body 3, for example, by adhesive means. In a final step, the mounting plate 36 is attached to the rigid foam board 11, in particular by adhesive means. The visible sides of the base body 3 and the projection element 32 can now be filled with filler material. Furthermore, a washbasin faucet can be mounted on the mounting plate.

[0042] It should be understood that the previously described embodiment serves only as an example and is not intended to be limiting. Rather, changes and modifications are possible without departing from the scope of protection defined by the appended claims. Thus, the base bodies 3 can also be made from a single rigid foam block, which is preferably at least partially provided with a layer composite consisting of an adhesion promoter layer 14, a waterproof layer 13, and an adhesion promoter layer 14. The provision of a drainage channel 40 can also be omitted.
