Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a protective device for covering a building opening, such as a window, surrounded by a frame. The window comprises the frame and a window sash that is generally pivotally mounted relative to the frame. In particular, the invention relates to a protective device designed as an insect screen that can be attached to the outside of the frame, preventing insects from entering the building when the window sash is open.

[0002] The protective device has a generally rectangular frame which has first frame struts which are aligned vertically when the protective device is mounted on the frame, and second frame struts which are aligned transversely to the first frame struts and horizontally when mounted. Each frame strut comprises at least one profile strip. Each frame strut can in particular comprise exactly one profile strip, in which case the length of the profile strip must be adapted to the size of the frame. Alternatively, each frame strut can have at least two profile strips which are telescopic relative to one another, such that the frame struts can be easily adapted to the size of the frame by telescoping. For this purpose, each frame strut has in particular an outer profile strip into which at least one inner profile strip can be inserted.

[0003] The frame defines, in particular, a frame plane, wherein the frame has an outer frame side and an inner frame side in the frame plane, and a front side and a rear side orthogonal to the frame plane. The outer frame side is thus directed outward in the frame plane, while the inner frame side is directed toward the space enclosed by the frame, which is covered by the protective element. The front side of the frame is the side that, when mounted on the frame, faces away from the frame, while the rear side, when mounted, is directed toward the frame.

[0004] Adjacent frame struts can be connected to each other in a suitable manner. For example, corner connectors can be provided, each having at least two connecting legs, with the connecting legs being inserted into the profile strips of adjacent frame struts, particularly in a force-fitting manner.

[0005] The protective device also comprises a protective element that is attached or can be attached to the frame and is stretched across the frame. The protective element can be designed, for example, as an insect screen / net. Alternatively, the protective element can be designed, for example, as a pollen protection fabric to prevent pollen from penetrating.

[0006] In addition, the protective device can comprise a clamping element with which the protective element is secured to the frame. For example, the profile strips of the frame strut can have a securing contour extending along their longitudinal extent, wherein a clamping contour of the clamping element is matched to the securing contour such that the protective element is secured by the clamping element to the securing contour of the profile strip. The clamping element can, for example, be designed in a known manner as a piping. In addition to the clamping contour, the clamping element can comprise further functional elements. For example, a sealing lip can be provided on the clamping element to seal the protective device against the frame.

[0007] The protective device also comprises at least one holding element for attaching the protective device to the frame. In particular, exactly two or exactly four holding elements are provided, with which the protective device can be attached to the frame and in particular can be suspended from the frame. The holding elements can be designed, for example, as suspension brackets. Such a suspension bracket comprises, in particular, a fastening section which is attached to the frame, in particular to the profile strips of the frame strut or to a corner connector and extends in particular in the direction of the longitudinal extent of the profile strip, as well as a spacer web aligned orthogonally to the fastening section, which, in the fastened state, rests on an upper side of the frame facing the building opening, and a holding leg which, in the fastened state, engages behind the frame. With such holding elements, the protective device can be hung in particular on the frame.

[0008] On the one hand, it is now known to attach the retaining elements indirectly to the frame strut, and in particular to the profile strip of the frame strut, using additional components. For example, DE 10 2018 106 444 B4 discloses that the retaining element is attached to the profile strip via a functional component as an additional component. The use of additional components can result in play between the retaining element and the frame.

[0009] On the other hand, it is known to attach the retaining element to the corner connector. For example, EP 2 484 855 B1 discloses that the spacer bar of the suspension bracket is inserted through the corner connector and the fastening section is bent over on the back of the corner connector.

[0010] It is also desirable that the retaining element is positioned as far towards the inside of the frame as possible so that the frame of the protective device can overlap as much as possible with the frame. For example, seals are usually attached to the frame struts of the frame of the protective device, which rest on the outside of the frame when installed. The largest possible overlap ensures particularly good sealing. To attach the seals, the profile strips of the frame struts and, if applicable, the corner connectors can have corresponding channels to accommodate the seal. When the retaining elements are attached to the corner connector, this arrangement alone ensures a slight overlap between the frame of the protective device and the frame.

[0011] From EP 4 001 583 A1, for example, it is known that the spacer web and the holding leg of a suspension bracket are offset with respect to the fastening section towards the interior of the frame, wherein the fastening section of the holding element is fastened to the corner connector.

[0012] The object of the present invention is to at least partially eliminate the disadvantages described with reference to the prior art and, in particular, to provide a protective device in which the holding element is securely fastened to the frame without play.

[0013] A possible solution to this problem is provided by the protective device having the features of independent claim 1. Further solutions and advantageous developments are specified in the above and following description as well as in the subclaims, wherein individual features of the advantageous developments can be combined with one another in a technically expedient manner.

[0014] The object is achieved in particular by providing a profile strip, at least preferably a profile strip of each frame strut, or particularly preferably each profile strip of the frame struts, with a receptacle for the retaining element, and by providing the retaining element, at least in sections, directly within the receptacle of the profile strip. The receptacle can, for example, extend over the entire length of the profile strip, whereby the receptacle is formed as a type of channel in the profile strip, which is defined by the cross-sectional contour of the profile strip.

[0015] In other words, the basic concept of the invention provides that the retaining element is attached directly and immediately, i.e., without the use of additional components, to a part or section of the profile strip. For this purpose, the profile strip and the retaining element are coordinated with each other to such an extent that the part or section of the retaining element arranged in the receptacle of the profile strip is held in the receptacle in a force-fitting and / or positive-locking manner. Thus, no additional components are required to attach the retaining element to the frame.

[0016] The retaining element is designed, in particular, as a suspension bracket having a fastening section, a spacer web, and a retaining leg, wherein the retaining element is at least partially inserted into the receptacle with the fastening section. The suspension bracket is made, in particular, from a metal strip, wherein the fastening section is arranged at a right angle to the spacer web. Furthermore, the retaining leg is arranged at a right angle to the spacer web and aligned parallel to the fastening section. The fastening section, the spacer web, and the retaining leg are arranged, in particular, in one plane.

[0017] The receptacle defined by the cross-sectional contour of the profile strip is preferably sized to match the fastening section of the retaining element so that the fastening section can be inserted into the receptacle from one end face of the profile strip and is held there in a force-locking manner. The profile strip is, in particular, an aluminum profile strip, and the retaining element is, in particular, made of a metal. The fastening section of the retaining element and the receptacle are, in particular, dimensioned such that a type of crimp connection is created when the fastening section is inserted into the receptacle.

[0018] To achieve the greatest possible overlap between the frame of the protective device and the frame, one embodiment provides for the receptacle for the retaining element to be arranged adjacent to the frame's inner side. The receptacle is accordingly formed in an area of the profile strip that, at least in part, forms the frame's inner side. Thus, the retaining element and the part of the retaining element that overlaps the frame in the attached state are arranged as far inward as possible, so that the frame overlaps the frame by, for example, more than 50%, preferably more than 70%, of its width.

[0019] The mount can, for example, be designed as a completely enclosed channel within the profile strip. However, it can also be partially open on one side.

[0020] In this context, it is particularly provided that the securing contour for receiving the clamping element is designed as a contour open toward the front side, into which the clamping element, designed in particular as a piping, can be inserted to secure the protective element. It is now proposed, in particular, that the receptacle for the holding element be arranged directly adjacent to the securing contour, wherein the receptacle is arranged, in particular, directly adjacent to the front side or the rear side. The securing contour and the receptacle are arranged, so to speak, one above the other in the profile strip from the rear side to the front side.

[0021] If adjacent frame struts are connected to each other via corner connectors, it is provided in this context that the retaining element, and in particular the fastening section of the retaining element, is arranged in the profile strip offset from a connecting leg toward the inside of the frame. The connecting leg of the corner connector is arranged, for example, in a designated receiving channel in the profile strip, with the receiving channel being arranged toward the outside of the frame.

[0022] In one embodiment, it can be provided that the holding element and in particular the fastening section of the suspension bracket on the frame is inserted exclusively into the receptacle.

[0023] In an alternative embodiment, it can be provided that the holding element and in particular also the fastening section of the holding element are arranged at least in sections in or on the corner connector.

[0024] In this context, it can be provided that the corner connector has a fastening area for the retaining element, and that the retaining element can be pre-assembled in the fastening area in such a way that the retaining element is inserted into the receptacle when the connecting leg of the corner connector is inserted into the profile strip. Such pre-assembly of the retaining element on the corner connector makes the protective device easier to install, especially for an end user, since they can insert the corner connector and the retaining element together / simultaneously into the profile strip of the frame strut.

[0025] The fastening area of the corner connector is designed in particular such that the holding element can be pre-assembled in a force-fitting and / or form-fitting manner and without tools, for which purpose the fastening area comprises in particular a first recess for the fastening section of the holding element and a second recess for the spacer web of the holding element.

[0026] In this context, it can be provided, in particular, that the spacer web can be introduced into the second recess when the holding element is tilted, wherein when the holding element is tilted back into the second recess, the fastening section moves into the first recess. The second, in particular slot-like recess is aligned approximately parallel to the end face of the profile strip into which the holding element is inserted, wherein the in particular slot-shaped first recess extends parallel to the longitudinal extent of the profile strip. Adjacent to the first recess, a stop can be formed, for example in the form of a projection, against which the fastening section of the holding element comes to rest when the holding element is tilted back.

[0027] The present invention particularly relates to a protective device with a frame that is easily adjustable in size, in which all frame struts have at least one outer profile strip and at least one inner profile strip.

[0028] The invention and the technical environment are explained below using the figures as examples. They show schematically Figure 1: a profile strip, a corner connector and a holding element in an exploded view, Figure 2: another embodiment of a corner connector and a holding element at the beginning of an assembly process, Figure 3: the corner connector and the holding element according to Figure 2 during the assembly process, Figure 4: the corner connector and the holding element at the end of the assembly process, Figure 5: the corner connector and the holding element of the Figures 2 to 4 in a state inserted into a profile strip and Figure 6: a protective device with the elements of the Figures 2 to 5 .

[0029] In Figure 6 A protective device for covering a building opening surrounded by a frame is shown. The protective device comprises a frame 1 with two vertically aligned first frame struts 1.1a and 1.1b and two horizontally aligned second frame struts 1.2a and 1.2b. The frame struts 1.1a, 1.1b, 1.2a, and 1.2b are each formed by a profile strip 2. In an embodiment not shown, the frame struts can also each comprise two profile strips that are telescopically extendable relative to one another.

[0030] The profile strips 2 of adjacent frame struts are connected by means of corner connectors 10 to form a rectangular frame 1.

[0031] The frame 1 defines a frame plane, wherein the frame 1 has in the frame plane a frame outer side 9.1 and a frame inner side 9.2, as well as a front side 9.3 pointing away from the frame and a rear side 9.4 pointing towards the frame.

[0032] The frame has seals 8 on its rear side 9.4 adjacent to the outer side 9.1 of the frame, which are inserted into corresponding channels in the profile strips 2 and extend into corresponding channels in the corner connectors 10.

[0033] In the profile strips 2, fixing contours 7 are formed, into which a clamping element 4 realized as a piping is introduced, with which a protective element 3, for example an insect protection net or a pollen protection net, is attached to the frame 1.

[0034] In addition, the protective device has four holding elements 5 with which the protective device can be attached to a frame, for example to a frame of a window.

[0035] According to the invention, it is now proposed that the profile strip 2 has a receptacle 6 for the holding element 5, and that the holding element 5 is at least partially inserted directly into the receptacle.

[0036] For this purpose, Figure 1 An embodiment is shown. From the Figure 1 It can be seen that the corner connector 10 has a first connecting leg 10.1 and a second connecting leg 10.2. The connecting legs 10.1 and 10.2 are inserted into corresponding channels of the profile strips 2 of adjacent frame struts.

[0037] The retaining element 5, designed as a suspension bracket, has a fastening section 5.1, a spacer bar 5.2 arranged at right angles thereto, and a retaining leg 5.3 aligned parallel to the fastening section 5.1 and perpendicular to the spacer bar 5.2. When mounted on a frame, the retaining element 5 rests with the spacer bar 5.2 on an inner side of the frame facing the building side, while the retaining leg 5.3 engages behind the frame.

[0038] As from Figure 1As can be seen, the receptacle 6 for the fastening section 5.1 of the holding element 5 is formed below the fixing contour 7. The receptacle 6 is formed by the bottom of the profile strip 2 and by two projections that extend along the longitudinal extent of the profile strip 2. The receptacle, in particular with its projections, is matched to the fastening section 5.1 in such a way that the fastening section 5.1 is held in the receptacle 6 by force after being inserted from the front side of the profile strip 2. Figure 1 In the embodiment shown, the fastening section 5.1 of the holding element is arranged exclusively in the receptacle 6.

[0039] By directly inserting the holding element 5 into the receptacle 6, an exact position of the holding element 5 is specified without the need for additional components or tools.

[0040] Since the receptacle 6 is arranged directly adjacent to the frame inner side 9.2, the frame 1 can overlap with the frame to a large extent, so that the seal 8 rests securely on the outside of the frame.

[0041] In the Figures 2 to 5 a further embodiment of a corner connector and an arrangement of the holding element 5 is shown, which is also within the scope of the Figure 6 is realized.

[0042] While the design of the Figure 1 the holding element 5 is arranged exclusively in the receptacle of the profile strip 2, in the embodiment of the Figures 2 to 5The retaining element 5 is still attached in sections in / on the corner connector 10. According to this embodiment, the retaining element 5 can be pre-assembled on the corner connector 10, so that the fastening section 5.1 of the retaining element 5 can be inserted into the receptacle 6 while the connecting leg 10.1 is simultaneously inserted into the profile strip 2.

[0043] For this purpose, the corner connector 10, which has a first connecting leg 10.1 and a second connecting leg 10.2, has a fastening area 11 to which the holding element 5 can be pre-assembled in a force-locking and form-locking manner without tools.

[0044] The fastening area 11 comprises a first slot-shaped recess 11.1, which is oriented approximately perpendicular to the direction of extension of the first connecting leg 10.1. The fastening area 11 also comprises a second recess 11.2, which is oriented approximately parallel to the first connecting leg 10.1 and, like the first recess 11.1, is formed in a region of the corner connector 10 that is not inserted into a profile strip 2. The fastening area 11 also comprises a projection 11.3.

[0045] As can be seen in particular from the Figures 2 to 4 As can be seen from the assembly steps shown, the first recess 11.1 is designed such that the holding element 5 can be introduced into the first recess 11.1 in a tilted state with the spacer web 5.2, wherein at the same time the fastening section 5.1 of the holding element 5 is arranged adjacent to the second recess 11.2 (see in particular Figure 3). When the holding element 5 is pivoted back, the fastening section enters the second recess 11.2 and is held there by contact with the projection 11.3. List of reference symbols
